Amazing, simply amazing. Edit: Alright I'm editing my review, after the 3rd time eating in and 1 takeout, I'm giving 10 out of 5 Stars. 3 different waitress that were ON POINT all 3 times we went. The food is sooooo good. I wish I knew their names so I could shout 'em out. As for the take out, the food of course hasn't changed from amazing, but even the containers are so well thought out.

My father and I came for international pancake 🥞 day and expected a crowd, but thru the bustle we were greeted by Jacob, an intentional, timely, great spirited server who I can honestly say, made our whole day! Everything that came to our table included a warm smile and prompt response, our food was hot and to order, our cups never ran empty, he anticipated needs and was immaculate at his trade, I hope every server I experience has the magic ✨ Jacob does. 10/10 experience would definitely return again. If you’re ever in the Abilene area and are looking for a yummy breakfast w great service, come by IHOP and ask for Jacob

We ate at IHOP and had Jacob (with whom I share a name!) for our server. He was attentive to our needs, anticipating what we wanted before we even asked! The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The atmosphere was conducive to a great meal. We will definitely return.

Place was packed tonight but still i got a table and my food pretty quickly which is always a plus Got the steak tips and they were just perfect. My compliments to the chef. Staff was attentive all around. Will come back

I came from out of town visiting some family down here. After the bar we got hungry so we went to the house of pancakes for some hot jacks. Our server kaihdee was extremely sweet! She was attentive and made sure our drinks were never empty. Our food came out in a timely matter for how busy it was. The food was hot when she served it to us and she made sure everything looked good before she left. Which many servers just drop the plates and leave... I will say next time I go back to visit I will definitely be asking for that sweet girl.

I typically avoid IHOP due to having many bad experiences there. However, last night I ended up there and had someone by the name of Destiny I believe, take care of me. She was absolutely amazing and changed my whole perspective about IHOP. Thank you to Destiny for amazing service and I will be coming back soon.

Our family came to have breakfast today after receiving some bad news. Our server, Dani, noticed the kids were sad on Halloween and she was so kind and friendly in an attempt to cheer them up. I spoke to her privately and let her know what was going on and she and the entire team responded with overwhelming kindness. They all continued to do their jobs well and we received exceptional service and the food was great, too. But the ways they cared for our family was a great reminder that so many times, employees go above and beyond their typical duties to make a difficult day a little bit easier. We will be back again and again for no other reason than that Dani and the entire staff know how to treat people well.

While IHOP isn't my first choice (let's face it. I'm from the south. It's ALWAYS waffle house lol), the experience, the food, and the service was phenomenal here. Their waitresses are very kind and friendly. They were always busy, cleaning up, taking orders, offering refills, as well as keeping the entire establishment clean. Everyone was SUPER friendly!! This place is doing AMAZING in customer service!

Went in for my birthday breakfast and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by Cedric. He was very sweet and attentive. Our waitress was Tracy and she was also very sweet and attentive. Best service I’ve had at a restaurant in a while. The staff is very friendly and I give credit when due. We will definitely return and hope to see them again when we do. Thank yall!

I've been there twice in the last couple of weeks hoping the first time wasn't the norm. I was there in tge evening both times. Maybe 8 tables the first time and only 4 tables were occupied this time. It took about 40 minutes to get my food. The kid waiting on me tonight was so disinterested in serving me as his only table, i watched the waitress for the other tables make her rounds 6 to 1 serving her tables. I had to ask her to bring me a refill. The food finally arrives with the bacon and hash browns are nasty brown tints like they were sitting in dirty grease. I have always favored ihop's pancakes because they've always been perfect! Soft and fluffy, but somewhat light. Not tonight. Not round, not fluffy, but crusty. I won't ever go back to that one again. Poor management, doesn't seem like making customers a priority is stressed.

Our waitress was super sweet, and apologetic about the wait, but it was not busy and it took over 40 minutes for our small order to come out. During those 40 minutes, I watched all the plates going out to customers get stacked on top of one another like this video... Granted, I know we chose IHOP to eat at, I'm not demanding a Michelin star level of quality, but.. Please stop doing this as a work flow. I have many videos of many different orders sitting like this, I'll only post this one since the workers faces are in the others. Please do better, IHOP. (And yep, we still ate our food.)

Breakfast: First plate of bacon, eggs, toast and hash browns was COLD. Sent back. Second plate was hot but the eggs were totally uncooked and watery all over the plate. Complained to the manager and left. The waitress did her job perfectly. None of this was her fault. March 8, 2026

Food is mediocre when you do finally get it. The cooks are so slow. They cook pancakes 1st before everything else, so they are cold by time you get them. It takes at least 30 minutes to get order on a slow day, dont attempted a busy one. They dont have enough help in waiters, and ones there cant remember all your oder. Have to flag them done for anything. Very poorly managed.

Trash Yuk Trash. I learned the hard way to double check my online carry out order before leaving for a 45 mile drive. I have ordered many early AM online to go orders with no problems from other locations. These guys put burnt caramel cinnamon on New York Cheesecake pancakes that normally have fresh strawberries. I got to work and called the Abilene IHOP to let them know my order was bad. I got a voicemail box and left a message. No one responded. I called back twice and various times over a week and continued to get voicemail box and never got a callback. My next attempt will be to walk in at lunch and see how much I can discourage people from spending their money at this IHOP. I’ve been to 30 plus IHOPs in 7 states while traveling for work and 2 were a huge disappointment and make me pause from trusting any IHOP.

I ordered 2x2 pancake combo, scrambled eggs, hash browns ,bacon and pancakes. I never did get scrambled eggs. I got hard fried eggs that were chopped up twice and then the manager tried got the same thing from her. Waitress was very nice. I took pictures of all three attempts. Manager never came to my table. Very disappointed that they couldn’t make a scrambled eggs.

30min wait for table, another 30min wait for food at table. Eggs extremely undercooked, entire plate of food swimming in liquid and cold. Another 20min waiting for replacement food, 2nd plates again had undercooked eggs swimming in liquid, cold meats, etc. Left the restaurant after 1.5 hours with no breakfast. The waitress tried her best... the horrible food and service came from the kitchen. McDonald's was a much better 2nd option.

We waited 45 minutes for our food. When we finally got it the food was cold. We will NEVER eat there again. They were a little busy but not enough to justify the wait or the quality of food. The manager was nice but not enough for us to ever go back. Location South Clack in Abilene.

Just stopped in for my son’s birthday. We asked for a table for a party of five, the hostess told my wife not today. We sat down next to a family that told us they had been waiting for over an hour. Two couples waiting in seating across from us got fed up and left. I looked into the dinning area and saw 6 booths cleaned with no one occupying. We decided to take our money elsewhere.

Sunday, August 24, 2024, 10:00am. Left at 10:35am. Received our drinks and orders taken almost immediately when seated. There were tables of 3-4 people seated around us who were seated when we arrived. They had not received food when we left. I commented to my husband early on that there were lots of waitstaff of duty and that was impressive. Unfortunately we never saw any food leave the kitchen the whole time. From where I was seated, I had direct site of the kitchen and all the pancakes and other food loaded across the counter. The staff went in and out of the kitchen and looked at the order tags and discussed them but no food moved. The father sitting with his family near us got up at one point to inquire about the food. The most upsetting part was a large disagreement between the waitstaff at the order stand about who was assigned to which area and why someone moved. This involved 6-7 people at different times and didn’t seem to resolve anything. One person appeared to be a manager or shift lead. The fact that so much food was lined up in the kitchen and never left and we had to get on our drive back to Fort Worth, we left without eating. We will give it a try on another trip to Abilene.
