Amazing sandwiches esp the Cubana. Old fashioned coke bottles and lots of great sides. A treasure.

Great experience from start to finish food was fresh and came out fast. The bun was nice I was scared it was gonna be tough and chewy but I was pleasantly surprised. The flavours were beautiful. My only regret was the missing of pickles on the cubana sandwich. The churros were soft and more airy than I typically like but all and all it was a great meal. Definitely grab some house pickles jars and carrots! Limited seating

First of all when I walked in this place I immediately loved the vibe it was relaxed yet vibrant with the colourful decor and music. The Poblana sandwich was excellent. I didn't expect the bread to be so light, it went perfectly with the heavy fillings. The mole was flavourful, chicken moist, it worked so well. Every bite was an explosion of flavour. I'll be going back to try every single other sandwich.

The tortas were delicious! It feels super authentic and has a pretty big menu and little extras like a mini Mexican candy shop. The lemonade was fresh and bit too sugary. The staff were really friendly and the place has a cool vibe.

Really good Latin food nestled into Kensington Market. This was my first time there and would definately go again. It's kind of diner-esque with a few tables. There were many options and we ordered a few different items to get a good taste of their offerings and every order was amazing.

Food here is delicious and tasty... They have the best Tortas mexicanas in downtown Toronto, fresh made sandwiches Mexican style. The Flautas and the corn on the cob is a must try. Staff always very friendly, restaurant looks very clean and is well located in the heart of Kensington market. Worth a visit if you are hungry by Chinatown.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had anywhere. Excellent bread and ratio of bread to filling was perfect. Flavors of each sandwich were amazing. Heavenly. Highly recommend

Delicious sandwich. The chicken meat and sauces used were very nice. Excellent for a little snack whilst browsing through Kensington Market.

Fantastic Torta sandwiches. Be sure to try the pickled Jalapeno's at the pick up counter. Adds a nice burst of flavour to each bite.

Torteira San Cosme is truly amazing! This will be my go to spot anytime I go back to Kensington Market. The Cubana was out of this world and was one of the best sandwiches I've had in Toronto.

I've tried their Chicken Milanesa, Cubana and Del Chavo sandwiches. All were delicious and the price for what you get is impressive. Don't forget the pickled jalapenos and onions on the side!

We ordered the La Cubana and the Del Chavo. I really enjoyed the porky taste of La Cubana (Roasted adobo pork, ham, smoked bacon, gouda cheese, , tomato, avocado & house jalapeños). Great Quality Food. Great and Friendly Staffs! Over all it was a great visit. It was just a little challenging to find the spot. It is inside MILAGRO.

Famous Kensington transplant in the Entertainment District. The nopales torta is easily one of the best sandwiches I’ve eaten this year. I got the beans as a side and my partner got the esquites. I definitely recommend the esquites. It brought me straight back to Mexico City sidewalk night strolls. The jamaica is good and not too sweet. Beautiful space too, and I love being able to witness all the kitchen action across the counter.

Excelente calidad y servicio, todo muy rico aparte super honestos todos en el restaurante, resulta que fui a comer ahí con mi familia y al salir de ahí a mi hija se le olvidó su bolso con un celular y dinero adentro, cuando regrese al día siguiente a buscar el bolso, muy amables me lo entregaron con todo su contenido en su lugar, gracias San Cosme 100% recomendables. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Torta Cubana has an authentic mexican flavor, would order it again. The esquite is overpriced, being made with yellow corn instead of white corn and could use some mexican mayo like McCormick. I regret convert my single torta order to an esquite combo. Is it worth the visit? Absolutely yes (but don't ask for an esquite).

These traditional Mexican sandwiches are so on point. They are great for any time of the day imo. We stopped by here for a little brunch torta in Kensington Market on a chilly day. My YEA and I decided on the egg, bacon, and avocado torta as a nice start to the day. I always find these sandwiches to be quite generous so I usually can share this with my YEA and it is enough for the both of us. The sandwich was super-hearty with the nice fluffy egg omelette stacked on top of a few thick slices of bacon, re-fried beans, tomatoes, and avocado. The bun didn’t get soggy and was able to take the impact of the ingredient it was trying to keep contained. If you slip a few slices of their pickled jalapeños into the sandwich, it just add a sweet and spicy dimension that gets you going. You can’t go wrong with this spot if you are looking for a delicious sandwich with some flair and flavour.

When I walked in, I felt like I was at a food stand in Latin America. It was awesome. A lot of authentic snack items (candy, pop) and condiments available. I had a tamarindo which tasted so delicious and an elote, generously covered with cheese and condiments. My friend got a chicken sandwich which she liked as well. The place was clean and nicely decorated. The staff were also friendly. And the prices were great! And it's authentic Mexican food! I'm definitely coming back!

First time trying Mexican sandwiches. They were good but not delicious. If you enjoy trying new things and listening to (loud) typical Mexican music this is the place for you. Each tortilla is around $10. Staff speaks Spanish and English.

Really liked the place and the food in general, the sandwich’s bread was so good, right amount of seasoning and sauce however the steak itself was very thin slice and I wish it was a bit more specially for what you pay, you expect the quantity of meat be in average range of other restaurants around Kengsington.

Variety of different Mexican food. Atmosphere and decoration is pretty legit. Flavor is good.

We got two tortas that were from here but through the Milagro cross-sell, interesting that that's how this spot is set up. The sandwiches were great and we were able to take them into TIFF for our movie. We asked for jalapenos on the side, which was a good decision in retrospect because it wasn't as spicy as usual Latin American food can be. We also had a horchata each and that was also great.

Great canteen inside of a larger restaurant. Pretty good sandwiches that are so well filled they fall apart when you eat them! The Cubana is very good and well worth it.

Went to their pop up inside the Milago Mexican restaurant (adjacent to Nobu) Limited seating, 5 stools at a counter facing kitchen, can't get more homier then this, watching staff cook your order right in front of your eyes. Ordered their Cubana sandwich and chorizo quesadillas Sandwich had thick char grilled pork slices in addition to the normal Cubana ingredients, ham, cheese, bacon, tomatoes, jalapenos, pickles, etc. Bread toasted with a nice crunchy exterior. Quesadillas generously filled with cheese and minced chorizo grilled on a flat top. Although I wouldn't consider a Cubana sandwich a Mexican dish, they pulled it off very well. The quesadillas were grilled well although I thought they were too generous with the cheese which overwhelmed the chorizo and flour tortillas. Finally found a Mexican pop up in a Mexican restaurant, I can cross that off my bucket list now, lol.

At Person airport, i ordered the La Mexicana egg sandwich for breakfast, with a side of fries, it all came to ~ $20 cad, which is a bit steep, although not surprisingly for Toronto. But the sandwich was excellent actually, bun was fresh, and omlete egg was cooked perfectly and the Mexican taste was very delicious. I would definetely come back again and maybe try other options.

If the server asks whether you want chips, ask how much first. I made a mistake of just saying "sure", and they charged $17 for some chips and guacamole. I thought it would be max $10, but that's way overpriced. Other food was pretty good.

The esquites is delicious! I love the kick of spice at the end of your bite! The tortas themselves were mediocre. I've definitely had a better tasting one but it's still good if you are hungry and need something substantial to eat!

Looks amazing, but just above average tasting food. Paid $13 for a sandwich, that was mostly bread. I suggest trying the Adobada Steak Sandwich!

Inattentive, slow, mistake ridden, all around poor service. I had to remind my server multiple times of my order for various items that didn't show up. The first time my bill arrived it it didn't have my to-go order and it turned out that order had never been put in. The torta's are very small, particularly the cochinita. Muddled flavors, dry pork (it's slow roasted suckling pig, should never be dry). I can't recommend the torta nor the torteria as a whole. The restaurant was maybe a quarter full at the time.

La tortería fue diseñada de forma muy creativa, pues simula un puesto típico de un mercado mexicano.Los precios no me parecieron elevados.

They made me wait longer than it says on the app(over 25min) and when we asked again our order had been ready in front of us about 10 min, they don’t have what the are offering in the webpage, and the tortas are kinda empty for what we paid

Did take-out since I was craving a mexican torta, guac and salsa. Not much authentic flavours in there. I feel that this place is craving for a plain audience that isn't looking for strong-bold real mexican taste.

Had the huevo con chorizo, which is a brunch las tortas. Very heavy and filling. It looks great but to be honest, it had too much going on and had a very mushy texture. It was difficult to distinguish anything in particular.

The Tortas here used to be great, not sure what happened. You guys are cheaping out now with ingredients, very disappointed. There’s nothing worse than a place that used to be good. You seriously call this a torta with avocado? You really think customers are going to keep coming back?

Malo, comida fría y de mal sabor

Mediocre food and terrible service. I came in to an empty restaurant and tried to order. There was about five staff standing around doing nothing while I waited several minutes for someone to help me. Then they somehow managed to give me the wrong sandwich even though I was the only order they were preparing. The Cubano is not good at all, you’re better off just getting a proper Cubano elsewhere.

This review is for the airport location. The juevos rancheros I had was comically bad. 2 almost raw eggs (that smelled quite sulphurous), on two stone cold tortillas, with a tiny cup of refried beans that I think was just a few black beans blended in the juice from the can. That's it. On top of that, the cashier "accidentally" added a drink to my order that I did not ask for or notice until after paying, that she wouldn't refund.

This "permanent pop-up" is located within another restaurant called Milagro Cantina. The sign outside fell over so it took me 10 extra minutes to find it. Get some proper signage! Ordered only a conchinita sandwich for lunch and was promised it would be quick. 25 minutes later my sandwich arrives with no apology, leaving me no time to eat it at the counter. Restaurant was not busy. 5 chefs in the kitchen and none of them look busy. They prioritize the meals for the main restaurant it seems. Pork meat was dry and burnt coz I witnessed the cook leave it on the griddle way too long. See pics for proof. Terrible first experience. Be warned.

This is the cubano sandwich?!? Looks nothing like the other photos I saw online. I came because it’s listed on a best sandwiches in Toronto list and this is worse than airport food. Waste of $28 for this expensive mistake.

Mi experiencia fue malísima. El lugar NO es el de las fotos, es una barra con 4 sillas, está en el lobby de otro restaurante, que atiende la misma gente del restaurante y es la misma cocina del restaurante, pero si te quieres sentar en una mesa en lugar de la barra, no puedes comer tortas, solo cosas del restaurante. (Lo sé, suena complicado) Mi familia comió sentada en el restaurante y yo tuve que pararme de la mesa y comer en un lugar distinto solo para comer una torta. Pedi una torta Cubana, cuando le pedí al tortero que me partiera a la mitad la torta, me dijo que no, (no se si no quería o no sabía, no era mexicano) me pasó un cuchillo de su cocina y la partí yo mismo, la torta muy buena la verdad, de buena proporción. Cuando quise pagar mi cuenta no me aceptaron dinero, por más increíble que suene, mi dinero no me lo aceptaron, solo aceptan tarjeta, cuando saqué mi tarjeta para pagar, resultó que esa tarjeta no la aceptaban. Es complicado comer ahí, y el personal no ayuda mucho, al parecer ellos tampoco están muy enterados.
