Nice place for a BBQ lunch. Had the 1/2 rack - nice bark, great smokey flavor, and the bones pulled out clean (I like more if a pull but didn't waste a bite!). Slaw was tasty and the fried okra nice and crunchy. The sauces provided were both well made but I leaned toward the spicey (very yummy). Reasonable price; nice family atmosphere. Looking forward to the next visit - brisket next! 😁
Ordered for an open house. Everyone LOVED the food. Delivery was easy. Highly recommend! Best brisket!
Fantastic catering experience! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The brisket egg rolls were absolutely incredible and a guest favorite. Everything was handled so well — highly recommend for any catered event!
Great menu, good prices, easygoing atmosphere you'd expect at a local hometown BBQ joint. Always enjoy eating here even if I end up having to loosen my belt a little. That's on me tho, I can't pass up those habanero jelly bbq egg rolls.
The food was excellent and full of flavor. You can tell everything is made with care. The service was just as impressive, friendly, attentive, and efficient. Overall, a great experience from start to finish.
We tried out this little gem today and were absolutely not disappointed. They were celebrating their 7th anniversary with a buffet, which meant we got to sample a little bit of everything—and every single bite was delicious. My favorite by far was the brisket lasagna. Hands down the best lasagna I’ve ever had, and it’s only served on Friday nights. If you love BBQ, skip the big-name spots and make the trip to downtown Wylie instead. Bold BBQ Pit will not disappoint.
i had the pleasure of trying some delicious BBQ a few days ago, the mac and cheese was one of my favorites! the brisket egg roll was a fantastic addition, i didn’t know it was a thing and was pleasantly surprised! high quality sauces and queso, and excellent customer service. definitely recommend!
Wow, I love great BBQ & this place had great brisket filled egg rolls. I did not have time for a big meal and ordered this appetizer! It did not disappoint! I will be going back soon to get a plate!
Food is delicious and they have daily specials that make it very affordable for a family compared to most BBQ joints. Your classic meals as well as really creative options too. Plenty of variety for everyone!
Great BBQ ... all the time! It's an excellent family-owned BBQ restaurant located in downtown Wylie! There's always a welcome hello at the door, and they are happy to answer your questions. Be sure and check out their daily "specials" (posted), enticing you to try something NEW! It's not fancy inside, but it is clean, nostalgic, welcoming, and a little Texas for sure. It's a great place to pop in for lunch or even takeout for a party of any size! Our family LOVED it! The food is fresh, and served HOT! This time, we stopped in for lunch: the lean BBQ Brisket, potato salad, smoked beans, and THE BEST OKRA I've had in years! They don't make the okra ahead (like many places do), where it comes out soggy, they serve it fresh, crispy, and oh so good! It was ALL so delicious! There's a little condiment bar (serve yourself), and they bring your order to you. #Fresh #CookedJustRight #DownhomeAtmosphere #FamilyOwned #BestBBQ BOLD BBQ ... Getcha some! You will not be disappointed!!
Recently catered a memorial for our family. The owner went over and beyond on the food. It was delivered and set up in a timely fashion. Everything had its own unique savory taste. The spicy bbq sauce is 10/10 strongly recommended. We will be having them cater our next family event.
Wish i could show pictures but it was too good. All gone in a flash. 2 meat plate (sliced brisket) with green beans and smoked beans. Checked every box I care about. Beautiful smoke ring and smoky flavor. Pull apart excellent. I ordered the lean but usually prefer less lean cut. My choice. We also got a chopped baby Barbecue sandwich with the alternative sauce (not home made). One of us prefers the Bold barbecue sauce and the other prefers the alternative sauce. Anyway the sandwich was delicious. Highlight was the banana pudding desert. OMG! Like Grandmas. I’m a big fan. **** RECOMMENDED ****
Random BBQ place today. For a bbq joint in an older downtown square, I was super surprised the staff was very friendly. Daniel is a 5 Star Cashier. His personality and welcoming vibe will change your day. I ordered the Stuffed Spud with Brisket and all the fixings, the beans were new to me on a potato. The moist brisket was flavorful. Generous portions. You wont find the traditional fountain drinks here, they tasted pretty good. I went with traditional tea, instead. Great food, smiling staff, and really clean. The wood tables were not filmy or sticky. All the tables had a full roll of paper towels. The bbq sauce bottles on the tables were not gunky and pretty full. I’ll be back for sure!
Great new place to take the family! The staff is friendly and welcoming. The BBQ brisket had great flavor, little fat, was moist. My oldest daughter got the ribs and she loved them. My wife got the dual meat sausage with Turkey. The sausage was great and the Turkey flavorable. I had the bbq beans with mac and all were on point. I had to go back and get the cobbler, asked for extra crust and they took care of me. All in all the food had great flavor the blue cheese was a pleasant surprise in the coleslaw but added a nice sharp taste. I fed my entire family for a little over 30.00 so price is very reasonable. New business and a great add to our rotation! We will definitely be back, SOON!
A new down home place to eat for Wylie. Really great BBQ. The sides are just as good. The onion rings and the okra are some of the best I have ever had. You can find a table to eat by yourself or look for a table and ask if you can sit in during dinner. It's new and modern but has a feel of small town USA dining. It's the kind of a restaurant that after you eat here you can't wait to bring friends and family so they can experience it. Ok so an update they also have a grilled cheese sandwich. It is on a Texas toast with onions, meat and cheese. It taste incredible with or without sauce!
I am extremely satisfied and happy about coming here to try their BBQ. Great value for the exceptional food. Hard to leave hungry. I got the brisket, sausage, and ribs. The brisket was lean, yet not dry. The sausage was smokey and had a good spice flavor. The ribs were tender, good meaty chew, and fell off the bone, but not overcooked. For me, my favorite item was the potato salad. Chunky and a little creamy without too much tartness. Also had bacon bits for the win. Sweet potato tater tots were spot on and not greasy. I forgot to get my 3rd side but I wouldn't of been able to finish it. I'll be coming back with company in tow!
Food was delicious. But to go more in depth the bbq beans are sweet and have a barbqq flavor but the pepper flavor over took the rest of the bean flavor, the mac n cheese was good and really cheesy. I think the brisket was pretty good and so was the jalapeno cheese sausage, that was delicous. We got a discount for it being tuesday and recieving meat plates. The place was nice and quiet. Over all i would rate it a 7 out of 10
We were invited here by friends for the live music. Brad and Kathie performed. They did a great job. Her voice is lovely! It's a bbq joint, but we are pescatarian, so we had the fried catfish basket and the baked potato with only butter and chives. Everything was good. Their BBQ sauce seemed to be homemade, and it was really good. The staff was really friendly and the service was excellent.
The bbq is okay but they lack in sides. They’re bland and lacking flavor. The staff is courteous and the vibe is there. Just wish the food was better
My husband and I visited tonight. I ordered the Texas bold fries with brisket and he ordered a two meat plate. When the food came out, I received a spud with brisket and chives and sour cream. I let the server know I had ordered the Texas bold fries and she immediately took the spud back and was apologetic. She brought out the Texas fries, however, they had either turkey or chicken on them. I did see they were very busy and a bit overwhelmed. We have been before and received good service. I was just a bit disappointed this time. My husband returned the food. We did not request a refund, though they did offer to remake the dish again. My husband’s brisket and Mac and cheese were very good.
I can only speak on the food I had. I ordered a 3 meat plate with turkey, chicken, smoked sausage, green beans and mac n cheese for the sides. The chicken was juicy and amazing, the turkey was super dry, the sausage was pretty much what you'd expect. The green beans tasted like they were right out of a can and lacked flavor, the Mac n cheese was right on point, very creamy and flavorful. I added 6 of the smoked wings and an interesting side they had, blue cheese slaw. The wings, I was told were smoked then deep fried. Maybe just smoke them and don't deep fry? They were extremely dry. The blue cheese slaw was interesting, I'm not sure what I expected but I think if you're a blue cheese fan I'd definitely give it a shot. My niece had the loaded baked potato with brisket and she seemed to enjoy it. The boys had kids meals, one had chicken fingers and the other sliders both had fries. I did snag a couple fries when plating their lunch and they were pretty awful, extremely chewy. The sauce was interesting, it wasn't to any of our liking but that doesn't mean it was bad just not our preference.
I was pretty disappointed in the food here which is a true shame because the atmosphere was great. The place is cozy and has a really cool superhero scavenger hunt for kids to do around the building. Staff was super friendly and the place was very clean. For the food I got sliced brisket with potato salad and coleslaw. The soda fountain has some local company soda which is cool but most of the flavors were not very good. Cream soda was great. The brisket was top notch meat but that was the only part of the meal that I enjoyed. The BBQ sauce is very smokey to the point of being bitter. The coleslaw was dry enough to be closer to a salad than coleslaw and the potato salad was very bland. This place runs a good business but the food was just not my cup of tea.
I came in for lunch and it was definitely not the most inviting atmosphere. I ordered salad with smoked turkey. The turkey tasted like starting fluid and there wasn't much meat on it. The lettuce was wilted and undesirable. This was the biggest waste of time and money. I would not recommend this place to my enemy.
Ordered: ($80+tip) 2 meats ala carte. 1# Brisket/ 1/2# Smoked Bologna, Lg potatoe salad, Lg green beans and 1 individual banana pudding and a brownie, to go. We got home, and our 1/2# bologna was 2 slices, and the 1# of brisket flet light. I got out my food scale and both meats were not the amount I had ordered. Bologna weighted 6oz (1/2# should have been 8), and brisket weighed scant and was mostly fat. I messages them on Facebook and got the response of 2 "thumbs up." Then later, I got a response. Something was mentioned that if I didn't think I got what I paid for, they would give me some more meat. (I dont know really what that means, so I just walk in and say Im supposed to get meat?) I responded to that message and told them I had photos, of they needed to see them. I've had no further response, as of this posting. *although it was the weekend. The food: Potato salad was really good. Smoked Blogona was good. Green Beans are out of a can and have no flavor, you could see a LOT of pepper, but they just taste like canned green beans. Brisket was too Fatty, with a thick fat cap & very "marlbed", some parts were uneatable, a bit grisly. Banana pudding and brownie were ok. I think you should get what you pay for, and I do not feel that the establishment felt the same. *we had informed them of a dietary (gluten) allergy as well and requested the Gluten Free sauce (of course), but were given our regular sauce inside a box of bread along with. (While I understand they are noy a gluten free kitchen, it is important to know care is taken, if carenis taken with an allergy, then it is likely care is taken in other areas, cleaniness, attention to freshness, ect).
