This is one of my favourite places to go in San Francisco. The staff are amazing, the food is delicious, a great place to bring your family and friends, highly recommend ❤️
Very welcoming vibes. Everyone in the staff is great. Pints of Guinness makes everyone happy.
The decor is perfect, the staff is friendly, and the vibes are immaculate. There's occasionally live music which is a good touch for an evening out with friends.
my girlfriend and i were visiting San Fran for the first time. We were visiting chinatown and happened to walk further down from it and discovered this irish bar. The beer was amazing!! But mostly the service is so fantastic. Ger was an amazing person to chat with and he’s from Ireland which was really cool. He was very very sweet and patient. and ran the whole bar by himself. We loved it so much we came back during our trip and had an even better time!!! ps Ger, did you think we were cool? lol. ALL PRAISE TO GER!!!!
Stopped here while in town for a conference to catch a couple hockey games over a drink. This really is a great Irish bar and highly recommended. I ended up getting the Shepards pie, which came out PIPING hot and it was very delicious. I was quite surprised when it was delivered with actual HP sauce, nice touch. Drinks were great, staff were STELLAR. Multiple TVs, so we all got to watch what we came for.
I would have to say, as an avid traveler and a person who loves Irish Pubs, this bar is my favorite Irish bar! If you are in the area of San Francisco I strongly recommend that you go to the Irish Times, you will not be disappointed! the food is amazing, the drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is out of this world!!
Came in with our pup and we were welcomed as if we were neighbors. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. The service was friendly and quick without feeling as if we were rushed. The food was delicious, we ordered the fish and chips as well as the buffalo chicken sandwich:FIRE came w/ curry fries and needless to say I was very happy. Feels like just our local watering hole in the middle of the big city. We'll definitely be back! Did I mention this place is dog friendly 🙂
I’m giving this pub 5 stars even though I can’t comment on the food. I came to try the Guinness. The fact that it was a 2 part pour was impressive as have been in a few other bars in SF that didn’t do this. I took a little video of the pour. It you’re after a good Guinness in SF this should be your first port of call.
We did Alcatraz, hit City Lights Books, and then we needed a bathroom and a drink, in that order. We had planned to have dinner in Chinatown, but Irish Times stood out in a quick Google search and was within a 9 minute walk. We thought it would be a bathroom break and one adult beverage, but it turned into dinner. Food was very good, and the food and drinks were the most reasonably priced we had come across during our visit, but what stood out was the much overworked gentleman behind the bar who doubled as our server. The man was a gentle giant and very accommodating. He went above and beyond. Made me a fantastic Old Fashioned. Great find!
Very solid Irish bar - as you would expect it to be. Loud, busy and crowded. Service is attentive and has a sarcastic note to it - as it should be in a place like this. I was surprised by the variety of cocktails with an Irish twist e.g. the Irish mule. They had live music one night when I was there, made it even more Irish ;) . Overall good recommendation for a sports bar & grill.
During our visit to Irish Time in SF, we decided to follow our server's recommendation and ordered their Guinness in a glass. And let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing! The server's advice was spot-on. We originally planned to order a pitcher of Guinness, but the server informed us that Guinness poured in a glass would provide a better taste experience. Trusting their expertise, we took their suggestion, and we're so glad we did. The Guinness in the glass was exceptionally smooth and flavorful. It surpassed our expectations, leaving us thoroughly impressed. In those establishments, the Guinness often had a bitter aftertaste. However, at Irish Time, the Guinness in the glass was a true delight, and it's no wonder they've perfected the pouring technique. Aside from the remarkable Guinness, Irish Time also offers a welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. The staff was attentive and helpful throughout our visit, contributing to a positive overall experience.
The Irish Times in San Francisco is the kind of spot you go to when you want things easy and unfussy. The vibe is laidback and welcoming—no pretense, just a solid neighborhood bar feel where you can settle in without feeling rushed. It’s comfortable whether you’re stopping in solo or meeting a couple of friends to kick off the evening. The fish and chips are a standout. The portions are large—properly large—so you won’t leave hungry. The fish comes crisp on the outside, flaky on the inside, and the fries hold their own. It’s the kind of plate that pairs perfectly with a pint and makes you glad you ordered food instead of just grazing on snacks. The restroom meets basic code standards and gets the job done, but on a packed night it can feel a bit stretched thin. Not a dealbreaker, just something to keep in mind if the place is buzzing. Overall, it’s a good stop for a quick pint of Guinness before heading somewhere else. The pour is solid, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s an easy place to start—or briefly anchor—your night out.
the service is very slow in the hall there are only two people working, we waited for the menu for about 15 minutes then the food came and we waited for the check for about 20 minutes and no one came up to us! in this restaurant, if you yourself don’t ask anyone, you will sit and wait .... no one offered us water initially and we had to wait for some time to catch the waiter and ask for water. they also don't have a drinks menu, or rather, it is on the wall ... on the positive side - they have a good bartender woman, she told us about the drinks and made them pretty quickly. Very tasty food and drinks that could not but please. As for the atmosphere, the hall and restroom are quite pleasantly decorated. the women's restroom was clean and decorated with beautiful paintings.
We stopped in here while traveling last week to see the UFC fights. It was basically standing room only. We sat with a guy that was kind enough to share his table with us. We were not waited on after being here for over an hour and tried multiple times to flag someone down or get a drink at the bar. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed.
