Avis sur Flying Fish Addison
We visited this place for the first time and loved it so much we went back a few days later. First visit we tried the tilapia tacos which come with a pretty hefty bed of rice and beans. The sauce on the tilapia is light and refreshing. The ceviche was finger-licking good; spicy with robust flavors. My son had ordered the chicken fingers with fries. The fingers were a pretty good size. The kids meals come in a very cute boat and include a hush puppy. Second visit, I had to have the tilapia tacos again. They tasted just like the first time; rich in flavor. My son ordered the cheese burger w/ fries and also came with a hush puppy. The burger was also a good size (not small at all). They offer self-serve drinks which include lemonade, sweet/un-sweet tea, and the good ice!! Service was quick. The ambiance was interesting with a wall of Billy Bass Fish. Bring yours in and you will receive a catfish basket!! They also have a very nice patio and plenty of seating inside. We will be back again for sure.
This review is for the amazing staff working at this Flying Fish location. They’re always so kind and extremely talented. The food here is delicious, great quality and BIG portions. I’m a regular client and every time is always such a pleasant experience. From salmon to chicken everything is perfect. You can’t go wrong 10/10
What a wonderful, little cozy and delightful place for seafood! Fish are flying here. They've got all your favorite. And local favs too. We had the crab legs and shrimp boil, dozen raw half shell oysters and fried catfish jambalaya. Yes, I said catfish! Bring your tail here and and enjoy the atmosphere, with classic jazz kick'n on the speakers.
We are regular fans of this restaurant especially in Plano where we usually eat. Today we wanted a road trip so off to Dallas location. Much smaller than Plano location but food and service A-OK. Virus mitigation efforts in place so its a safe place to eat. We came hungry but left with plenty of leftovers which makes price per meal very good.
Excellent salmon tacos, fried okra, and seafood chowder. They have meat options, but I'm vegetarian. They have alot of side dishes and salads, so options for many preferences. Several locations. I ate at the one off of Market in the Design Destrict.
Very good food. Good atmosphere. Kinda old needs a updating. Very busy on weekends so be patient. Took a bit of a while to get our food. Parking is a problem on weekends because of several restaurants and a movie theater near by. Get there early to grab a spot. Reasonable priced restaurant. Will be back in the near future. Nice outdoor seating as well. Polite staff.
My best friend and I try to go to the Flying Fish once a month since it reminds us of where we grew up in Florida. When we do we either go to the one in Plano, near my home or in Coppel, sorta near her home. There was a coupon for the Addison location, which is closer to my friend, so we tried it. The food was good as usual, but the person who took our order at the counter was just not as personable as the people in Plano and Coppel. We just didn't get that warm and fuzzy feeling.
Cozy and cute spot for casual seafood dining. It has character. I love the many condiments at the table, fresh hot food served. We got oyster po boy. Deducted 1 star for, I thought they could have been a bit more generous with the oysters on po boy, but understand times are tough for businesses right now.
Im very disappointed in this, my girlfriend ordered from here with a good expectation for the food, yet for 11 dollars we get fish and shrimp that smell as if they were cooked in the same oil pieces of chicken that look like kids chicken tenders, hush puppies over cooked hard as rocks and fries that taste as if they were left under a heat lamp over night and seemed as if they gave you more fries than actual food you can see in the picture..... over all just very disappointing from this location, I been to one in Plano was way better, please do better.
My husband and I come here all the time the food is always great, and I like to switch things up now and then. However, the service could really use improvement. I came in on Friday, and the same cashier once again took a long time to come out and attend to us. We constantly have to wait, and many times we end up waiting much longer than we should. What’s frustrating is that she’s often just standing around or not paying attention to customers. I don’t like to complain, but as regulars, it’s disappointing to experience this repeatedly. I’m speaking up because I’m sure other customers have noticed the same issue it’s something management really needs to address.
This place was once upon a time a legit place. The fish doesn’t taste fresh. I brought over 10 people ordered over 10 dishes maybe one came out decent. The quality has gone way down. The lobster soup tasted like garbage. I think it had imitation lobster. I couldn’t take more than a couple of bites. Looking around on all the plates most are barely touched. It was such a disappointment eating here.
If you're looking for authentic cajun food I would not recommend. We went for lunch and set on the patio and that was probably the best part of our experience. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp po boy and I had 2lbs of crawfish and a cup of seafood gumbo. The shrimp was flattened and so heavily breaded that we thought it was catfish. They also put cocktail sauce on the sandwich and that was an unpleasant surprise. He didn't even finish half of it. The crawfish tasted dirty and underwhelming. I ordered spicy and there was no spice or flavor. The only thing we did enjoy was the gumbo but that alone is not enough for us to return. I would not recommend 😬
I came here because lent started and I’m looking for a good place to have fish during this time. The oyster poboy, was well seasoned and well cooked. The red fish was clearly cooked in old dirty oil, wasn’t seasoned, and the skin was left on which is fine for catfish and tilapia (and many others) but in this case was quite tough. Similarly disappointing, the fish in the fish sandwich did not taste seasoned . . . Even with salt. The fries weren’t thoroughly cooked and they forgot a part of our order. This experience was a bit of a let down but if I ever return I hope it is better.
The girl at the register with the black hair was rude and uninviting. Acted like she didn't even want us there. I was so turned off by her attitude my family and I turned and walked out without ordering. I'll never pay money to anyone to be disrespected. Maybe we'll try again when she no longer works there.
Flying Fish in Addison does alright with the fried catfish, shrimp, and gumbo. But the hush puppies? Absolutely terrible!! They tasted like they came out of old, nasty oil. I literally had to spit out the first bite. The rest of the food was fine, but when a place that fries everything can’t even get hush puppies right, that’s a big red flag for me.. I was close to giving it just one star, but the catfish and shrimp saved it from being a total loss. Can't imagine I will be back.
I went in to place an order today. The lady who was taking orders was sitting down as I came in. I received no greeting and her posture towards me was very rude once she got up. She turned from me, after not even speaking and laughed and spoke with someone in the kitchen, then turned to me in a dry nasty way. I place an order for a 3 piece catfish basket and asked for it to be fried hard. She says nothing but pit the order in. I went to pay with my phone because she set what looked like a device I could use tap with. She gave me another nasty look and said we only take cash or card. I’ll never return or patronize this place ever again. I actually work in the plaza by this place, and will make sure I don’t send anyone there after telling plenty of people who ask about catfish to go there. I do not like people who are nasty with people they’ve never met, and who’s done nothing at all to them.
