Vibes are immaculate. Super cozy. Food tastes amazing. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. It was very wholesome witnessing the regulars and the staff greet each other by name. Bar seating seems to be very popular but the seating is very comfortable!! Food is inexpensive for San Francisco and it is delicious. I will be back!

The best hearty breakfast in San Francisco!!! Awesome pancakes! Eddie’s service and all staff there are super warmful, friendly and kind. If you’re in San Fran go to Eddie’s Cafe to have a memorable experience!

It’s a super nice cafe in the nice neighbourhood. They have some tables outside if you want to have outdoor seatings. The service was very nice. A Korean lady was super busy taking care of the tables. The food was great. We had the waffles, what are soooooo good, and some pork chops. Nice!

It's a very small restaurant, but food is tasty and the women that I encountered as servers were very friendly. I hadn't been there in years, but it's still the same. Food was delicious and just the right portion, even though I initially thought it was small. I really liked that they are clean too!! I will be back for more!

Really good breakfast. Very busy! Counter seating or small booths for 4 people. Servers are great—it has a homey vibe. Fresh ingredients! The fruit was seasonal and delicious. I can see why it’s so popular! Ended up being about $45 for 2 people before tip. There is a 4% credit card fee as well.

Eddie's was a suggested breakfast spot while I waited for my Dad to recover from surgery at near by Kaiser. Once I walked in, I was immediately greeted warmly by staff who sat me right away at the bar. It truly felt like I traveled back in time to an old school San Franciscan diner. The crowd was cheerful and the food was absolutely delicious. My compliments to the cook who grilled my eggs just the way I ordered them and the bacon that was cooked to perfection. The belgian waffle was golden brown, slightly crispy sprinkled w powdered sugar, which was perfect. Thank you Eddie's for the wonderful experience which put me in a good mood.

This place is simply the best. Staff is warm and welcoming, the atmosphere friendly SF, and the food is like the best homemade meal ever - tasty, fast, and ample. Such a great way to start the day.

I am suddenly missing it over here in Houston, TX. I went to visit Eddie's Café as a breakfast place that my cousin invited me to and I miss it so much. The omelets were so good, but what made me fall in love in this place was the service as well as the coffee being serve without asking. If I return back to San Francisco this will be my number one priority spot to get breakfast. The only thing is the space is small and it does get pack (or it might be because I'm from Texas where everything is bigger lol).

Stopped for breakfast yesterday while visiting my daughter in Hayes Valley. I was greeted with a warm smile and had engaging conversation with Ami while I enjoyed my breakfast at the counter. Delicious chicken apple sausage, eggs and hash brown. Great spot!

First ate here in 2013 and have talked about it ever since. Their bacon is a favorite, and everything else we've had was wonderful. Wonderful family.

Love Eddie's. I've been going here for two decades. Their food is solid and reliably prepared right. Hash browns are old school and done right and best in town. Prices are good. Great atmosphere and friendly staff that remember you and greet you warmly. This is the kind of homey neighborhood diner that's hard to find in a big city these days.

Popular spot with decent breakfast food. Wouldn't say the food was outstanding, but the place has good vibes. Wasn't a big fan of the sausage patties but they were ok. Eggs were standard, but the pancakes were great and I was quite full afterward. The diner is decorated with lots of SF Giants bobbleheads. 멋있어요!

Called in here after visiting the Painted Ladies in Alamo square and had a great experience. The staff are friendly, chatty and welcoming while the food is top notch. Good to be in a local one-off place rather than a chain establishment. Would recommend if you are nearby.

i was leaving boba guys with an appetite so i popped in for a quick bite. the vibe is great, staff is awesome and you can see they get a long. food is exactly what you ask for. very simple and made to order. it was super comfortable and yummy eats. (nothing remarkable i can’t lie but it’s good) the service was attentive and kind. it’s quite small but awesome if you love bar top diner seating. but what makes this place truly special; my bill was less than $40 for 2 people…. i didn’t know prices like that still existed. god bless san fran 😭

Fantastic little diner! Perfectly done bacon, delicious biscuits, fresh fruit with the waffles. Service was very kind, and the portions are generous, and it’s FAST! Love this spot.

Eddie’s Cafe is hands down the best breakfast diner in San Francisco. Family-owned and full of charm, it’s got that perfect mix of friendly vibes and delicious food. Whether you’re with family, on a casual date, or in need of a solid hangover cure, this place hits the spot. They serve all the classic breakfast and lunch favorites, and everything is made just right. I lived in SF for years and was a regular-on my first trip back, Eddie’s was a must-visit, and it did not disappoint!

Fantastic breakfast 🥞. The waffles were amazing! Everything was so very good and we were served with kindness and warmth. There's even real butter (get the biscuits!!!) Affordable pricing is just the cherry on top. We'll come back for sure whenever we need a simple, delicious meal 😁. Convenient for waiting for a charge up at the Tesla charging station at target. Tip: pay with cash if you can. I could come here a thousand times and notice a new detail in the decor each time. So fun.

They just don’t make ‘em quite like Eddie’s anymore. There is not a single fancy or pretentious atom to be found on the premises, just a straightforward, simple, timeless diner-style menu, a nostalgic sort of atmosphere, and a glorious completely random assortment of coffee mugs that, thanks to the hustling staff, appear to refill themselves. On the weekends you may wait in line outside, but don’t let that deter you, it moves pretty quickly, and you will leave this place full and content.

Very cute place! Good food, service & atmosphere. We visited at around 1 pm and got a table directly. We could see people in line after that. There's a max 45 min for the table and only free refill for the coffee.

Great biscuits! Next time I'll ask if I can add more than what comes with breakfast. The denver omelette was spot on. Bacon was chewy and not too salty. Pancakes were a bit gummy flavor was good. Tea was served in random mugs, charming but too big for the single tea bag offered. Staff was friendly and attentive, you could hear all the regulars and continuations of conversations. Great spot, worth checking out, but for me not worth hopping across city. Will be back when I'm in the area for something else.

Staff are very friendly, this review is not against them. My first time eating here, i get the grits because I’ve never had grits before. I open my box to a tiny portion of eggs and a massive portion of grits, no big deal maybe they are good? Grits are loaded with butter and they don’t even taste good. This review is not against the restaurant it’s against grits. What a terrible depressing invention. Very good service though for a busy restaurant. 👍🏻

When I walked in there was one occupied table, loaded with about 6 people. Having lots of fun and verrrry noisy. No problem other than I also had some work to do and needed some space between me and the fun table. So of course the waiter takes me to the table right directly next to them. I asked for a table on the other side. He was hesitant, I said I didn't want to disturb the table (thought that would be better than saying they were loud - they were just having fun) and there was no one else in the place. He was getting visibly upset, I decided to give him a moment to breathe and asked where the restrooms are. When I came back, I went to go to a table on the other side, a small table, he wouldn't let me go there. I asked if I could be on that side as I had some things to do and didn't want to disturb the other table. He stood there, now mute, wouldn't let me pass and wouldn't say anything. At this point, that table and the kitchen crew are watching. I'm thinking do I want to be involved in this? nah. So I said OK, I'll try another time, and left. Outside, walking down the sidewalk, I heard someone yelling You Lied. He'd followed me out of the restaurant and chased me down the street! I turned around and asked what is wrong with you - Do you realize what you look like? Why don't you just have a good day. Jeez, I'd just returned to work after having been out on medical leave for months and wanted to get a bite to eat but instead encounter this psycho. A thousand cafes in San Francisco and I had to pick this one. A big change from them having been honored in 2017. Sad to see a place go down like that.
