Nostalgic vibes that brought back memories of going to your mom's for dinner. The food was delicious and good size servings. I got the meatloaf that was very tasty. My husband had the double cheeseburger and it was delicious bring back memories of burgers from yesteryear! The total, including tip, was only $30. We will be back!
Walking in was almost like walking back in time. A lot of couples and families were inside dining together. The wall art and the atmosphere really made the feeling that you were dining in the 60's. Definitely one of my favorite places in Texarkana by far. The food was delicious and good quality for the prices. For drinks, burgers, and fries, we spent $27 and we weren't even able to eat everything. I overheard that the Pecan Pie was 'out of this world'. Definitely give this place a visit if you're in the area.
It pretty awesome lunch, price was right.
Wonderful home style cooking friendly staff old time atmosphere love it!
Food was so good I've been back once a week since I went the first time!
⭐Super cute diner with delicious food and the sweetest service! Sue N’ Carol’s Kitchen feels like one of those hometown spots you just stumble on and instantly love. It’s family-owned, cozy, and only a few minutes off the interstate — definitely worth the short detour. We ordered: • Chicken Fried Steak (my friend’s) • Chicken Fried Chicken with crispy battered chicken (mine!) • Fried Okra and Mashed Potatoes (both were perfect) • Fresh rolls, biscuits, and cornbread — all homemade and served with butter. We asked for honey, and they happily brought some over. • Carrot Cake for dessert (they were out of pie since we got there late, but I’m already planning to come back for that Strawberry Pie next time!) The sweet tea hit the spot, and our waitress was so sweet — she even sent us off with to-go teas for the road. The portions were generous, the prices were great, and everything tasted delicious and homemade. It’s got that warm, small-town-charm feel right in Texarkana. We’ll definitely stop again next time we’re passing through.
Family owned since 1975 and committed to providing an amazing meal and experience for everyone. The homemade biscuits (made to order) are a must-have. Thank you for making my hometown return visit special. Skyla, our server, was amazing.
The food is always great here. Prices are low and the staff is friendly.
Great likely to visit soon I wish there was more leg room but the restaurant can seat your whole family and then sumn. I had the cheeseburger and it was nothing like the one from Waffle House so that's checkmark in my book*
Places like this are a rare and wonderful find. The food taste as if my granny cooked it. Prices and portions were spot on. Coffee was perfect. I had the chicken fried steak with green beans and mac n cheese. You also get a basket with rolls and cornbread. Wish I didn't live 3.5hrs away cause I would come all the time.
Well my wife loves local places for a good breakfast. So we found this local place coming home from Dallas. Only trouble was they stop breakfast at 10:00 AM on Fridays to get fish ready. So we reluctantly ordered the fish dinner at 10:45. We were pleasantly surprised- fish was meaty, fries excellent, hush puppies were good and service was outstanding. With that being said, actual breakfast will be next trip through
Loved it. Stopped for breakfast on a Monday morning and it felt like being in your mommas kitchen. Love the atmosphere of regulars sitting around chatting and cutting up. An older couple rolled up in an old international truck and my 11 year old was mesmerized. All the old Coca Cola decorations and other memorabilia from the lifetime of the business. If you want a nostalgic feeling this is it. Food was great and the staff were extremely friendly.
This place was nice and cozy like eating at home with mama. I had the chicken fried steak and it was great. You can tell everything is cooked when ordered and comes to your table fresh off the griddle. My wife and I can't wait to come here again when we're back in Texarkana. 👍
We stopped at Sue N Carol’s on a road trip back home to Texas. We were looking for a good breakfast spot that wasn’t a chain restaurant. This place delivered. We ordered a few 2 egg specials, a breakfast burrito, a western omelet, and some hotcakes. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was like having Grandma make us breakfast. The coffee was good and we got some for the road. Hopefully next time we drive through our timing will work out and we can try lunch. Highly recommend!
I always seek out small local diners when I travel. This was my first visit to this location. Eggs, bacon, home fries and toast is my regular go to for breakfast. This particular mornjng everything tasted excellent! I would absolutely return and if I lived here this would become a regular morning stop.
Good small town folks eatery. friendly atmosphere, polite servers, place is clean ! food is OK.
Food really had no flavor. Bacon seem like it seat in greece . The eags had no flavor. The gravy tastes like lard.
The only problem was the faint smell of a sewer, wgich was more pronounced in the restroom. Thankfully, i did not get sick from eating there. Every small place, not much parking.
This is your friendly neighborhood breakfast cafe. The portions are generous and the sweet tea is terrific. The prices are kind to your wallet. The pancakes didn't really match my taste preference and they ran out of biscuits which was a bummer. Though as a tourist I wouldn't necessarily revisit, I wouldn't hesitate to return if I was a local. Overall good food and friendly service.
