Opiniones de Cafe Zack Ventura
What an absolute gem! My husband and I were looking for a new place to try in Ventura and we found Cafe Zack and decided to give it a try based on all of the great reviews. Cafe Zack did not disappoint! The restaurant has a small cozy interior space, a beautiful bar area and a lovely outdoor space that can accommodate small or large groups. They even have cute little chair shaped purse hangers at each table on the patio which was such a special little touch. The wait staff are incredible. Very friendly and attentive. Thank you to our awesome server, Matt, who truly made us feel welcome. The food was excellent. We started with the split pea soup which was flavored perfectly. I had the Norwegian salmon which was cooked perfectly and included roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables. My husband had the filet mignon which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We were so full that we did not have any room for dessert but we will definitely be back again to enjoy this amazing restaurant.
Such a cute spot! The food is so yummy, the wine is great, and everyone is super friendly. Sweet atmosphere and really nice people — definitely one of my new favorite neighborhood cafés!
We had dinner tonight 10/24 @cafe zack. I made reservation for 6 pax. We seated in the patio and it was beautiful. I ordered rack of lamb (forgot to take photo). I ate every bit. We had Ceasar salad and the rest of the group ordered cowboy rib eye and fettuccine seafood curry. We had the desserts. Everything was delicious. It was our first time and cafe zack didn't disappoint us. We definitely comeback on December 26 for my birthday!
Café Zack was such a great experience! Matt, our waiter, was incredibly welcoming and polite. His kind and genuine demeanor instantly made us feel comfortable and right at home. The food? Absolutely delicious — totally worth every cent. And don’t even get me started on the desserts! My fiancé had Zack’s Pie and loved every bite. I went with the crème brûlée cheesecake, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had in my entire life. The flavor was absolute perfection. I highly recommend this place — amazing food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a wonderful dinner to celebrate the life of my dear Suzy Q. This was her favorite restaurant and we had her favorite wine and pear pie. Excellent place to dine and remember good friends with great food and service. Thanks Hector
Cafe Zack is a Ventura must! This cozy little restaurant is tucked on the edge of Downtown/Midtown. I’ve taken my wife here twice and both times we’ve been super impressed! The food is really good. We haven’t had anything that I wouldn’t recommend. I highly recommend the steak. They are tender and great quality. Make sure to try an appetizer as well. For seating options you have a few. You can sit inside, on the patio, or in the back. Both times we went it was cold (Ventura cold) outside. We sat outside the first time, due to the pandemic, and in the patio the second time. We both said it would have been great to come in the summer and sit outside. Enjoy!
First time here. We were pleasantly surprised by just how delicious the food was! We split a Tuscany salad. Then my wife had the Flat Iron Steak with Aglio Olio Pasta. The steak was very tasty and cooked to her liking. I had the Filet Mignon with Porcini Mushroom sauce. It was very flavorful. Even the roasted potatoes were delicious. For dessert we shared the baked apple tart. Also very good. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.
Cafe Zack has been our family's favorite for over two decades. We can always depend on their amazing menu (best filet mignon in Ventura County!), great wine list, and friendly service. Whether it's a special date night with your love, or a big family dinner, they can accommodate your needs. Most recently, we celebrated our son's recent engagement - We asked him where they wanted to go for their special dinner and of course he said, "Cafe Zack!" since he's been coming here since he was a baby. 💜
We love Cafe Zack! Both the food and service and wine list are just wonderful. It's a fairly small place so consider making reservations. They also do takeout.
First time Love everything about this place. Hector & Jeff were great. Definitely will be regulars Live in the Neighborhood.
My Filet mignon was premier to all high end chain restaurants. Beautiful pepper corn sauce. My only slight critic, upgrade the knives.

We stopped there for lunch. We made reservations as recommended but not sure if it was necessary because there was nobody else there when we got there just before noon but filled up after 12:30. The atmosphere was wonderful sitting on a warm day in the patio. The server was very attentive to our needs. This is a place dedicated to SLOW FOOD. Allow at least 1 hour for lunch, at least 1.5 hours if you are having a dessert. Food was extremely well prepared and you can taste the difference in quality and careful preparation. BTW, the crab cakes are the more spiced variety. We REALLY enjoyed the Bread Pudding which is served with freshly prepared Caramel Sauce.
What a great dining experience! We went here for my birthday (Zack in the name being the funny semi-draw) but it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful and the service was top notch. You know when a place has a pastry chef on staff you are in for a real treat and that dessert was to die for! I highly recommend this place to everyone who is looking for delicious food at a price still affordable for the average Joe! This is fine dining in a classy, intimate setting, all without the sticker shock of some other similar establishments.
Café Zack = 12½ stars, no debate. Came for my birthday. Left impressed. That doesn’t happen easily. Vibes? Immaculate. Cute little house. Cozy patio. Not on top of other tables. Shout-out to the tiny purse hooks nailed into the patio trees so bags never touch the floor. Whoever did that? Genius. You get it. Rule #1 here: trust your servers. I was torn, followed Hilda’s recommendation, and the pasta was absolutely the right call. She was warm, sharp, and on it all night — extras never forgotten, timing perfect, zero hovering. Hilda needs a raise. Hubby got the bone-in ribeye and listen — he likes it well done (I know). Every other place undercooks it and we send it back. Not here. Perfect. Best ribeye he’s ever had. Yes, even better than at home. He actually said he’d come back for it. Shocking. Chatted with one of the owners on the way out — his two uncles are the chefs and they care deeply about quality. It shows. I would kiss those cooks if that were socially acceptable. Final test of excellence: This dinner earned a voluntary 20% tip. No reminders. No negotiations. Cash thrown down happily — and this man is usually a 10% tipper. I normally intervene for karma reasons. Tonight? Didn’t need to. We’ll be back. We’ll ask for Hilda. End of story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️➕½
Everytime I come down to Ventura me and my wife come here. I recommend the Zach's Pie and Creme Brulee cheesecake for dessert. Built in an old home from the thirties with a remodeled bar, different atmosphere from the main room to outdoor patio. Wonderful restaurant.
Let's start with the obvious: you can drive right past this place and not even see it. It is a converted house with minimal signage, and I think that adds to the charm. Reservations highly recommended. Now to the good and bad ... it's worth the visit but it comes at price. I had their crab cake appetizer (superb) and wild boar shank (you'll have to wait 30 minutes for this to cook), a glass of wine and their flourless chocolate cake. It set me back over $100. I WOULD GO AGAIN. Every bite was top notch. I sat indoors, but there is a small nice patio in back. Next time I'm trying their duck.
Had my birthday dinner there and was so glad I choose there. The atmosphere felt more private than most restaurants that pack you in. They have indoor outdoor spaces. We had crab cakes, delish and noticeably homemade. Then rack of lamb and lobster ravioli, yum! Flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Oh, excellent martini and perfect wine as well as cappuccino. The waiter and owner made us feel at home. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️
The food is amazing, the service was fantastic, the patio has heaters so it isn't too cold- all around this is somewhere I'll come back too. It's a little expensive but the food absolutely justifies the price tag, sooo good. They have good shirley temples and their maraschino cherries aren't your average, so good. The lobster with sweet corn was amazing.
Zack’s is an unassuming looking place from the street view. But inside it’s very comfortable and clean. I’ll keep this review short because little needs to be said. My wife and I have been here several times and it is ALWAYS a perfect meal. -great service -great drinks -amazing food. Zacks will not disappoint!!

Math was extremely attentive and insightful. Hubs and I first time here. Food is extremely delicious. We are coming back for the seafood fettuccine next. 💯

Cozy, quiet Cafe Zack is a great place for intimate lunches or dinners with a little bit of a European feel. The food was definitely above average, all meals served were visually and tastefully attractive. Wait staff and employees and accommodating and friendly. Good place to eat in Ventura.

Good food, helpful service and a casual atmosphere make Zack a winner. We enjoyed out varied dishes including the pork and pastas. Everything was good, if not outstanding. The service was professional and unstuffy. The restaurant basically has the feel of a converted house. It's cozy. We would return.
