Coastal Curries of India – Affordable Prices, decent Taste can give it a try I’ve visited Coastal Curries of India a few times, and it’s a decent spot if you're looking for affordable Indian coastal cuisine. The restaurant is located inside Bharat Bazar grocery store in Sunnyvale, operating as a kitchen with a seating option—so don’t expect a fancy setup, but it gets the job done. They have a wide variety of options, including chicken, fish, prawns covering everything from appetizers to curries, Tandoori items including chicken fish prawn , Thalis (lunch & dinner), and even dosas with meat options like chicken and mutton. Dishes I Tried: Special item Paya with Parota – the taste was very good and worth trying. Salmon Fish Tawa Fry – Very good, and surprisingly less expensive. Chicken 65 – very good freshly made and crispy One major plus point is that they prepare everything fresh, live—which adds to the overall experience and quality of the food. If you’re Indian food on a budget, this place is worth a try may satisfy your expectations Great for fresh, affordable meals
What a find! We have been going to Bharat Bazaar for years, but we stumbled upon Coastal Curries in there and were completely blown away—this place is a rare find! The standout dish that absolutely stole my heart was their avocado jhaal moori. What an incredibly creative take on a classic—flavorful and fresh. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause after the first bite and go, wow. Everything else we tried was equally unforgettable: The mutton paya was rich, the tandoori chicken was smoky and juicy, and their tawa fish was beautifully spiced and tasty! And a special note to their ginger chaai—oh, the chaai! It was just like home!! Other dishes that I recommend - the sev puri, dahi batata sev puri and yes, the chicken kathi roll! We ended our meal with gulab jamun, and it was just the way it should be—soft, warm, and melt-in-your-mouth authentic. There’s so much taste in every dish here. Been there thrice already before this review..and twice, our agenda was avacado jhaal moori, but ended up having a lot more.. It’s not just good food—IT IS DELICIOUS!! Definitely going back for some of my favorites, and to try more amazing dishes on the menu! P.S. the space has also been revamped pretty well. Impressive! Also, love trying new things there- the bhajiya, and the chilli bhajji have been fun new add-ons!
Very conveniently located next to Lawrence Expressway and Sunnyvale Costco. They serve best Dosa in the South Bay Area though the restaurant is inside the Bharat Bazar Supermarket. Served 3 types of chutney and sambhar along with the Dosa and all 3 of them were excellent. I tried their Onion Rava Dosa, Vada and Vegan Spring Vegetable Dosa Owner of the store is very friendly. Definitely going to try other Dosas, & items such as Idli & Uttappam.
Tucked away inside a supermarket, this small and unassuming spot is a hidden gem. While the atmosphere is nothing to write home about, the warm service and incredible food more than make up for it. The porottha and paya are especially standout — flavorful, authentic, and cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving comforting coastal Indian food.
I recently visited this restaurant and had an amazing experience. The food was delicious, and the customer service was great. The menu offered a great variety of options. I went with the paneer wrap which was really good. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!
Absolutely delicious food, great service, clean place. The food tastes authentic, is rich in spices, and is well-balanced. “Paya”, one of their most popular items, is worth the hype. Their food is freshly cooked (we observed the “paratha” getting made in view). Highly recommended.
It was our first visit and their service is awesome & quick. Fantastic food and must visit. Good thing is its not expensive and reasonably priced. We ordered pani puri, Veg Thali, pop corn chicken, Kulcha. Must try their Avocado Chat. Definitely recommend and would visit again.
We ordered Chilli paneer. It was great menu cooked with fresh cooked ingredients (pepper and paneer cheese) and served with fresh made variety of sauces. The service guy (not sure he is manager) was very friendly and kind. Good food!!!
First time visit got tempted to the flavors and Tried their Tandoori roti along with Zafarani Panner tikka Appetizer Kakinada fish fry Would grade it awesome and yummy Taste is not just yummy and so fresh 🤩 Good luck to their Business and would recommend this place and their prices are great too 👍👍👍👍
Came here for the first time and definitely not the last. From all different varieties in the menu, I had to try my fav i.e Tandoori Chicken and Tandoori Roti and to be honest after a long time I had what we call tandoori roti ; not too dry and overcooked like papad rather soft and well done. Same goes for the chicken. Also, took a takeout order of Paneer Kulcha and Chettinad chicken curry Will definitely recommend you to try and am coming here again for sure.

The masala dosa was very good. Dosa had very nice texture and flavor. Sambar was amazing, very different from what I had before. Very reasonably priced. The mirchi bajji was still a little raw on the inside and was not as good as I expected. Staff is very nice, made sure to come to our table later to ask how the food was and get feedback. If I am in the area again, I will definitely order the dosa again to try it and the Sambar!
I had idli for breakfast here today for the first time and I loved the taste, prompt service and the quantity of food they serve. I was fully satisfied and will definitely visit again.
Went for lunch on Friday. was not crowded and got food in few mins. Idlies were hot and good. Chutneys and sambar I liked it. Best is this podi/spiced powder which they make inhouse. Would go again.
I have been to this place three times since they have opened. Tucked inside the Indian grocery store, it has the ambiance of a hole in the wall. But I found the space to be relatively clean, quiet and comfortable. At the times that I have been there, there was no wait to get a table. The food arrived promptly and the server was courteous. It has now become my favorite place for my vegan meals. The food is very good, reasonably priced and service is consistent. I will be eating at this establishment again soon. A good choice for vegan / vegetarian fast food in Sunnyvale.
Their pani puri stall is a hit!! The person serving the puri is amazing. He is soft spoken, courteous and makes excellent pani puri. 5 stars overall.

Tried the Mooli Paratha and Paneer Uttapamboth were excellent. The coconut and tomato chutneys were especially flavorful, and the raita was spot on. A true hole-in-the-wall spot: no frills, just great food.

Idli was ok, but vada did not give the authentic taste. Its inside Bharat bazaar grocery store. Service is quick and courteous and it’s more like fast food ambience.
A new restaurant with a great selection of dishes from across India. It’s also reasonably priced. I’ve only tried a couple of dishes but they were delicious. It’s located inside Bharat Bazar - easily accessible from Lawrence Expressway. They have a small seating area as well to dine in.
They had a very nice complimentary tea. I came around 9 and had finished my dinner before but the menu sure looks tempting. Haven’t been able to review the food yet

I recommend this place for a quick breakfast stop. We ordered masala dose, Rava masala, idly vada. it tasted really good. Dosa and vada were crisp and good. Coffee was excellent too

Saw this newly opened restaurant and menu seems to very tempting, even though we had got our dinner ToGo but wanted to try something from this store. I had order Aaloo Kulchha, but it was extremely disappointing couldn’t even eat it. It was very thick, stuffing was unevenly spread and slightly undercooked (bit doughy).

Don’t recommend… I don’t know if I caught them on a bad day or if this is due to the new management that took over… we came here seeing the 4.5 stars but was really disappointed :( We had ordered sambar and podi idly for breakfast. For the sambar idly, We got a very dry probably day old idly with sambar on the side. The coconut chutney was very cold (just pulled out of the fridge). Overall the taste was very meh. For the podi idly, we got the same idly with podi on the side with sunflower oil for the podi. This was very weird. The cooks and servers definitely did not know what the sambar and podi idly dishes even meant. The ginger tea was really bad as well. I won’t be going back and don’t recommend it. The restrooms were really badly maintained and unhygienic. :(
