The food and drinks were delicious. The Cioppino and Shrimp Alfredo were flavorful. Parking is a bit tricky to find and making a reservation is recommended. Definitely want to visit again to try the other things on their amusing menu.

Great views of the bay. Delicious seafood options. Had 🦐, 🦀, mussels, combo for 3year anniversary dinner. Calamari paired well with the Zinfandel. Bread was fresh. Sauces were out of this world. Shared the chocolate mousse cake, espresso machine was down. Ask for Erin she was great.

Took my wife here for dinner and had a great time. I would definitely recommend making a reservation and making it early. We went at 5 pm and it was busy, but when we left at 6:30 it was packed. Even so, the food was amazing, and the service was great. The one draw back is parking, there are a couple parking lots and they fill up fast.

We stopped in for lunch today. The view is beyond words! The atmosphere is filled with all sorts of memorbilla, especially nautical with ship's models. We had the cheesy toast with white cheddar cheese on sour dough and a prawn cocktail. Both were delicious. I had the the sea bass and chose the sundried tomato, olive, and red pepper caper sauce. My husband had the salmon with the traditional lemon butter with capers. Both meals came with roasted mixed veggies and acini with butter garlic sauce. We were so hungry, lunch was mostly gone when I remembered to take pictures! We shared the salted caramel crunch cake.

Had a great experience! Sat outside and enjoyed the great view. We ordered the calamari to start. My husband ordered the short ribs with half a crab and I went for the cioppino. We enjoyed everything! The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable, I wish I remembered her name. The only complaint I have is the staff that initially greeted and sat us, they were less than friendly, but the rest of the experience made up for it.

Everything was great! I loved the clam chowder, the fried calamari, the Garlic crab, cippiono, bread and butter and chocolate dessert. My husband loved his burger and fries🤣

My beautiful wife and I love the Dead Fish Restaurant! We've been coming here for years! The service is great, the food is absolutely delicious! There is a pretty nice view of the water and the two Carquinez bridges if you sit outside or at a window. Prices are on the higher end but we think it's worth it! Great place for a date night or family dinner. Highly recommend!

Delicious combinations of taste! The view is spectacular. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff very helpful! We enjoyed the tables near the bar where you can appreciate the bridges, but inside the environment It seems you are under the water with the sky blue colored windows! Amaizing.

We sat at the bar top. Service was good, food was wonderful and the view was spectacular. So glad we stopped on our way home from Lake County. Parking was a little tough to find an open spot but we managed.

We loved it! It was a first time, and we are from out of town, but we'll be back in the future. Overall great experience. Highly recommend the Sea Bass

This place gets 5 stars all around the ambiance is phenomenal cute decor full of sentimental themed knickknacks and a charming view, the service is always great I've only sat in the bar area but I've been well taken care of with very aware staff (small wait but they're usually very busy) I made a reservation and was Sat upon arrival, the food tastes nostalgic delicious and memorable like something you've had before and will never forget. This place deserves every star.

This was a great find for us. We never go this way and I've heard of it from many people. I was too lazy to drive to the city to get seafood. The clam chowder was a big surprise... So delicious compared to the one we had in Bodega Bay the other day. The best I've tasted so far. The crab feast was generous! Yummy! We all had a great experience and the view was not bad either 🤣. We'll definitely bring more friends here.

Food is fantastic! We ordered crab for two, crab cakes and the recently demised salmon with the garlic lemon caper sauce. The salmon paired great with the crispy roasted vegetables and potatoes. Great drinks too!

Very wonderful place. Don’t be afraid to sit outside you get a fantastic view and their heaters will keep you warm. Started off with a Big Tuna Blood Orange Margarita, was very good wish it had salt rim but the blood orange was a good edition. I got their Nonna’s world Famous killer crab. The star here was the garlic butter so good no wonder why since they are owned by the Stinkin Rose in SF. Must go but get reservations.

After living in Vallejo for the past 3 years today was our first experience at the dead fish & WOW! Super cool restaurant & really good food. The salmon with the paprika sauce was absolutely delicious!!! The veggies were perfection and full of flavor. My husband had fettuccine Alfredo with crab and it was yummy!! Can’t wait to visit again!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You can't go wrong at the Dead Fish. I have eaten here before, and im never disappointed. When I have a craving and I don't want to drive all the way to Oakland or SF, this is my favorite place to go. Fresh bread, great clam chowder, Crab enchiladas👌 order 2 so you can have leftovers. We didn't need a reservation. Inside outside dining. Great view all around. Don't miss this spot. It will become your favorite also.

We love going to the dead fish for special occasions, such as birthdays, or anniversaries. We made reservations for our anniversary on September 15. We were seated right away. Along with wonderful service, offering us water, bread and taking drink orders. We ordered whole crab and shrimp with crab lasagna to share. Which is always delicious, we love the crab dipping sauce as well. We had a Phenomenal server, Lak D. Who shared with us that he has been serving for the dead fish for 15 years. A wonderful and dedicated server, he is very thorough, friendly, and prompt with any requests. After our delicious meal, he brought us a candelabra with a delicious chocolate dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We have had him as our server a few times. He Definitely makes our experience enjoyable. Thank you for all that you do for the dead fish, one of our favorite restaurants.❤️😊

We had a wonderful lunch on their patio today, Service was excellent and she helped us to make selections for 6 adults to share as we wanted to try the seafood platters. We had the grilled shrimp, mussels, steamed clams, seafood stew and calamari appetizer. A couple people had a cup of the clam chowder which was generously sized. I also had the salted caramel vanilla crunch cake which was very good.

I had a 20 year career in hospitality. I went through the HRM program at DVC. I worked at Le Virage, Crogan's and started management at the Concord Hilton. I finished as GM of Max's Opera Cafe in Walnut Creek for eight years. I enjoy writing reviews especially for positive experiences like the one we had here yesterday. Our thing is breakfast and we try different places a lot. We wanted to try the Dead Fish and did not know they had a Sunday Brunch so we wanted to try it out. They open at 12 and we arrived right about that time. Starting with host, every employee from bussers to servers were very friendly and pleasant. We asked for table by the window and that was no problem. The place is perched on a hill overlooking the Carquinez Straits and the Carquinez Bridge so the views were fantastic. Maryam introduced herself as our server. She was very pleasant and sharp actually anticipating our needs. She was excellent from beginning to end, a model of quiet efficiency. We started with a Epi bread tray at $3 *** Epi bread (or pain d'épi in French) is a variation of the classic French baguette, shaped to resemble a wheat stalk ("epi" in French). It is a decorative pull-apart loaf known for its extra-crispy crust and soft, chewy interior. *** It was a nice presentation and we all liked the bread. for meals, my wife ordered a burger and my 90 year old mother in law ordered the standard eggs benedict dish. I ordered the eggs benedict with crab and here I have to pause with a bone to pick. The menu listed this dish as $18.99 but if you want crab with it, it would be $14.50 Extra. Now I have to do math. We were charged 33.98. Don't do that, just list the crab benedict at $34 and call it a day. I was a little shocked. I add crab to my benedicts frequently and there is always a surcharge. It is usually $5 to $6. 14.50 was 76% of the price of the meal. The fishing season for crab was cancelled last year and will not resume until January 2026 so crab can go for a much as $50/lb. I get it. It's a lot. The crab was good, no doubt but that is a big surcharge. Put a note on the menu about the crab problem and used canned crab which is vacuum sealed and sold cold and you can get the nice leg pieces. It's great. I use it for crab cakes I make at home. On a benedict , everything is covered with hollandaise sauce anyway which makes it pretty hard to distinguish. On a benedict, we're talking 4-6 oz of crab for 14.50 Mine was lump crab; the body meat. The hollandaise sauce was genuine versus some kind of mix so big points for that. The benedicts were perfect with the lightly toasted muffins easy to cut and the egg whites firm and the yolks perfectly runny My mother in law loved her plain benedict with creative Italian style sausage patties instead of canadian bacon. My wife said her burger was very good also. the benedicts came with "tri colored potatoes". These were wedges of russet or Yukon, sweet potatoes and purple potatoes roasted. My pet peeve here was that they were not seasoned, at least not visibly so they were a little boring and dry. All in all the dishes were professionally prepared in a spotless, well appointed restaurant with a killer view out the crystal clear windows. It is a professionally run restaurant and I will be returning and highly recommend it but I might steer clear of the crab. We mentioned that it was our 38 year anniversary when making our reservation. At the end of our meal in a nice surprise Maryam brought a triple candlestick and a nice piece of a delicious chocolate cake with the restaurant's wishes for a happy anniversary. That was a very classy touch!

Great cocktails, the spicy bloody shark especially. Great seafood, we had the skillet of mussels and shrimp👌. Fantastic views of the Carquinez straight in a classic nautical setting. Big comfy booths and a nice brunch menu. Bar is great too. Busy on weekends, outdoor seating in good weather.

1st time there. The Filet Mignon was melt in your mouth good. Polished silverware is a clue how the place is run. All the employees, we're warm and friendly. I was in the restaurant biz for over 30 years, and i tend to be silently hyper critical. They're really wasn't anything to criticize. I would have been proud if it was my crew.

Lovely restaurant. It has a lot of detail to it and it has a breathtaking view. The outside booths are cozy and they have a heater running to keep you warm, also a light if needed, but I personally prefer the light off so I can enjoy the lovely view with the food. The food is good and the staff are friendly and professional. Definitely deserves the 5 stars. A reservation is mandatory because the place is busy. Big parking lots with security but also do be advised on the signs (love the DirtBag Alert sign). It is the Bay Area and car break-ins happen, so do not have visible stuff in your vehicles. Would definitely be returning.

We went to The Dead Fish for a special brunch and it totally delivered. Sat outside with a beautiful view of the water—super calm, super clear—and the staff made sure the heaters were on so we could actually enjoy it without freezing. We shared the cioppino, our friends got the seafood platter, and we added garlic bread to the table. Everything was solid—super fresh, well-seasoned, no frills but done really well. Portions are big, so splitting one dish between two people is the way to go. The vibe was relaxed but still felt like a treat—perfect for a low-key celebration or just a good weekend brunch spot with a view. Would definitely go back.

Great experience! For the best view, always sit outside! Wonderful food, service was excellent. When I made the reservation I was asked if we would be celebrating a special occasion, which we were, my birthday! So after our dinner plates were cleared a server brought a small candelabra, already lit, to the table, along with a free dessert! Fun times and smiles from the other diners!

Review from my daughter Alison, age 10: My experience at the Dead Fish was absolutely wonderful. First off, the service was very quick despite the crowded environment and we had our food about fifteen minutes after ordering. Secondly, the food was incredible and extremely well cooked and believe everyone in my party would agree. And lastly, the employees were the most amazing workers I have met. Their names were Shazam and Maryam. Both were great servers, and communicators. They gave me an unforgettable birthday experience at the Dead Fish, with huge, candelabras! Our seats also had a beautiful view and I was impressed by everything I saw. Thank to the Dead Fish for giving me an amazing birthday! Love, Alison

We came here for a nice dinner and we were not disappointed! The entire inside of the restaurant was full, so we opted to sit outside. No wind and the heaters made it wonderful - and the view was incredible. I suggest making a reservation if you’re going on a weekend! The capers on the fish were great, and the appetizers and dessert top notch. Excellent place for a date or just a nice meal!

We got the cheese bread appetizer which was amazing. Main course we got the skillet combo( mussels, shrimp & crab) the season butter was on point and the seafood was delicious. We got the cheesecake for dessert and you can tell the whipped cream is homemade. Overall great food & service. Parking was a bit hectic but probably due to Mother’s Day. We didn’t have to wait since we made reservations. Highly recommend making reservations in advance to avoid the wait

I can’t believe I failed to check-in. Anyways, The Dead Fish is one for the books. I loved everything about it! The location, the vibe, and most especially the food! First of all, it is a stand alone restaurant, it has a private parking lot with plenty of disabled parking spaces (love that)! Second, it’s almost as if it is in the middle of nowhere but it’s not. This restaurant has beautiful views wherever they seat you and the service is excellent. Then we started with an appetizer, we had the Crab Crostini. This is an excellent starter, it’s like a teaser, it gives you a sample of what’s to come. The crab tasted so fresh and to top it off with those baby tomatoes and olives were a good match. Since I’m a shrimp lover, I ordered the shrimp and mussels(medium size), FYI, it does not come with anything else. But there was plenty. I ordered a side of garlic bread and OMG, I’m glad I did. It went well with what I ordered and it was garlicky and buttery good! My friend ordered from the recently demised fish section and she got the Salmon with spicy ciopino sauce. Yes, I tasted it, the salmon was cooked perfectly. It was tender and not dry at all. The sauce was the “icing on the cake.” They didn’t have a huge selection on desserts but they have something for everyone. We ordered Chocolate Moose Bomb and Salted Caramel Vanilla Crunch Cake. We ate it all! Note: it is a bit pricey so be prepared, but totally worth the experience. The view and the decor gives the place a classy vibe. I recommend this place 100 percent. Until next time.

We had a wonderful experience at The Dead Fish in Crockett. The restaurant sits right on the edge overlooking the bay and the Carquinez Alfred Zampa Bridge, with absolutely beautiful sunset views. Inside, the décor is fun and unique, with vintage knickknacks hanging from the ceiling that give it tons of character. The food was definitely delicious. We ordered three rounds of the petal bread because it was so fresh and came with perfectly whipped butter. We shared the clam chowder with the kids and it was sooo good, creamy, full of flavor, and the perfect balance between chunky and smooth. I had the shrimp Louis and it was fantastic, a huge portion with large, perfectly seasoned herb-glazed shrimp, avocado, and red and yellow beets. Truly a perfect Louis in every way. For mains, we also had the black seafood linguine, which was excellent, fresh squid ink pasta with a red cioppino-style sauce and tons of seafood. The prime rib was juicy and tender, served with both au jus and horseradish cream. The mashed potatoes were smooth and well seasoned. The creamed spinach was okay, it just needed a bit more cream. The kids had fish and chips, and even though they weren’t beer battered, they were crispy and very good. Portions were generous. The service was stellar and our waiter was very attentive, which really added to the experience. It’s a little on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it. This feels like a great spot for family dinners, holidays, or birthday celebrations. We’ll definitely be back.

This place was amazing. Awesome location with excellent views of the bay! Food was exceptional. The raw milk cheese bread was unique and scrumptious. Then we had the rib eye and branzino with the creamed spinach. We loved everything! Portions were big too. Can't wait to go back!

Overlooking the Carquinez Bridge is The Dead Fish. Dead Fish offers a diverse and mouthwatering menu that beautifully blends seafood specialties with Italian-American favorites. Their dishes, such as the signature Crab Feast, are flavorful and generously portioned, making it perfect for sharing. The quality of the ingredients shines through, and the variety ensures there’s something for everyone. Whether you're in the mood for freshly prepared seafood, hearty pasta, or a juicy slice of prime rib, the menu is both satisfying and innovative. The warm, inviting ambiance adds to the overall dining experience, making it a must-visit for anyone in the Crockett area.

It was a truly memorable experience! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a casual yet sophisticated vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was exceptional, especially the seafood! The Sea Bass was perfectly cooked, with a rich, flavorful taste that left me craving more. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was beautiful.

We had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant! I opted for the cowboy ribeye, cooked well done, and it exceeded my expectations in both flavor and tenderness. The mashed potatoes and creamy spinach complemented the steak perfectly, earning it a solid 9 out of 10 rating. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the fresh salmon, cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. For starters, the crabcakes and cheese bread were a hit, though we agreed that a touch of garlic would have elevated the cheese bread even further. The cream soda served straight from the bottle was a nice touch, adding to the overall charm of the meal. Saving room for dessert, we indulged in the tiramisu, which was simply divine and tasted homemade. The attentive service from our hostess enhanced our dining experience, as she was always prompt and friendly. The restaurant's laid-back atmosphere provided the perfect setting for a relaxed evening, allowing us to enjoy our meal and engage in meaningful conversation without feeling rushed. While the ambiance was lively, it was not overwhelming, striking the ideal balance for a memorable dining experience. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and highly recommend it for anyone seeking a delicious meal in a welcoming environment. Whether it's for a special occasion or a casual dinner outing, this restaurant is sure to impress with its delectable cuisine and friendly service.

Ive been here a few times now. The view is outstanding on a sunny day. Today I ate at the bar. The bartender was friendly and made some great looking martini's. I tried the beet salad and shrimp/chips. Very large portions. Beet salad was fresh and vibrant, and huge. Not a cheap lunch but it was a memorable one.

We visited the Dead Fish for my partners fathers 70th birthday and the place was packed! Even though they were incredibly busy, our server Erin was exceptionally attentive and delightful the entire evening. The mussels were a *tiny* bit overdone (I can hardly blame the kitchen staff though, the entire Bay Area was wildly busy today), but still delicious and we ate every single one. Thank you for the charming atmosphere!

Been meaning to eat here for years heard so many good things about this place. They were all true we decided to eat on the back outside dining area yes they had heat. So cozy with an amazing view Even got the candle light special which they do for special occasions . Prime rib was amazing and red snapper was too. Presentation of the snapper well was best I’ve ever seen. Service was amazing as well. So worth the wait over 10 years however next time I’m not waiting so long to return I drove out from San Jose. If you’re anywhere in the Bay Area you must try this place !!

We went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had an awesome time. Good food but the best thing of all, the customer service provided by a server name Lac Even though they were about to close, we could ask if we could go to the patio and take pictures, and he said, absolutely we are here to make the best of your experiences that to me meant a lot. Being in the restaurant business for nearly 40 years my self, normally the employee's are in a hurry to live the restaurant, When they're about to close, they don't want to provide any additional service. But this particular server was going above and beyond to ensure that we receive the best customer service. Dante, employees like Lac is what the whole industry need. Good job!!!

My husband and I went to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our waiter, Lak, went above and beyond to make our evening special. From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. He made excellent recommendations, ensured everything came out perfectly, and checked on us just the right amount. And he moved us to a table with a beautiful view! It’s rare to come across service that feels both personal and polished, but Lak made us feel celebrated and well cared for. Thank you for helping make our anniversary dinner such a memorable one — we’ll definitely be coming back!

The Dead Fish is one of those restaurants that leaves a lasting impression — everything from the food to the atmosphere is absolutely top-notch. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the most beautiful views of the Carquinez Bridge and the bay — it’s the perfect mix of coastal charm and casual elegance. The food is amazing! The crab is always fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection — rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Every dish I’ve tried here has been full of flavor and beautifully presented. The portions are generous, and you can tell they take real pride in their seafood. The service is consistently warm, attentive, and professional. Even when it’s busy (which it often is!), the staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. It’s the kind of place that makes any meal feel special — perfect for date nights, celebrations, or just treating yourself. Between the delicious food, stunning views, and great energy, The Dead Fish is truly one of the Bay Area’s must-visit spots. I can’t recommend it enough — five stars all the way!

They are pricey but the ingredients match the price. The have a good cioppino and the ingredients are on point. Although it's very similar to a fisherman's stew because the ingredients are not exact. It's very good. With fishing areas right down the street is a great place to eat after a long day on the water. Also there is a great view of the Vallejo Bridge in the back, especially at night i recommended sitting near the window. Westcoast eclectic pier fishing llc. Salty

The Dead Fish delivers an exceptional dining experience. Their crab is outstanding — fresh, perfectly seasoned, and truly memorable. The steak was equally impressive, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. While prices are on the higher side, the generous portions, attentive service, and overall quality make it a worthwhile indulgence. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great seafood and steak.

We were told about The Dead Fish by someone at another restaurant and decided to make the 18 mile drive from Walnut Creek on a work trip and we were all very happy with the decision! Wonderful ambiance, great view. Too busy, so you wait even if you have reservation. Calamari on the small side and too much crumbs, shrimp fettuccini was tasty though. Would go again for the view.

My wife, daughter mother and father-in-law and sister and brother in law all came for a birthday lunch. The appetizers we got, crab cakes and calamari were absolutely amazing. I got the full crab and a cup of clam chowder which were incredible, well seasoned served hot and tasted incredibly fresh. My wife and sister in law got the crab and shrimp Louie, my sister in laws was in sadly short of crab compared to my wife's. They both said it was very tasty. My mother in law got the crab sandwich. Avoid this item. It was the saddest sandwich I've ever seen. There was hardly any crab on it, avocado on half and onions which she requested not to have all over it. It was the one bad part of the experience. Other than that the service was amazing the views beautiful and the manager was nice enough to comp the sandwich. They also saw we were celebrating 4 birthdays the whole family was born in March so when they saw us exchanging presents they brought us cake. We will be back but not for the crab sandwich. Everything else was top notch!

The food, and the view were amazing! My first impression of this place was bad since the person that greeted us was not nice and welcoming and turns out he was the restaurant’s manager! But later our kind server made things 100% better The crab angel hair lasagna was delicious! I would order this again and would recommend that you try it! We also got the Fishwich and I wasn’t amazed by it. It needed flavor many more seasoning, add a mayo sauce or something and the bread was cold which means they didnt toast it or butter it in the grill, there is so much room for improvement for this one The bread was delicious and fresh! I would recommend this place if you are looking for a romantic spot or time with friends, the atmosphere seems more for adults but I’m sure kids would like the view and all the objects on the walls Parking is great! There are like 3 parking lots designated for the restaurant

Finally got the chance to visit this place sitting on a cliff overlooking the bridge. We had crab/salmon crostini. Garlic sautéed shrimp. Crab Alfredo and crab enchiladas. It was all good. The view was amazing. We sat outside at sunset to see the sunlight change on the bridge and their set up blocks the cold wind. We will def go back to try the WHOLE CRAB. We risked a walk in on Father’s Day and we had a very short 5 min wait. We saw a few other walk ins. I would have been fine with a 20-30 min. Wait on a busy weekend.

Make sure you give yourself extra time to find parking and to wait in line to check in even if you have reservations. Unfortunately we did have to wait an additional 30 minutes until our table was ready. Besides that our service was quick and the food came out hot and ready. We ordered the combo of mussels, shrimp and crab which was incredible. We also had Calamari which the large order was a much larger portion than expected. The SeaBass was a great choice with couscous pasta and you can't ever go wrong with the fish and chips.

This place doesn't disappoint, but I will say today we wasn't a fan of the garlic bread or the crab sandwich, garlic bread was hard and dry and the crab sandwich was just a big buttery Bun with a little amount of crab meat..... was not worth the price coming from a seafood restaurant. For the first time, we sat out on the patio, super nice and an awesome view of the water and bridge..... they even have heat lamps. I'll continue to patronize, but will be super selective in what I order.....

I have been to this location many times. Theambiance is interesting, with nautical fixtures everywhere, great art, and good spacing between tables. The outdoor seating is facing the water, and bridge. They have propane heat stands in case of winds. The bar, size, counter, and variety is well stocked. Staff are a bit spread-thin, and could tell (our sever anyways) just-the-facts-please (order your food, drinks, and move on)... not impolite, just not engaging. Food quality is 3.75-4-star. Good portions, presentation, taste. I have had meetings here, lunches, dinners - location is great, good views. Parking can be difficult (depends on time and day) as they are busy, but still worth the trip, experience... enjoy, Jc

Crab Cakes were spectacular, as was the calamari... had the fish & chips... while they were very good... I still prefer either Haddock or Cod. Just my opinion.

Came in for a early dinner. We were sat in the bar area. It was very noisy with a large group enjoying drinks. We have been coming here for years. The menu prices, and portion sizes, are the only thing that have changed over time. The food is decent, sometimes overcooked, especially the crab, which only comes marinated. Our favorite dish, the crab crustini, has now doubled in cost. The views of the bay are amazing from the patio at this restaurant. The interior views are not as great. The decore is very outdated and parts of the floor are uneven. Wood rot? Parking by the entrance is a nightmare and hard to obtain. There are a couple of other lots, but it is a small uphill walk from both, so drop of at front is needed for any customers not able to walk up the hill.

Tasty and friendly fish restaurant with view of Carquinez bridge. Very good service by knowledgeable server, we ordered everything he recommended and he was absolutely spot on. Don’t miss the crab lasagna! We also enjoyed the sea bass and fried squid starter. Dessert was okay especially when we added dollop of ice cream. Service very good — not only was server great ((Josh?) greeter made a special effort to show us all the tables available so we could choose the one we liked best.

It was a perfectly pleasant experience with kind and helpful wait staff and decent food. We ordered the bruschetta, calamari, crabwich, and shrimp garlic noodles. Everything was good and filled us up but it felt pretty standard. Lots of garlic and lots of salt made it satisfying and tasty, it just wasn’t a culinary marvel. Overall I do recommend it here. The service was awesome and we got a seat by the bar with a great view of the bridge. They even had binoculars next to our table to watch the boats and wildlife! It was a cute touch, even if the meal wasn’t memorable. Seems like it’s a good place to go with family.

**update** stopped by again for Prime Rib. It was better this time. Consistent from edge to edge. Quite tender only at the cap. Their medium rare is more on the medium side. Last time was actually more medium well. Great service as always. The sign outside says "Crab House and Prime Rib". The Prime Rib was just ok. Ordered a rare cut and received half medium half medium well. The higher end pricing should reflect a consistent medium-rare from center to edge Prime Rib. Hopefully next time it'll be better. The Crab Crostini and Garlic Noodles was delicious.

Would give 5 stars for service however they need to add bar backs and an additional bartender. The one who has served me the last 2 times I've been here is Great and she works hard and efficiently but the volume of patrons each time is so great (completely full restaurant) that it would help to have an additional bartender! Seems obvious. They probably can't find help due to their location. ???

Love the decor and atmosphere. Make sure to have a reservation! Staff is all very nice. Our server was help and very nice. I had the branzino which I’ve had at other places and this one was dry and fishy. Had to put lemon to kill the fishy taste. For that price I would hope it would have been better. They still get a 4 star since others in my party said their food was excellent. Bread freshly made. Still nice evening.

Havent been here in years. Only thing that changed was the staff. A few old faces. But the vibe is still the same. Food was good but really nothing brag about. Only thing that would bring me back is if some one recommended we go. But the service was great, nothing to complain about.

We went to the dead fish on my birthday which was a Saturday. We did have reservations and was seated immediately. The place was packed packed and busy. It took a minute to get service and she was really nice. However, she passed us several times without asking us how we were doing. The bus boy was more at our table than her. The man who looks like the manager just came by our table and said are you done with this and then took the items and went off without even saying hello. We sat in a small booth in the middle aisle and the guy next to us was saying so many expletives. It was very annoying. The special thing was that we did get a birthday dessert which was delicious! The only other thing that sucked was the parking it was packed so we had to walk down to the corner to the light and park in the parking lot on the opposite side of the restaurant. It was cold but we were prepared for it. Probably won't go back again unless it's a real special occasion. But again, the food was fantastic!

Food was not as good. My wife's Crab and Spinach fondue was bad, had to send it back. They did remove the charge but disappointing when we plan a trip here to meet a friend for dinner. Great restaurant, delicious food, adorablely decorated for the holidays. We had reservations on Christmas Eve for a party of seven but unfortunately the table reserved for us had guests that didn't want to leave. We waited well over an hour to be seated. The employees were very sympathetic however and served us a complementary appetizer.

Visited The Dead Fish in Crockett with my family — they’re big seafood lovers (unlike me), so this spot was perfect for them! I ordered the garlic noodles with chicken. They were good, but not the best I’ve ever had. That said, their bread and calamari were both absolutely top-notch, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone was super attentive and kind. I don’t eat seafood, so I can’t speak on that side of the menu, but my family loves this place and always looks forward to it. Heads up — it’s definitely on the pricier side. My husband ordered a steak, and it was $50 for just the steak, potatoes, and some spinach. We couldn’t help but compare it to a Brazilian steakhouse where it’s $80 for all-you-can-eat! 😅 Still, the view is beautiful, the ambiance is great for special occasions, and the desserts were delicious. Worth a visit if you’re treating yourself or celebrating with seafood lovers!

The Dead Fish in Crockett is a great spot for a casual seafood meal with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The interior feels warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing dinner. Awesome views over the Crockett Bridge from the patio. Their seafood selection is impressive, and the Dungeness crab is a standout—perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The service is fun and friendly, adding a personal touch that makes the experience even better. To top it off, the prices for alcohol are outstanding - hard to beat for the quality and variety they offer. Oh, and by the way, there is no corkage fee! While everything was enjoyable, there’s a little room for improvement in some areas, but overall, it’s a fantastic place to visit. I’ll definitely be back!

This is my second time here and it is still an OKAY place to me (maybe because I am not a fan of seafood). However, they are always PACKED with people. View great but food so-so at best. Especially considering the price. Tiny portion of veggies drowned in too much oil. Salad good size but dressing tasted like vinegar and not much else. Salmon OK but nothing special. Server seemed rushed. Convenient parking.

Came here on Christmas Eve/ My Birthday with a reservation and the older Hispanic female hostess up front with the nose ring was very rude and unwelcoming. I showed up 15min before my reservation and still was seated until 15min after my reservation. I kept being told that my party was up next to be seated inside, yet two other families of 5 were seated before me. She was rude and did not have a pleasant demeanor. I did not want to cause a scene so i didn't say anything but she definitely needs to work on her professionalism and customer service skills.

The place is not clean enough — I would rate cleanliness 3 out of 5. It was very crowded. The food tasted okay, nothing special. Prices are quite high: we paid $220 for three dishes, which does not match the quality.

We love the dead fish! Food is absolutely amazing from the short rib, filet, crab legs, and more. Overall, a great time with a lovely dining experience. My family and I have been coming for years- this time, I believe they are under new management. A manager made a few comments leaving our table a bit uncomfortable. This ruined the experience which is unfortunate. Usually, a fantastic time. Now, the food was stunning although the comments made by the new manager were unacceptable. I hope we can return to the great atmosphere we are used to!!

Well shoot, after twelve years some things change for the worse. We revisited for our anniversary dinner 12yrs to the day and the only thing that was the same was the atmosphere. Our waitress was brisk, but the other wait staff were nice. I got the salmon with a lemon caper sauce, vegetables on the side paired with a white wine. My salmon was over cooked, the veggies consisted of potatoes and cauliflower (an odd pairing) the potatoes were so dry and overcooked I left them on the plate, the cauliflower was undercooked so it also got left. The lemon caper sauce you ask? Did it redeem the overcooked salmon? Nope. The only way I knew there was a sauce on the fish was by the three capers that were rolling around on the hot skillet plate my order got served on. Thank goodness for the bread basket or I would have left hungry. Were they busy you ask? Maybe that would excuse the lack of attention to everything? Nope. It was about 6:45pm on a warm Tuesday evening. The waitstaff was attentive where the waitress lacked so at least we had our drinks refreshed even asking if I was cold and would like the heater turned on. It was a balmy 73• and as I am acclimated to the brisk Eurekan coastal temps, it felt like a warm summer evening. We dined (I use that term lightly) on the patio and the view was lovely. All I can say is do better kitchen. A lot of time has passed but with a location like that you should be 5 star dining.

We went here tonight with 8 people for my husband's 50th birthday. We had reservations for 7:00 p.m. When we arrived, they directed us to the bar to wait. After complaining twice (we nearly walked out) they found us an undersized table outside on the patio. Once seated, the service was okay. My friends lasagna was cold. My well done burger was still pink inside. I think this place survives on the atmosphere, and its view. No plans to go back here.

a
allen_ Steel

Overly pretentious, poor quality food, the restaurant does not respect reservations. Even though you may have a reservation for 7:00 p.m. the restaurant will take walk-ins first. And you will have to wait. There is no waiting area per se. It's either a tented entrance way or jammed into the bar. On a busy night. Expect to wait a few hours for a table. The food we were served in some cases was cold. Or served on a steel plate that was so hot that it would burn your hand. It's put on a wire stand over a bowl to put the shrimp tails in. Trying to reach the bowl you will probably burn your hand as I did. I have had Philly cheese steaks at Gino's and at Pat's. As well as several other restaurant chains. Never once have I ever been served a Philly cheese steak with cheddar cheese and a tomato Cioppino sauce on it. All sandwiches are served on the same bread that you were given for your bread and butter, a small sort of elongated football shape. About 3 in long. Why this place has as many good reviews as it does I can only speculate that they are being put up by friends family staff and other social media manipulation. The true photos of the food are the ones you see that have a overall yellow or mustard color to the photo. All the other photos are staged. The ones with the overall yellow hue. Is caused by the use of sodium lighting outside on the patio. Which affects the overall color cast of the camera. Which is proof that these photos were not doctor or edited. The ones that show the color being correctly balanced have been edited and staged. As far as parking. There are three parking lots to this restaurant one below it one right next to it and one farther of the Hill as well as a fourth across the street that not owned by them and they say that you can you park in it at your own risk. The lower parking lot is immediately off the first turn of the freeway. So you will probably miss that one. The second one is maybe only 10 to 15 spaces. And again please building is right on the side of the cliff. So it is a very tight turn right off the main road. Traffic coming up and down the hill does not yield to anyone in that parking lot. When you look at the overall menu. You'll notice that while called the Dead fish. What you'll mostly see are crab legs muscles and soft shell crab. As well as a lot of shrimp. Also the shrimp that we were served was not shelled or tailed. And it doesn't State anywhere on the menu whether it is or it is not shoulder-tailed. Personally I don't enjoy eating shrimp scampi with the shell still on. Well it is build as a surf and turf restaurant. I would highly question their prime rib. As there's no weight given next to the different sizes that are available on the menu. They just give them generic names to the size of what you're served no way to quantify what you're actually paying for. The same piece of prime rib that sells there for almost $100. May very well sell somewhere else for 35. Without any way of knowing the weight of what you're actually being served. When it comes to True fish on the menu there's only about four choices. And maybe one special. According to the waiter they were out of three of the four choices. Including the fried fish and chips. This place needs a lot of work and a lot of help. They're trying to be catchy and unique and what I would consider homie atmosphere the ceiling of the bar is covered in all kinds of diecast cars kids toys model airplanes and other pieces Decor flare. Kind of like going into a Mel's Diner or an Applebee's. There's stuff jammed everywhere in an attempt to make it feel like you're in someone's home.

Disappointed in the food. I ordered the cioppino and it was not good. The seafood did not taste fresh, it was overcooked and too salty. The seafood dish was a big disappointment especially for the cost of $50. I do not recommend this place. Our lunch bill came to $127 it was an expensive lunch.

Valentine's night was a joke. We made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. There was a line of 50+ people outside in the cold, waiting to be seated. After an hour we finally got our table. Ended up paying for drinks and leaving. Bruschetta was awful, bread was soggy, and tomato pieces were a size of half of finger. No flavor at all. They didn't offer any compensation to us even after we asked about it. Taking my money elsewhere next time.

We went to the dead fish to celebrate my birthday Here’s a cleaner, more polished version of your review while keeping your message strong and clear: ⸻ Before this incident, this was actually my favorite restaurant. I’ve been here about 10 times and even chose to celebrate my birthday here, so this isn’t coming from someone who just visited once and had a bad night. We made a reservation for a party of 12. When we arrived, they were busy (which is normal), but we were seated fairly quickly. However, they split our party between two separate tables. When we politely asked the manager if the tables could be pushed together so we could all sit as one group, he responded with an attitude and said, “We don’t move tables.” So we let it go. Shortly after, the party next to us (around 7–8 people) left, and I noticed staff had moved two tables together for them. That was frustrating, but again, we let it go. The food came out, though my son’s meal took noticeably longer than everyone else’s. We didn’t complain. While eating, I noticed my usual order tasted different. Since I always get the same thing, I know how it normally tastes. My wife agreed it tasted off, and two others in our party felt the same about their meals. We assumed the kitchen was just overwhelmed and didn’t say anything. About 30 minutes after we finished eating, one person in our party started feeling sick. Then one of my kids felt sick. Soon after, both had diarrhea. Then I experienced the same thing. By the end of the night, a total of five people in our party had diarrhea and/or vomiting after getting home. We had already paid before mentioning anything to the manager. When we brought it up, he essentially brushed us off. The next day, we called to follow up, and he was again unhelpful and had an attitude. His response over the phone was, “Just so you know, we don’t do refunds.” We’ve seen reviews where refunds were issued for far less serious situations than this, which makes the response even more disappointing. We asked to speak to someone above him and eventually reached the owner, who sent us a hostile email and even threatened legal action if we posted about our experience on social media. We didn’t want to write this review. We simply wanted the situation handled properly. This could have been resolved very differently with basic customer service and accountability. After multiple people in our party got sick, we absolutely believe a refund was warranted. It’s extremely disappointing to see a place we once loved handle a situation like this so poorly.

The food was absolutely horrible and there was a worm in my fish in fish and chips! Everything was bland, nothing but grease and breadcrumbs. Calamari was gross. Tiny bits soaked in grease and tasted like nothing. Chicken sandwich was so bad that any fast food chain chicken sandwich will taste like a Michelin stars laureate. When I asked the waiter what is this in my fish he said he didn't know. You can Google it for yourself. Never again are we going back to this place. Decor and views are the only thing that I want to remember.
