Opiniones de Sabroso Troy
Heard about this spot from some friends and family. Tried it this weekend and was really impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. Got the chicken tinga tacos, chicken empanadas and the birria tacos. They all were very good but the birria tacos were our favorite; the meat was so tender, veggies were clearly very fresh, and the broth was delicious - didn’t leave a scrap of food on our plates. Prices were extremely reasonable for the portion sizes as well. This place is traditional from the food to the atmosphere, so we enjoyed staying and eating there as opposed to taking food to-go. We will be back
Stopped by after an early show at the Troy Music Hall. All the food was marvelous. We had chicken enchiladas with a well-made mole sauce, a delicious California Burrito with Birria, and carne asada that hit the spot. We will be back!
Have ordered from here 2x, overall has been really good. I've tried the Birria Tacos, the Cali burrito, tres leches cake, and the churros. I'd personally recommend the birria and the churros. Also had horchata for the first time and thought it was pretty good. Not the best Mexican food I've had in the area, but definitely not close to being the worse. Would definitely eat here again.
Wonderful family owned restaurant with amazing food. I tried the birria tacos and they were fantastic, will definitely be back to try other dishes!
Service was fast and friendly. Food was so good, we got a second portion to go.
This place is a hole in the wall- don’t sleep on it! Supremely delicious tacos! Really reasonably priced. Very kind family that runs it. Vibes are homey and warm and laid-back. Super fast service. Stop in!
Tried for the first time and loved the food here. We ordered chilaquiles, Fried Fish and the Birria tacos with their Aguas Frescas. The red sauce on the chilaquiles is actually spicy and builds on itself. The Tamarind and Jamacia is great but def recommend the Jamacia. Best Mexican place in Troy!
Delicious authentic tacos for a reasonable price. We’ll definitely be back!!
Okay guys, this is the spot. I visit Mexico every couple months and I believe myself to be a taco guru at this point. This is the place for an authentic Mexican style meal. From the outside it looks a little shady, not much signage and kind of looks run down, but those are the best spots right? Hidden gem. The prices are typical ranging 10-13$ for tacos, quesadilla. Which are both very tasty. My friend and I ordered the chips and guac for a starter along with the chicken empanadas. Both were very well-made, and for our main plate we got Bierria tacos and chicken tacos. They were so good I had to save some and bring it to my sister who is also a big taco fanatic. On our way out I noticed a waiter bringing a table an order of churros, and after driving home I decided I had to drive back and get an order of churros. They were AMAZING. Like out of this world good. Highly recommend this spot! Don’t be intimated when you walk in it is a family run spot and all the staff is very friendly plus the food is delish!! True authentic Mexican food at its finest!
I had chilaquiles and a cup of coffee for brunch! It was great as well as the atmosphere, Rey the owner was very kind and the food came out of the kitchen fairly quickly, I am Mexican, and I always appreciate real authentic Mexican food! I will be coming back again
The Birria Tacos was so good and fresh meat was very juicy the soup on the side was hot and flavorful highly recommend.I will definitely be back again this week lol absolutely loved the food
Absolutely fantastic! if I didn't live so far away I would be a regular. I've tried birria many places this place is top tier

Best Birras Tacos I've ever had. Would highly suggest.
Delicious Mexican food! Definitely worth the try.
Very authentic cuisine. Very reasonable prices
Delicious! Best Mexican food in the capital region. Friendly staff and great service!
This place has the best tacos around. The birria is great, but other tacos on offer were absolutely amazing as well. Homemade tortillas, great service, and excellent prices make this place an overall 10 out of 10 experience. Support this local business! Can't wait to go back!
Very much enjoyed the birria tacos! I had a special order (no onions, no cilantro) and they got it exactly right and labeled my take out container very clearly. Would definitely order take out from here again!
Delicious! Best Mexican food in the capital region. Friendly staff and great service!
Had amazing food and great service. We all wiped our plates clean and are definitely coming back. Staff was kind and helped accommodate meal requests as well!
I'm from California where there is no shortage of amazing Mexican food. This place is no different from the best food I grew up with in California. Phenomenal. Try the birra and dipping sauce. Oh my goodness.
The food here is 11/10. I got a California burrito and it was the best one I have had outside of Southern California. The green sauce was delicious, next time I’ll ask for hot sauce too. I also got Birria quesadillas for my boyfriend. absolutely killer !~ jugo de tamarindo and horchata were the icing on the cake. I will absolutely be back, and with friends next time! Best Mexican food in upstate new york !! thank you :)
The food is 100% authentic. Being from Sothern California I have VERY HIGH standards and I've been searching for that back at home , what I grew up with homemade taste. The food is so flavorful. Highly recommend the food & is my new favorite go to place when visiting. I will take the 4 hour drive just to pick up food from here. The ladies were so sweet & nice.
Solid choice for a casual dinner: The birria tacos, ironically, were the least loved of the dishes we ordered, but still pretty good- For tacos, a better place may be El Charro or La Capital Tacos The warm churros were a delicious way to end a meal. Tres leches cake was also pretty good, and probably average for the area. For those who don't shy away from non-conventional foods-- the Menudo is a must-try. Available only Friday-Monday: The stew is perfectly slow cooked with incredible, deep flavor-- I think this might be one of the best dishes you can order near Albany (that is, if you enjoy a good tripe and hock meal). The serving was generous and filling, and tasted like it was simmered for days and lovingly ladled into a bowl by your Mexican grandmother. It is absolutely worth a 5+ star on its own. This is our first meal at Sabroso and the review reflects first impressions: Sabroso seems to be an OK place to get relatively common standard Mexican-American food, but the less common choices may be what they are super good at.
The pico de Gallo is very good. You can taste the freshness. Just a little heavy on the onion. No problem they give you a fresh butter mint when your finished with your meal. The birria tacos were tender and cheesy, just wish the consomè had more flavor in the broth. The chips were fried just a tad bit too crunchy. The woman took our order was nice but seemed distracted. We ordered rice and beans on the side and they never came. They took it off the bill and for 2 orders of birria tacos with 2 extra tacos each and a chips and pico ended up being $40. The flavor is good just a bit fine tuning and they would kill the market in Taco Block Troy.
This is about as authentic as it gets, between the many Mexican flags and themed decorations, the (loud) mariachi music, and the customers and staff who all looked and spoke Mexican. The server's English was good enough to put the orders in without trouble. The birria chimichanga I got was very good, with juicy, tender meat and a good amount of cheese. It was securely wrapped without excess layers of tortilla. The empanadas, unfortunately, are not something I can recommend, nor the shredded beef with which they were filled. The dense dough and dry, underseasoned beef made for a bland dish. I will definitely come again, just not for the empanadas.

Decent, but forgettable. There are better Mexican places around with better food and service. Spend your money elsewhere, it’s pretty half-assed here
I ordered birria tacos, birria tostadas, and chicken tacos. Everything was disgusting! The birria taco was cold. The birria tostada wasn't even birria, it was just some dry beef. The chicken taco wasn't even chicken, it was steak and the steak was old! The sauces they gave us weren't even half full. Complete waste of money, never again.
