Avis sur Hyphy Burger Alameda
Definitely the best smashburger you can find anywhere in the East Bay. Reminiscent of some of the better LA smashburger spots. Fries were super crispy…fantastic. Line was long but it moved fast. Parking lot gets alittle weird cause some people parked however they wanted, but won’t deter me from going back. Great addition to West Oakland and the East Bay burger scene.
the food is honestly mid but down to keep money in the community and glad that there’s something open late out here. They were blasting two different playlists in the front and the back of the house, but you could clearly hear both of them in the dining room and it was a sensory nightmare until eventually they turned one off. I don’t care if it’s loud and I know it’s part of the thing but maybe just play one song at a time? also they package all food to go even if you’re dining in and don’t have trays. I had to squeeze ketchup packets onto the outside of the paper bag to be able to dip fries in it. Just little things that are an easy fix.
The bigger was little small for the price but great ingredients. Great flavor. I wish the fries were thicker so they would hold texture longer and not get so hard as they cool. My loaded fries did not have fresh fries. Fresher fries would have improved the experience
HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS PLACE! Good bang for the buck here! Double patty hyphy burger was off the charts; the flavor is on point with a smoky charred flavor, juiciness, cheesy and sweet grilled onions! No cappp, my new burger spot!!! This place has honest prices, you can get a combo meal with drink under $20 which is rare nowadays.
Great burger. Quick service. The you feel me sauce is top tier. Had a hyphy reunion in the parking while I was, that was cool but one cars music was a little too loud. Like 11 instead of 10. Otherwise valid Oakland experience. I will attend again!
Burgers are deliciously juicy. Not hella meat either. I ordered the hyphy burger’s little cuzn Burnout. New level👌🏽also I had their fries and homemade sauce, forgot what it’s called, but smackin. And for dessert a cinnamon toast crunch milkshake, which was koo ima give the other flavors a try tho. The atmosphere was lit the staff was all black✊🏽they even had the yellow school bus parked in the back. Music lit. The whole experience was🔥will be going back again, and again and…..Definite must try♥️
Food was OUTSTANDING. The best smashburger I've had and the fries were served piping hot and WELL SEASONED. I got the fruity pebbles milkshake! That orange sauce that comes with the meal is VERY FLAVORFUL. Service was EXCELLENT. I had a question, and it was responded to PROFESSIONALLY and KINDLY. They were playing the BAY AREA SLAPPERS which added to feel of the business namesake "HYPHY BURGER". Bottom line is that the food SMACKS!
Best halal burgers. You know when you haven't gone to In-n-out in a while and then you build it up in your head to be better than it is? Hyphy Burger is that delicious imagined version, but for real. The fries are seasoned. The shakes are the only shakes I like. And the burgers and the sauce are so good. Aaaand it's locally-owned and you can tell.
One of the few smash burger places in this wave of smash burger supremacy that actually gets nice and crispy edges on the patty. Music is a bit loud inside but it's very much on brand. Decent prices for probably one of the best smash burgers around (even over Lovely's and Lana's...and I love both dearly). Just happy to see an Oakland born and bred business kill it so soon after opening!
Hyphy Burger hits strong on flavor, vibe and value. If you’re in Oakland and in the mood for a smash burger with character (and you like your food seasoned boldly), this is a top choice. I’d give it probably 4.5 out of 5 — excellent burger spot with a few caveats (salt, limited menu, parking) but ones that don’t overshadow the overall experience. ❤️💙💛
Ok YUM! Smelled amazing on the drive home and I absolutely devoured the hyphy burger and medium fries. The sauce was awesome. Fries salty and not crispy/not soggy. Burger was crispy and smashy. I think my fave part was that it was not over-topped - 2 patties, American cheese, pickles and onions. No lettuce or tomato - just right actually. Workers were fast and efficient, it was busy!
My only disappointment was not having one of these restaurants where I live! I loved everything about this restaurant. I loved the 1950’s retro colors, the lights, and even the vibes! It looked like such a fun and happy place to work too. Not only was it amazing to look at, but that was also the best smash burger I had ever had. I wish I could go back all the time!
Went with some friends for dinner because they have a vegan burger. I got the loaded fries with pastrami and a captain crunch shake. Loved the shake and enjoyed the fries. I also tried some of the blueberry mint lemonade and was surprised by how tart it was.
This a great spot for late night food and if you don’t mind eating with a younger crowd. When we first arrived they weren’t playing any music but later on they did turn it on. Not sure if they only play music when it’s late. There was enough people inside where it was a bit loud because everyone was talking and because of the music. We went here around 9pm on a Thursday and was able to get parking right away. They have a parking lot with spots in the front and on the side. There was good amount of people inside and in line. We probably took around 10min or so to order. The place seems quite popular. They have one person at the register and then they also have a kiosk if you’re doing tap to pay. We ordered the hyphy burger, two shakes, large fires, and the biscoff donuts. If you want lettuce or tomato, those are add ons for an extra 50cents. The food came out in a decent amount of time after ordering but the shakes took a long time before we got them. Maybe about 15 min after we got our food. The burgers were pretty good! Has a good amount of sweetness from the onions and saltiness from the cheese and patty. The fries were also great. Taste of the fries is different from other fast food places. Peppered well. The shakes were about you’d except from any other burger spot. Theirs was on the thicker side tho so it was hard to drink through a straw. They don’t have a straight up chocolate milkshake- the closest is nutella or cocoa pebbles. I would be interested in trying their blueberry mint lemonade next time. Glad I now have a good burger spot to go to in Oakland!
My husband wanted to stop here on our way back from San Francisco and it did not disappoint! I had the loaded fries and he had the Hyphy burger. Both were delicious. He also ordered the Reeces Puffs milkshake and that as well was delicious. For dessert I ordered there Dubai chocolate donuts and they were covered in rich chocolate and Oreos!! 10/10 would travel up just to eat it again
Had the burnout burger combo with a vanilla shake. Burger was amazing. Ate it so fast, I wished I had another. Great flavor and consistency with the shake. They have a bunch of non traditional flavors for shakes. Next time we venture out of the box with a different flavor. Big Ups for the real shake straws. 👊🏼 Lastly, the fries were good. Had to eat them on way back to spot. Not sure there is any fries good cold. Great addition to the neighborhood. Keep West Oakland Money, West Oakland . Money.
HELLLLLLA good and HELLLLLLLA HYPHY. burgers are fully halal too. lowkey better than in n out, and the fries are actually good and seasoned. music is bumping, got all the bay classics on repeat; service is friendly. get there asap
Food was delicious. Fries were hot and crispy. Smash burger was fire.
Nice crispy patty. The sauce is what makes the burger slap. Fries are nice and tasty. A little expensive for what you get but it does taste great.
Hella Good . I went back for a second burger before I was done with my first one. I love the vibe and look of the spot. Super creative and Hella bay area 👌. Ive been 2 times so far and both times the staff have been cool . Definitely in smash burger top 10.

Hyphy Burger didn’t disappoint! The Hyphy Burger was cooked to perfection, fries seasoned just right, and that Fruity Pebbles milkshake was crazy good! The music was vibin and had everyone relaxed. Definitely coming back!
Lots of young people working there. Really good burger and fries. I get the burnout burger that has jalapeños... not too hot. Shakes are fun flavors. Enjoy the music and take s pic by the school bus 🚌
Want a funky oakland experience!!!! This is the place. Doggie friendly but loud and lot of sunshine. Enjoy 😉
AMAZING!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 Hyphy Burger is seriously that spot! The burgers are cooked to perfection — thin, crispy-edged smash patties with so much flavor packed into every bite. The “You Feel Me” sauce ties everything together perfectly, and the potato bun is soft but still holds up just right. You can tell they put real care into every burger. The fries are golden, crunchy, and seasoned just enough to make you keep reaching for more. And don’t even get me started on the shakes — the Fruity Pebbles one tasted like childhood in a cup. Everything just hits! What really makes this place special, though, is the vibe. The energy, the music, the whole Bay Area feel — it’s like the culture is part of the menu. You can feel the Oakland pride the second you walk in. Everyone was friendly, the service was fast, and the food came out hot and fresh. If you’re in Oakland and craving a burger that actually lives up to the hype, Hyphy Burger is 100% worth it. Great food, great people, and a vibe you can’t find anywhere else.
This place is incredible. New favorite burger spot in the town. Really tasty smash style burger that’s consistently spot on for a great price. I also love their French fries. They’re seasoned with pepper which is a unique take and I really dig it. Perfect combo meal and the staff is always nice and quick to get your meal out. I would recommend this place to anyone :)
Hyphy lives up to the hype 1000%. I would eat these smash burgers every day if I could. Salt and pepper fried that are super crispy every time. Milkshakes are incredible (way better than Shake Shack or 5 Guys) and come in cereal flavors which is so tasty and unique! Buy local, and you won't be disappointed.

hyphy burger opened riding on what has to be one of the highest levels of eager anticipation faced by any oakland eatery in recent memory. for this reason, it was destined to be at least a little controversial. if you're going to talk about this place, though, you can't just discuss the burgers themselves (which we will get to). you have to address what it represents to the community. i don't personally know local food influencer darion frazier, the owner of hyphy burger, and i'm not really familiar with his online content. however, it is immediately obvious that he loves oakland and that he was born and raised here. confession: i'm originally from minneapolis, but my family moved around a few times, and by the time i ended up here as an adult — right here, in the specific neighborhood surrounding this establishment — it quickly became the only place i've ever lived that truly felt like home. i spent a decade living so close to this spot that i actually waited to leave this review until i had finished moving (to elsewhere in west oakland, not particularly far), or i would have felt like i was doxxing myself a little. for years, all-star donuts & burgers occupied this building, and if we're being real, it wasn't the best, but it was there, and we all missed it once it was gone. everyone was wondering when something new would take over the building, and the idea that somebody local would be opening a burger place sounded like exactly what the neighborhood deserved. i really believe that is what has been delivered. the choice in name & branding, the music selections inside, the short bus — it's all quintessentially oakland. yeah, it's certainly loud and busy, but it's a takeout kind of place, so that doesn't really bother me & i'm not really sure who would want to sit and eat somewhere like this. the veggie burger is genuinely very good; it's cooked correctly with crispy edges. i do think that there's slightly too much going on with it; non-meat smashburgers work best when they are most black-bean-forward, but this is a common complaint i have that is not unique to this place. the toppings are fresh and crunchy, and the bread (for some reason the most oft-neglected element of a burger) is decent quality. the signature sauce is nice — nothing too special, but it's nice. a house-made spicier alternative could definitely put things over the edge, and i hope they do consider such a thing for the future. i really enjoy how thick the shakes are, and the cereal toppings are a fun theme. honestly, people have weird expectations for burgers (eventually we NEED to talk about the mostly-unearned popularity of in-n-out); some of the less positive reviews here seem to be from people who straight up didn't want a smashburger — if that's the case, pick somewhere else! my main apprehension about hyphy burger comes in the form of the fact that a lot of the appeal here rests on the prices staying reasonable, because this is not an elevated specialty restaurant; it's a better local alternative to larger chains, and it has to keep competing with them pricewise if it wants to stay relevant. so far, so good. i really hope it stays that way, because hyphy burger really is exactly what this corner of oakland had been waiting for. i don't question for a minute that the passion is there — recently, hyphy burger started selling mini donuts. i don't think that's a coincidence; i assume it's intentional poetry. they're so real for that.
Great place! The decor was cool, the staff was nice! The fries were well seasoned, the shake was fantastic; and the burgers were good too. My only complaint is that the burgers were really salty! Even so, they were super fresh and delicious regardless. Be sure to check them out!
I have been meaning to stop by and finally did after the Baller’s game. Being my first time I went with the standard Hyphy Burger combo. The smash burger was great.. good meat and flavors. Fries were fine and I am a sucker for sauce and they went well with their own “you feel me” sauce which reminded me of “Fry Sauce” type of sauce found in Utah fast food spots where I grew up. I also wanted to try a Coco Pebbles Shake but they were out so I went with the Oreo. Definitely will go back.. need to try the Burnout Burger or add the Pastrami option. Nice branding and decor with loud atmosphere.. tables needed a wipe down when I went.. but good vibes all around.

Hyphy burger was great 👍🏽 burger was delicious 😋 with the Hyphy sauce! Fries good too and fast & friendly service. Next time will also try the Stunna Shakes
Got the Hyphy burger combo, staff was friendly and service was quick! Fries could have been more well done, but I like mine a bit softer anyways; the seasoning is a plus. The burger was cooked thoroughly and tasted great, curious to try their other offerings another time.

Burger was tiny and mushy, it was like a White Castle if you’ve had that. Tasted ok but also not nice. It’s an extra dollar if you want lettuce and tomato. Fries obviously came from frozen and weren’t even hot when they came out. The atmosphere was kinda cute, but it was extremely loud and high energy music even tho it was 4pm and empty in there. It was kinda irritating, I prefer the music to match the energy at the time. For me you have to make a better burger than in n out if u want to charge more, and this isn’t it.
Burger was mid, fries were delicious. The sauce is straight up thousand island dressing. Service was fine, just normal cashier interaction. Wait time was about 15 mins for 1 burger and 1 fry. Restaurant was loud as hell and unpleasant to sit in.
This was my first visit to your establishment, and unfortunately it was quite disappointing. The bun on my burger was stale, as if it had been toasted and left sitting for an extended period. I was surprised that this level of quality was allowed to leave the kitchen. The tomatoes were severely underripe—hard, pale, and completely lacking in tomato flavor or color. While the flavor of the vegan burger itself wasn’t bad (I’m not vegan; I ordered it based on positive reviews), the overall sandwich was a major miss and one of the most disappointing burgers I’ve had in years. What stood out most was the lack of attention to detail and apparent disregard for ingredient quality, which is ultimately the core of my disappointment. When care and execution are missing, even a promising concept falls flat.
Food is nasty just nasty no flavor at all and that little flavorless burger by itself cost almost $11. I feel like because the name Heidi burger is on there. They think that entitles them to overcharge the people they claim to support our claim there from make it make sense if you’re gonna charge that much at least let it be good.
I was there on a Friday night and it was busy. Service was not friendly and it's very loud in the restaurant. Most people seem to take their orders to go. I had to wipe my own table clean. My burger was dry and overcooked but I ordered without the onions, so they might have helped it be juicy. I ordered a vanilla shake that was too thick to sip through a straw, but tasted good. The fries were cooked perfectly crispy and had a nice seasoning flavor. The 'Feel Me Sauce' was tasty. I would give them another try, but maybe at a less busy time of day.
Stopped by Hyphy Burger for lunch. I was a little disappointed with the food. I had high expectations based on the social media videos I have seen. Burger came out and the bun was cold. A cold bun just makes the burger not feel fresh. The burger was also smaller than I expected. The fries were okay. It reminded me of in n out fries. Dipped with the sauce, it was really good. Once you run out of the sauce, it isn’t as good. I didn’t like that it was 50 cents for each topping too. I thought a burger included that but I guess not. It’s $9 for just a cheese burger. $10 total with tomato and lettuce. Branding wise - I love it. Would be cool if they made merch and sold it at the store. Inside, the restaurant is loud with music. Good vibes for a party scene or a pregame for a night out.
I heard a lot of hype around this place and I find myself in Oakland a lot so I figured I'd give it a try. I had mixed feelings. For context, I dined in. The service was friendly. They let me try the blueberry lemonade before buying it which I appreciated. The wait was reasonable, about the same as in n out. The burger itself was excellent. Definitely a win for me. I really liked the crispiness of the patty and the jalapeno. My main complaint was that the restaurant's music was egregiously loud. Like louder than any restaurant I've ever been in. I couldn't even hear the orders being called. It made it quite unpleasant to eat inside. If I came back, I would only ever get it to go.
Went to check out hyphy burger after the concert, parking was limited. Ordered at the kiosk, there was plenty of seating but hella people crowded in the front of the counter, unorganized. Received a text that our order was ready then when I went to ask the associate he explained that I received that text when my meat hit the grill. Why am I getting a text when the meat hits the grill instead of when my food is actually done? Make it make sense, their systems still has flaws. Ordered a hyphy and burnout burger meal; honestly mid, needed seasoning, didn’t care for the sauce. The best thing about the experience was seeing the hyphy bus.
These Hyphy burgers are highly overrated. The meat was over cooked and tasteless. I prefer a nice juicy burger that has some beefy taste. The fries are not fresh and very ordinary. The place was busy and crowded and loud. Service was slow, but workers were pleasant. There were people just hanging out who were not eating or ordering. I probably won’t go back again. I hope the business thrives.
This place was packed, so I don't feel bad taking the rating down a notch. The burger was OK. But not that great. There are way better burgers in the Bay. And it's not cheap enough to justify comparing it to budget places. The shake was also mid. It is nowhere near as good as Lana's. Not even the same league. Another huge gripe was that it took 25 min to get one burger. There are two burgers on the menu, that's it!! The rate at which they were made seemed really slow. With only two items, I'd expect efficient production. Peeking into the kitchen, it definitely seemed really disorganized. I'll give points for it being lively with lots of people, cool music, and chill employees. But the seating etc was poorly arranged, and no one was cleaning the tables. Overall, I guess it's OK to try, but there are way better burgers and shakes elsewhere.

The food was overpriced. I found for the quality of the burger was lacking for the price. The patties were thin the pastrami was not deli quality. It's not that it was bad but it was just okay. For my dollar I expected more than l got, 35.00 ;2 burgers, fries and a shake. If it wowed me I would not have had a problem with the price. Mediocre food at a luxury price point. Disappointed overall.
Me and my daughter tried their food it's over hyped. My daughter loves burgers and she spit it out, I was so mad I wasted my money ( it's not for everyone ) I know. It's edible but not good. The meat tastes like the meat a lot of restaurants use for cheese steaks it has a peppered flavor. I know already seasoned meat and to charge for that meat specifically is crazy. The service is pretty good very attentive. It's clean on the inside and out just wouldn't go there to eat.
Does not do chocolate shake Shakes just vanilla base with Nutella or cereal And Nutella jars less rich than past if correct. Did not know they have donuts. Does not let you buy less. Minimum 6 donuts I think which is lot. Though they look small. Cinnamon Toast Crunch sounds best but just cereal topping. Biscoff looks better than sounds. Even if again can just buy your own. Can put in shake but have to pay additional.
