Honestly one of the best places I’ve been to for Mexican food. 10/10 recommend!! Prices were good and that’s hard to find, but the food?? Even better than the prices!! Would give more stars if possible!

This place has very good food options. My personal favorite option here is the guisado de res which is a stew with beef and potatoes sided with delicious rice and beans. The servers are nice but won’t regularly check up on you as much as you’d expect. The atmosphere is pretty good. This is definitely my go to restaurant with my family or friends!

I have been eating at this place for 20 years. There are two locations I used to live near the love field location and that’s where we started eating at. Now this location is the closer to me. The food is 280 exactly the same. It’s absolutely delicious. The service is amazing.

We are Texans and we love our Mexican food. Love this place, now, don't look for fancy because it's not. It's clean and the folks that work there are very nice. I've tried almost every meal and love the home cooked meal feel and taste.

Food is not Tex mex, it’s authentic. It’s good, quick, and home made. This isn’t some fancy place, but it’s clean, fresh, hot, and delicious. I will be back, for sure.

I definitely recommend trying this place out. The food, especially the menudo is soo good.

An acquaintance suggested Tipicos, and we decided to take a road trip to try it. So worth the time and effort! Tipicos is the real deal. I had chicken fajitas, and my fellow roadies had the enchilada plate and burritos. We all had margaritas made from scratch. At least they tasted that way! The prices were quite reasonable. We will be back!

The menudo is just like abuelitas. That alone keeps me coming back. Also the staff is friendly and service prompt. So delicious!

Lively, vibrant atmosphere. Went for lunch at 2:15 pm on a weekend and the place was quiet. Quick and friendly service. I ordered the Nopalitos con Tortas de Camron from the Lent menu and it was super yummy! Food came out in a matter of minutes. Chips and two types of salsa were included with the meal. The whole meal felt decently nutritious and filling and came to about $11 before tip. I’m so glad I stopped here instead of Wendy’s.

I spend many breakfasts here, actually I go for breakfast, lunch or dinner! They never disappoint! The staff is nice and the mexican music videos have turned me on to some new artists! If I could I would eat at Tipicos every day!

Whoever is cooking the food on Saturday at 4pm on Feb 1. You did an amazing job. I come to tipicos once a month and the food is always amazing. But this time I ordered what I normally do, pollo a la Mexicana with flour tortillas and it by far was the best most delicious time yet. I'm so satisfied. Thank you tipicos.

Really incredible old-school Mexican food!! If you're looking for guisados or caldos, then this is the place. If the salsa is as important to you as it is to me, then you really do have to make this worthwhile visit. Probably some of the best enchiladas I've ever had!!! We went Sunday afternoon, and the wait was about 5 minutes. Their prices were, to me, very reasonable. Was well worth the illegal u-turn!! Highly recommend!!

I got the caldo de res which came with warm fresh tortillas, a good portion of rice, and a lemon on the side! The caldo was delicious and very filling. Just about every person here ordered a bowl of caldo and everyone seemed just as pleased as me. The service was lovely and the restaurant played classic Mexican music. Food was delicious as always! We had the Beef Soup and Menudo! Servers are super accommodating and friendly!One of my favorite plate is the chicken mole! I wanted a quart of the sauce to go so I could eat it with rice at hone but it was too expensive :(.

The choice between trying Wendy's breakfast, which is right next door, or this place was not an easy one. Eating at Tipicos was a better option. A traditional Mexican breakfast is always great but when you combine it with great service, it tastes even better. I never had to ask for coffee. The ladies were on top it. If you are in the area in the A.M. give this place try. I'll add pics on my next visit. Was too hungry this time. 😉

I can eat here everyday and never get tired of it. The beans and rice are outstanding! The prices are very reasonable. Breakfast is around $7 and no dinner item is more than $12. Good portion sizes and I have yet to eat something I didn't like. Be aware that you have to seat yourself and pay at the register with your table number. Also the parking is a little akward but that is the worst thing I can say about Tipico's.

Excellent food. Good service as far as staff.. If you order online though, the order getting to the restaurant can be delayed. I've had this happen 2x. The online service told me an hour, when I got to the restaurant at deadline they didn't have the order. It showed up 15 mins later after I got to the place to pick up.

This isn't fine dining, but the food is great and inexpensive. I enjoyed my Tipico's lunch experience. And so did my coworkers. One said, "Those chicken fajitas were pretty damn good." So say we all.

Their Asado de Puerco is really good. Better than Cuquita's and El Paisa for sure. Loved their salsa and chips. My coworker ordered the menudo and wasn't a fan. Their fried tripe is good but greasy (you have to be in the right mood for it).

The food is delicious. We got the papa con huevos (potato and eggs) with refried beans. Their tortillas are homemade. I wouldn't get their coffee. The server was super patient and kind. The menu; the prices were covered up. I asked the server why that was. Their menu prices weren't up to date to what they have in the system. I mean we had the funds to go out to eat, but did not hurt ask. The check out was smooth and girl at the counter was nice to. I would go back again. To try their other dishes.

We've been coming to Tipico's for more than 10 years. The staff have always been nice and good. (I drink a lot of tea and they check on us several times, so I never wait for refills.) Good salsa & good hand made tortillas. While their Tex-Mex isn't the best I've had, it's good and very consistent. I've eaten at nearly every Tex-Mex place in Carrollton, and this is one of three that we come back to.

Quiet restaurant. The place could use a makeover for a better flow. The food was decent but not great. Salsa with the chips was really good.

Never ever go on a Sunday because you will be crowded by people practically sitting on your lap. The food is good but the staff could use more training and the decor is in dire need of reconstruction. In fact the restaurant needs to be demolished and rebuilt. Everything is old and run down and if it weren't for the delicous torillas, free chips and salsa and fajitas this place would not be so great. Just make sure you see what you are being charged for is correct and that you aren't tipping your waitress/waiter twice.

The food was okay. Not the place you want to go if you're looking for very spicy and flavorful food. The beans were good, but the Guisado is nothing to write home about, the enchiladas were a bit soupy and not very firm. The flavor was okay. I'm pretty underwhelmed, but understand that spice is not everyone's preference. On the upside if you have a sensitive palate or stomach, this place won't disturb that. The service was by far subpar. We waited around 10 minutes and had to flag down the waitress to ask for the check. Waited another 3 minutes or so, with the waitress passing by. No check. I finally walked up to the counter and paid there.

Girlfriend's food was great, but my enchiladas tasted like the chicken was taken from a rotisserie chicken from Wal-Mart. Got three bites of nerve or tendon in only TWO enchiladas. My rice was crunchy and was obviously reheated in the microwave. Only offered to refund me for the two chicken enchiladas. Was still charged for the poor rice and beans plus my two beef enchiladas.

Good food, customer service is good in restaurant but over the phone you're lucky if they get your order right...always forget something. Also food portions have minimized. Got a large caldo and it was half the cup it was before.

Pros, the food is good. It was very clean. Nice staff. Cons, it's a bit dated The menu is very difficult to read. Another, pro is that it has good atmosphere. Be aware that you will need to pay for your order upfront. We were not told that by our waitress. Our waitress didn't ask us if we wanted anything else to drink. Why do they have a newspaper stand in the restaurant? Seems odd to me.

I was actually quite disappointed. Several of my work friends have visited before and gave this place high marks. My experience was definitely not the same. I had the Tacos Al Carbon and the best part was the homemade tortillas. The plate came with beans and rice, both that were like warm at best. The beef in the tacos was not tender and rather bland. Since the dish doesn't come with pico or anything to put on the tacos, I resorted to use the salsa provided with the chips to flavor up the tacos. My friend that was with me had their Menudo which she liked, so that was okay. I would say to try it out if you are out of lunch options, your experience might be better than mines, but I wouldn't recommend this place or call it a must try...

The service there was great, it's a nice place, but the parking asphalt has a lot of holes. The huevos ranchero's were good, but I like my eggs over easy, not over hard. The flour tortillas got hard really quick, and the refried beans had no taste. The coffee was good. Otherwise, it's just one visit. I probably need to go again and try something different.

For 4 tacos it was $12 so I'm paying almost $3 per taco you would think each would come with its cilantro and onions and lime nope they charge everything separate so had to pay $1 for salsa doesn't come with tacos and pay for extra limes didn't even get one for each one so the food was good but way to expensive just for 4 tacos. Who knows if I'm hungry enough and to lazy I might stop by again. But if in the area I'm going somewhere else.

Overall, everything was just alright. The food was mediocre, the margaritas had a weird aftertaste, and I've had better tostadas elsewhere. These tostadas had tasteless beef and nothing special about the cheese, just regular store bought cheddar cheese. The service was probably the best part about our entire experience even though the food was delayed and it wasn't even busy.

Food is always amazing but as per usual the service needs some major help. Waitresses are all over the place, have to flag whoever you can for lemons or more napkins. God forbid you need a refill, the exasperated expressions and sighs they make are so obvious to the customer especially the dark haired middle aged waitress.

Ample portions for a reasonable price, but bland in taste and appearance. Good in-house flour tortillas! Service was below standard from the waitress and the cashier. The cashier stopped to exchange texts with someone while checking us out. She did not greet us or look at us. Waitress never asked if we wanted more drinks. This was at 1PM, and the restaurant was not busy on a Tuesday. Not impressed. The Tipico's in Dallas is the one to go to for good food and service. This one should change the name or get a new manager.

Tipicos is a decent restaurant. The look of the restaurant gives an old school Mexican home. It's beautiful inside. Service is bad when the place is full but the food otherwise is good. The tortillas were homemade and the Menudo was good.

Spray waitress in my 44 years. Food was just ok. The highlight of your dining experience should never be the chips and salsa. In this case it was. Their NWHWY location is much better. I'll never come back to this location.

I ordered for take out around 1:00pm on a Wednesday I went to the one in Beltline Rd. In Carrollton . . And it's not the same like it used to be 7 yrs. Ago Food was flavorful and better service .. I go in and it's raining cats and dogs put my order in because their phone is not working to call my order in. I walk up to the cashier desk and no one there, I have to scoot to the side for waitresses to see me ... She finally comes over and asks if it is for here or to go and I said to go ... An $8.50 special came out to almost $20 due to a large Horchata which also does not taste the same like it used to, and extra flour tortillas which I regret getting, in a word everyone can understand chiclosas and undercooked ... (Chiclosas very chewy like gum) Well I know one place I won't be spending my money from here on is Tipico's ... Another Mexican restaurant that is across from them has way better food and their drinks are not almost $6.00 ... It's 1/2 the price for way better tasting aguas and for the same amount. Sorry but this food and place is not the same like it used to be.

The one off Northwest is better. This one is rarely busy and the staff or waitresses are hard to find. I did not see my waitress until it was time for her to bring me the check AND I had to ask for it. They just seem like I was in the way. They lost 2 other parties while I was there from the staff not serving properly or even acknowledging the party. It's just not worth it. Way too many issues.

My coworker & ordered $10 Burritos. And when I ordered over the phone I asked her if they came with rice & beans and she said no. So I told her that’s fine. I also ordered drinks. She then hung up on me didn’t even say bye or thank you. When we picked up the order the $10 burritos were Tacos! Usually the burritos are in a 12” tortilla this one came in a regular taco tortilla. My coworker went back & told the cashier that those were not burritos & she then said that’s the way their burritos are. When clearly on the website it doesn’t show like that. My coworker then asked for the money back for the food because the cashier girl was being told to her & was not understanding what my coworker was trying to tell her. I didn’t like this experience so now we have to find something else to eat because of this bad experience. I don’t recommend this place.

We got the fajitas combo, (chicken and beef). We each had only one small piece of beef with a couple of crumbs and 2-3 pieces of chicken that were like eating rubber. They brought out 3 flour tortillas for the two of us to share, and when we asked for more, they unchanged us. All the while, we noticed that all of the other customers, especially the Hispanic men, were getting plates loaded down with food. Before anyone gets excited, I am not being racist just because I point out the obvious. When we first discovered this restaurant it was fabulous. Great food, service ect.., but not anymore. They are not very attentive and acting as if we were interrupting their conversations with the lucky guys getting healthier portions. I am very saddened to have to say good bye to this place but excited to go on and experience a different Mexican restaurant in the area as Dallas Ft Worth has such an abundance of top shelf and excellent Mexican restaurants such as El Paisa.

Restaurant use to be a good place. They blacked out the prices on the menu, so they charge you whatever they want. We got a Menudo bowl, and two tacos plus two sodas. Total was $35. Ridiculous. Restaurant was also very hot in there. When asked to get a detailed receipt, was told no. Won't be going there ever again. To many great Mexican restaurants around the area that are easy better in food, service and pricing. And won't hide their prices.

My favorite place disappointed me yesterday. I've been eating at this restaurant countless times for years. I got charged for LaCarte Chips that i did not order. Ordered 1 tea and 1 Dr.Pepper got charged for 3 teas and 2 Dr.Peppers. Waitress hardly came to table had to flag her down everytime. They add gratuity to your check then ask if you want to give more when paying out. Spent almost 60 bucks for flauta plate and Al Carbon tacos plate. Wasn't happy with the visit.

Not the one to ever leave negative reviews. I ordered ground beef tacos here and unfortunately the meat was undercooked and still red inside. Instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, I was told I was lying and that ‘they checked and it looked cooked. Undercooked meat is a serious health risk, and the way this was handled showed a lack of care for customers. I won’t be returning and hope they take food safety more seriously moving forward.

I have been enjoying Tipico's since I moved to Dallas in 2008! Yesterday was a letdown. This location ONLY has minimized its food proportion tremendously, and this IS NOT the first time I take notice. This is a restaurant I visit often, taking my friends and family given the opportunity. This visit didn't go as usual. I ordered the fajita plate and got four very thin slices or beef and 5 of chicken. I didn't get the usual lettuce, pico, guacamole, and sour cream. They simply loaded the plate with rice and beans. I mentioned my concerns to the waitress, and she simply apologized. I was not going to pay for the plate and went to go to the counter to speak to the gentleman (assuming he was the manager). He seemed unphased about the situation, and I simply walked out. Fortunately for me, Tipicos has two locations! I simply drove to the next location for a better experience and a much better plate!
