Ask messy and yummy as ever. Chili cheeseburger. The onion, tomato, pickles taste fresh as always. Yes the chili is thick and goopy, as it's meant to and what makes it go so good with the burger.

The double cheeseburgers were great as long as you have them freshly cooked. Getting old meat that’s been on the grill for who knows how long sucks.

Love Tommy's Food! This particular Tommy's has great service. So many food chains these days just don't focus on service at all anymore so it's nice to get excellent customer service here at Tommy's. Happy one chain still cares!

I went for my late night chill fries and was disappointed with he amount of fries I was served! I Had to go back and say something! Inflation has definitely hit our city!

Anyone born in Los Angeles will know that Tommy's is not just a fast food joint, but an icon. I live the fact that even when I am away from LA for long periods, I know that the chili will still taste as good as when I first tasted nearly 47 years ago.

Last time I hit this place up for a great chili burger was back in the 90s. It's still a great burger and they still open 24, 7. Quick and accurate service. Sorry I have no photos this time, I was starving.

All the employees on staff were courteous, kind and sharp! I believe Ms. Claudia’s leadership may have a lot to with their quality of work. First off, Ms. Claudia was exceptionally patient with my family! She insured the order was correct, visually appealing and the food was extremely hot! It goes without saying that each item ordered was tremendously tasty and bountiful! But beyond the food and service, Ms. Claudia was professional, with a smile, humorously bantering back and forth setting an enjoyable dining environment for my family, myself, and the other guest. The area is rough but it’s LA, My GF was mad at me, and she didn’t want to eat the burger, but after taking a bite her attitude changed. Great place to try if you haven’t yet. The Chilli burger is amazing!

Great food, friendly staff. Fast service, ordered, paid and walked out with our food. Took longer for us to decide what to order than to get served. Only issue was parking. They have 4-5 spots behind the restaurant and there is a rather large lot just west. We could not see any signs saying who's lot it was but parked there anyways. We then asked inside and they said it was theirs. Maybe, a sign, saying "Enjoy your burger while parking here." just to make us feel better about parking there. Oh yeah, and my buddy was a little disappointed when we got in and it was staffed just like all the other Tommy's we have visited. (See sign)

The Hollywood location is an older one that has the feel of the original Tommy's. Great burgers with chili and fries. That chili just does the trick!

Well I he best chilli burger or hotdog in California hands down is Tommy's my kids had Tommy's for the first time and I told them try the burger with everything ( onions, pickles, tomato, mustard, meat, cheese and that's right Chilli) my kids were no take I said nothing you try it then decided. Well they finish their Chilli Burger and said this and I quote wow I didn't expect this they fell in love with the flavor and now we have a great family place to go and enjoy a great meal thank you Tommy's you're the best!

If you have a hankering for a chili burger, you MUST come to a Tommy's Burgers. The chili adds some spice without being abusive and it's just amazing. Chili cheese fries are worth every penny, too. The staff is great and happy to give you a refill of your beverage.

I love Original Tommy's cheeseburgers and fries. While not a fan of chili myself, they have no problem making regular cheeseburgers without chili. It is a li'l pricey so I tend to visit during Deal days, which pop up often (BOGOs and reduced combo prices, etc). Get on their mailing list for notifications.

Truly the best fast-food chain chili cheese fries that I know of. Greasy, delicious chili that is without chunks of beef - it's smooth and just the right texture. The cheese is standard American cheese but it goes perfectly with Tommy's famous chili sauce. The fries are thick and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. On days when I don't care about my diet, this is a favorite of mine. The burgers are ok, but I come here for the chili cheese fries.

They have solved the language barrier previously mentioned in my earlier review and by others. So its all good over here now. Order at will !!!! Chili is as great as usual, food comes out fast. The lady at the drive through tonight 4/3/25 8:50p.m was kicking butt and taking names. Awesome turnaround.

2026/01/08 Update: I come by here a few times a month to get my chili fix😜 and I just realized I haven’t updated my review, When I drove thru the drive-thru , I saw the drive thru window was boarded up, the menu board has a sign that said, they were open. There was no speakers to order thru, I drove to the cashier window and asked if they were open and was told they were open, I asked why the window was boarded up, she told me that a drugged up homeless person went crazy and broke the windows. They were friendly, nice and professional, they used to be open 24/7 but they cut back on their hours, now they are open till 2-3 in the morning, Their food hasn’t changed, still the same yummy chili burgers and chili fries. —————- This is a good place to buy chili burger and fries and their drive thru are open 24/7

Dang I hate this place because it's soooo GOOD tasting (and sooo bad for you) I always overdo it!! I got a triple chili cheese burger with extra chili and fries. I like the gooey, pasty, viscous chili here. The price was not bad. The chili excellent, the fries good. It's Tommy's happily the same everywhere you go, good gooey, heart threatening chili, fast service and nothing more. I love this place but I know it's not good for me (sad face)........ Always recommended!!! Sorry, no photos, I was too hungry.

I usually go to the N Hollywood location but it has been temporarily closed for some reason. I ordered the Double Chili cheeseburger and double cali classic. Both came out piping hot and fresh. It’s smaller than other Tommy’s but one of the better ones. Probably my favorite Tommy’s location in the SFV. Don’t forget to check out their IG for weekly specials.

I love Tommy's chili cheese burger. The prices aren't bad for the complete meal. They were fast cuz no one was there & that's cuz the lunch crowd already got there lunch and left. Considering there is the court house around the corner. They also have hot dogs with chili or not. The chili taste different than other places. They don't have many of those Tommy's around, I've only seen them in the SF Valley & 1 in Riverside. I say try it out, you'll like it too.

First time trying Tomy's and have to say that the chili and cheese burger exceeded my expectations. I even tried an order of chili cheese fries that we're good after hours. Which I wouldn't normally do with fries but this surprised me and I'm usually picky with restaurant food and most definitely French fries. But my review is 5 stars simply because the food, the cost and the quality was far above fast food quality.

Ordered the Mega Meal with chili cheese fries 2 Cheeseburger combos 1 with chili cheese fries the other one was regular fries and 1 strawberry shake, 2 large drinks almost $40 total. A bit pricey but still good. My Mom and my Uncle said the burgers have a funny taste now(not the same recipe) more onions is the reason for that.

Tommy's is a southern California icon. They've been around for decades, and for good reasons. The burgers are great, the fries are fantastic, especially with chili on them. Messy but yummy!

I went through the drive thru and I always have good experience. The young lady was very amicable and nice. She got my order right!! The soda wasn’t that good it was flat we ordered a cherry Pepsi which had no flavor it was mostly water.

Good, messy chili burgers. Limited outdoor seating. The only complaint is that the indoor lobby where you order is all windows and feels like it's 100 degrees, no exaggeration, when it was 80 outside.

Great food but don't expect to have an amazing sit-down experience. No place to sit inside and the outside seating typically has homeless people hanging out and when they're not there is extremely dirty. Had a great promotional deal and always typically do so keep that in mind if you're shopping for a great deal!

Went to the drive through and though I only had 2 cars in front of me, waited over 20 minutes for my chili dog. Once I got to the window, it took another 10 minutes for chili dog to come out, which is a little disappointing with time, but the chili dog was good

It used to be good but now you have people that work there are rude, don't smile are to busy talking about el Salvador or Guatemala... and don't get it twisted I love people from all parts of the country but they don't need to give me dirty looks or act cold and disrespectful... they should be happy that they are working . I don't get the hype. Sampled a wide range of the menu and after tasting everything I'm convinced Angelenos like to overhype their institutions. The burger was the only thing that was decent, not great but decent. The chili dog and chili fries were not good. It's because the chili and the dog itself is bland.

Luisa messed my order up. After repeating it. And me confirming it. It came out with cheese but it was good ol Tommy’s. Took one star off cause my chili dog smelled funny

Well I went around 11:00 am and I was starving and I got chilli cheese fries it was surprisingly empty so the customer service was perfect everything was fast and it tastes good I added some salt and pepper and those peppers they pass out there on top of the fries

I love this place, each location is different and so are the people. It appeared to me at this location if you're not Hispanic they treat you a little differently. First and last time at this location. The food was great though as always. There's no public restroom.

Small quick clean fast food restaurant receiving exact persistence regardless of location you vist. Only thing lacking is inside table seating to be able to enjoy your meal there instead of being forced to eat outside their building where they have 3 tables. And second but really important "RESTROOMS " come on people paying loyal customers do not even get access to a restroom ridiculous. This is the only Tommys I've ever been to that was unprofessionaly built .

Both this location and Roscoe location have gotten plain terrible. Tommy passed and I think the chili recipe went right down with him. The chili has no flavor to it at all. The food is never served above room temp anymore. Both locations look filthy inside and out. You purchase a combo meal and add cheese and chili to those fries and you better have the gold card with you. The place has gotten so over priced and the quality of any of it not there anymore. Used to love the place. It doesn't even draw in the late night after party crew anymore. On the upside, the line is history. No car ever in front of me there anymore. Better off getting the new Costco burger and picking up a bag of chili's and a water to go with it for free at Tommie's. There was an actual "Real Tommy's" right there where OMG Grill now is that had them all beat. The no drive thru killed that one. God I miss it. Try Beep's for a much better chili cheese burger but skip chili cheese fries. No ones really taking up where Tommy's is failing at this time. If you skip chili and just add cheese Tommy's is good for only that. But a slice of 40/60 cheese/oil is about a buck and change.

I can't believe how little chilli they put on these chilli fries. I remember when you could eat the chilli off the wrapper. This is just sad and not the experience I paid for. I will say at least they ask if I want peppers and ketchup unlike these other restaurants that don't say anything and you may assume they know you want ranch with your onion rings.

This was my first time here and chances are this was my last time!!! Unfortunately I do not agree with their "world famous burger" claim. Burger was just flat and their Chilli fries was even worse. The taste of beans in the chilli was overwhelming, the "chilli" flavor was completely missing. This location in Van Nuys is also in serious need of renovation... Just like their food.

I ordered two double California burgers, one was cooked proper and one was undercooked. The two burgers didn’t even look the same. I had to ask the same question three different ways when ordering and still figured it out on my own. I like the location and the bare bones approach, but the customer service is seemingly absent. Idk if this location deals with a lot and employees are over it, or the ones they have aren’t personable. ***I've been back a couple times since, this location sucks. If you don't speak Spanish you will be treated coldly(elderly couple behind me got mocked and ignored)

I ordered a hot dog with chili cheese on it, and a side of regular fries, with a Sprite. And I must say, 1, it was really expensive! And 2, the food was disgusting and slimy tasting with no flavor! sorry to say, but I don’t know if it was the Cooker or that’s just to way they serve they food! Never again.

Been a long time customer of Tommy's, but not anymore. Went there today, ordered one burger. Was hoping to have a $5 in my wallet so I didn't have to break a $20, but looked through the wallet .. Only had $20s. Oh well. So I give Lorena a $20, and she gives me 8 cents change. I told her I gave her a $20. As he says I didn't, and refuses to give me the extra $15 back. Now, I could understand if there was any way I was mistaken, but I know I wasn't because I searched my wallet for a 5 before I went in there. I've been frequenting various businesses for over 40 years, and although it is rare, this kind of thing occurs. But I have NEVER had a business insist that I was wrong and not give me back my change. There are people hurting right now, and I urge people to buy food from restaurants, just not this one. They are dishonest. I won't go back there, and I'm telling my friends not to either.

The service was bad. We had to repeat the 2 orders more than 5 times to the cashier. The prices also went up. The food was not worth it. The food did not taste fresh. Tommys is not as good as it use to be. Its sad whats happening to the good old places.

We got an order of 3 hamburgers and 3 fries , we asked for dressings for each fries and they only gave us 1 saying that they only give one dressing per total order !! This is ridiculous so if you order fries for the whole family only one person gets a dressing pack and the rest will have to stare ,never coming back save your money go to In& Out instead where they don't complain about an extra dressing pack😒😒😒😒😒

Why be so stingy with the yellow chilis? I asked for extra and I was told that now they can only give 2 small containers (which hold 2 individual chilis each) for each order. The yellow peppers are a Tommy's staple. Why pay for Tommy's and their prices if your not going to get the Tommy's experience? What happened to the small tray filled with yellow chilis that they used to give? I can't even get 6 chilis. I can only get 2 containers with 2 peppers each in them. Even after I ask for 1 more I'm told no.

The food was not great. The party had some sore or weird holes in it which made me think some sort of an animal ate through it and they still served it. The service was horrible, the lady helping me showed no effort in her job, and the chefs were not wearing gloves…ew The atmosphere was the best part, it looked great, but I still found a few bugs here and there . Don’t reccomend .

The chili and cheese were fine, but the hot dog itself tasted bad, I removed the dog and ate a bun with just chili/cheese and it tasted great, but it soon began to wreak havoc on my system. I do not recommend to anyone with less than a steel stomach.

I used to come here and they would get my order right and there was no problem.. the last two times I ordered from here however, they got my order wrong. So wrong that I ordered a chili cheese hotdog and they didn't put chili on it... Twice! And once they didn't put cheese on it! First time I thought it was a fluke, but this time I called to find out what happened.. I was literally told that I should speak Spanish to get my order right. WTH.. guess I just can't order food here anymore because I'm not fluent enough in Spanish. Very disappointing.
