Really cool place, super busy you have to time it right!!! Best margherita around, chips are outstanding as well as the queso, salsa, and guacamole. We have tried almost everything on the menu!! My husband always gets the standard beef 🌮 tacos, which he claims are really the best around. I have tried the quesadillas, enchiladas, the tortilla soup which is served in a ginormous bowl. They have a super busy to-go business too. Definitely giving it an excellent review!! I forgot to take pictures of the food - woops - the margaritas are strong!!
This was one of the better if not best authentic Mexican restaurants I have ever been to and I've been to alot, our waiter Juan (no pun intended) was the best waiter with true customer service that hasn't been seen in awhile in my humble opinion not going to lie I tipped my man 20.00 off of his customer service alone even if the food would have been messed up places like these are worth my time and review because they got it right, we had the 3 MEAT CHOICE FAJITAS, steak, chicken and shrimp, none of it disappointed even up to the tortillas and margaritas overall this was a great decisions if more than 2 people be prepared to spend more than 50 dollars P.s. also look out for my food review channel coming
Everything was ABOVE my expectations. The chips and salsa Super fresh light, and delicious. Our waitress, ( name started with a T) Was very friendly and helpful with the menu items. ABSOLUTELY Loved the decor Best Margaritas 🍹 😋
This is my go to TexMex restaurant in Dallas with the absolute best margaritas. On the rocks or old school frozen, I haven’t found better ones in the DFW, and the “Mariano” is the flagship. It gets busy on the weekends and there is usually a wait, which is only an opportunity to start with a margarita before dinner. Parking could be better, but I’ve never had a terrible difficult time finding a spot. The chips and two types of salsa are fresh and delicious. The food is incredible. Nothing fancy, just good well prepared food. It’s 20 mins from my house and if I’m picking TexMex food I’m going here.
This place doesn't need another 5 star review but I have to do it. Epic food, margaritas, service, and decor. The chipotle salsa they bring is warm. Very unique. The margaritas have an interesting flower made out of the lime. Very unique. Lastly, thanks Hayden for your awesome service. I'll be back!!
The food was delicious. I had Mariano's Favorite, which was served hot and fresh. And the service from our server Angel was very good considering how busy it was. He kept water topped off and delivered on any requests fast. It's very loud between the music and people talking but not overbearing. I was able to keep a conversation with my friend.
Me and my wife first time here was great. The food was delicious and the drinks amazing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I can't wait to come back to try more and experience a great time.
Marianos is a great family restaurant! The tacos are delicious but I go mainly for the Marianos Margarita! Totally worth the purchase. Staff is welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is dim lighted relaxed vibe with nice background music and a nice little area outside to take some photographs.
The food is awesome! Perfect in every way: taste, presentation and great portions. The salsa is great (served warm fyi). I ordered the Queso Mariano for appetizer and it was wonderful! Although I ate it alone; the portion could easily feed 2+. For the entree, I ordered the Spicy Chicken Verde. The chicken breast was cooked and seasoned very well! The rice was good and so was everything else that came with it. The service from everyone that stopped by was exceptional. Definitely coming back for more.
We ordered from Mariano's for a lunch event at work. This is not the first time we've ordered from here but I'm always consistently surprised by how tasty their food is. Their service was great and everything I had, including dessert was delicious. I certainly plan to keep ordering or dining from here.
I really enjoyed this restaurant I went for a family member birthday party and the food was delicious. It took us a minute to be seated due to us being a large party plus other guest are enjoying their dining experience. If you are going peak dining hours be prepared for a wait no worries there is a bar to enjoy a drink or two
Ohhhh my!! The food here was absolutely amazing. My husband and I shared the blackened chicken taco plate and it was perfect. The chicken was seasoned and juicy, the guacamole and salsa had great flavors and the presentation was beautiful. We enjoyed our meal on the patio that was covered and ready for all seasons with fans, shades, screens and heaters for the fall. The service was good too, our waitress was able to explain the menu well for us. I also had a drink that was really good, nice and strong. Wonderful place
……. READ THIS REVIEW ……… GO-GO-GO!!!!! This is the place that INVENTED the margarita machine and the first frozen margarita!!! The food is true Tex-Mex at its best. I arrived at 6:30pm on a Thursday night and the parking lot is packed with a 45min waiting list. I got the last seat at the bar. (Whew!) Fast service from the bar and kitchen (8-10 min for food!). Impressive while totally packed. Very nice and attentive staff. Patrons are multi-generational and there was a great happy buzz in the air. Why advertise? They are packed every night… and now I know why! Strawberry Margarita: Delicious. Perfect thickness and texture, normal strength (you can taste the tequila), and it doesn’t melt too fast. I recommend these over a swirl. Red Salsa: Delicious, not sweet or bitter. Just perfect! Nice tight small chop on everything (not puréed), great flavor and balance of every ingredient you expect. (There is also a darker version I did not try.) Tortillas: Super fresh, handmade, and only minutes off the grill when you get them. Awesome! (They last perfect in a ziplock.) Beef Enchiladas: Perfect! Savory dark meat sauce, elegant and obviously old school cooking from home. It’s not thick and creamy like some lesser quality places serve - this is like a hearty Texas mini-chili consistency that’s exactly what I would expect, and not greasy! The meat is moist (not greasy), nicely seasoned and portioned. Yummy - get some!! (10 out of 10) Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas: Generous portion of shredded chicken, nice flavor but about 20% on the dry side. The sour cream sauce is very Tex-Mex traditional, soft hints of the sour come through, nice consistency. Overall 6 out of 10. Beef Fajitas: Wow! Really good. Soft, moist, and tender meat, well seasoned and smokey. The handmade tortillas are a perfect compliment. I’m getting these again. (Ask for double onions and bell peppers or you will run out.) 10 out of 10. Chicken Fajitas: Wow! Equally good. Thick long pieces and smokey, perfect moistness and flavor. Definitely worth getting. (Ask for double onions and bell peppers or you will run out.) 10 out of 10. Overall restaurant score = 8 out of 10. (Could be 10 out of 10 depending on what you order.) definitely worth going once. Then decide for yourself if you want to come back. As for me, I’ll be back and tweeting my order.
Mariano's was great and the service was excellent 👌 as we enter the ladies upfront we're very welcoming. We got serve by miss Patricia which give us great service and was very attentive thank you 🙏 food was awesome 💯 we had flautas , cheese and chips , torbellinos omg the best . The outside don't do this place any justice . As u Walk in this place is very nice check them out be ur own critic
This seems to be the place to be as it was packed and I waited 20+ minutes for a table before 5pm on a Saturday afternoon ! The chips and salsa were amazing. They have nice thin, non-greasy chips and the salsas were so flavourful...I ordered a cup of their queso too, and it also did not disappoint. For my main I had the Poblano al Carbon. My favourite part was the cheese enchilada covered with the spicy sundance sauce. The poblano was nicely flame broiled but the filling was mostly spilled out and luke warm when it arrived to me. Still it was really good. Also served with rice, pinto beans and guacamole. A truly fabulous meal. I also had a Paloma cocktail and the Mariano Margarita, both of which were fantastic. Service was stellar and very attentive considering how busy and bustling it was. You should definitely check this place out.
Great family restaurant. Kids menu has multiple activities and the crayons are dual sided. Seems trivial but they clearly go the extra mile. Two different salsas: one mild and one spicy. Chips are crisp and salty, which I like. Didn’t try the drinks but they look amazing. PLENTY of food that tastes great and will have leftovers. Fajita meat is tender. Onions aren’t carmelized but soft. Tortillas are light and fluffy. Looking forward to trying the margaritas next time.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa were amazing. I like that they served two different salsas (a warm and cold). The drink was made very well, I was buzzing after one Fire & Ice. The chicken enchilada and flautitas were delicious. High quality food and drinks, but it’s pricey!
I got a Mariano Margarita and the Brisket tacos. My coworkers had strawberry and mango margaritas and we had queso that had ground beef and guacamole in it. That meat was so tasty I'm going to order the enchiladas next time. Awesome rustic atmosphere, great drinks, amazing food, definitely a must try.
Delicious food & such great service. We went for an early dinner this past Saturday & our server was so sweet and attentive. The queso was great & even reheated well. The two types of salsa were sooo good with one being more sweet & the other being more spicy! For my main dish, I ordered the chicken enchiladas which tasted great & my husband got a burrito which he enjoyed!
Nice staff and good food! I visited to try TexMex cuisine. It was a Friday night, so there were many people dining in and getting takeout. Due to the long wait around 40 minutes, I decided to order takeout. The staff working at the takeout station were very friendly and helpful! When I ate the food I ordered, I found some dust around the top of the pepper, but it wasn't a big deal. Overall, it was a little bit salty, but the taste was good. I will visit again!
Ramiro Rodriguez is the best waiter in Dallas! The food is simply outstanding! We had combo fajitas and they were spectacular! Love the corn and flour tortillas are the best.
We tried this place out and it was great! Slow crowd on an early Saturday around 11am. To start we got chips and hot sauce and they serve two different types of hot sauce. They were both great but one was heated up and I’m not very fond of salsa like that but had great flavor. We both ordered the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and they were fantastic with the house chili sauce they have. They also make tortillas in house which is even better. The drinks are a little expensive but they use a little higher end tequila so no big deal. Can’t wait to go back and try new plates! Thanks and great job guys.
We got this to go, for our first experience with this restaurant! The employees were all so very helpful in helping me decide which plates to try! They recommended the spicy chicken verde, the shrimp wrapped in bacon, and they did not disappoint! We will definitely be back! They have made it to my list of favorites! Everything was so flavorful, hot, and beautifully laid out, even as a to go order! I can’t wait to go back and dine in next time!
We had Thomasa today and I ordered a burger that’s new to the menu ,the vip and the mariano, the food was amazing. The burger was absolutely delicious ,100% recommend and amazing service!!
Me and my wife are in Dallas for a convention and seen this place on TikTok. They were so busy we were looked over at First, but when it was recognized that we hadn’t been served the waitress apologized and even the manager came over and offered us an apology and a free dessert. If I’m being truly honest, the service the atmosphere and the food is absolutely amazing. I usually don’t give five stars, but this restaurant deserves it. I would recommend anyone to come to this place.
Can't believe I've never been here but finally did & not disappointed at all! Quality food & some unique items on the menu worth trying. And of course the margaritas were legit! Some of the other drinks were great too (gotta try The Twist!). Only complaint is the service on this night. There seemed to be a hundred employees scurrying around but our guy disappeared for long stretches when our glasses were empty. Not great but not gonna keep me from going back, they were pretty busy & it's the Saturday before Christmas, I'll cut the wait staff some slack. My new regular place when I'm in town!
OMG! I have been around this restaurant since my child was am arm baby and I finally went to check them out. The restaurants food was so delicious. Everything arrived at the table in a timely manner and the margaritas 🍹 was fire. The waitress was so attentive and made sure everything was to me and my best friends liking and they had such an inviting staff all in all. This place had such a great atmosphere that I can't wait to bring my family back to try. This is definitely is one of my top favs!
First time visiting Dallas and we were very lucky to find this restaurant because it was great! The staff were welcoming and we had a fabulous rapport with our waiter. We shared our appreciation for high quality tequila. My wife and I could have eaten their chips and salsa all day, but stopped long enough to eat some main courses. We enjoyed the Pablano El Carbon and Brisket Tacos. I highly recommend the Mariano Marguerita.
I love this place. Every time I come to Dallas I try to make it to Mariano’s. The Dad’s State Fair Texas Chili is phenomenal! I’m convinced that it’s gone on literally anything. The Mariano’s Margarita was fantastic, I loved the the lime flower that they decorated it with. The Queso was great too.
It has been a few years since my last visit prior to last night, and previously I wasn't impressed. The food last night was on point. The service was a little slow, but no complaints. Wednesday night is half price The Pappas margarita, and so it was busy. 30 min wait for a table for 7. There's a little gazebo(?) outside where one can wait. I won't wait so long to visit again.
Great lunch outing! I got the fish tacos and my friend got an a-la-carte order granted him by our accommodating waitress. The decorations are awesome and they have a little tortilla making booth which is a must see. If you have a large party, you can reserve their private party room (pictured).
Took my wife on a lunch date this past Sunday and we had a great time. The food, the margaritas and the service were all top notch. My wife is not always the easiest person to impress but our server Juan made her smile and seeing her happy makes me happy so thank you sir and you will see us again. 10/10 Recommend 💯
Ramiro was AMAZING!!! truly the best server both my boyfriend and I have ever had. from start to finish, he was attentive, personable, and made our entire experience feel special. we ordered the steak fajita nachos (not pictured), the spicy chicken verde, and Mariano’s Favorite and every single bite was absolutely delicious. everything came out perfectly and full of flavor. between the phenomenal service and incredible food, this was easily a 10/10 experience. we’ll definitely be back for our man Ramiro!
My all time favorite place to eat. I absolutely feel like family here. From the top to the bottom, the staff is second to none. From the ladies at the front desk always making me feel at home to the cooks in the back that prepare my meals. Mariano's is a 10 star establishment in my book. Mario is and exceptional manager with top tier customer service skills and Brian is a phenomenal server always paying attention to ensure my visits are personalized. I spend so much time here, half the staff has named me after one of the restaurants signature dishes, "Spicy Chicken Verde"! I said all this to say thanks to the entire team for always going the extra mile to make visits unforgettable. #ILoveItHere!
Mariano's has been our favorite casual Tex-Mex spot in Dallas for years. I've been eating here since I was a child, and it was on Greenville Avenue. It's that kind of place. The food is high quality, fresh, and delicious. Let's talk about the food. They of course bring out chips and salsa. The chips are freshly made. They are crisp, hot, and delicious. They serve two kinds of salsa. One is a traditional red salsa, which has some heat (and is delightful,) the other is a smokey roasted red salsa served warm. It's the star of the show. We've had numerous appetizers, all are top notch, but the chile con queso and beef fajita nachos are what really shine. I've not had a better queso anywhere. The beef fajita nachos are second to none. The beef is melt in your mouth tender. The chips aren't the basket chips. They make them just for the nachos. They a hefty and flat and never get soggy. The beans are smoky and flavorful. If you prefer to start with soup, I highly recommend their tortilla soup. It's simple and fresh and not overly fussy. I've never had an entree I didn't love. Their enchiladas are all fantastic. They aren't super imaginative, but they are the best for what they are. Their red rice is solid, and the refried beans are delicious. I've not had a better mar de Tierra. It's jalapeno and cojita stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon and sided with ranchero bean soup, which is stellar in itself. I have their veggie fajitas a number of times. They are smokey, flavorful, and filling. Speaking of fajitas, they make their tortillas in house and they are sublime. I'll let everyone in on a little secret. Mariano's aims to please and will make generous substitutions. If they have the ingredients, they will make what you want if you are polite. That policy speaks to their service in general. Many of the servers have been there for years. Service is fast, and reliable. It's the kind of place where the server doesn't bug you, but are around if you need something. I've only had an issue once in 30 adult years, and it was due to shift change. They comped part of our meal and we didn't even say anything other than politely letting the manager know we hadn't seen our server in 20 minutes. As far as atmosphere goes it's warm and inviting. It's a large restaurant, but manages to feel smaller. It's not quiet, but conversation isn't difficult. It is crowded and there is usually a 30 minute to hour wait during dinner on the weekends, so be prepared. It's honestly the only place left that we go that ever has a wait anymore. It's because it's so good.
We were in Dallas to visit our family and one night we went to Mariano’s Hacienda Ranch for dinner. It was standing room only. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table back in the family/large group area. Waiter came right away for drink orders and back again soon for food orders. I ordered a combo enchilada and taco dinner with beans and rice. Food came out fairly fast for such a huge restaurant. When you enter, you pass the bar area and then we walked thru a dining room to get to the back room. Seemed to be full all night. A very pleasant dining experience and we and everyone else were all having a great time.
8-24-25 Waiting time was zero !!! Nice open space dim lighting to set the mood. Edgar was a very attentive waiter & his professionalism was A1 !! Tortilla chips & cueso was authentically satisfying !! Margaritas mixed to perfection & the Chicken fajitas were amazing. Thank you for the great experience !!! Best regards
By far, our favorite Tex-Mex spot in Dallas! The atmosphere is always lively and full of energy, and more often than not there’s a wait — which just goes to show how beloved this place is. One of the best touches? The tortilla makers who hand-roll and cook them fresh right in front of you, and they’ll happily pass along a sample to your kiddos while you wait. The house-made tortillas are soft, warm, and tender — the perfect companion to any dish. The fajitas, whether steak or chicken, are juicy and perfectly seasoned, cooked over a live fire that gives them that rich, smoky flavor you can’t replicate at home. My personal favorite is the tortilla soup, loaded with flavor and hearty enough that I always end up with leftovers for another meal. Drinks have inched up in price, but if you sign up for their emails you’ll find some hidden happy hour specials that make it well worth it. All in all, it’s a go-to spot where great food, fun vibes, and family-friendly touches keep us coming back again and again.
Had dinner at Mariano's on a Thursday night and thought it would be quiet but the place was packed. We were surprised to have a wait (about 20 minutes for a table of four), but honestly, it was kind of refreshing to see a restaurant so busy these days. They do take reservations, which we’ll probably do next time. The only downside was the waiting area it was almost elbow-to-elbow with not much space to sit. But once we were seated in a big booth in the back, everything was great. Our server was super attentive, and the food hit the spot. The kids liked their meals, and the adults had brisket nachos and fish tacos. The nachos were good, but the fish tacos were easily some of the best I’ve had in Dallas. The spicy green sauce was so good! It’s a big, lively place with an A/C patio and a full team keeping things running smoothly. All in all, a fun dinner spot—we’ll definitely be back!
The unlimited chips and salsa were a great start. The individual queso was enough for 2 and comes with some thicker chips, make sure to stir as there are peppers mixed in. The brisket tacos were tasty and flavorful. The steak fajitas were tender and well seasoned, even the one person portion was enough for 2 (only 3 tortillas though). The strawberry margarita was stronger than expected.

I will always travel to this place to get great fresh Mexican food. They always have great service and the food never disappoints. Drinks are always tasty. Carmelo our server made sure we were taken of promptly. We love coming here!! Thank you guys. The stuffed jalapenos were to die for....
Tried Mariano's on a whim after passing by in traffic. All social distancing protocols were in place (masks, 6ft seating, no menus). Sat @ the bar because there was no available seating on the patio. Ordered The Mariano Margarita, Queso Mariano, Burrito Sonora & Steak & Chicken Fajitas. The food was quickly served, large portion sizes & was amazing! The drinks were good also, just served in a pretty small glass for $14. Overall it was a great dining experience, would try a different drink next time.
Kichy and fabulously themed and decorated Mexican spot. Great for parties. Food is very much average Tex Mex but tasty. Was surprised to realize the chicken on the fajitas was processed pressed. Margaritas are served in a small glass that is mostly ice, not worth the money. Overall would definitely go back just no margaritas and no fajita chicken.
Tex mex is my favorite.... Marianos got it right! Dont go during lunch time... Wait for food was longer than Id like but overall good vibes.
We stopped by one night for dinner with some friends. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was fun and casual. We all ordered fajitas and margaritas. Our fajitas were well seasoned and sizzling. The margaritas were just okay. We couldn't put our finger on what was off but it just didn't taste quite right. All in all, it was a fun night.
The food is great. They will generously accommodate a vegetarian guest. The service was outstanding. Jocelyn was our amazing server. The only thing that was a negative for me was that the whole restaurant has an over abundance of taxidermy. It is loaded. I found it to be unnerving and unsettling.
I was invited to lunch by my cousin. This was my first time trying this restaurant. I had chicken tortilla soup, it was delish and flavorful. They offer complimentary chips and salsa, but they do charge for the tortillas. There was also a $2 upcharge for the beef poblano pepper. I also tried the stuffed poblano pepper. It was too cheesy for my liking. The music and ambiance was festive. They also prepare tortillas on site and are well known for their frozen margaritas. I will definitely be back and recommend it to others.👍🤤
Goal: ApplePie. Achieved. Got it to go. Was great. Really like the cinnamon ice cream that comes with it. The pie was served super hot which made it extra good. The crust was the best part.
Having grown up with Texas-style Mexican cuisine as a steady and culturally intertwined part of my life, I feel qualified to say this place hits the spot. But let’s be honest — Mexican food, at its core, isn’t all that different from hamburgers. It’s hard to mess up if you’re using quality ingredients. The fundamentals are strong. The margin for disaster usually lives in the details: stale chips, skimpy fajita portions at premium prices, or rice and beans that taste like an afterthought. And that’s where this place surprised me. The rice stood out. It was subtle — different from the traditional, tomato-forward, cumin-laced Mexican rice I’m used to — yet somehow more satisfying. Cleaner. More refined. It wasn’t bad at all. In fact, it was good. The only tension for me is that it strays from what I instinctively expect Mexican rice to taste like. The signature flavor profile most of us associate with it is noticeably different here. So much so that it becomes difficult to compare it fairly to other places. Once you adjust to this version, everything else might feel slightly off. That said, this is preference talking — my idea of what Mexican food “should” taste like versus what may actually be more appealing to someone encountering it for the first time. Would I eat here again? Absolutely. Would I bring someone here who has never had Mexican food before? Also yes — especially if they’re a work associate visiting from Cincinnati who can’t stop talking about Cincinnati chili. Everything else was solid. The shrimp fajitas were cooked perfectly, and the flavors came together in that cohesive, grilled authenticity everyone hopes for when ordering fajitas.
The only thing I have to say is waited a long while before they paid me any attention sent me at the bar. Then when I ordered I ordered the enchilada plate beef. But he didn't ask if I wanted 2 or 3 enchiladas. I wanted 3 and he never came back near me for a good while. When they brought plate asked if he could charge me for 3 enchiladas and put other one to go. Needless to say I never got my 3rd enchilada but know I paided for it cuz he went over the to the computer at the bar for several minutes to add it on there! Bummer! Made me disappointed bout this place, it was my first time there more then likely my last
Excellent place for an early lunch. Try the trio enchiladas and the poblano al Carbon chile. Tasty rice and flavorful refried beans. The pasadero cheeses on the poblano pepper gives a special flavor. The enchilada that comes with lg the poblano can be improved if they use asadero cheese rather than cheese sauce. The cheese has used has super mild almost no taste. I have tested the margarita which was strong and tasty. If you are driving don’t get more that one or have a designated driver with you. Prices are reasonable service quick and location is a little bit far from Allen but is worth the drive.
I saw a TikTok of a lady saying her favorite item from here was the Spicy Chicken Verde, so I had to try it. The sauce was on the salty side for me, but I am usually sensitive to salt so others may like it. I added a side of grilled vegetables, which I asked the waiter if they came seasoned or with garlic butter & he said that they did however I didn't detect either. I'd like to go back to try the chicken & shrimp fajitas. My mango strawberry margarita was good.
I got the Burrito Sonora and the portions were generous. The two types of complementary salsas were delicious, particularly the verde. Our server was new and the table side made guac lacked flavor and lime. She also didn’t know the happy hour specials but she has plenty of time to learn.

As the title says, awesome and flavorful fajitas (shrimp, beef and chicken). The only suggestion since this a takeout order is that more onions and peppers would have been included with the meats.…
I used to come here often, but hadn’t been in quit awhile. Upon entering the hostess mumbled something. We were seated & our server came out promptly. He was is such a hurry he took off before we could place a drink order. Same when he brought back our drinks. We were in the middle of a work day, so I just needed to get our food order in. This was mid afternoon on a week day. Maybe 2 other tables & several wait people on duty. We had finished lunch. Then we waited. And waited. I finally had to go to the hostess, who seemed confused, but we finally received the check. Then waited some more to get my card back. A lot of waiting. I can’t go back there on a work day again. The food was not great. In my opinion the lunch specials aren’t all that special price wise. Overall— I’ll just go to any of the other Tex-Mex restaurants that are scattered about.
Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience eating on a Friday night. I’ll start off with the positives. Our waitress was on point, and the food was quickly brought to our table. It’s very impressive that the place is completely packed, and you still get your food quickly with an attentive server. So five stars for that. Where I have to take away 2 though, is that the food was not great. We ordered fajita’s and brisket tacos. The brisket tacos were really good, but fajitas were just ok. The peppers and onions were over cooked, and the chicken was just ok, did not have much flavor. I also ordered the fire and ice margarita. Very disappointed bc it tasted like it was mostly water. I drank it before my meal and questioned if it had any alcohol in it at all. I think they completely messed it up. For the price they charge, that’s not cool. So overall, probably won’t be back.
We had a good meal even though it got off to a rough start. We were seated on the patio, which we were told was air conditioned. With 105 degrees outside, we found the patio "air conditioned" in name only. Fans brought it down to 90 but if you are temp sensitive, wait for inside seating. We had the best server, but she was fighting an uphill battle. It took 5 tries to get water in a clean glass. (FIRE THE DISHWASHER!) The meal was okay, but did not live up to expectations. Our order included their basic queso, Saltillo dinner plus a beef enchilada, Pablano Peppèr dinner, and chcken enchiladas, so lots of chances to shine. Their historic frozen marquerita was the only standout. Loved the history on the walls, but this visit did not live up to the hype.
I love this restaurant! Everything tastes very good and service is always top notch but I just tried catering for the first time and we are so disappointed. We ordered 2 of the fajita kits for 7-8 people. Each came with fixings- great. But when we got home and started unpacking everything, we noticed we were given 2 quart size containers about 70% full of rice. I measured it to 6 cups of cooked rice total. Between 15 people, each portion was BARLEY what you get in the restaurant (if that). For $400, I thought the fixings would be plenty. I ended up making more rice at home. If you're ordering catering, be sure you check the serving sizes before leaving. You might need to order more. Also, when we called trying to make sure this size was right, we got put on hold and transferred FOUR times. When we finally got through to someone he explained that was the right size and if we wanted more, we would have to pay more. No "I apologize that you were expecting more" before telling us it was the right size. Very matter of fact and nothing else. That might sit right with someone and even though we weren't asking for anything free, some sincerity would go a long ways.
I’m going to be very blunt: this is “white hype” Tex-Mex. It’s very basic and not stellar cuisine. I recommend Emilio’s around the corner by Sam’s Club. Fun part of Dallas’s history, good for Dallas Tourists, somewhat fair prices. Not a fan of La Hacienda Ranch either as it’s the same old same old, very appealing to those who want culture and flavor but don’t have the experience or capacity to discern the difference between what does or doesn’t have it. These restaurants are a scratch-and-sniff of what is imagined when “Tex-Mex” comes to mind. The experience is okay; waitstaff are quick and efficient but only give you that extra bit of care and attention if you are a party of five or more. Came here the night before Thanksgiving and then the same night one week later for date night. In my reservation I specifically said it was for date night, and had hoped to get a quiet corner booth or at least the option to choose, as most restaurants ask you. We got there and were directed to the patio, next to an extremely loud and obnoxious birthday group surrounded by children who were more tame and well-behaved than them. But they would give a bigger tip in total, so they got the star treatment while the rest of us got short, quick, dry interactions with our waiters. I can’t imagine I’ll be coming back intentionally.
The service was average. We were seated within 30 minutes on a busy night. Waited another 35 minutes after being seated for food to be served. The food was mediocre. Steak fajitas were a bit tough to chew and lacked seasoning. We were disappointed with the table side guacamole as it lacked seasoning and was made with avocado that was not ripe enough. If I had to choose I would continue going to La Hacienda where the food is much better. Not sure why they are so different from each other.

My god niece (real word) was celebrating her return from boot camp and starting her senior year in high school. I haven't seen her in ages, I HAD TO GO. Before I let loose on this place I know my people. The invitation said 7 p.m. (I know they made reservations for 7) me and my bestie arrived around 7:45 thinking the host were already there and seated (nope THEY didn't show up till after 8). I'm nervous because there's three other parties outside waiting, we had a large group and they had a birthday event in the large room, and the place is packed. We did NOT get a table till after 9 p.m. and the food took another hour to come OUT, and mind YOU they close at 11, I felt rushed (not by THEM, more SO by us knowing they were closing and cleaning around us). It was at that moment, I decided NEVER to go to a place I have to WAIT TO GIVE YOU MY $$$$ (and NEVER take any more dinner offers from my niece.....lol this always happens). The food was GREAT, the portions were hearty and the drinks were GOOD, the overall atmosphere was comforting (the bathroom had an issue with sanitary napkins flowing out the receptor). I blame my party for missing the reservation 1 hr and I blame the restaurant for not having our food out 1 hr. The food would make me want to return, I highly doubt I would since I don't live in that area. I would recommend this place for a GOOD date night or take out (call ahead and pick up).
I order a fajitas plate for lunch, not knowing that it was 2 tacos with fajitas meat, rice and beans. The beans and rice were great. Delicious with a goof flavor. When they brought the plate it wasn't a steak of fajitas, it was 2 tacos. The tacos had very little meat, I don't even remembered the taste, nor the flavor. I was pretty dissapointed. I don't like tex-Mex food I really preferred authentic Mexican food and since I cook a lot for my family, I was very dissapointed about the amount of meat in my tacos. A few pieces. I have gone to other places like Casa Navarro and their lunches are better, more quantity. I will never go there again. I have know that Mexican Rest. owned by Hispanic they serve less food. Not interested in that. Even Chili's give a better amount.

I have been eating at this restaurant for years. I ordered a kids meal for my daughter. The manager on duty Edgar said kids meals no longer come with chips and salsa. I Will NEVER come back to this restaurant
Food was not good at all. I did inform the manager and he seemed as if he couldn't care less. The waiter did not attempt to make my experience better. Didnt suggest a replacement or anything of the sort. My first time here and definitely my last.
My family and I have been loyal patrons of Mariano’s for over a decade, until now. It appears there has been a shift in management or ownership, as observed by recent changes to the menu and the quality of service. During our visit, my wife and I ordered two mango margaritas with our dinner, only to find ourselves charged $21 each, despite the menu clearly indicating a price of $15. When we raised this concern, we were met with aggression and hostility from our server, who failed to mention that the restaurant now offers drinks in different sizes. This lack of communication is disappointing, as one would expect such changes to be clearly advertised rather than misrepresented.Instead of adjusting the price to rectify their oversight, the server and the manager argued that we had already consumed our drinks. Naturally, that’s what people do when they order drinks. We are so disappointed in the way we were treated. The lack of respect we received was simply unimaginable. Such a shame that an establishment with such a great reputation would allow this to happen.
My husband and I went there for dinner for my son’s birthday. We noticed the menu was different and the food wasn’t prepared the same as before (we have been going there for over 5 plus years and order the same thing ever time). We each ordered a margarita. Our waitress failed to mention the happy hour special (the other tables had waiters who were verbally advertising it) and we ended up ordering a drink that wasn’t on the happy hour. We asked if we could switch our drink order to something on the happy hour but she said it was too late. Ok, no problem. Well, when we got our bill, the mango margaritas that were on the menu as $15 were $21 on the bill. So, I asked about it and the waitress said we drank the “large” margarita so they charged us the higher price. I didn’t see a higher priced margarita on the menu and I’ve ordered this drink every time I’ve been there over the past several years and never had a problem. After going back and forth with the waitress, the manager comes out and says it would cause problems if he went to the owners about having the additional pricing for the large drinks on the menu. After going back and forth he asked me to leave without paying my bill. I have never been treated like that by a restaurant in my life. Why not adjust the drink price to the $15 than eat the entire bill? I would have rather paid the entire bill (over $100) and been treated with some respect and acknowledgement that they do not advertise multiple drink sizes / drink pricing. Again, I’ve been going there for years and have never had an issue. The manager could have cared less. He laughed when I told him people will stop coming here if this is how they do business.
The customer service here is absolutely unacceptable. We were told one wait time, only for it to go way past what we were promised and no one seemed willing to help or communicate with us. Every time I went to ask for an update, Jessica and a girl named Ana just looked at me like I was bothering them, with zero effort to actually assist or give clear information, not once did the manager come to check in or apologize for the long amount of wait time we waited. This will definitely be our last time going there.
Racist vibes today! I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience needs to be shared. I experienced what felt like racially biased treatment during my visit. The way I was spoken to and treated compared to other customers was unacceptable. No one should have to question whether they’re being treated differently because of their race. It left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. Restaurants should be spaces where everyone feels respected. I hope management addresses this seriously and ensures better training and accountability moving forward.
When you walk in the place its great. Its very atmospheric, its lower light on the intererior so you dont feel blinded and they have a big monument on the path to the seating areas where they proudly let you know theyre the first to have machine produced frozen margaritas. The place seems very clean and its lovely inside. The wait staff is expeditious and courteous; Never had to wait on a refill or a spare napkin. I would like to continue saying good things but thats where the good ends. My best advice is try the margaritas because the rest of the food is subpar for the price. We ordered the chicken Texas torpedoes, "Angus" steak fajitas and the Pancho Villa enchilada plate. The torpedos came out screaming hot to the point where we had to wait at least 5 mins before we could take a bite and Ive tasted more flavor in a retirement home than on those. The trend continued along the entrees too; the fajita came out on a still frying cast iron plate which gave us good hope but it was quickly dashed when it was tried. It had almost no seasoning, the veggies on the tray were not even slightly cooked, the meat was of a lesser quality than what you would pick up at Walmart. The rice and refried beans were just as unseasoned as the main platter. Tortillas were fresh though. The avocado in the guacamole was almost completely unmashed so it was just one big bite of green. Onto the Pancho Villa enchilada plate; it was so unremarkable and one texture that the only reason I know I moved on from a side on the dish to the actual enchilada was that I hit a tortilla. No meat resistance on the inside. The flavor was still the same highly unseasoned taste as well. When I think of Tex-Mex I think of the lovely marriage of Texas flavors and Mexican dishes this was not it. This was an insult to everything about good flavors and food. Its a fouling of the name of texas flavors, Mexican dishes and the spirit of the being able to show an out of stater what good Tex-Mex is like. If your choice is either this or taco bell, save the 60 bucks and ring the bell instead.
I really wanted to like Mariano’s Hacienda Ranch, but after two visits with almost identical issues, I feel like I need to share my experience. I completely understand that certain processes and regulations have to be followed, no problem with that. What’s frustrating is how things are communicated and how the staff makes you feel when you ask for help or clarification. Both times I’ve brought up a concern, I’ve been met with attitudes that felt dismissive and uninterested. The first time, the manager didn’t seem to care at all. This second time around, I still didn’t feel heard, respected, or understood. It wasn’t the policy that bothered me it was the lack of effort to explain things in a kind or accommodating way. Customer service should make people feel welcome and valued, even when something can’t be done. Unfortunately, that has never been the case for me here. I truly wish their customer service matched the quality they try to represent, because right now it falls extremely short.

What people say about Mariano's Hacienda
Addison's Tex-Mex Soul: Still Sizzling at Mariano's
There are some places that just feel like home, and for anyone who's spent time in the Dallas area, Mariano's Hacienda in Addison is likely one of them. This isn't just another Tex-Mex joint; it's a cornerstone, a spot many of us have been coming to since we were kids, even back when it was on Greenville Avenue. It’s the kind of place you head to when you can’t make up your mind, knowing you’re in for a consistently delightful experience.Let's talk about the food, because that’s where Mariano
Mariano's Hacienda: Addison's Tex-Mex Heartbeat
For anyone who calls the Dallas area home, especially those of us around Addison, Mariano's Hacienda is more than just a restaurant; it’s a landmark. This isn’t a place you just stumble upon; it’s a destination, a true staple that has carved out a significant spot in our local culinary scene. If you're anything like me, you probably have your go-to order, but sometimes straying from the usual pays off in delicious ways. Take the Tex Mex Carne Asada, for instance. It's absolutely fantastic, ser...
