Opiniones de Las Delicias Syracuse
Omg the food here is so great I order food for two days I have never had a bad meal from there I recommend to anyone 😄😄
Excelent dominican and Puerto Rican food. Yes! Cook chicken with the skin like we want and do not make tacos, this is not mexican food ...
Best empanadas I've ever had!!
Food is always delicious you might have a little wait time after ordering but it's worth the wait
Best food on Wescott Street! Guava empanadas are fantastic
Wasn't a long wait. Food was delicious and hot. Employees was very friendly and tentative.
Authentic Dominican food!! It's hard to find good ethnic food in Syracuse.. or any ethnic food at all really, but Las Delicias has it! Great variety of empanadas, mofongo, tostones, chicharron.. u name it, they got it! Made to order, hot and fresh or quick choices hot and ready to go.. both ways are fresh and delicious! Good portions, reasonable prices! Will go back again and again!
I love the food. It is always amazing. The oxtail are always so fresh and juicy and overall the service is friendly and you feel at home.
Awesome authentic Cuban/Hispanic food! Being from Florida I miss my Cuban food and Central New York isn't really known for any, but this place has got it!!! Masitas, Tostones, Maduros, Yuca, Mofungo, Papas de Relleno, Papaya & Mango Shakes....🤤mmmmm! Just like home! Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, Awesome Food! It's a hat trick for sure!
Love this place! Family owned. I’m in often an they always ask how I’ve been. Amazing portions and prices. It’s amazing
The food was really good. I feel her pain because this place is understaffed and she is doing her best to keep up. Kudos.
I love their food and they give you alot for your money. Can't wait until I go again. Food was delicious
Me and my sister drove from binghamton here because we wanted good Spanish food and it was definitely worth the drive the food was so gooddddddd and what made the experience even better is the lady China she was very sweet and made sure we had everything we needed food was fresh as well Im definitely coming back
Love their food, but the waiting times suck. And also, I wish there were 2 behind the counter- this would eliminate going back and forth about the same thing with the same client.
Francisco is a customer of mine. He brings me empanadas when he comes here.. They Are the Best i have ever Had. Thank You. Everyone should Check this place out.
I am not sure why the little girl that does nit know what she us doing still works there. She makes me not want to order from here. Good food though
Omg! I highly recommend this place, I had been looking for it, and so glad I finally found it, the food was awesome and the portion size was huge!
Love love love this spot. My favorite spot in the westcott area for sure! Amazing food at even better prices! Be sure to check out their empanadas!
When the food reminds you of mom's and grandma's cooking you know you've found a good thing. This place has savory home cooking from the Spanish speaking Caribbean. The feel is like hanging out in the family kitchen and sneaking a taste from the pot simmering on the stove.
This little place does a amazing job with the food they serve. If this place was in a different location with more seating and better parking I'm sure would be a big success.
Cozy spot with wonderful food. Staff were kind and quick. We shared a sandwich and a side and it filled us up. Very reasonable for a quick date night bite
Ordered theCubano panini and veggie chili. The best meal I have had in years. Will be back for sure.
Mofongo was delicious. I ordered for pickup. My food was hot and ready when I got there. I also ordered empanadas my only complaint regarding those are ; they are to small. 5 stars I love Las Delicias ❤
Great service with great food. I've tried some similar places in Syracuse and this one is the best so far. I'll keep coming back. Definitely try their pernil and mofongo!
THE FOOD HERE IS SOOOO GOOD! ALTHOUGH THE LADY WHO WORK AT THE REGISTER TALK TO MUCH SHE MESSED MY ORDER UP AFTER I CAME HOME I REALIZED MY EMPANADA WAS NOT CHICKEN &CHEESE AS I ORDERED! ALTHOUGH THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GREAT!
I wish i took a picture but i was to busy eating it. Oxtail stew was delicious with the rice. Made me feel like i was back home in the Caribbean. I will be ordering again.
The empanadas are on point. I always get their empanadas at the fair, but straight from the restaurant is clearly better. The mofongo is better than what I had in Puerto Rico. Crazy good and the staff was delightful. Eat this food.
It is my first time here, and this place is the BEST. I made the decision to stop by Las Delicias on my way home because I was wanting empanadas. There isn't much street parking near Westcott, so I immediately parked there and entered to place my order. For roughly $6, I purchased a beef and cheese empanada as well as a chicken and cheese empanada. Within ten minutes, my order was prepared. The empanadas had an adequate size. They were still quite tasty, but I believe they could have used a little more filling. I can't wait to go back here!
I ordered a dozen of the empanadas for a small party, 4 beef and cheese, 4 broccoli and cheese and 4 Dominicans. They came out fresh and within about 15 minutes of ordering and all of them were a huge hit! My personal favorite was the broccoli and cheese, but you can't go wrong with any of them. I'll be back!
Three years ago, I found this place by chance and every time I’m in Syracuse I make it a point to eat there. The food never disappoints and the owners are the sweetest people. I’m thrilled that they’ve expanded the menu. Wishing them much continued success!!!
An informal, authentic place to get a fantastic meal. The staff is wonderful, and we had our food quickly. They probably do more take-out, but we ate in. It was as if I was again eating out in the Dominican Republic -- only without the sounds of dirt bikes going by outside.
We asked Francisco to cater s funeral for 50 people with only 2 days notice. On the morning of the funeral he drove through blizzard conditions of ice, snow, and wind to deliver our food. We ended up having closer to 100 people arrive, everyone was stuffed and the food was delicious! He was very kind and gave us a great deal of the food. We will definitely be returning. I highly recommend Las Delicias!
The food here is fantastic. If you haven't been, you need to go here. The lunch menu is on par or cheaper than most fast food restaurants. The service is quick and friendly. This is not fast food quality. It is quality food that leaves you satisfied and feeling good.
I ordered catering from here for 200 ppl. Their empanadas are absolutely delicious and were a BIG hit! They were fresh, on time, and so friendly I felt like family. Very clean! I very highly recommend this neighborhood gem!!
Everything is always very tasty and the portions are large, which is good for my husband)
I was late to pick up and the owner had stayed so I could still get my food. It was delicious. Plentiful and flavorful. So glad I discovered Las Delicias! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The fried pork was delicious! Luis behind the counter made it a great experience even after a long hard day at work.
The owner of this place is incredibly nice, generous and hardworking and the food is delicious too! I had chicken curry dinner with rice, beans and plantains that she made freshly for us. She also gave us extra gravy and a free drink. I easily could split one portion and have leftovers.
Whenever I’m home sick I come to las delicias. The food transports me instantly to the Dominican Republic. With their authentic Dominican recipes it’s hard to stay away from this gem. One of the only places actually serving traditional meals from the Caribbean in our area. The portions are so much I usually split the food with my wife. Absolutely a 10/10 for its authenticity and continuity of serving our community in Syracuse. Recommend this to absolutely everyone.
This place was a little piece of the island. The owners, a Puerto Rican and a Dominican, hit the mark on what happens when Latinx cultures mix. The food was all sorts of island food. It included cabbage and oxtail in addition to the usual fare you'd expect from this type of restaurant. As we sat devouring our most delicious meal, we noted so many people of EVERY background stop by. There were many non-Spanish speakers reciting menu items with the ease of those who come there often. The owner struck a conversation with my teen, and it felt more like an aunt giving school advice to my son than someone we just connected with. It was lovely on every level. Prices are reasonable. Wish I had taken more pics, but we were hangry and couldn't wait. Would take the hour trip to eat here again.
I was craving empanadas and decided to stop by Las Delicias on my way home. I quickly parked on the street (there's barely street parking around the Westcott area) and went in to order. I got a chicken and cheese empanada as well as a beef and cheese empanada for about $6. My order was ready within 10 minutes. The empanadas were a good size. I think they could use a little more filling but were still very good. I loved the imprint on the dough!
The food is delicious, I just wish their empanadas were bigger like the other Spanish restaurants in Syracuse.
Tasty food, not enough staff. Order took too long (food was already prepared and ready, but not served for 20+ min). The food was excellent though, it was worth the wait.
The food is good the amount of food makes it worth it but dont expect to be waited on theres one lady who cashes out waits on tables and fixes plates we sat for a long while as she fixed plates cashed out and took to go orders so we got in line too and got ours to go.
Since it is one of the only Hispanic food places around it takes forever for deliveries but in restaurant service is speedy. I love the empanadas, the chicken, and just about everything there.
Great food. If you're sick the chicken soup is a miracle cure... Generous portions and wonderful hostesses to serve you... A must visit!
The food lives up to its name. The ambience won't bring you in, but the mofungo and pernil will bring you back. Be patient with the wait staff, it's worth it.
I luv this place... I discovered this place while doing food delivery... Thank uuu. Thank uuu. Thank uuu. The name says it all. Lolz, even though we in New York.. So I will call it,,,, CNY Delicias. Try it and open your food options to greatness.
Authentic menu choice with some variation on taste compared to home and other restaurants. Typical as everyone has their own recipes of course. It was appetizing with good sized portions!
After reading the reviews for this place, and having never tried Dominican food before we were delighted! The service is friendly and inefficient just like the reviews claim. The restaurant itself could be much cleaner but the food was excellent. Generous portions, delicious flavor. It feels authentic in every way. We will brave the grunge and go back many times.
Food was delicious, atmosphere was upbeat and waitress/cashier is always so friendly. However, the service time is, as usual, an issue. She is often overwhelmed, trying to service to-go orders at the counter and the dining room. Because of this, be prepared to wait, even if you call in your order ahead of time, especially late afternoon or evening. I love this place and recommend it.
If you love Dominican, Spanish food this is the place you want to be in Syracuse. I have yet to find any other place that can compare. They are the best by far! The yellow rice is real, not that Goya rice out the box! I love them, been going to them for years and will continue. They're located on Westcott which is considered the University area so parking is a little tough to find at times but its worth it.
Not quite rude, not exactly friendly... the mofongo is a little bland, but it's good food. Next time I'll just get delivery.
Gave 3 stars because the food is great 👍🏾. But the service is reallyy slow need more help. Went there on my lunch break I only get 30 minutes spent 20 minutes waiting it was me and one other person. Didn't understand why the service was so slow
Friendly service & oxtail was good but it would have been nice if they filled the container more than 3/4 of the way. Also, the maduros were not ripe enough. The place is a little pricey for a cafeteria-style restaurant.
Food was good but customer service was terrible . The cashier was very rude and disrespectful when I asked her simple questions about things that came in the food because of food allergens. Will not be going again .
disappointed at how greasy the food was, and the quality of the ingredients left a lot to be desired. also saw them at the fair and had the “cuban sandwich” and it was absolutely terrible.
Great food if you don't mind waiting an hour for it. Not so busy but no urgency to take your order or to cook it.
I try firts time today .So disappoint 😕 to much money for empanadas really small , not a good taste , i prefer Don Juan cafe they big and $ less or i just make my own 👍
they can do a better job at staffing. when i went in the only person working the whole front restaurant was a obese young hispanic woman who could not carry herself with more attitude or she would probably explode. they keep their food basically in a buffet style warmer and serve it out based on your order so its not made to order unless you ask for something they ran out of and you will sit there waiting 15 minutes so they can fry plantains (does not take that long!) i ordered an oxtail and plantains and paid almost 20 dollars and between the hog w all the attitude, the wait time, and the money.... the quality of the food should have been much better. disappointed. will try different dishes bc ive heard good things about the chef. again, all the great carribean food is down in nyc if you must...go here. but have caution when dealing with THE GIRL who works there
First, we got hung up on by the person taking our order. We decided to order online (because of the lack of authentic Spanish food in the area). Told 20 minutes, took twice as long. Half of the things we ordered they were out of, and they were out of the replacements we wanted as well. The empanadas were tasteless and gross (which was the whole reason I wanted Spanish). The Pechuga de pollo salteada was cold, even though it was the last thing they made. It was tasty but I shouldn't have to warm up food I just picked up. Will not go back.
Walked in and looks like a hole in the wall, but that's ok, cause I've had some good food come from hole in the walls.. I walked up to where the food was at and I didn't get a hello or nothing. Looks like a sweet girl, but with no training.. I had to ask her for attention... I ordered oxtail and it could've been better.. it needs tomato sauce, fresh herbs, and less oil. Rice and beans were good. Whoever is running the place, you need to watch some videos or tv shows on how to improve your service and food.. what can u do to make it better? I know it costs money, but the little things u do will draw back customers even if u charge the customer more money. Believe me, they will pay if it's more unique. Make people say, "Damn that's good.. how did u make that dish.. I'll be back for more!" I hope this is taken as constructive criticism, because I want to see a successful Latino restaurant grow.
Not sure what happen but i been eating here since they arrived in Westcott & i can positively say that the food is NOT the same Flavor is gone, food juice is watered down & the oxtail meat is Far from cooked properly its rough & unpleasant to chew where as it use to fall off the bone. Yall need to get it 2gether THIS HAS DEFINITELY GONE DOWN.
They should just take Oxtails off the menu because it's never available .. started calling to see if they have them instead of wasting gas. Chick at the from always says "Later" but it's a lil.. just be honest
they always get something in your order wrong. if i pay a dollar extra for garlic sauce for my tostones then i should have garlic sauce when it gets delivered. i don't understand why something stupid like this would happen
Food was delayed for about an hour and a half before I called back and they told me that it hadn’t been prepared/ sent out because the lady who took my order didn’t ask for my phone number. Will not be ordering again
This is NOT real Dominican food! Everything tasted bland, was not properly seasoned. Tasted like they just threw salt on it and that’s it. They did not get our order of empanada type correct and the empanada is not worth the price, it’s small and barely filled. My mofongo came with no type of sauce and the fried chicken looked and tasted old. The biste came burnt and the white and yellow rice tasted like nothing as well. Complete disappointment I do NOT recommend and will never order from here again. I have no clue how it has 4 stars gross!
Food is good, but hour of operations are false. I came her at 1:30pm and the business was closed. I wasted my time and gas, I will not come back here
I don't know wht happened....my cabbage was raw and oxtail chewy...under cooked thy used to fall off the bone....beans taste bland...This was one of my favorite stops in the 315 when in town ...thy robbed me out of $47.00...Thy gotta be under new management...Gas is too high for the BS🤢🤮🤬
Good food but the absolute worst customer service. Been quite a few times and experience was the same everytime with different cashiers. Very slow also. Even with the food that is already made it is still at least a 15 minute wait. Never open on time. When I asked how long it would be for plantains, the response was "I don't know". This will be my last time here.
I don't know what happened to this place...this used to be THE spot to eat at. Now the servers are rude...they never have the food that they advertise no matter what time you go in there. It's not all that clean in there. They have really gone downhill. Bump it...fo some place else. Hell, stay home an cook your own food; you'll be better off.
In my first and only experience with the place I ordered a Cuban Sandwich, 2 BEEF and cheese empanadas, and 2 BROCCOLI and cheese empanadas. What I ended up getting was 2 CHICKEN and cheese empanadas, 2 SPINACH and cheese empanadas and a FOOD POISON sandwich. Smh it’s isn’t a post out it angry I’m honestly disappointed. I hear such great things about the place and I was let down in my first trip.
Really good food, but the costumer service is terrible. The lady there is on her personal phone and the costumers waiting in front of her, She didn’t care. Has some rude expressions when she talk to the costumer. Bad service. Terrible experience. Food was delicious.
Horrible service, walked in and the lobby was empty and my wife, my son and I sat down and waited sitting down for 10 mins until getting tired of waiting. So I get up and asked the server " excuse me, who do we order through?" Her response sarcastically " through the menus". I kept my composure said "okay thanks" went back to the table, grabbed my family and left. Never again !!!!
I ordered a few items for delivery. It was going to be dinner for my family. Unfortunately, the driver didn't bring one of the items that I ordered and I couldn't get a refund. The food was mediocre at best.
I don’t know if you got a new cook but the food was horrible my stew chicken was dry and rubbery and my cabbage was loaded with onions
I ordered rice and pork. It came with a salad in the same box as my rice and pork. I had a slimy tomatoe on my rice and my pork tasted like lettuce..... Save your money and order else where. They cant even do the common decency of seperating your side salad (which i didnt even order).
Ordered delivery online said food will be here 2:30 its now 3:10 i just hope the food is worth the wait #AhungryGirl so i finally got my food its was so cold and they gave me lemon cake insted of lemonade i will never order from there again wasnt worth it to much hassle i got a refund on my 17.75 the steak was cooked well but no empanadas i ordered 3 waz very upset and disappointed
Food was awful. I had high hopes for my Puerto Rican heritage but my meal left me extremely disappointed. Tostone steak sandwich was so thick and not crispy, it was like eating an unsalted potato wedge and chewy steak. The carne frita dinner was literally just pieces of fat with no crunch, the maduros were hard and lacked sweetness from not being ripe at all. When I informed them about my order, the manager was extremely disrespectful and thought profanity instead of proper customer service was the right course of action, which led me to writing this review. I will not be giving Las Delicias my business, and I hope they learn to treat their patrons better because some of us actually know what this delicious cuisine is meant to taste like.
We decided we wanted to get some “Authentic” Spanish food for date night. I called ahead to order. I asked the lady for two orders of rice, pernil, and sweet plantains. I told her I wouldn’t be getting it till 7pm she told me “No problem, I’ll reserve it for you.” We drove all the way from a different town. I get there. Food looks completely gone. I said “I called for the two orders.” She told me to hold on. I was thinking she was getting my order. She went to the back. Came back out to help another customer. The guy from the kitchen came out and grabbed a metal container of food from a fridge. He whistled from the back, she went back there again and didn’t even acknowledge me. At this point I already knew what was happening. They were reheating food. I left. Thank god I went with my instincts and with what some of the reviews said and didn’t spend my hard earned money for food I would not have eaten. It’s really disappointing to see how they advertise “Authentic” and that is not the case at all.
Overpriced and not worth it. I was told not to eat the food until I got home because it was so hot but They purposely gave me the wrong kind of empanada smh sad . Then old overpriced food …..Business won’t last long . 33.88 for one dinner plate, a can soda and four empanadas?! The least you can do is get the order right.
I ordered the fried pork and yellow rice and cabbage which came to $17.50 the fried pork was super dry and tough and a tiny portion size, they through a bunch of raw onions on top of the yellow rice. I couldn't figure out what that was all about. I had to fight the impulse to not throw the entire meal in the garbage. I will never go back there again. I wish I could give Las Delicias zero stars they our worthy of that bad rating.
09/11/2019 Hit & miss, my mom ordered Oxtails me Stewed chicken. She said hers was good. The last time I had stewed chicken it was decent. The chicken was dry, rice and chicken was Pretty bland tonight. I should never have to doctor up my food. I will not be returning since consistency is of no importance.
Ordered through DoorDash for the first time and was told the order would be ready at 6:05pm. Arrived at 6:02 and the only person in the establishment that I saw was a man sitting at a table on his phone who didn't even acknowledge that there was a customer in the room. When the girl working the counter came out, she was very polite and had my order ready immediately. Got home to eat, which was only a 8 minute drive, and found all of the food was absolutely terrible. The fried plantains were ice cold, dry and flavorless. We paid extra for the mayo ketchup and didn't even receive any. The boneless fried chicken my wife ordered was cold and flavorless as well. The only decent part of the chicken dish was the rice with pigeon peas had good flavor but was also cold. I got a small Cuban Sandwich and when I opened the box it was absolutely huge, so I could only imagine how massive a large would have been. However, it was also ice cold and tasted like it had been prepared an hour ago. There were no pickles nor mustard on the sandwich and it was made with what seemed and tastes like Kraft American Cheese Singles. The pulled pork was actually extremely flavorful, but when you forget two of the four ingredients and use the wrong cheese, one ingredient being great is a moot point. The cinnamon apple empanada tasted like canned pie filling, the beef empanada had a tablespoon of ground beef inside a large empanada pocket and the Romeo and Juliet empanada could have been great in flavor if it wasn't also ice cold. Extremely disappointed in the food. Only positive of the entire experience was that DoorDash refunded me the money I spent on trying a new restaurant. Will never try this place again and will do my best to steer anyone who wants to try Las Delicias in another direction.
I called to order and I was placed on a 15 minute hold. Once I was able to order, the cashier instantly gave the phone to someone else so I could provide them with my credit card information. The guy gets on the phone yells "She has 20 people in front of her, so you need to speak louder". I simply said never mind due to the poor customer service. I order here ALL the time and I am simply over the rudeness.
They never have an accurate menu or update pricing online. Not a consistent restaurant despite the food being good. Just false advertising that I assume isn’t malicious, just super inconvenient for the customer for years now.
Horrible place and rude.. Dont go here. Over priced as well.. I'd rather go pay someone else more money.
Crazy experience waited half an hour in store to pick up food and the lady just kept yapping to customers cashing out. Speed it up people I just want my food.
This is NOT a Real Puerto Rican restaurant! This is La Disgusting Restaurant! No wonder I never bothered ordering from this Restaurant!!!!
The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional! The food is terrible and overpriced! Absolutely the worst place I have ever been to. They deserve a negative score.
This is NOT good Puerto Rican/ Dominican food $5 for an empanada is insane, for the size, taste and lack of filling not even in NYC ($3/4 dollars for double the size, filling and better taste) The selection at the “hot” bar was Extremely limited. The Rice w/ pea’s were bland, lacked seasoning The Sweet plantains were cold and the baked chicken was not it. Also lacked flavor and seasoning. Especially for $19. I think they should reevaluate their cooks and menu opts and pricing.
I prepaid and ordered a meal on an App. It listed the pick up time of 6-9. I arrived at 7:45PM and the place was closed, the sign on the business read closing time was 8:00PM. Needless to say, I wasn't able to actually taste any of the food. I did call the business but was treated extremely rude by some lady that wouldn't verify if she was the owner or not. I have never been this disrespectful and lectured by any of the businesses I've reviewed. I have heard the food is very good, so that I can't comment on. I love empanadas so I will continue going to other restaurants for their products, but I definitely won't be back at las Delicias. I hope they have a successful business.
I went on my lunch break shop was completely empty I stoop at register for ten minutes no service I spoke up said hey can I place a order the worker was extremely rude I will never ever entertain place again very rude and unprofessional you should definitely steer clear of this dump
