We stopped by after a graduation ceremony and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. The food was absolutely fabulous—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. We also appreciated the selection of alcohol-free mocktails, which were creative and delicious. The atmosphere was warm, calm, and peaceful—a perfect setting to relax and celebrate. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a welcoming and serene dining experience.

Came for happy hour, found the fish to be high quality and the value of the happy hour to be great! Great vibes as well!

Amazing atmosphere, food, and drinks. Love all that they offer. You can even karaoke! You can book a private room if you’re looking for a place to celebrate anything!

Ramen was acceptable. Soft shell crab was pretty good, made up for ramen. Roll was pretty good. Drinks were good. Overall, good.

An old SF favorite, family ran by award winning bartender Derrick Li and his wife Vicky, they offer great service and are always friendly and very attentive. Their bar offers a wide whiskey selection and rotating specialty cocktails (definitely try out the Kouma). Food wise I highly recommend the gyu don, beef skewers, and dragon horse roll. They also have karaoke available and a private room for events.

If I could give more stars I would. The food is always delicious, the cocktails are incredibly creative and perfectly mixed, and the service could not be better. Every time I come here is a great experience. I honestly can't say enough good things about this restaurant. It's a hidden gem for sure.

Came here on a Tuesday night with my coworkers without a reservation. Great for large groups and it was walking distance from the grand Hyatt on Stockton. Very walkable and didn't feel dangerous at night. We had 12 people total. Food was good. Overall less than 800 for 12 people which is not bad. They had no issues with separating the alcohol bill for each person.

Incredibly delicious food and cocktails! The team here is passionate about quality and will gladly walk you through their craft cocktail list and how they invest in the individual ingredients for a well rounded drink. Food is ON POINT! Everything was wonderful and we're headed back to our new neighborhood favorite first thing! Open for 6 months, try out this new neighborhood gem!

Perhaps the best cocktail bar in San Francisco. Yes, better than Cold Drinks Bar or Trick Dog or True Laurel or ABV. Dragon Horse features cocktails from The Blind Pig in addition to drinks specific to Dragon Horse. Drinks: The bartender and owner, Derrick, is an award winning mixologist and it shows in the creativity, complexity, textural interplay, and balance of the cocktails. 10/10 across the board with no weak point in any drink. Loved the philosophy of showcasing Asian ingredients and flavors front and center vs. having Asian ingredients and flavors as the accent on the side. Every drink I ordered was spectacular but what particularly stood out was the Kumamoto's Sunshine, Greenland Pig, and Smoke Umami. Dare I say that the cocktails are underpriced at $16 for their quality. These cocktails are easily $30+ quality. But I hope they don't change the prices :) Food: Classic "food to accompany the drinks" setup vs. "drinks to accompany the food." Great karaage, skewers, and tatakis. The only slight con may be the location as it's on the border of SoMA and the not as nice part of SoMa.

Overall good value for the area. They were out of chicken gizzards so I got the chicken skewers. They were well-cooked, but had a strange, almost bitter flavor. The nigiri tuna was good.

When I came shortly after opening, I complained about a dearth of non-fried vegetables on the menu. A month or two later, the menu is much improved! Sushi, and ramen, including a tasty chicken ramen. (I'm always on the lookout for chicken ramen, because I'm cutting down on pork, which is present in most broths, but I still like the flavor of food, so I am suspicious of vegetable broth. I know, I just infuriated my audience, but some (but not all) vegetable broth is designed health first, flavor second.) The cocktails are great -- creative and delicious. Some of the best tasting and most unique I've had in a long time. The Smoke Umame is particularly good: savory and smoky. It reminded me of childhood beach campfire meals.

Ok but mediocre place, nice service, mediocre food, They have an extensive list of unique cocktails I didn't try. An ok option for when you have an event/movie close by. The gyu don was very cartilage heavy, but flavors were ok. The sushi and omakase were meh, with the sushi falling apart as we ate. Stick with appetizers like the tsukune and wings.

We stopped by Dragon Horse during a very busy week in San Francisco when a big tech conference was going on, so I understand they were probably slammed. That said, the service was slow we waited about 30 minutes for drinks before our server realized they were never actually put in. I rely a lot on Google reviews when choosing what to order, so I tried the Dragon Roll since so many people recommended it, and it really was delicious! I’d definitely order that again. Overall though, the experience was just okay. Between the slow service and how many great sushi options there are in SF, I probably wouldn’t go back, but I can see how it might be better on a quieter night.

Cool atmosphere, but food was just okay. Highlights were the zucchini skewers, shrimp skewers, and veggie tempura. Lowlights were the beef tongue skewers and the ramen egg (overcooked). Not sure how the sushi was. Pricing was reasonable for being in San Francisco.

Pretty lackluster sushi place. Kinda crazy it gets good reviews but it’s more of a “party” place. People come here to hang out, have drinks and “yell” pretty loud. If you’re looking for a place to party with your friends and have some lackluster, overpriced food, then it’s the place for you. Not coming back, sorry. The chicken meatballs tasted like they were processed out of a frozen box. The roll I had was very average, not very flavorful or having a lot of various flavors where you can actually taste what’s in it.

Mediocre food. A good late night spot if everything else closes down. The best item is chicken skewers. Skip the gyoza which is over fried and cauliflower which is overcooked. Hamachi kama and ramen are decent but not as good as a good Japanese spot. Didn't care for the beef tongue skewer. People must be coming here for the late night drinks vs food.

I checked the reviews here before coming, and it seems that recently the food hasn't been as good. The restaurant is brilliantly decorated, and the cocktails menu is excellent. We didn't have the best experience with food unfortunately, one of the tuna dishes we had to send back and it felt like the fried dishes (takoyaki and gyoza) were over fried or cooked in an old/dark oil. Sushi was good.

Let me start with the positives - the drinks were really, really good. We were big fans of the Onion Cream Cheese and Seaweed Mustard cocktails, both of which sound a bit bizarre, but had amazing flavor profiles. We also tried the Tomato Jalapeño, Guava Thyme, Smoke Umami, and Tea N Strawberry, all of which were very solid. The scallop nigiri was really fresh and the karaage & gyudon were fragrant and perfectly cooked. The hamachi collar was tender, but had some bitter parts (maybe from burnt bits that stuck onto the outside from the grill?), but overall, was pretty decent. My biggest gripe was with the service. It was a Monday night and wasn’t terribly crowded when we arrived. Drinks came out within 20-30 minutes, which is a bit slow but acceptable, but the first dish (gyudon) didn’t come out until 45 minutes after ordering. The 2 small pieces of scallop nigiri, which didn’t even require any cooking, took a full hour. We also ordered monkfish liver and hamachi collar and checked with the waitstaff 2 times on the status of our order because our food was coming out so slow. We waited 1.5 hours for these two dishes but they maybe forgot to put the order in or and never checked with the kitchen any time we asked about our food. When we inquired a third time, they finally checked with the chef and said they had run out of the monkfish and only just started cooking the hamachi. We ended up subbing the missing monkfish for karaage because we were starving. The portion sizes for each were also quite small and we had 4 people, so it was difficult to fill up on enough food for it to qualify as a proper dinner. We had planned to order more, but the food was coming out so slowly that we decided to just eat more elsewhere. Also because our food took forever, none of our individual dishes came out at the same time, so we were awkwardly left watching each other eat. The waitstaff was kind and apologetic when we mentioned how long it was taking, but the long wait times soured our experience. Such a shame when the food and drinks themselves were quite good.

A new sushi bar to the city with minimal items but a large (15) selection of cocktails that were good. As for the service, it was bad. 25 mins waiting at the table where it was not busy even on a Friday night and I had to get up and talk to a server. After placing the order it was another 30 mins before I even got my cocktail and warm sake, not hot but warm washed down sake . Not great, overall it was very basic rolls at nearly $20 per roll with bad service. I recommend another bar that has some experience working with customers and avoid this spot for your next night out.

Sushi was below average, especially in comparison to other restaurants in the area. The other foods were average. The fried foods had wet batter in the center so it was really off putting and a bit slimy. The cocktails are creative, but there isn’t a big selection. The service was extremely slow.
