Really tasty and high quality food. Great service. And Chef Hekmat is remarkably welcoming and generous!
The ambiance was really nice - cozy and welcoming, with a great Azerbaijani atmosphere. I wish the restaurant lots of success and hope it becomes a favorite spot for many! I'll definitely visit again soon
I visited Nar Restaurant for the first time and tried their delicious national meals — everything was amazing! The flavors were authentic and beautifully prepared. I especially recommend the grilled fish cooked over the fire — it was perfectly done and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended to everyone!
Very tasty breakfast, which reminded me of homemade dishes! Amazing and attentive service and very pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely recommend stopping by and visiting this place!
Food (Dinner): Excellent. We had a good mixture of Georgian and Azerbaijanian food. We ordered the ciz biz beef liver, kachapuri, eggplant roll, fried khinkali, and cheesecake. This was some of the better beef liver I've had in a restaurant and the kachapuri was exactly what I was hoping for. The biggest surprise was the eggplant, which was our favorite dish that evening. The cheesecake was also very nice. Drinks: We had glasses of the Kisi Qvevri, Khikhvi Qvevri, pomegranate wine, and Saperavie. The former two whites were very unique done in the Georgian style of aging in clay vessels, which lend the whites a very unique flavor but they didn't yet have that intense nutty flavor you'd expect from long aged whites. They were still very good. The pomegranate wine was probably the most fascinating and a great option for pomegranate lovers. Saperavie is a more traditional deep red for those who enjoy Cab reds. Overall a very nice selection of old world wines. Service: The owner (or the person I assume is the owner), was very interesting. He seems dedicated to ensuring we all had the optimal dining experience. There was a lot of attention to detail with respect to lighting, noise level of the music playing overhead, etc. He's clearly very passionate about the restaurant. Atmosphere: Nice, open, well lit dining room with windows all around. No particular commentary beyond that. Side note: apparently they serve traditional brunch on weekends. I'll be returning at some point to try it.
Went here with a group of 7 and we god great service and amazing food! This has the best Georgian food I’ve had outside of Georgia can’t wait to come back here with literally everyone I know!
Lovely new restaurant! Burrata appetizer was perfect. We had the chicken sajj, lamb, and khachapuri. Also the pakhlava was yummy, not too sweet. The fragrant tea rounded everything out nicely, I appreciate the cuisine that has a tea culture.
Have you tried breakfast at Nar? Fresh bread and platters of dips and fresh ingredients. The restaurant doesn't do a good job on advertising their breakfast hours. But if you enjoy Parsian breakfast, here is a place to try.
I have so many good things to say about this place, not sure where to start. I used to go to their food truck (Olivia Bros) and noticed the folks operating the truck in the parking lot were tearing apart and remodeling the restaurant between serving patrons. Fast forward to today, and Nar has been open for less than two weeks. The host and servers are extremely welcoming, and the ambiance is great with a dark theme and traditional music. The food is fantastic and unique for this area. Between my friend and I, we tried about half the menu over two nights. There are a lot of nods to the culturally revered Pomegranate - Pomegranate sauce, juice, wine, as well as a giant pomegranate tree mural. My favorite part of the whole experience was meeting Hikmat, one of the co-owners and the outgoing face of the restaurant. He’s clearly passionate about food, this community, and most importantly, taking care of his employees. Wish I could give this place 10 stars.
You just have to go. WOW🤩 We ordered family style for a party of 7. Everything was a hit. Starting with the mezze. Stroganoff with mouthwatering mash. Crispy edged Branzino perfectly balanced with a tangy creamy sauce. Juicy lamb kabob paired with delectable oven potatoes. Tender Beefy rice wrapped in crunchy lavash. Pumpkin pilaf with morsels of apricot and pomegranate. Then dessert made in house. Moist and airy Honey cake. Creamy caramel-y basque cheesecake. Real banana on sponge and covered in chocolate and a skirt of walnuts. And don’t forget the Azerbaijani tea. We’re going back next month…
We tried the new Azerbaijani restaurant “Nar” in Mountain View today for breakfast, and everything was amazing! The food was fresh and incredibly delicious. The bread tasted just like traditional Azerbaijani tandir bread—they even bake it right in the restaurant, and it comes to the table warm and soft. Great flavors, great quality, and a very authentic experience. Highly recommend!
As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm interest and smiling face. The chef's mastery of both presentation and taste is really amazing. The dishes were visually great, and the flavors were literally perfect.
Fantastic halal restaurant with incredibly delicious food! My wife and I visited, and we both loved the meal. The service was excellent too.
What an amazing dinner! The food was bursting with flavor especially the spreads and the roasted beet salad. Fresh ingredients, generous portions, and such a cozy atmosphere. I’d definitely come back for another round!
Amazing and exotic food, a true visual feast, with a beautiful ambiance as well. I would definitely visit again and again.
Visited this place twice with my family. Both times happy with tasty food (plov, lamb chops and chicken wrap stood out) and attentive service. It also seems reasonably priced for the quality except for drinks which are somewhat more expensive than I'd expect.
Nar Restaurant is absolutely beautiful!!! 😍 The service was excellent from start to finish. The pomegranate wine was a standout, so unique and delicious, I’d never tried anything like it. My favorite cold appetizer was the eggplant roll, but honestly everything we had was great. Such a lovely experience, highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I tried the Ciz Biz, Nar Meat, and Shah Plov and honestly… to die for. Everything was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The music was beautiful and the atmosphere was so warm and cozy! Definitely coming back.
Very good and authentic food! The multi course option is delicious and very well priced! We were in a large group and got to try a bunch of different dishes, they were all great. The vibe is very charming and upscale and the staff are very friendly!
This place was such a surprise. I’m traveling for work so didn’t expect to find a lot of good restaurants. My late night alternative was In-And-Out Burger. So admittedly I was starting with low expectations. They do all the things a restaurant needs to do - The place is well decorated. The staff is friendly. The owner is present and stopped by to make sure I was happy and shared some of his background with me. Mostly, it was the food! I like Mediterranean food so this wasn’t too much of a stretch for me. Everything I ate was just really good. Dolma, lentil soup, that bread!, hummus, and Branzino. These guys are trying and it shows.
I recently visited this restaurant and I was absolutely delighted by both the food and the service. The dishes were delicious and beautifully presented, and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone😍😍😍
visited this restaurant today for the first time, and everything was truly impressive. The flavors were authentic, balanced, and beautifully presented. We tried the Cız Bız, Piti, and Saj, and each dish had its own unique taste and amazing quality — you can tell everything is prepared with real skill and care. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and want to come back with friends or family. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking to try something delicious and different. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had recently!
Such a lovely restaurant! The staff is so sweet, and the food was wonderful! As someone who has had a lot of home cooked Azeri food, this place totally hits the mark! Such a great atmosphere as well, the owner checked in throughout the meal and we had a great time!
We sampled nearly half the menu and were very pleased with both the food and service. Dishes were well-cooked to order, with a great variety and creative flavors inspired by Armenian, Azerbaijani, and Kyrgyz cuisines, accented by Silk Road spices. Friendly, polite staff—and even a warm handshake from the chef—made the experience memorable; keep the quality going and keep improving. Parking easy, more comfortable seat are appreciated. We definitely go back to try the rest of the menu.
We’ve dined here twice - for lunch and for dinner and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere both times! We’ve tried a lot of different dishes from the menu, and all of them were really delicious. Some of our favorites were the eggplant rolls, the eggplant salad, the shepherd salad, the Nar meat, the eggplant soup, Khachapuri, pumpkin plov, and the fish, just to name a few :). And they bake their own bread that’s the best! The service is very warm and welcoming too!
It was the nicest surprise for me because ever since I moved to California, I had been dreaming of finding Azerbaijani cuisine. We tried so many wonderful dishes, and I felt like I was back home. visit this restaurant because if you want to have dinner and have a great time, you should definitely go there. I was so charmed by the dishes that I even forgot to take photos of the restaurant’s atmosphere, but I did take pictures of all the dishes we tried. definitely recommend it!!!
Very warm and inviting place with an outstanding food. We were there with 3 teenagers and and everybody enjoyed their dishes. You can't go wrong. Great addition to out community. Loved it!
I visited NAR Restaurant today and absolutely loved everything about my experience. I ordered suzma, lamb chops, and gurza, and each dish was incredibly delicious and full of authentic flavor. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, the gurza was amazing, and the suzma tasted just like home. To finish, I ordered a tea pot with honey cake and Sebastian cheesecake, and both desserts were outstanding — the perfect sweet ending to a great meal. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and professional. I received every item right on time, which made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Caucasian cuisine and excellent service. I will definitely be coming back!
This restaurant does things properly. The ingredients taste fresh, the dishes are well balanced, and nothing feels rushed or sloppy. Service was attentive but not annoying, and the place was clean and comfortable. It’s obvious that the kitchen and the staff care about quality here. Strong recommendation)
My first time having Mediterranean food. My sister treated me for my birthday 🎂. Forgive me, I don't remember the names of the dish. We had one with liver and potatoes.... it was soo good! The second dish had chicken, potatoes, peppers, mushroom and onion. Delicious! The staff were very friendly, warm and welcoming. I would go again. Thank you sister! 😋🥰
What a lovely place! Warm and cozy ambiance, amazing food, great customer service. We spent a nice girls night out at this authentic restaurant that serves food from Caucasus & Mediterranean regions. My favorites were Ciz - biz with calf liver, lula-kebab, eggplant rolls, suzma and their home-made bread. Also their pahlava dessert was amazing too. Will be coming back!
We had a delicious meal at the new NAR restaurant in Mountain View that serves Azerbaijani food. The restaurant is conveniently located on El Camino Road with plenty of parking. We were a party of four who shared two outstanding appetizers and four delicious main courses. The appetizers we tried included Trio Mezze, a sampling of three delicious spreads, with mangal -- a spread made of chargrilled vegetables as the highlight, and Gurza, tender dumplings filled with spiced lamb. The mains we shared included a lamb shank which was prepared in a rich and aromatic sauce served with mashed potatos; Saj Chicken, marinated cornish hen pieces prepared in a flat iron pan which was crispy and succulent; lamb chops served with very fresh salad greens in a tangy salad dressing; and the surprise table favorite -- Ciz Biz (sizzling beef liver). One of our party who normally dislikes liver said this was so good that he would gladly order it again. All of the dishes were generously portioned and perfectly executed. For desert we had Caucasian Pakhlava which is similar to Baklava, but denser and filled with walnuts, which we enjoyed with Azerbaijani tea. A great ending to a lovely meal. We look forward to trying the other dishes on offer at this welcome addition to the local restaurant scene.
One of the best restaurants in the Bay Area. The eggplant rolls are one of the most tasty dishes I’ve had in my life. Service was impeccable.
If you want the best Azerbaijani food in town, this is the place. The balance of flavors in every dish was spot on, and the presentation was beautiful. Everything from the starters to the main course was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The staff is attentive without being overbearing, and the vibe of the restaurant is sophisticated yet cozy. 10/10, will definitely be coming back!
An excellent restaurant! So great that they opened in the area, the food is amazing and the service was exceptional. We ordered signature dishes like Khachapuri, Gurza, and Ciz Biz, and everything was outstanding. The soup, bread, eggplant, and the authentic Azerbaijani dessert were also excellent. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back soon.
Oh wow 10/10!!! Came here for breakfast and it was so so good!! Their bread is the best bread Ive had in the Bay. I would definitely recommend their Sausage Omelette and KhachaPuri. I liked it better than Turkish Breakfast in other places. Will def be back for lunch/dinner. Also, everything is halal!
NAR Restaurant was my first taste of Caucasus and Azerbaijani food, and it was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in years. Super high quality and dead-on authentic, right down to the flavors and plating. Even their basic hot tea was just fantastic. We did the prix-fixe lunch—you pick an app, salad or soup, and main—and owner Hikmat steered us right on what to order. Eggplant rolls and eggplant salad were both killer. I went with the piti, this lamb leg dish, and it was something else. Definitely coming back!
Great service, amazing food at very affordable prices. Great value and great experience. Much recommend to anyone who appreciates Mediterranean and Caucasian cuisine.
I deeply enjoyed the food and service here. Such a cool opportunity to try foods from Azerbaijan and across the Caucasus region. Started with a glass of regional red wine, which was fine. Loved the Gurza dumplings (think soup dumplings filled with tender lamb and juices, with a yogurt dipping sauce). **Really loved** the Saj Chicken. Wow. Pieces of Cornish game hen that are roasted with vegetables so they are tender and oily and flavorful and just fabulous. Finished with the honey cake and some hot tea. The cake was pillow soft and just sweet and spiced enough to make it easy to finish the whole thing. I’m more of a coffee person than tea but the woodsy flavor of the tea was a wonderful pairing with the cake. Everyone was beyond friendly. Suffice to say I will be coming back asap.
An absolute gem for anyone looking to experience authentic Azerbaijani hospitality. From the moment we walked into NAR, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting—perfect for a relaxed dinner. The flavors are incredibly traditional; you can tell everything is prepared with high-quality ingredients and a lot of heart. The service was top-notch, making us feel more like guests in a home than customers in a restaurant. Highly recommend
We visited NAR Restaurant for breakfast with our family, and everything was excellent. The food was good , the tea was incredibly aromatic, and the hospitality truly felt authentic and Caucasian — something we’ve really been missing in Mountain View for a long time. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfect for a family meal. We will definitely be coming back for dinner. Highly recommended!
I was delighted to discover a new place within walking distance of our home that also serves breakfast. Anar (Pomegranate) is my favourite fruit, so I was drawn to the name. We tried their breakfast today - they have a small but lovely selection, including a set for 2 and a set for 4 people. I had the Kuku (Dill omelette) that was made with a generous dose of greens. The bread was fresh and delicious. I would love to go back for lunch/dinner too as the menu looks inviting.
This restaurant is often described as Caucasian cuisine, but after looking it up, it is actually Azerbaijani cuisine. We visited around noon on a Saturday, and the restaurant already had several tables occupied. One thing to note: if anyone at the table orders a set menu, everyone at the table must also order the set. Bread is included and served warm, which was very enjoyable. Appetizers & Soup: - Hummus: Pretty standard, paired nicely with the bread. - Eggplant Roll: Well-prepared and flavorful, filled with a walnut garlic paste—highly recommended. - Smoky Eggplant Soup: My first time trying this type of soup; slightly sour and quite unique. - Choban (Shepherd) Salad: Very fresh, with a fairly strong cheese flavor, and overall delicious. Main Dishes: - Lule Kabob (lamb): A bit salty for my taste, though I often find kabobs salty in general. It comes with plenty of fresh greens. - Lamb Chops (2 pcs): Very well executed—perfect doneness, tender, and flavorful. This was my favorite dish. Drinks: In addition to water, hot tea is available. The herbal tea was quite good. Overall, the atmosphere is pleasant and suitable for gathering and conversation, and the staff are friendly.
Such a great breakfast experience in the Bay Area, The tea and hot bread were incredibly tasty. Turns out it was their very first day offering breakfast, and they made it great. You must try their Turkish-style breakfast. The hot main dishes in the picture hadn’t even arrived yet! Thanks to manager Hikmat and chef who made our day with their delicious breakfast!
We first visited while the restaurant was still preparing for its opening, and now we’ve returned after the official opening. We’re impressed with everything about this place—the décor and ambiance are lovely. We really enjoyed our dinner, and everything was delicious. The baklava and traditional black tea at the end were a perfect finish. We’ll definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu. The service was excellent.
I wish I had taken photos of the food before I INHALED it. Really enjoyed my first time at this restaurant. We were able to make a reservation online and I’m glad we did because the restaurant was very busy. My partner and I shared the Trio Mezze which was super flavorful. I got the Nar Meat and she got the lamb kebab. The lamb was so tender and flavorful.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely delicious — especially the kebabs and fresh bread. Everything tastes authentic and freshly prepared, with good portions. The desserts were also amazing — perfectly sweet and fresh. It’s a great place for both family dinners and meeting friends. We will definitely come back again!
Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor! The mix of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern touches made the whole experience special. The appetizers were vibrant and fresh especially the beet salad with pomegranate and the creamy cheese bruschetta topped with sun-dried tomatoes. The warm pita bread was perfect, and the stuffed pastry was rich and delicious. Each bite tasted homemade, balanced, and thoughtfully prepared. Truly a memorable meal both for the eyes and the taste buds!
A brand new spot for Caucasian fine dining has just opened in the South Bay, and we couldn’t wait to check it out! We came with friends and tried a variety of appetizers and kebabs, each dish was delicious and full of flavor. The meal ended on a high note with traditional Azerbaijani tea that truly reminded us of home. So glad to see this cuisine represented locally. I’m excited to come back and try even more dishes, and I’m looking forward to bringing my friends from different backgrounds to experience these amazing flavors. Wishing the team lots of success!
Such a warm and welcoming place! The food is delicious, portions are generous, and everything feels freshly made with love. You can feel true Caucasian and Eastern hospitality in every detail — from the way you’re greeted to the sweet jam they bring at the end. Thank you, NAR Restaurant, for keeping the spirit of home alive in every meal! 🤍🍯
I’ve been to NAR Restaurant several times, and every visit has been amazing. The food is consistently delicious — rich flavors, perfectly cooked meat, and beautiful presentation. Everything tastes fresh and authentic. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, making it a great place for a relaxed dinner. Service is always friendly and attentive. One of those places you keep coming back to — highly recommended.
It was a really wonderful dinner night at this beautiful restaurant with well behaved, very polite and professional staff. We really enjoyed and definitely will come back. Great atmosphere, fresh and delicious food! Everything was so good! Really appreciate your hospitality and professionalism!
I finally tried NAR in Mountain View and wow - it's the real deal for authentic Caucasian and Azerbaijani food. NAR means pomegranate which totally fits with the fresh bright flavors they bring. The eggplant rolls were killer - smoky tender eggplant stuffed and drizzled with that walnut garlic sauce tangy and nutty just right. Choban salad came next super fresh chopped tomatoes cucumbers onions herbs olive oil dressing - nothing fancy but so clean and refreshing. Mains were insane. Ciz Biz hit hard - that sizzling lamb liver tail fat potatoes spices all fried up rich savory umami overload in the best way. Friend ordered Shah Plov and breaking that crispy lavash crust to reveal the lamb rice dried fruits apricots chestnuts spices steaming inside - aromas were unreal heavenly. Saj Chicken too juicy marinated pieces on the hot iron pan with onions peppers herbs exploding with flavor every bite. We wrapped up with honey cake light creamy not too sweet perfect ender. Everything felt homemade genuine no fake twists just true Azerbaijani/Caucasian grub super delicious bold flavors. If you're near MV and want something different NAR is it, already planning round two for the Piti.
The food is great and unique in the area. I haven’t had anything like it. The owner is clearly passionate and excited about his new restaurant, and his personality really makes me cheer for this place's success. The portions are small, so you may want to order a side or an app alongside your main entrée. In my estimation, the amount of food isn’t worth the price, but whether the uniqueness is worth the price tag is up to you. So far as the ambiance, the lighting is too warm, making it difficult to enjoy the way the food looks. I’m sure it’s very pretty. I also did accidentally get charged for a complimentary item, which was a bummer.
We had a wonderful experience at NAR Restaurant hosting our book club lunch. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by beautiful light, crisp white linens, and a calm, elegant atmosphere. We enjoyed fragrant hot tea and an array of delicious dishes from the Kavkaz region — everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The service was attentive and thoughtful, and to our delight, we were treated to a lovely tasting of their pomegranate wine at the end. Thank you for your warm hospitality and a truly memorable afternoon. We will definitely be back.
We liked this place for really unique food, artfully presented and very tasty. Prices were reasonable, actually lower than we would expect for this quality of food. Waiters are friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come again!
Amazing dinner! Everything was incredibly delicious from the salads to the meat. The wine was exquisite and perfectly complemented the dishes. The service was top-level — very friendly, attentive, and professional staff. Special thanks to our waitress, Zhibek, for her warm attitude and excellent service. We will definitely come back and highly recommend this place to everyone!
I had a brunch the other day at Nar restaurant. The food was very delicious and fresh. We had two types of Lule kebab, hachapuri, honey cake. The service was top notch. Also their tea is very aromatic and good. Will come again and recommend to my friends.
Absolutely loved this place! The food was incredibly delicious, the atmosphere was warm and beautifully designed, and the people were so kind and welcoming. Everything came together perfectly to make our visit truly enjoyable. Definitely a spot I’d love to come back to!
Really nice breakfast. A little pricey for 1 person but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The dill omelette was outstanding with their hot sauce. The bread was fantastic and the tea was great. I will be coming back with family in the future for lunch and dinner. Just tried dinner. It was amazing and the atmosphere is terrific. Highly recommend NAR.
The atmosphere is wonderful! It was elegant yet welcoming. The service was very nice and impressively speedy, while still maintaining fine-dining–level politeness and manners. The food was delicious; the lamb was especially good and arrived quickly. The flower/fruit tea was amazing — you can smell its aroma the moment you step into the restaurant. We had the lunch course, which we really enjoyed, and the breakfast menu looked equally amazing. very exotic and special to us. We’ll definitely be back to try breakfast next time!
A new restaurant in town that is a must try! The quality of food, the extremely friendly service, and the ambiance is great! Great for dates, group dinners! Owner is super friendly and makes sure you are well treated.
New Middle Eastern restaurant with very authentic flavors. Seasoning is well balanced, lamb is tender with no gamey taste, and the hummus pairs perfectly with the fresh bread. Comfortable atmosphere and a great place to sit and chat. Would come back.
An Unforgettable Azerbaijani Dining Experience at Nar Restaurant If you’re looking for truly authentic, fresh, and homemade Azerbaijani food, Nar Restaurant is an absolute must. We started with eggplant rolls and mangal, and both were excellent. Then we had the lentil soup, which tasted completely homemade, warm, and comforting, along with a fresh and flavorful Choban salad. For the main course, we ordered Ciz Biz and Saj Chicken. I have to especially mention the Ciz Biz — it was incredibly nostalgic and took both my husband and me straight back to our childhood and our mother’s cooking. This is not a dish you usually find in restaurants, and this was the first time I ever experienced such an authentic and perfectly made version. Made with lamb liver and potatoes, it was absolutely outstanding. The Saj Chicken, prepared with Cornish hen and fresh vegetables, was equally delicious, with a truly homemade taste. What really sets Nar Restaurant apart is the freshness and homemade quality of the food — you can genuinely taste the care in every bite. On top of that, the restaurant owner ,Hikmat, is incredibly warm, friendly, and welcoming, which makes the entire experience even more special. I also can’t say enough about the bread — it’s baked in-house and was so delicious that I couldn’t stop eating it. For dessert, we had the San Sebastian cheesecake and Azerbaijani baklava, and both were absolute masterpieces and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Highly, highly recommended. I will definitely be coming back many times to try every single item on the menu. An authentic, heartfelt, and unforgettable dining experience.
“Nar Restaurant has become our favorite place. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing. Everything is so tasteful, the food is amazing, and the place offers a truly enchanting flavor in every bite
We had a really enjoyable meal at Nar and are glad we discovered this new offering in Mountain View. They’ve done a lovely job in establishing an elegant ambiance in what has served a variety of different restaurants over the years. Service is very friendly and informative. Menu is a mix of familiar Central Asian/Pan Arab dishes and unfamiliar Azerbaijani specialities. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We don’t normally order dessert but there were also some interesting sweets, so we shared. They have several Central Asian wines to try as well!
Visited NAR restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was incredibly delicious, everything was fresh and well-prepared. The place is very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend — we will definitely come back!
1/3/2026 NAR Restaurant 286 W El Camino Real Mountain View, CA 94041 I went to this new Azerbaijani/American place on ECR in MTV next to the Jack in the Box. This was recently a Chinese restaurant and has been nicely remodeled with an upscale contemporary table and chair setup interior. There is parking that wraps around the building. I ordered the Ciz Biz (pronounced Ch) lunch plate along with the suggested bread. Service was helpful, attentive and good. The bread loaf came first and was very long (could feed 4). It was a little chewy but soft and good. The Ciz Biz (beef liver slices with potato cubes and some grilled onions) is good if you like liver and the onions. Be sure to ask for more onions because the flavor and sweetness accompanies the liver well. Great place for liver and onions lovers. It's repeatable.
We made a reservation for 10 people. The table was ready by our arrival. The owner greeted us and made a conversation in Azerbaijanian, Russian and English. It was our first time and we ordered a lot!! Everything was absolutely delicious. We just came back from Baku, and being in this restaurant reminded us about our wonderful trip. I loved everything: the atmosphere, the service and the food. Highly recommend this place to everybody who wants to have a great time and a wonderful meal.
An inviting restaurant to enjoy a very nice dinner. From the warm welcome upon entering, to the delicious food and attentive service, everything was great. Definitely will be coming back again.
An incredible new gem in the South Bay! We visited NAR Restaurant today on their opening day, and everything was truly impressive — from the warm atmosphere to the beautifully presented dishes. We tried the Ciz Biz, Piti, and Saj Chicken, and each one was outstanding! The Ciz Biz was sizzling and full of deep lamb flavor, the Piti was rich and comforting with chickpeas and tender meat, and the Saj Chicken was perfectly marinated and cooked on the cast iron pan — so juicy and aromatic. The service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience felt like dining in a high-end restaurant with a very welcoming family touch. It’s exciting to finally have an authentic Azerbaijani/Caucasian restaurant in the Bay Area.
I’m so glad my friend told me about Nar restaurant. It’s the perfect place if you want to try a new cuisine that’s full of flavor and the authentic vibe of the Caucasus mountains. We had khachapuri, choban salad, and eggplant rolls everything was fresh, super tasty, and the service was great! The wine was amazing too, made with traditional methods and full of rich flavor.
Very awesome experience! Atmosphere was great, spacious for a large party and music not too loud so we could all talk. Service was on point and super friendly. Food all tasted great. We tried 2 semi-dry wines both were quite on the sweet side though. For large parties they can also do pre-fixe menu which helps to keep the budget in check while making sure everyone tries different things, which we will for sure do next time.
⭐ 5/5 I stopped by for the first time today and was genuinely impressed. It’s great to find a place that serves Azerbaijani and Caucasian cuisine with this level of quality. I ordered the Cizbiz, which is a dish of liver and potatoes fried together in a pan, and it was delicious. The liver was tender, the potatoes were perfectly crispy—overall a very satisfying plate. For dessert, I tried the Malaga Cake, and it was the perfect way to finish the meal. Soft, creamy, and with a light banana flavor, it exceeded my expectations. The place is clean, the service is quick, and the staff is friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was incredibly delicious, the atmosphere was warm and beautifully designed, and the people were so kind and welcoming. Everything came together perfectly to make our visit truly enjoyable. Definitely a spot I’d love to come back to!
Visited NAR restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was incredibly delicious, everything was fresh and well-prepared. The place is very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend — we will definitely come back!
A new restaurant in town that is a must try! The quality of food, the extremely friendly service, and the ambiance is great! Great for dates, group dinners! Owner is super friendly and makes sure you are well treated.
New Middle Eastern restaurant with very authentic flavors. Seasoning is well balanced, lamb is tender with no gamey taste, and the hummus pairs perfectly with the fresh bread. Comfortable atmosphere and a great place to sit and chat. Would come back.
This is my second time visiting this restaurant. Both lunch and dinner are always delicious, and the service is excellent. Highly recommend this cozy place🫶
Absolutely amazing experience at Nar. Everything was perfect from the food to the service. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend!
The Turkish breakfast is legendary and i heard good things about this place; but unfortunately an untold strange fact is they stop serving at 1pm sharp (we were there at 1:10). They also close at 2pm. very strange. try it but be on time! they have absolutely no grace on this issue.
4.5 really We had the mezze trio (excellent), two mains, and two desserts. The Nar meat was tender, and the pomegranate sauce surprisingly tasty. Bread is extra, but great. Honey cake was light and fluffy, baklava dense and tasty. There's a good wine list, with a lot of Azerbaijani wine, and pretty much everything is available by the glass. I wish there were some tasting notes to give you an idea of what you were going to get. (We liked all but the most expensive red, which was too sweet for us.) Service was friendly, and all the staff helped out at all the tables, making it pretty efficient. There were a couple of delays in getting our wine, but otherwise good.
If you are looking to experience something different, then this is the place since it’s the first Azerbaijani restaurant I n South Bay. The food didn’t impress me because everything had the same sauce, pomegranate ( the name Nar means pomegranate, but that doesn’t mean you should use it literally). I’m sorry but almost everything was bland. The only dish that I will reorder again is the Eggplant soup. Every other dish was over priced with tiny portions. Service on the other hand, was absolutely wonderful. The owner checked on every table on few rounds. Would I go back? Perhaps, if I crave eggplant soup! I truly want to give them 5 stars, but it won’t be fair to real 5 stars restaurants.
Ordered the ground chicken kebab. The 1 skewer was only about 8 inches. Meat was tender and has good flavor. Came with plain basmati rice and salad. This was $26. Nice decor, but tables were crowded. Would not want to go back due to price to meat ratio. I would expect at least 2 skewers at that price.
Amazing atmosphere and attentive service. I really wanted to give this 5 stars, but the food overall leaned on the mild side for us. The lamb shank was flavorful, though it would benefit from being served in a larger bowl to better retain heat and accommodate the vegetables. The lamb kofta was a bit dry, possibly overcooked. The jalapeño poppers were fine, with a more casual, comfort-food vibe. On the brighter side, the fries were great, the cheese bread boat was delicious, and the dolma really stood out. The rice was beautifully fragrant; once we added a bit of salt, it tasted excellent. Having tried Georgian cuisine (similar) elsewhere, we feel this spot has a lot of potential and could really shine with a bit more confidence in seasoning. The Bay Area has adventurous palates, and a little extra depth and boldness would likely be well received. Still worth trying; just be prepared to reach for the salt shaker!

Perhaps we were simply unlucky, but sizzling beef liver dish "Ciz Biz" was not sizzling at all. It was clearly not freshly cooked. It seemed to have been reheated from a previously prepared batch, was tough to chew, and had very little flavor. The lamb ribs with berries were also disappointing. It was essentially meat covered with what tasted like a sweet berry compote. Berry sauces can pair well with meat when properly balanced and seasoned, but this one lacked any spices or depth and tasted more like dessert than a savory accompaniment. Overall, we expected more flavor and a better adherence to proper culinary techniques.
