During a lovely hike, we discovered the Ragno refuge, a wonderful surprise, as was the owner, Roberto, who is truly a wonderful person. With humility and kindness, he welcomed us to his refuge with its breathtaking view. The entire place is impeccable, including the kitchen, which we had the opportunity to tour. We'll definitely be back!

We had lunch today with a friend after a walk in search of mushrooms. The place is simple but welcoming. The staff is super friendly. The dishes are simple but good. The view is spectacular.

At a friend's suggestion, we reached the refuge 🕷 starting from Vendrogno LC...a fairly challenging trail, but for those with a minimum level of fitness, it's doable without any particular problems. The effort is compensated by the splendid panorama you enjoy once you reach the destination. Excellent food and generous portions. The staff were courteous and, if you like...a little whimsical and friendly. Recommended.

The Ragno Refuge can be reached from the paid parking lot in Sanico. A pleasant walk of about an hour takes you along a path that climbs along the mountainside, shaded by a beautiful conifer forest. You'll have to cross a few streams; be careful around them. The path is easy but not wide. Alternatively, you can take a paved road that turns into a dirt road, accessible by car, to a parking lot about ten minutes' walk from the Refuge. The food is good, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. A small flaw was that we ate outside, unprotected from the scorching sun, which, with temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius on October 30th, forced us to eat quickly and skip dessert. Nevertheless, it was a lovely experience, as in just a few minutes from the Refuge you reach the large Camaggiore cross, where the view of the lake is superb. Continuing on, you'll see other trails.

I think the owner's name is Roberto. He's a tactful and kind person. Since the POS wasn't working and I didn't have any cash, he offered me lunch. (THANK YOU) Considering it was my first time at the Ragno refuge. I recommend the refuge and the location with its breathtaking views.

Excellent rustic restaurant in Camaggiore, exquisite grilled meats, delicious pizzoccheri (with chard), delicious polenta and potatoes, spectacular berry cheesecake, and a delicious genepi to finish. Friendly and efficient manager and waitress, very fair bill.

Toward the end of our hike to Monte Croce di Muggio, we went to lunch at Rifugio Ragno. Unfortunately, many of the dishes on the menu were sold out when we arrived, but we were still delighted with a huge platter of venison stew with polenta, followed by an equally huge slice of red wine and dark chocolate cake. Everything was delicious, and the prices were truly reasonable!

This refuge (don't expect a typical mountain refuge) is located in a quiet area. It's close to other houses, so since it's not very visible, you'll need to follow the signs on the dirt road (not accessible without a special permit) that leads to the village. The food is reasonably good. There are tables both inside and outside (both covered and uncovered). If you're in the area and decide to take a trip to Camaggiore, you can count on this place for lunch or dinner.

Unfortunately, my experience at this refuge was truly disappointing. There were only a few of us there, so there wasn't any noise, but despite that, the service was incredibly slow. The person serving us was surly, rude, and completely unhelpful: she almost seemed annoyed by our presence. In a mountain refuge, you expect a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere, but instead we were treated coldly and rudely. I was very disappointed, because the place has potential, but that kind of attitude certainly doesn't make you want to return.

We arrived at the shelter and asked if we could have lunch, only to be verbally assaulted. It was enough for Mr. Roberto to tell us that, unfortunately, there was no room; it wasn't our fault they were unstaffed that day. I'll definitely never set foot in there again; a peaceful sandwich is better than listening to a landlord yell.
