I have eaten here since its opening, celebrated many special events and casual dinners. 1. Reservation: recommended, but you will get a table just fine unless you come during special holidays. 2. Food: taste is good but I usually feel indigestion later. - tacos: great! - ceviche: was a bit disappointing. I normally like the taste - meat platter: huge and it is good! 3. Dessert: not good. The cakes are dry and tastes like they had it in the fridge for long 4. Drinks: mixed drinks are great! 5. Service: very accommodating and polite. 6. Ambience is welcoming, warm and can host both small and big parties, including business meetings. 7. Don't order takeout here! It travels poorly and doesn't taste good. Just need to eat it fresh. All in all, a great place.
I had such a great experience at Ometeo in Tysons. I sat dined in the Cadillac Lounge upstairs which has the cutest vibe. The DJ added so much energy to the space without being overwhelming. I ordered the guava and hibiscus margarita with mezcal and it was incredibly refreshing. I also had the fried cauliflower which was really good, and the Matamoros tacos which were absolutely amazing!!! So flavorful and well seasoned.
⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Dining Experience at OmeteO I recently visited OmeteO and had a truly wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and well-organized. The service was attentive, professional, and efficient throughout my visit. A special mention goes to Manager Noe, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. His friendly attitude and genuine hospitality made my experience even better and showed a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. The restaurant is beautifully maintained, the staff is respectful, and the overall ambiance creates a pleasant and enjoyable dining environment. I highly recommend OmeteO to anyone looking for great service, delicious food, and an outstanding overall experience
We visited during restaurant week and enjoyed sampling their brunch menu, which was fantastic! The restaurant is impressively large and spans two stories, with every corner thoughtfully designed. The vibrant colors and intricate details truly elevate the dining experience. The staff was exceptionally friendly and provided top-notch service, while the food was high-quality and made from fresh ingredients that tasted wonderful. Our experience at this Tex-Mex restaurant was nothing short of excellent— the food, drinks, service, and stylish atmosphere all came together seamlessly!
We had an amazing experience. Our waiter, Jose, was very kind and attentive. The staff was all very nice and made our family’s birthday celebration perfect.the food is actually so delicious and yummy. We will be returning again.
Absolutely loved our experience here! The food was delicious fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was cozy and stylish, with just the right vibe for a casual dinner or a special night out. Everything came together perfectly. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back
I visited Ometeo for the second time, and once again, it exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. They start you off with a delightful basket of chips and two delicious dips — truly outstanding! The appetizers were excellent, and every dish we ordered was full of flavor and made with high-quality ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience, and I will definitely be returning again soon.
We had an excellent meal at Ometeo. We enjoyed a variety of cocktails as well as delicious food. Huge shout out to Cindy for making sure I had plenty of vegetarian options and for the fantastic food and drink recommendations. We'll be back for sure!
Food was great, Drinks were smashing, vibrant atmosphere on a friday night. We came for a birthday dinner with friends and spent over $500, it was a great experience. Kids loved their food as well.
The atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is delicious! The menu is always evolving, but some classics like the lobster tostada and passionfruit oysters are always a hit. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, and you’ll definitely feel satisfied. The drink selection is great. The only thing missing is a truly amazing dessert—I’ve tried everything and would skip it now. The lounge is perfect for hosting family and friends. The service has improved a lot recently, with staff members who are very attentive and know their stuff. There’s also bar high chair seating for those who want to enjoy a drink. Parking is available within a 5-minute walk in an open lot, and it’s free for the first two hours.
My family and I went to Ometeo for dinner, and to say that it was amazing would be an understatement. From the moment we walked in everyone was so attentive and caring. The atmosphere was very nice, there was music and the dinning room which was filled to capacity was filled with chatter and ppl laughing and having a wonderful time. The food was absolutely delicious. The Ceviche was so good and the homemade salsa was so good. The appetizers and entrees were so beautifully garnished, they looked like something out of a magazine. The server, Sam was always around and attentive. I really recommend this place for family outings, dates, or just casual dinner experience
Modern Tex-Mex with a stylish interior. Happy hour has a variety of margaritas and entrees. The fajitas come with delicious melted cheese, though the meat wasn’t served sizzling. The juicy burger and fresh carnitas taco were both great. Friendly service and fun atmosphere.
Beautiful place. The food is innovative, creative, and most importantly delicious. Portion size is perfect and accurate and you will not leave hungry. Every single dish was amazingly unique, It was an absolute amazing experience. The servers did an excellent job explaining each course in detail. The presentation was impeccable. the flavors were unmistakably and deliciously Tex-Mex. The staff was wonderful they went above and beyond to accommodate a special request thank you to the chef and the kitchen team. I would highly recommend Ometeo We had an amazing experience.
Our experience at Ometeo was incredible. Between eating the food, enjoying the atmosphere and receiving exceptional service from the staff we kept remarking that we were truly blown away. Our server Cindy went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We hope they add their current special (aguachile negro) to the menu! The esquites was a great mixture of sweet, smoky and salty. The beef short rib (costillas & ayocotes) was so tender you could pull the meat off in one clean swipe. I enjoyed the add on of crispy manchego cheese with the steak tacos (matamoros tacos). We were sad we were too full to try their desserts. We will definitely be coming back :)
Quick and attentive service + the atmosphere is to die for. Food and drinks were not only visually appealing but so delicious. A thoughtful experience from start to finish - can’t wait to go back next time I’m in the area.
Oysters were delicious! Alex at the bar is amazing—friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable on the menu. Definitely coming back!
Food was great we got the 1 de Res con todo fajita beef and it was great. New place to come and enjoy again.
This large restaurant has a large outdoor seating in a bar outside. This is a multi-level restaurant with a very cute ambience and a separate bar area in their lounge upstairs. Very reminiscent of a resort lounge. The Margaritas are very good here. The Frozen carajillo has a coffee flavor with condensed milk drink which is delicious as a dessert drink. Our waiter suggested that we get the fajitas as they are popular here. We got the "de res con todo" It comes with three types of meat. Mainly It comes with skirt steak, crosscut beef rib, short rib with bone in". The fajitas came out hardly even warm a little bit disappointed because it usually comes out sizzling at most restaurants. Everything was a little bit room temperature. We were the last customers of the night so we are assuming that this is a rare event. The flavor of the skirt steak was delicious. Our second favorite was The crosscut beef rib. The short rib with bone is really tender but it lacks seasoning or flavoring. It would have been really good if it was flavored with seasoning. This is not your typical fajita since the sides that come with it was just rice, refried beans, Tortillas and cheese. It does not come with lettuce and tomato like other fajitas. We enjoyed our meal and really love looking at the decor in this restaurant. We like the fact that they actually have napkin rings around a napkin which is very cute. What a great place too hang out and have a drink and eat. Great ambience.
It is one of the best mexican restaurants in the area. We went there with family and enjoyed a good dinner. The chips are very crunchy and fresh and are really good. All the other entries were good. However, they do not have many vegetarian options. I would suggest them to add more vegetarian options for people who do not eat meat. Other than that, the service and ambiance were great, and we all had a great dinner at the restaurant. They also have 2 hours parking available. I definitely recommend the restaurant.
I recently held my retirement party at Ometeo, and I can’t thank them enough for making the entire experience truly unforgettable. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely fantastic – each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and a hit with my guests. The service was outstanding, with every detail taken care of seamlessly. A special thank you to Jill, the Events Manager, who was simply amazing. She paid incredible attention to detail, ensured everything went smoothly, and was so gracious throughout the entire planning process. I felt completely at ease knowing she was handling the event. Nicki, one of the servers, was also fantastic. She was incredibly accommodating and attentive, always anticipating the needs of my guests, making sure everyone felt taken care of. And last but not least, Nawar, one of the managers, helped direct my guests to the Cadillac Lounge – the event space – with such professionalism and warmth. It was clear she cared deeply about ensuring everyone had a great experience. Overall, Ometeo made my retirement celebration an event to remember. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience and excellent service. Thank you to the entire team for helping me celebrate such an important milestone!
Amazing food. The chips are gluten free, crispy and delicious. The drinks are great tasting. Love coming here. Also the kids build your own tacos are crazy!
Really nice dinner! The food was delicious and so were the frozen Margaritas. A few thoughts... It was very loud when the room near the kitchen filled up. It would be nice to be able to order only flour tortillas. The bathroom is upstairs, but there is an elevator. Thanks for a yummy dinner!
The cook that brought us our food was A LOT nicer and friendly than the waiter so service could have been better. The food was amazing though. Everything taste so good, we will definitely be coming back
Discovering Ometeo in Tyson’s Corner was an absolute delight. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between cozy and vibrant, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The food is spectacular, with each dish showcasing a creative twist on traditional Tex-Mex flavors. The presentation is equally impressive, making each meal not only delicious but visually appealing. What truly stands out is the excellent service; the staff’s attentiveness and recommendations made our visit even more enjoyable. Ometeo is highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in top-notch Tex-Mex cuisine.
The decor was so attractive, from the impressive outside bar area to the beautiful space indoors. The atmosphere was really good. Great food which was so fresh, you could tell it was good quality. Excellent service from Cindy! The short rib tacos were amazing and the Mezcal Mule too. We will definitely come back! Forgot to take photos of everything but the dessert was impressive! 🔥
Fun, lively and loud. We went to try it out on a Monday night. It was crowded and loud. Nice decor with lots of Mexican flare. The service was slow and had to remind them to bring out our food. The food was great. The salsas for the chips are different in a good way. Guacamole was equally unique. Appetizer of stuffed clams are again very unique and delicious. The fajitas are some of the best I’ve had in this area. Drinks are good also. Definitely heading back to try more items. This place is an expensive Tex-Mex restaurant. Parking is in a garage a block away, validated by the restaurant.
It was nice - the food was good quality - there for a work dinner with a party of 10+. The service was great for a larger party where the food came out at about the same time. Servers were attentive. Dessert was delicious. I'd call it 'semi upscale' but still casual - various degrees of dress - looked to be a post-work crowd - generally business casual or less. The drinks looked delicious - I can't speak to that because I wasn't drinking and stuck to NA beer - which was at least available.
Amazing experience from start to finish. Our server Jose was a true professional, great presence at our table, and very warm and welcoming. The food is off the charts great. Did the seafood tower and the De Rey con todos fajitas. The short rib was unreal good.
Went for dinner with a bunch of friends. Tuna tartare was a repeat dish cos we loved it so much! Drinks were great as well. We got the Fajitas and shrimp rolls which were amazing! The cauliflower small plate was a bit on the sweeter size but over all wonderful experience!!
We had the best dinner, and it was all thanks to our waitress, Abril! She was amazing - attentive, knowledgeable about gluten-free precautions, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The food was great, service was quick without ever feeling rushed, and we will absolutely be back requesting her section. Good to know: it gets a little loud so if you’re bringing your parents or grandparents, suggest going earlier!
We had a birthday celebration for a party of 12. Since the online system didn’t allow us to book the same time for a large group, we made two separate reservations. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t able to seat us together right away, so we had to wait. However, Grace at the front desk was incredibly helpful—she coordinated everything and made sure we were eventually seated together. Our waiter, Jose, was also wonderful and checked on us frequently. This was our second time celebrating a birthday here, and overall the experience was great. The only downside was the sharable seafood portion—priced at $97 for two, it mainly felt like a large amount of melted cheese on a pan with minimal seafood. Aside from that, everything else was enjoyable, and this was our 2nd visit.
Had an amazing experience here! The food was absolutely delicious, and Jose truly made the night even better. Jose was kind, attentive, and had a great attitude the entire time. You can tell he genuinely cares about providing great service. I’ll definitely be coming back—and I hope to see him again!
While everything we ordered wasn't great, there were enough things that were very good, lile the dozen spicy oysters, the salsas after adding in their habanero hot sauce/paste. That alone made every food item much better for me. The tamales were much better than those other places that wrap em in leaves, but lacked a punch...enter habanero hot sauce. The anejo tequila & black something mezcal were very tasty, great for sipping. Great recommendations by our server. Service was top notch, not pushy & yet caring enough since our group was busy talking and enjoying the appetizers. Entrees were good, some very unique, like the big bone-in rib (I think) that was well charred & yet soft & succulent. Again that habanero hot sauce was great with that. The dessert was a let down (tres leches and flan) but overall pretty decent food & great service. I would've given the food 4.5, but since I can't, food alone is a 4 out of 5.
i really like the vibes here and the atmosphere is super fun and vibrant! it's also beautifully designed and i love all the different areas so it's perfect for diff size groups or diff seating spaces. i also love the upstairs area, even though it's not meant for this purpose, i really like it for pictures because it's very cute and also when it's not serving anybody it's good to take pics there because you're not in anybody's way or disturbing anybody which is helpful. as someone who likes to take pics when they're out i definitely noticed this and appreciated it again even though that's not what it's for. the food is also so good and as a mexican it's really hard esp in this area to find mexican food that tastes pretty authentic but i have to say this def lived up to the standards i have from growing up eating mexican classics. only thing i didn't like was the smores, just didn't meet the mark for me they were cool conceptually but just not tasty to be honest but definitely a cool idea. everything else is great but i do wish they had more drink options esp for non alcohol drinkers like me who still wanna be able to have a virgin marg or mojito with a cool flavor. but for a new spot they have great options. what i really came on here for is to leave a review for the best server i've had at ometeo this far, jose m. he was so kind and inviting and truly made my family and i feel welcomed. the past couple times i have come, the servers i have had have been kind of rude and unhappy or not attentive. i was really scared to bring my mexican mom and mother in law here because i wasn't sure if the food and atmosphere would make up for the service which is arguably the most important, but luckily thanks to jose, i didn't have to worry. he was so helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable as well. i hope to see him soon and to sit in his section next time i come! he definitely made this experience fun, and really turned my opinion of this place around!
20/10. Loved everything about this restaurant. I had the shrimp fajitas and the shrimp was delectable!!! With the corn tortilla and their crema sauce. I was in heaven. I had their Mezcal cocktail and it was the perfect balance of smokey and sweet. Our server, Jaun was also amazing. So helpful in guiding us through the menu!
Beautiful restaurant, great for big groups and easily shareable menu! We were a group of 7. Service was attentive and helpful. Fried Cauliflower- yum! Flautas-tasty Pork belly taco-were good Matamoros taco- was ok, was kinda bland Fajitas- very generous portions Food quality was solid. I'd prefer a little more "heat" but overall food quality was good. We would definitely return.
Nice big place, better for big groups and easily shareable menu! We were a group of 5 and it was gals night out. Service was good and helpful. We could not eat that much as we went there after dinner but nice place to hung out with friends and family.
A great restaurant with stunning decor and amazing service; however, the food and drink are below average. Slightly overpriced but probably they wanna keep up with the area Simple cocktails are tasteless.
What a delightful restaurant! The ambience was inviting ( They have great outdoor seating) and service outstanding. Our table had shrimp taco salad, chicken torta and mushroom enchiladas. Everything was delicious though the salad had a bit too much of lettuce compared to other ingredients. The dressing however was unique & flavorful. As I visited for a work lunch, couldn’t try their drinks, but will definitely be back. Totally worth a visit.
Free 2 hour parking but it is about one block away. In wegment building. Has both indoor and outdoor seats. Food is ok.
This is the perfect spot for drinks and food before or after a show at Capital One Hall. The atmosphere is great. We had guacamole - which was so fresh and delicious, as well as the fish tacos and a few margaritas. It's a cute little spot, I would definitely go again.
I came here on Cinco de Mayo to try Ometeo's Fajitas de Res con Todo. I started with a Torta with Chicken Milanesa. The bread was nice, but the chicken was super thin and mostly breading. The chips and salsa were fresh and great. I tried the Tacos Hongos. The flavor was ok, but the texture was off. It felt too slimy. The fajitas were supposed to be the star of the show. The presentation was outstanding. Serving the meat on the beef ribs was a nice touch. I wished the meat had more flavor. The beans were bland and tasteless. They tasted like they came straight from a can. The rice was better. The beef rib meat was overcooked and not medium , as I requested, and had the texture of a pot roast. The meat tasted bland and not seasoned. The cheese became melted on the cast iron skillet and became a mess to try to eat it and incorporate it into a tortilla. The picture looked so promising, but the reality left much to be desired. Another note: serving diet coke in a 12 oz bottle for $4 seems excessive. Your carafe of water was room temperature, and I was never offered ice for my cup. Not a good experience. The live mariachi band was a nice touch, but it could not salvage the evening. I have had far better fajitas for a fraction of the $83 price these cost. I was so disappointed 😞
I have to say I was disappointed. After seeing the IG reels and how the food looked enticing, the taste did not match. I think they cat fished me in some way. The rice to me tasted bland. I ordered the steak fajitas and wanted them cooked MEDIUM. The picture I attached definitely shows it is well done. I would like to add the steak tasted flavorless. The chips and dip were not even mediocre, and as you can see, my picture showing I basically left 85% of it there. The staff were nice, but they didn't come back to check to see if everything was ok. I would have thought they would ask or wonder why most of my food was left and didn't want a box. But the short rib tacos were probably the best thing there. But, I will probably not come back.
The meat in the Ribeye taco (shown) was decent. I don't see the $3 worth of cheese that I paid for, though. (Do you?) And maybe the food is not supposed to be temperature hot. I've never seen a quesadilla that looks like that. (see photo) My tablemate seemed to like the enchiladas.
After arriving at the Capital One Center, we were searching for parking and found complimentary parking in the Wegmans and retail parking garage. Ometeo has a nice outdoor bar. The restaurant itself has a warm and cozy atmospher. We enjoyed the open kitchen concept and watching the tortillas being made. Even though it was mostly ice, everyone at our table enjoyed the Pineapple Ginger Agua Fresca and Tropical Hibiscus Agua Fresca. They were fruity and refreshing. Our server asked us if we wanted chips and salsa shortly after being seated and before we got a chance to look at the menu. It would have been good to let us know they were $9. This was the first restaurant that I've been to that the chips and salsa weren't complimentary. The Chips and Salsa consisted of warm, freshly made tortilla chips and three types of salsa - salsa ranchera, salsa tatemada, and salsa verde cruda. I didn't like how all the salsas were mildly spicy. The only salsa I could tolerate was the salsa tatemada. Since everyone in our party ordered Fajitas, we had a communal tortilla warmer with flour and corn tortillas. All of the Fajitas came with hot sauce, queso asadero y verduras, arroz verde, and refritos. The other girl in the party had a Vegetable Fajita, which consisted of hot peppers, zucchini, corn, onions, green onion, and melted cheese blend. She asked for a side of Guacamole. They originally charged us $14 for it. I'm glad we checked because it was only supposed to be $4. The rest of the party shared the De Res Con todo Fajitas, which consisted of grilled skirt steak, bone-in short rib, ribeye, hot peppers, onions, green onion, cactus, and melted cheese blend. Among the three steaks, the bone-in short rib was my favorite. It was juicy and quite flavorful. Both the skirt steak and ribeye were a bit dry and overcooked. By the end of the meal, we were quite stuffed and had no room for dessert.
I had high expectations on this new restaurant located at the first floor of Capital One office building. So I booked two dinners back to back, one with friends and the other with family. Atmosphere - 5 Everything is new and nice. I can imagine the outside patio will be packed in summer time. Service - 5 Everyone was warm and smiling and helpful. Food - 2 After all it’s a restaurant and I wanted to love the food, however it’s big meh 😒 The chips were good no matter with salsa or guacamole. The ceviche and other appetizers dishes were all delicious. All main dishes were disappointing, including fajitas, tacos, quesadilla - which are tex mex restaurant is mainly about right? Conclusion - I won’t come again for dinner, but might suggest for happy hour or a drink if the location is really convenient for everyone.
I been here twice, and both times it’s been a miss. The ceviche isn’t Mexican style, it’s pretty much raw like Peruvian ceviche. It was terrible and for $16 you get 2 spoons full. The drinks, well cocktails are decent, beer menu is very small and they’re not knowledgeable about the beer they have in the menu. The bar tender said their orange beer resembled a blue moon, clearly it’s an IPA, and you don’t have to be an experienced person to know. The Cornish hen was okay, and their Valentine’s Day special for $65 (lobster and steak) is so small, I don’t understand how they could even have the courage to serve that? The best thing here is their lounge upstairs, chips and salsas, and frozen strawberry margaritas. I’m sure I won’t be back. Oh, and our desert took 30 minute to get to us, they got it wrong and well, that made it less enjoyable.
As much as I was excited the first time I visited I am the same disappointed my second visit. This time I brought my wife and was sorely disappointed. First, we sat at the bar and I felt like I was treated like a college kid. Then, no chips. We ordered the $97 seafood fajitas - average, at best. The cheese was melted and had to be scraped off the pan. No veggies - no lettuce tomatoes or the like. The calamari was rubbery. The shrimp - maybe 4. The dish was just not prepared well and not what might be expected. The bar service was also lacking - you would think they would be available - not. As mentioned, no chips. Credit card required to order - really? For a restaurant like this one? Anyway - just not happy with my experience or the food served. Pleanty of other options. Will not be back anytime soon.
My family and I went to Ometeo for Valentine’s Day dinner. We arrived a little early and had drinks upstairs while waiting for our table. The bar experience was fine with no issues. Once our table for six was ready, we went downstairs and were greeted by our waiter, who initially seemed pleasant. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. There was some confusion about drinks from upstairs being allowed downstairs, even though the bartender had told us it was okay. It wasn’t a major issue, but it set the tone for the rest of the evening. Two members of our party were running late, so we waited a bit before ordering our entrées. The waiter was polite and kept our water refilled, which we appreciated. When I let him know the rest of our group was on the way, he said it was fine. Eventually, we ordered our meals about 10 minutes before they arrived. My main issue was how rushed and uncomfortable the waiter made us feel throughout the night. His tone and facial expressions showed impatience, which made the experience stressful. I work in a demanding field and deal with hostile people regularly, yet I still make an effort to remain professional and respectful. Unfortunately, that wasn’t reflected here. The most disappointing moment was during dessert ordering. My mother was talking to my sister in law and couldn’t clearly hear the waiter due to the noise. Instead of being patient, the waiter said “That’s it?” in a dismissive tone, grabbed the menus, loudly tapped them on the table, and walked away. It felt unnecessary and disrespectful. Our family was polite, said please and thank you, and wasn’t demanding. We weren’t complicated guests. If someone is having a bad day, I understand—we all do. I usually still tip generously because I believe in giving people grace. But hospitality should include basic patience and courtesy. The food and atmosphere was great, but the service significantly affected our experience. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely I’ll be bringing my parents to this location based on how we were treated.
We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary with family and mentioned the special occasion while booking. We were told we’d receive a complimentary champagne, but that never happened. More importantly, the experience overall was very disappointing. The food was very mediocre, and the service was poor—our server was arrogant and barely attentive. We waited almost 20 minutes at every step: to order, for the food, and even for the bill. What should have been a special dinner turned into a frustrating, poorly managed experience. Would not recommend this place for a special occasion.
