food was fantastic, love the spontaneity of a daily changing menu. pickle plate was on the sweeter, denser side, i personally prefer a softer more tart pickle. beef tartare was finely ground with aromatic flavor, yum. mushroom toast was immaculate, black garlic jus with the steak was my favorite part of the meal. absolutely a must. ryan was so kind and insightful, we'll be back! thank you for a great meal :)
Love PinPoint and it is the go to for date night. Service is always fantastic and waiters are knowledgeable, providing the best recommendations. Always fresh, seasonable ingredients and the menu is constantly changing to highlight the local catch. I cannot recommend it enough!,
Went here last night for the first time and was so impressed. Was greeted promptly and directed to our seats. The knowledge of the Menu that Mark showed, the belief in the product, and the stellar service throughout did not go unnoticed. The food was the best food I’ve had in a very long time. Hats off to the staff and chef!
Incredible food. Everything was good, and I'm not being hyperbolic. The housemade pickles were great, oysters were incredible, and the entrees were interesting. Drinks were just okay, but they have a big menu so there's lots of options to choose from and customize. The service was amazing. I spent an anniversary dinner here, and it was perfect for the occasion. Would absolutely come back again.
Fantastic experience. The owner was wonderful, atmosphere was perfect, and service was wonderful. After excellent drinks, we went with the waiter's ( Devin) suggestions. Looking forward to trying everything, but will need to get those delicious drinks and Shrimp appetizer and raw oysters again soon!!!
I live out of town and found myself here twice in one month. SO good. The service was right on, super friendly. All I can say is, the tomato salad, summer squash, pickle plate, fried fish, beef tartar, lobster ceviche, cookie butter ice cream, candy car dessert, and the blonde brownie were simply fantastic.
Jeff, Cam, and the entire team at PinPoint are so friendly and accommodating! They just hosted our rehearsal dinner and welcome party for our wedding weekend and every detail was perfect. From helping us curate a timeline and menu, to flawlessly executing an amazing meal with wonderful service for all our guests, everything turned out better than we could have imagined! I highly recommend PinPoint for a perfect date night or any events.
Absolutely amazing! One of the best restaurants in Wilmington. From the time we walked in and were greeted by the host, until the time we left, every moment was perfect. Our server Mike was not only knowledgeable about the menu, but he knew the perfect cocktail pairings. Someone who I assume was the manager was very welcoming and friendly, he socialized with us every time he passed our table. The food was out of this world. I truly can't say enough about this beyond awesome experience.
I had dinner at Pinpoint on Tues, April 4, 2023. As a solo traveler, I tend to eat dinner early and sit at the bar. This restaurant opened at 5:30, but I arrived a little early (5:20) and the hostess said I could sit at the bar, no problem. The bartender (Hillary) was excellent! She was not that busy during my visit, so we chatted about a bunch of different things. She gave me some recommendations and the chef also provided a substitution for me because my stomach does not like cauliflower. :\ I had the Garlic Lemon Hummus and Pan Seared Local Mahi. Both were excellent. I walked away with leftovers of each and put them in reusable ziploc bags in my hotel fridge. The leftovers were still excellent the next night when I got home. The restaurant is very spacious and the tables are not crowded together. There is really nice artwork (also for sale) around the restaurant. There are also items with history (related to the owner I think) in the back of the main room. Pretty neat stuff. Definitely put this on your list if you like a quiet meal with excellent offerings (menu changes nightly) and superb service!
Pinpoint Restaurant you set the bar very high! From the genuinely warm welcome by the hostess, the kind professionalism and attentiveness of Ryan - who gave us lovely glasses of sparkling wine after seating us, the thoughtfully curated and carefully crafted menu offerings, this was the epitome of true dining at its best. We (my daughter) and I enjoyed cozy cocktails- I had the Fall Classic -delicious! Russell’s Reserve 9 year private label, Apple, pear, honey, ginger, thyme on the rocks. My daughter had the Cardamom Manhattan, also very good. Starting with the delectable Stump Sound Roses raw oysters, moving onto the Butternut Panna Cotta plate, house homemade bread with a beautiful crumb, then diving into the most amazing Springer Mtn. Fried Chicken dinner, our taste buds were tantalized! We capped off this experience with Chocolate Stout Cake and a side scoop of s’mores ice cream. In all, this was a wonderfully memorable experience! Thank you Pinpoint Restaurant!
This was absolutely a great experience from the moment we walked in until we left the restaurant. We were walking around on Friday evening and decided to go into this restaurant that we have heard about from several people. The restaurant had a nice crowd but there were several tables open. We approached the Hostess station and was greeted by "Brook". She had a welcoming smile and immediately made you feel welcomed at the restaurant. We had hesitation in our voices when we asked if there was an open table for 4 people. She said that would not be a problem and escorted us to a nice table. "Brook" also told us what were her favorite things on the menu when we asked her. She made us feel right at home. Shortly after, our server "Nicky" greeted us at the table and let us know that she would be taking care of us. She asked us if we have ever been to the restaurant before and then explained that this is a farm to table restaurant. So everything is locally grown or from the nearby area. The menu changes daily depending on what is available and that after we look over the menu that she would answer any questions that we may have. "Nicky's" service was amazing and as you can see from the posted pictures the dinner deserved every one of the 5 stars that I awarded. The fish was fresh and prepared excellently. There was nothing left on anyone's plate when the meal was over. Before I end, I must talk a little about the drinks we were served. The bartenders create a drink menu with very creative and tempting drinks that you would not find in other places. We enjoyed them and felt it enhanced our visit to this restaurant. If you are only looking for a cocktail this is a good place to stop in and try something new. I must say that if you are looking to have a special meal then you are looking at the right restaurant. The service is top shelf, the meals are prepared and plated with care and the cocktails are outstanding. You can tell that this place takes pride in what they do and how the restaurant looks. You absolutely cannot go wrong with a visit to Pinpoint.
Amazingly friendly and accommodating staff. Food is thoughtfully prepared with some interesting flourishes that don't disappoint.
It’s always an amazing experience when we go to Pinpoint. I have no complaints! My husband and I love Pinpoint. We love the farm to table concept. I had the grouper and he had the mahi. I love an oyster Rockefeller every time I come here they have a different spin of it. And love every time we come there’s something different on the menu. My husband literally said the food is amazing like 10+ times! We will be back.
I had an incredible dining experience tonight! The meal was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. The hosts were incredibly friendly and seated me at the bar effortlessly. The bartenders were a fantastic team, working seamlessly together. I had the pleasure of being taken care of by one of the new bartenders, and she did an outstanding job. The wine I had with my steak was the perfect pairing, and the espresso martini I enjoyed for dessert was simply divine!
Everything was excellent- cocktails, entrees, dessert, service. I've never had such tender pork tenderloin in my life and the greens, okra, peppers, and sauce it came with were perfection. Hubs loved his steak frites. I ended up taking multiple sips of his cocktail even tho I'm not a bourbon or pumpkin spice fan. We lived in NYC for several years and we felt like we had been transported back to the city. Can't wait to dine here again!
My wife and I wanted something new downtown. We decided to try Pinpoint and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, but the staff is amazing. From the time we were greeted by the hostess until we finished desert, the experience was truly exceptional. Well done by everyone on the team here and we’ll definitely return again soon.
A friend suggested we go for 1/2 price apps.. Its a daily menu with some changes each day... 5-7 Tuesday-Friday I think... We sat at the bar, even though neither of us drink booze, and the bartender was very courteous and made a mocktail for my friend... The manager was equally friendly 👍They served housemade Sourdough & butter... I had the Roasted Pumpkin Salad which was DEEEELISH, Pimento Cheese Dip with Crostini, and the Chorizo with Blistered Peppers 🌶 The chorizo was a little crispy for my liking, but DEELISH and I ate it all 😉 Be prepared that the Dip is served cold, but still very yummy... We shared the Bread Pudding for dessert 😋 A bunch of things on the menu I'd still like to try. I'll be back 😃
This is a strange review. Why? The overall rating is higher than the individual segment. Why? The beef tartare! The STAR of the night. The lemon puree brightened the dish and married the flavors of the pickled fennel, black garlic aioli, capers, and smoked trout roe. The beet tartare was also a treat. The candied pecans played well with dill sour cream and apple vinaigrette the mustard and capers brought a briny flavor that leveled out the sweet notes, but the smoked goat cheese brought them all together. The oysters were interesting, with vodka sauce parmesan bread crumb. The Blackened Shrimp & Grit Grits lead creamy stone ground grits. The seared greens tasted as though they were blanched before they were seared. The ratio of celery root and sunchokes to shrimp was more on the veggies side. I ordered a side of black eyed peas and collards. The collards were cooked well. I like a more vinegary collard. There was a sweetness that looked to level off the vinegar taste. The sweet was a little much for me. The black eyed peas were fresh and bright. I like mine cooked a little longer, but you could taste the farm to table on these. The sides came out at the end of completing my entree, which was not ideal. The server seemed nervous at the beginning of the service. Warmed up towards the middle and got swamped with tables at the end of our service. My wife had the pork chop, i didn’t try it. I knew better. She didn’t offer like she usually does🤣 The seating was tighter than my liking, but the parties closest were very considerate, we all keep or volume down.
When another restaurant screwed up your reservation that we had made one month earlier we gave Pinpoint a call and they were happy to have our 6 guest group arrive at the last minute. The “Shares and Apps” specifically Pickle Plate and Pimento Cheese Dip were both very good, but hardly enough for six people to even get a spoon full! The Pickle Plate was actually a variety of pickled vegetables cut into very small pieces. Tasty but meager. The Pimento cheese was great, but about the size of an ice cream scoop. For the “Mains” the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Pumpkin Curry and Pan seared Grouper Cioppino were all delicious with nice portions. The raw oysters were fresh and tasty, but I like saltine crackers with oysters and they were not available. Colton, our waiter, was very attentive, informative and nice. Don’t forget that all parties larger than 4 are considered “Large Party” and a 20% fee is added to the bill. Ours was $94.20. I missed that and gave him $130! He saw the signed receipt before we left and never mentioned it!! Ouch!!
The food isn’t worth the price tag. The steak was tough even though it was cooked properly and it came already sliced. The grouper didn’t taste the freshest and the dish itself lacked in flavor. The service was excellent and they do make a great martini and we enjoyed the cheesecake.
