Opiniones de Moqueca Thousand Oaks
The food was amazing. We loved the restaurant, so clean and well decorated. Service was also very good. We will be back.
I really liked it. I thought better than I used to go in sao paulo. Amazing moqueca shrimp and lobster.
Such a treat to go here. I've dined here just a handful of times over the past 5 years and it's consistently wonderful. Servers are lovely! This time I ordered two of the traditional cocktails, Caipirinha and they were SO good. This restaurant has gotten more popular - def make a reservation, at least on the weekends.
What lovely restaurant in the heart of Thousand Oaks. Quite close to the civic center for dinner before an event. Fish soup is their specialty. I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices. Appetizers and main courses (I had the white sea bass) were full of flavor...I kept thinking of the "flavor party" happening in my mouth after every bite. Plenty of close parking, staff was pleasant, helpful & efficient. I give this place two thumbs up and plan to visit again soon. Oh yes, do try the coconut flan for desert...you'll thank me.
Amazing at every level. Food is top notch, high quality and staff is top tier. Heart of Palm appetizer with bread is a staple. we tried the steak skewers tonight and they were amazing as well. Dessert menu just showed up so I’m going to stop typing.
Lovely dinner! The waiter was extremely helpful and friendly, and his recommendations did not disappoint. Definitely recommend the signature dish- the moqueca. The shrimp and shellfish were cooked beautifully and if you aren't familiar with Brazilian cuisine, this is a great introduction to it. Atmosphere is very calm and welcoming, so much so that it was lovely even on a quiet Monday evening. Perfect for birthdays, date nights, or work events.
My husband and I enjoy having Lunch here. The food is delicious and well prepared. Our favorite dish is Moqueca with fish and shrimp. Their cocktails are very flavorful “Brazilian Rose” is my favorite. Banana Frita (fried plantains) are always included. Service is great and prompt.
Moqueca was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday! The server was enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the dishes and guided us in our selections. The appetizers and main cuisine dishes had an amazing taste profile! We look forward to our next visit and highly recommend!
The food here is very unique. The dishes are well made and very filling. I like the food here. Drinks are just alright.
Came in with my mother and ordered palm hearts salad, yucca, fried plantains & skewers. 10/10 for all dishes! Service was excellent and the food was exceptional! I have tried fried yucca in the past, and this blew it out of the water. Will be coming again very soon!
Moqueca. Never heard of it until it was recommended. Now one of my favorite dishes ever. I had the fish and shrimp. Its served in a broth made from tomatoes onions garlic cilantro coconut milk and lime juice. This place is a must try if you like seafood. The scallops were fantastic as well. I may go back today...
This place is top notch. They have delicious food, friendly service, and fantastic cocktails. The food is traditional and it's a great place to go if you are looking for something different and impressive. The paella moqueca and the fish moqueca were so good and fresh. I highly recommend this place.
BRAZIL 🇧🇷 Excerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles: Right off of Thousand Oaks' main drag and anchoring the west end of a new-ish strip mall, Oxnard's beloved Moqueca Brazilian Restaurant has expanded to a second location that is almost four years old now. For those driving from Los Angeles County, travel times to enjoy the wonderful seafood stews of Brazil's Espírito Santo state have been cut down with easy to access right off the 101. The namesake dish of the restaurant is also served in the state of Bahia, but even these neighbors have very distinct regional variations. The more northern version in that state is known as moqueca baiana or moqueca peixada, and is a further evolution of the moqueca capixaba from Espírito Santo. The version from Bahia takes local African and Portuguese influences, adding more palm oil and coconut milk. The moquecas offered here are of course the capixaba versions, which are lighter because of their use of extra virgin olive oil rather than palm oil. Only a touch of coconut milk is added, along with urucum essence in the tomato-based stew. The moqueca is always a seafood dish, but there are many options. For a bowl of good variety, the moqueca de peixe com mariscos ($27), is a good choice including large high-quality cuts of whitefish and a mix of shellfish.
Came here for our anniversary dinner and was pleasantly surprised with how amazing this place is! Our sever Rodrigo is was the BEST, from his knowledge on the menu to his work ethic and personality really made our visit special. The food was fresh and spectacular, will definitely be back to have another great experience here again. The food runner Omar was also excellent with service and so friendly!
Food was delicious, and they have a quality wine list. The steam was cooked perfectly, and staff was extremely attentive and friendly.
Very quaint, tucked in the corner, with inside and outside dining available. One word to describe the food: ridiculous! Layers of flavors you will come back for again and again! I had the fish Moqueca: Mahi-Mahi, perfectly cooked in a clay pot with an amazingly rich and flavorful sauce of fresh tomatoes, onions, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, brazilian seasoning, and a splash of coconut milk. Scoop some brazilian white rice on your plate, drizzle with chili oil, top with the Moqueca...OMG...sooo delicious! My husband had the Lobster and seafood mix Moqueca...same exact experience. We added a side salad and collard greens. They were not your typical southern collard greens, but delicious just the same. They were thinly chopped, cooked a bright green tossed in olive oil, toasted garlic, and just the right amount of seasoning. Topped it off with a slice of guava cheesecake. The service was friendly and professional. They were very patient and knowledgeable about the food. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion! Thank you Moqueca!!

Superb food and service is the only way I can describe this restaurant. A must try!!! Moqueca is a Brazilian sea food love story and they tell this story really well!
We came in for an early Valentine’s celebration and had a wonderful experience. We started with the scallops as an appetizer — absolutely delicious. For our main course, we shared the small sea bass and the seafood moqueca, and both were outstanding. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service was prompt, super friendly, and very welcoming. Our server was attentive and personable, which made the evening even more enjoyable. He recommended the coconut flan for dessert, and it did not disappoint — it was excellent. We will definitely be back.
I've lived in TO for 5 years and have been meaning to go here for about that long. Well, I FINALLY got around to it, and now I feel like an idiot for depriving myself of some AMAZING food for this long. This place was phenomenal. It surpassed all my expectations in, not just the food, but the drinks and the service as well. Outstanding all around.
One of the best restaurants I've been to in a while. I had the seabass Moqueca. Everyone enjoyed their food. Even the flan was one of the best I've ever had. Service was also excellent. If I lived closer, I'd go back often.
First time eating here, it was really good. We had the double order of Sea bass (2x) for 5 people. Plenty of food. I loved the sauce that came with it. I will return this was very enjoyable.

I came here based on the great reviews but it seems it was long time ago, i tried the Scallops was ok but small, the chicken coxinhas was a bit over cooked, the picanha was not juicy and tasteless, than we return it and change it with beef Stroganoff with Pasta, the shrimps lobster Moquca, And was watery sauce did not like it. Thanks Jose for the great service.
