My lovely friends treated me to afternoon tea at Satchmo's. It was delightful - delicious and excellent quality food with the various dietary requirements of 13 ladies easily managed. The staff were helpful, friendly and professional throughout. A very enjoyable afternoon. I would definitely recommend Satchmo's. Thank you to André and the team 🥰
We visited Satchmo's corner today for an afternoon tea with my friend. Everything was amazing. The staff was friendly and professional. The afternoon tea was delicious and fresh they told us that they made everything from scratch scones ,marmalade, and cakes, and you could see the difference . The atmosphere is great. I'm definitely going back.
Satchmos is a great restaurant, its got a lovely atmosphere to it and the staff ive met so far are friendly, attentive enough without being overbearing in any way and always have a smile. My food was 10/10 beautifully presented and tasted lovely. I look forward to coming again, thank you.
Delicious French toast - a satisfying end to my hunt for this dish in Rugby. Thank you!! I'm looking forward to trying other things on the menu. My first time eating here. Have visited a couple of times, since they recently started hosting salsa dance events. Highly recommend! Beautifully decorated, sumptuous, quality food and lovely people.
I’m so glad there is such a beautiful and stylish place in Rugby. We booked a table for our wedding anniversary and the entire team made our evening special. The taste and presentation of the food was great. They know how to make cocktails properly and not too sweet. We’ll definitely be back.
WOW!! The food is amazing! This was our first visit to Satchmo’s and we will absolutely be returning! The staff were all so friendly and polite, there was a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and the service and food were incredible. Thank you for a great evening, we will see you soon!
We had an amazing Christmas day dinner. The staff were nice and attentive the all wished us a merry Christmas as we entered. The food was amazing it looked far too good to eat we were not disappointed when we did the different flavours all complimented each other perfectly. Will definitely be going again.
It was indeed a very nice and cosy atmosphere. The waiter was extremely attentive and friendly, whilst the atmosphere was luxurious and welcoming. The food was delicious, and the presentation of the meals were outstanding. The waiter always came in to check on us if we were fine or if we needed anything, which is something that most restaurants don’t have. You have lots of drink options, including wines, juices, sparkling water, soft drinks, and so many others. If I could give this restaraunt a Michelin star, it definitely deserves at least one.
Andrei looked after us for the post-funeral gathering after my husband's funeral. From my very first enquiry until we left after the event, we were kindly and gently looked after. Nothing was too much trouble and throughout there was a calm approach which gave us complete confidence. The food was superb with allergies catered for with no problem. Thank you for everything on what was the hardest day of our lives.
Rugby peeps, if you have not yet tried the menu at Satchmo's Corner.....OMG are you missing an orgasmic mouth sensation. Whoever is the Chef creating this magical taste wonderland needs a Michelin star or two...the food is amazing and so are the cocktails. We can not wait to take our next culinary adventure here. Thank you to all the staff for a memorable evening.
Went for the second time today for a birthday treat. Simply the best meal we've had in Rugby by a country mile. Yes, a bit more expensive, but these days you have to pay so much for an average meal that you might as well throw in a few extra pounds and REALLY treat yourselves. Utterly delightful food!
We had waited a while before going as there had been some initial dodgy reviews about service but we had an impromptu lunch and really enjoyed it. The fitting out has been done really nicely and it was a really nice vibe, relaxed with a bit of glam added in. Jazz style music and fairly busy so a vibe..the bar being in the middle of the restaurant gives it some atmosphere. There is a cool chill out area with sofas which is nice. Oddly the men's toilet, disabled and baby change is all one so I hope they manage to keep it clean for a baby change. Waiter was very friendly and attentive Food was plentiful and very tasty We would definitely come back again and really enjoyed it for a Saturday afternoon eats. Bill was £50 for two burgers, two white wine spritzers and two cokes.
Thoroughly enjoyable night at Satchmo's on Saturday! It was busy with a Christmas event, Saturday night diners and people there for drinks, but the staff did such a wonderful job of keeping everything running smoothly. Great atmosphere, great music, well worth a visit.
Great new place in Rugby, fine modern English dining. The place is very nice, I believe before it was a bank and they renovated very nicely. The food is amazing and the staff is really really nice and professional. I struggle to find a place that does a proper risotto, but this is not the case, proper spot on!! It's definitely a place to come back to!
I loved my visit here whilst visiting family. Excellent atmosphere. The manager and staff were all so friendly and attentive. They couldn’t do enough for us. I recommend it to everyone if you get the chance. I can’t wait to go back!
Great service from start to finish. Greeted by Joe and shown around. Beautiful place and decor. Food and drink, delicious! All the staff were happy which I take as a good sign the management is good. If you’re looking for cheap grub it’s not the place for you, this place is an experience. Thank you for bringing class to Rugby. Will go again .
Amazing ambience. Satchmo's is one of the most ideal place to celebrate your anniversary or a cozy dinner with your family. Food excellent Service is really good. Adrian and Lita were really great with their attention and timely service. Overall a great effort Satchmos team. Keep up the good work in being a good gem of a fine dining restaurant in Rugby.
Went for a memorial meal for a passed family member. The atmosphere was calm and inviting and the brunch orders were delicious and well presented. It’s beautifully decorated and the staff were warm and attentive. Myself and my whole family were extremely impressed. I believe that people who comment about preferring microwaved meals from elsewhere don’t know what freshly prepared food tastes like. We will definitely be returning!
Lovely meal. Beautiful venue, great service.
The owner, Gillian, is gorgeous. The restaurant is amazing and perfect. Lovely people, the waitresses, their service was brilliant. The foods were excellent. Recommend this place. 10 stars . Agnes
You won't be disappointed. Five star to the chef and felt like home..a very posh one!
What a lovely place, really atmospheric and relaxed with amazing food. Classic dishes cooked to perfection with carefully selected ingredients. Great value for money, hoping for a return visit soon. The staff are brilliant! Thank you.
Busy Saturday night but really enjoyed the atmosphere. Food was amazing, the staff were very friendly. Very good wine recommendations.
Dining at Satchmo’s was an absolute treat from start to finish. From the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and refined — a place that feels special without ever being pretentious. The standout of the evening was, without a doubt, the lamb. Cooked to perfection, it was tender, rich, and bursting with flavour. Each bite practically melted in the mouth, complemented beautifully by a rich jus and thoughtfully chosen sides that elevated the dish even further. It’s rare to find a main course that feels this well-balanced and memorable — the chef clearly knows exactly what they’re doing. Service throughout the evening was exceptional. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, striking that ideal balance of being available when needed without hovering. You could tell they genuinely cared about the customer experience.
Absolutely lovely! It was a Tuesday evening and the place was busy. Deservedly so. It's a class above the rest. The prices may be a little a over the norm but for that you get very good food, attentive service (if the table server sees you pouring your own wine they dash over and pour it for you). The jazz band was just lovely....didn't think I liked jazz music but it's just beautiful to enjoy your meal to....and bear in mind it's Tuesday! So many diners can't be wrong. Thank you for a lovely night Sachmo. It was our first time with you and we will definitely be back for our special occasions. Keep it special, keep the riff raff out x
I had lunch with my wife and we had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff were friendly and professional, and the food was absolutely delicious. Easily the best restaurant in Rugby! We’ll definitely be back soon.
Great atmosphere. Very tasty food, friendly staff. Definitely we be back there.
Satchmo’s Corner delivers a refined yet relaxed dining experience with its beautifully restored setting, cozy ambiance, and occasional live music that adds to the charm. The food is creative and flavorful, offering a mix of British and Mediterranean dishes, from fresh seafood to comforting classics and elegant desserts. Service is warm and courteous, though it may vary slightly during busy periods. Ideal for a stylish lunch, intimate dinner, or a leisurely afternoon tea.
I chose Satchmo’s for my 50th birthday meal with my family, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food was delicious, but what truly stood out was the professionalism and care shown by the staff. They made the whole evening feel special, and their attention to detail created such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It’s rare these days to find service delivered with this level of pride and genuine care, and it made my milestone birthday one to remember. A big thank you to everyone at Satchmo’s — we’ll definitely be back!
First time visiting and found the Bread and Dips starter, Ribeye Steaks really good (recommend). They have a good wine selection and an additional wine menu, if you fancy something special. We were seated near the bar, a couple of times it felt a little cramped as people walked by / carried food. However, I presume asking (when booking) to be seated in specific areas wouldn’t be an issue. The back of the restaurant looked lovely with comfortable seating and near to where they have music. Has a great looking cocktail menu!
Great vibe and good place to meet. Sofas and armchairs as well as tables. Staff high quality. Food very well presented.
Lovely atmosphere, food nicely presented although wasn’t hot when bought out had to send back. But no bother. Desserts were beautifully presented and tasteful. Waiters pleasant and attentive. Constructive feedback would be the younger staff may need a bit more training on their hospitality skills, and to ask the customers before removing condiments from the table would be nice. Overall a pleasant experience.
I had vegan pancakes with a berry compote which was very yummy. The person I was with had a full English, it looked nicely cooked and apparently was pretty good. The green tea lacked flavour, it was basically a pot of warm water. One waitress was really nice and helpful (the one with cool piercings), the other was quite rude. I was asking about the contents of the food to make sure there was no dairy as I have an allergy, so I asked her what was in a biscuit and she just told me ‘it’s a biscuit’ and was quite off with me. Turns out it had butter, so I double checked my pancakes were completely dairy free (as no one seemed concerned about allergens) and the nice waitress confirmed, whilst the rude one said abruptly that ‘it’s clear on the menu’. I don’t think asking two questions is impolite of me, considering I have an allergy (and recently had anaphylactic shock). I would return for the pancakes, but will consider trying somewhere else because of the ambience the off-waitress created.
Visited Satchmo Corner for breakfast and was really impressed with the warm, inviting atmosphere and lovely surroundings – it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy a morning meal. I opted for the full English (minus mushrooms & black pudding), which was hearty and well-cooked, but I was a little disappointed there wasn’t an option to add or swap items – something I would have liked. I was also surprised it didn’t come with toast, though I may have missed this as an option when ordering. It would have been a nice addition. My partner went for the three egg omelette, and it was absolutely delicious – light, fluffy, and full of flavour. Definitely worth trying! Overall, the atmosphere and presentation make Satchmo Corner a place I’d happily visit again, and with just a couple more options on the breakfast menu, it would be spot on.
Great food, this place could be amazing if... -The lighting was more ambient rather than downlighters used. -Service could definitely be slicker, waiters and waitresses were very friendly and tried hard but a number of items were dropped and some training could help. - Some of the decor could be improved, the banquette cushions were thin and constantly fell off. Would be amazing if they were twice as thick studded and fitted cushions. - Could have done with a proper menu to start with rather than a laminated sheet. Menu was given later - More beer options rather than just two bottled lagers. Honestly nice place, great location, absolutely amazing food... just needs some finishing. We visited in the first month and definitely inproved. We'll come back in 6 months and see how it's progressing
Really lovely ambience, pleasant service (polite and friendly yet really professional, such a brilliant balance delicately done like the food! and the food… really tasty food with such lovely flavours. Definitely recommended
Lovely meal here, booked same day and was thrilled to get a table. Service was lovely but quite slow but would go back again! Food was brilliant.
Mid week birthday meal. Food was ok. Could do with some seasoning. I asked the waiter for salt and pepper, before I got a change to use it he grabbed and said it's needed for another table. Not everything was available on the menu. It's a bit pricey for what you get. The restaurant was very cold so we kept our jumpers on. Make sure you wrap up warm. This was booked in advance for a birthday but it lacked attention.
I really liked the interior of this restaurant – it is cosy, atmospheric and stylish. The staff were very kind and welcoming, which made me feel comfortable. However, I was very disappointed with the dish I ordered from the dining menu. I had the Seafood Tagliatelle, and unfortunately it was poorly prepared. The prawns were overcooked and rubbery, the pasta was also overcooked, and the whole dish lacked seasoning. It is surprising, because England has such great ingredients, yet the dish felt like a missed opportunity. That said, I would still like to give this place another chance – perhaps for breakfast or cocktails, as the atmosphere is lovely. But I wouldn’t come back here again for lunch or dinner.
Went for the first time tonight. Starter ok, main cold, sent it back and it came out piping hot, a food turn off for me, mains food was undercooked for me. Dessert ok, wouldn't go again.
I was disappointed with everything; I’ve drove past so many times and it looks gorgeous but sadly the food was disappointing, the restaurant is freezing, and it’s super pricey. Fish portion is really small and to be honest I found the waiter rude. Did however have a helpful waitress. Would not return.
Came for a drink with my wife for our date night. We ordered drinks only. Very nice to sit in the back with drinks. Lovely drinks but the place is very cold. Don’t think we will come here again. Decided to eat elsewhere where it’s warmer as don’t fancy eating in a very cold place with my coat on plus we spend £50 just for two drinks each.
Really nice cocktails… but the staff were terrible. They didn’t seem to like us ordering drinks and when we did they served warm Prosecco. There was a lovely piano… but I started to play it and was told to stop. Apparently it isn’t allowed. Honestly - don’t go.
A large group of us went for drinks only so my food score is for the drinks. One was very nice, the other just ok, the prices high. Unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible, rude, worst I have experienced near enough anywhere. The head waiter (manager?) in a waistcoat let some of our party inside but refused entry to the rest, stating there wasn't enough seats, splitting our group up and it taking us a long time to get in - only after one of our group came back for us. There was 2 tables free and plenty of seats, nobody had left since yet this man had been repeatedly rude to us and never apologised once. I didn't want to even stay after that but over half of the group had already ordered drinks by then. The waitress told us that we couldn't order at the bar, it was table service only - this isn't true and I wish I had known. 3 of us ordered a drink each together and over 40 minutes later we were still waiting for our drinks. Others were waiting even longer. Those going to the bar waited less though. The second round a young waitress (these were all polite ladies) asked if we wanted to order drinks? I said yes, asked my friend what she wanted at which the waitress left without waiting for the order and never returned. We were jawdropped. She was at the bar cleaning glasses when I went to order. As for the atmosphere? The decor in the restaurant area looked fine from what I saw passing through, toilets beautiful, the lounge however seems unfinished. A set of bright spotlights shining in our eyes, music blasting so loud from a dj booth and stand speakers that we could barely talk, one of us eventually had to request it was turned down as it was actually painful in volume. The speakers stood directly over people's chairs. The decor here could be lovely but looked unfinished, artwork that was stylish all sat along a mid level shelf crammed together and a jumbled mess while walls were bare. People were having to wait so very long for drinks orders in the lounge that frustration was palpable, not only our group. Later other people were let in and given tall stools in the middle of the walkway with no table. A speaker moved aside. It was ridiculous for them. Then a very low table added below their reach. We were booking Satchmo's for our Christmas event and we often dine out in groups between 10-30 people, after this evening we decided to a person to book elsewhere for out December meal and never use Satchmo again for our social gatherings after the awful treatment and even worse waiting times!
I took my family for Christmas Day Lunch 5 of us 4adults 1child the worst meal I have ever had 6 courses which four of the course’s Was a joke two small tarts a small Roll with crab & I don’t no what was in it pumpkin soup in a shot class The lunch had 3 sprouts on every one’s plate 2 roast potatoes under cooked turkey was ok Yorkshire pudding hard to cut & Christmas pudding dreadful £135-00 per. Head All I could do was laugh it was a joke I don’t no how they could serve it to people staff was polite
