i was skeptical at first seeing the exterior of the building. then i read some of the reviews and thought i’d give it a try. coming from excellent sushi restaurants from atlanta i was in dire need of some good sushi, though the selection wasnt as vast as i’m used to the selection and quality of the food was excellent. i was pleasantly surprised. not to mention the service was friendly. i highly recommend if you need some good quality sushi or hibachi fix.

Best sushi in town. Anytime I wanted to try anything new the lady knew what I would like due to my usual orders. If you live in Watertown try it out. You will not be disappointed.

We called in our order for pickup and there was a bit of confusion and we ended up getting 2 rolls we did not order and not getting 2 rolls we ordered. I never would have thought a place called Sushi express would be so good but my boyfriend had me try it and their sushi is so fresh and so Yummy!!. I also enjoy their avocado salad and cucumber salad everything is very fresh there. The employees are very friendly and cheerful. The atmosphere is bright and it is very clean . The prices seem to be getting higher lately however it is managable if you are just getting the sushi roll.

Good sushi for Watertown. This is the only place I will buy sushi because I trust it wont make me sick. It really is delicious and they have tons of different kinds of sushi you can get. Service is quick. If you want a large order, call ahead and it can usually be ready in half an hour or so.

I'm a huge sushi lover so I'm pretty picky when it comes to sushi restaurants. But this place was definitely one of the best places I've ever eaten sushi at. The fish is fresh, the flavored are amazing and the portions fill you up! Love it! New favorite place.

My friend and I went here after he told.me.him and his mother go to this place all the time. I was a bit skeptical of the quality at first, but then we both got Ramune (just ask for Japanese soda, and they will tell you what flavors they have) My friend got the Godzilla Roll, (which has a nice warmth to it, and is delicious!) I got the beauty and the beast roll, which was absolutely amazing! If you can't use chopsticks well (like me,) don't worry. They will provide you with a fork 🤗

I have been ordering from Sushi Express for years now, and not once have I had a bad experience. I've tried a lot of different things from their menu and they were all fantastic! Others in Watertown are good, but Sushi Express has the best quality in my opinion. Service is awesome. My orders are always ready on time, never wrong, and they are always pleasant! Honestly my favorite take out spot in the area.

This should really be the go to location in Watertown if you want quality sushi. Family run business with a relaxing and unassuming atmosphere Idk about the review where someone said they waited 2 hours for fried rice. Every time I’ve gone here whether it was for pickup or dine in I’ve had a terrific experience and didn’t end up waiting much at all. Try their miso soup it’s really splendid. Personally my favorite menu item is Rainbow Roll. I must have gotten it from here over a dozen times.

This is the BEST place in the greater Watertown area to get sushi. ALWAYS good. We have been going to Sushi Express for YEARS and we have NEVER had a bad meal there. Just had it again on 6/13/23 for our son's 18th birthday and they did NOT disappoint! EAT HERE!!

It was delicious. I placed my order and within minutes they were making it. I walked out of there with my order within 10 minutes and the guy said it was going to be 15 when I walked in and ordered. I have not found a Great sushi place in this area so I was really surprised when I saw how nice the restaurant is and how great the food really is. I will definitely be going back. I am actually planning on ordering some this weekend and driving 20 minutes to pick it up.

Loved this little sushi restaurant. The fish was fresh and delicious. Very reasonable prices. They have non sushi options as well. My smallest kid doesn’t eat sushi and he got a very impressive order of chicken nuggets are fries.

I ordered the salmon avocado and spicy tuna rolls for pickup. Their packaging was so cute with the little fake grass divider. DI wish I had taken pics but it was so good. I was really craving sushi and it was worth the 50 minute drive. The rolls were a little smaller than I’m used to but the taste made up for it. The lady at the counter was very nice. I tipped 10% only because I had never been before and I didn’t know how it was going to be but will definitely tip better next time!

We really enjoyed our sushi. Very fresh. The flavors were fantastic. Delivery driver was kind and our order was correct with an added treat, as it was an hour for delivery. This was explained when we placed our order. We will definitely make this a regular choice. We're so excited to find such amazing sushi in our new community.

This is the best place to get sushi in Watertown. They take great care when handling your food. Its all very clean ✨ When I accidentally ordered the wrong type of roll, they called me to confirm it (I'm a regular so they probably remembered me.) If you're feeling adventurous, I recommend trying something with eel. Its very good. Their delivery service is also amazing if you need to have it delivered.

The sushi was great. I ate here with my friends today. It is a quaint, peaceful place. I ordered two of the basic salmon rolls. They were excellent. We tried to introduce some of our other friends to sushi, so it was fun.

Very good sushi for a fair price. Love that I can easily order online and have it delivered, and as someone who works late and wants something moderately healthy when they get off at night, Sushi Express is my savior. Always satisfied, fish always tastes very fresh.

Nice! I went here last Saturday for lunch. I had the maki lunch special, so I got the miso soup, the shrimp tempura roll, and sweet potato roll, and bottled water to drink. It cost me about $26. The wait wasn't too bad, and the interior was clean and stylish. My soup was good, and when I got my sushi, it was divine! I will say that the lady who was taking my order and serving me felt she was a bit short with me. Like I needed to hurry up, I wasn't treated badly at all, but it was something I felt. She did, however, treat a mom and child who came in after me very nicely, though, so it must've been an off moment? I finished my food and paid with my card. Overall, my time was very nice! I love sushi, and this is a very nice place to get some.

Second time my family came here. The service is so friendly and will help you if you have no idea what you are talking about. Atmosphere is calm and very clean, the bathrooms are one person bathroom and away from dining to have comfort. The food is so good, everything is done well, clean, and chopsticks are optional. They have forks and spoons. Overall amazing and will come more often!

New to the area and needed a good sushi fix. The wife and I treated ourselves to a number of different rolls. They were made fresh to order, which you could taste and we were pleased about. I’ll still be looking to try other places being new to the area but I feel comfortable coming back and trying more of the selection and would recommend trying some rolls yourself.

Best Japanese food in Watertown! They have plenty of sushi, entrees, and hibachi dishes to choose from. Great, fresh quality sushi and for half the price of their competitor down the street! The owners work late hours and are always so nice. We have been eating here regularly for the past two years and always had a great experience. Totally underrated place.

Compared to other restaurants they are super fair prices as well. Their crab rangoons are the best in town, if you ask me. I have tried almost all their sushi rolls - amazing. All of them! The sushi at this restaurant was really good. The restaurant was empty, I would consider this place a hidden gem. Only thing I didn't like was they didn't have fountain drinks, or alcohol.

Overall great sushi. We went in and ordered to go. We had the seaweed kani salad, jalapeno special roll, crunch crab roll, scallop/shrimp dinner hibachi entree, and 3pc ea of yellowtail and salmon sashimi. Altogether $53. My dad is a sushi/sashimi fanatic and he thought the quality of fish was fresh and better/comparable to NYC sushi spots. I thought it was tasty for a standard price. The side salad for the dinner entree was very fresh. Definitely recommend ordering from here ($10 min/$20 for fort drum). As for the actual restaurant, it's spacious and clean. (Sorry no pics, we ate it all up!!)

Stopped in for dinner with my wife. Wish they had a few more drinks to choose from. I had the Fire House roll and it was quite delicious. Wife had the Beauty & The Beast roll, I wasn't a huge fan but she loved it. We ordered some shumai and the crab salad was probably the best one that I've had at a sushi restaurant in a very long time. So glad they deliver to Calcium because now we can be lazy and just order for delivery!

We drove from Potsdam down to Watertown and had a date night. Toward the end of date night we decided to have Sushi. We stopped here. It was later at night but they were welcoming. I love sushi and have been to fairly bad sushi places in my time, trust me you don't want bad sushi, does not end well. We ordered sushi for two. Here the sushi was wonderful, salmon was nicely marbled and the tuna and white tuna didn't have that fishy smell. The octopus was not overly chewy the eel was cooked wonderful. The miso soup was nice and light while their ginger dressing was a little sweeter than I was used to but complemented their salad well. We also ordered the veggie fried rice and I thought that their vegetables were not soggy but cooked well. They do not serve beer or sake. Over all I had a wonderful time and the server was attentive but not overly so. :) We left full and happy.

Great sushi with so many options, good quality its a shame they are only take out/delivery right now but they do it well I've gotten pick up and delivery never had a problem. Seaweed salad and a roll hits the spot after a long week. Unfortunately I was not a fan of their teriyaki chicken so sticking to whats in the name for the future, its a must try for the area

Ordered over phone after looking at website. Lots of lunch options. Coworker and I had filling lunch for less than$20.00. Food was good, nice presentation.

I usally order online with them for delivery I was called Sunday night they only hand one driver and they were headed to Fort Drum. Called and asked if I would pick up within minutes of placing the order. Not a problem. I had never been in the restaurant. It is clean and the employees were all rushing about getting orders ready. I was apologized multiple times for not having delivery, but they wanted to call or I could have been waiting a long time. I really appreciate the extra service, most places wouldn't have cared and just delivered cold food an hour later. Food is always good and warm when being delivered. They are super quick too. Good food and quality customer service. 4 stars!

I love this place!! I'm not a spicy food person much but once I start eating a Godzilla roll with extra crab on top I can not stop even when my face is sweating and mouth on fire lol ... It is a bit expensive as a special treat (someone's birthday etc) it's a great time

Ordered from Sushi Express for the first time today… My overall impression was “satisfactory”.The spicy calamari was overdone which resulted in overly crispy outsides that hurt when you took a bite (ouch) and was too chewy on the inside, although it tasted great. The dumplings I ordered fried and were also over done, almost to the point of being burnt. The dipping sauce that came with was delicious and paired nicely with them. The sushi rolls how-ever were so so so good. Everything was extremely fresh and you can tell. I had to keep putting the lid on to refrain from eating them all in one go lol. The rolls honestly are what gave it a 4/5 review even though my other items were just alright. I’ll just have to give them another go and order different sides.

Their online ordering is not efficient. I ordered food at 1130 for a pick up at 1200. 1215 I’m just now getting my food. Food is good but service is hit or miss.

I am just wondering why they offer delivery and then ask if you can come and pick it up??? If I could I would not ask for delivery!!! Their food is great...not so great with customer service

Sushi express serves average sushi with sub-par service. We were the only table siting in the restaurant on a Friday night and it still took them 10 minutes to get our drink orders. After we finished eating the waitress dropped off our check and forgot that we were there. After waiting forever we just gave our money to the take-out counter and left.

As a sushi lover and a first time visitor to the Watertown area, I figured I had to stop in and see what options I had in a small town. The sushi was ok but not the greatest I’ve had. I also ordered teriyaki which was good but not the greatest I have ever had. The women working the front desk didn’t seem that friendly and she had her kids serve me which I thought was a bit odd....

Ordered through Doordash, but the Doordarsh guy actually tried to help get us our full order but they said that we didn't order as much as the app said we did. So I called them and they say "oh we forgot, sorry can you send the Doordarsh guy back?" Then I eat my food and it's not even that good. Except for the dumpling and the yum yum sauce but the rest of my food was eh.

Great food! Chef was welcoming and friendly. The lady was extremely rude and kept sighing every time she came to visit the table and rolled her eyes several times when I asked for a refill.

Food was alright but the roll size is about as round as a quarter and mainly filled with avocado and very little meat. Price would be fine if portions were bigger. Cannot at the moment recommend. One picture is California roll and other is eel with avocado which you can see there is barely any eel. Will try again in a few months.

Ordered some shrimp tempura as I was about to eat it I noticed the shrimp was not devein once I realized the shrimp was not cleaned we coudnt eat the rest of our sushi. Was a disappointment, cannot trust they properly clean everything else they serve their customers.

Food was undercooked. Felt like I was eating slices of undercooked fats, they called it 'chicken' 2 thumbs down. Yuk. Egg rolls were also undercooked. It's friend food, and still undercooked? Alert the health department.

I was very dissatisfied. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they make the sushi fresh. All I asked for was no avocado. She told me she couldn't do that and offered me something else, even though I was clear with what I wanted. All I asked was for them to omit the avocado.

we usually dont have a problem with this company their food is good but today we made an order for delivery and when we got the order they messed it up we called to get it corrected and the lady refused to fix the order saying we made a mistake not her and we repeated the order back to her when we ordered and she repeated it back to us correctly. we kept trying to explain they made a mistake and the lady gave me attitude and started yelling at me such rude people! im no longer ordering from this place after this experience. thry made a mistake nd instead of fixing it they yell at you and argue with you saying your wrong and they are right. absolutely rediculous.

Horrible. Ordered online which they called to confirm. Then told me it would be an hour. I said please cancel. She asked me 3 other times, and I said yes for the 4th time. Cancel my order. She hung up on me, and then called me back to ask if I wanted to cancel. Makes no sense.

I eat there yesterday, Fish is not fresh, I could not eat the Salmon, it looked and felt slime. I spent last night throwing up. I should have followed my instinct when I got there.

If you dont get food poisoning, you will get ripped off! The owners lie and have bad attitudes with there customers. I said I'd never go again afterward getting yelled at by the lady when I questioned her about my order not being the same as what is on the menu. But I gave it another shot and I regret it fully. My friend got very sick for 2 days from food poisoning and they once again overcharged me and didn't give me what I ordered. Then they magically cant speak English and get very hostile when you tell them your issue with there bad business. I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant so you don't find yourself ad upset as I am. What a joke.

The few times I’ve walked in to this restaurant, I’ve gotten a bad attitude from the lady at the desk. She told me when I placed my order over the phone that I said I was paying cash. I said I didn’t and she insisted I did say that. I told her I never have cash. And she said card is a $10 minimum. Which she never stated before. She ruins the whole experience at this place but food is good.

They leave out items in their rolls but charge you the same price. So don't trust their menu. Also have been yelled at when I asked for my salad that comes with my meal, the lady told me it doesn't come with one and when I showed her the menu to her, 5 minutes later she comes and throws a salad on the table. If you order anything with tobiko on it from their menu, just know they don't carry it anymore. They really need to work on getting a new one printed out and their customer service. Avocado 9 out of 10 times going to be over ripe and brown. Very disappointed and will never go back after eating here at least 50 times in the past 5 years. (Always thought it was a good bang for my buck) It gets worse and worse everytime. If you people think is a good sushi joint I feel bad that you've never tried anything better.

Used to be my favorite spot to get sushi. However the customer service lately is terrible. A 2 hour wait for two rolls and fried rice is ridiculous. Anytime I order a soda it is forgotten. Will definitely not order or recommend to friends again.

I'm thinking area is not a good place for sushi. This place was not good at all. The taste, and combination of my sushi rolls were not good. One of my rolls Taste was very fish. We spent 70 dollars on chicken Undon noodles, sea dragon roll, Fuji roll and Santa Barbara roll it was a total waste. The udon noddles tasted fermented and have a very strange taste. Maybe the food was old and then heated up. Either way myself, husband or children did not enjoy the food which is not like us as we have eaten all types of food and can give many dishes the benefit of the doubt. I feel cheated out of my money because the food was just that bad. I am pregrant and really didn't have the energy to go back up there (I live 20 mins away) to give them this terrible food back and ask for a refund. But instead, I want to warn others and hope someone read this.

We ordered 5 meals to go, it was terrible, the scallops were the size of a dime, they tasted very old and fishy. Steak was nasty dry and the rice was very dry as well, what a waste of money, never again. Threw everything out and had to get food from another place. Dept of health should pay a visit.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews for local businesses but after getting sick the last two times I ate here, I decided to leave a review. This place was a relative staple for my husband and I for take out and delivery. However, over the last few months, I feel like their food quality has declined. The last two times we have gotten delivery, we’ve gotten sick within a few hours of consuming the food. We won’t be ordering food here again.
