Friendly service. Good portions. Fresh fish. Nice place. Oh to address other reviewers observations on temperature - the sushi was cool to warmish, which is how its supposed to be so that theres some slight fat rendering. You dont want it too cold,
Good ramen with the best eggs I've ever had, next time will order extra! Fantastic sashimi, super fresh and generous pieces. Chicken katsu, tempura, everything we've tried here has been delicious. New favorite spot to go to with friends, music has always been really fun and unique too!
My go to restaurant by the Oakland Airport! This place is legit for rice plates, sushi, and rolls. My friends and I were very impressed by the portion, size, and quality of the food. The service was excellent and they even have a giant TV to watch sports! The restaurant is a little small and parking can be limited on the lot but worth the wait.
Quaint, clean, friendly, delicious. Their fish is excellent (don’t shy away from their nigiri/sashimi) their rolls are well-crafted, and their appetizers are on-point. Found my new sushi joint. Excellent medium-tier sushi bistro at reasonable prices. 👌
Is my 1st time I been there and boy I got to say this is a place if you're looking for good ramen creamy broth the egg on point the noodles firm, packed with flavor best I even had so far , costumer service on the best, sushi we got was the lion kind and it was delicious hands down 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘 10🍜 out of 10
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and fantastic service. The sushi was incredibly fresh, with every roll expertly crafted. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was stunning. The ambiance was relaxed yet chic, offering a comfortable space to enjoy a great meal. I'll definitely be back for more!
Great recommendations and awesome staff :) Jace was literally an Angel and gave us the best service. We came in late and still had an amazing time. Highly recommend coming in on a weekend and getting their robata!
First time coming to this restaurant and it’s really cosy and nice inside. My family had ramen and I had the bento lunch set with saba, sashimi and California roll - it was all really good. The egg in the ramen was perfect - marinated with the runny yolk - yum! They were super kind and offered us extra soup and a lovely mango dessert for the kids.
Kigawa Bistro in San Leandro. Very nice place; romantic vibe, very delicious food, friendly service, & good price. Must try if you are in for a good time 😃. #kigawabistro
This place is so wonderful the people were so sweet this spot is a hidden gem 10/10 would come here an again the culture is so beautiful and the food was so good.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kigawa Bistro, and my experience was nothing short of amazing. The sushi was incredibly delicious, with each piece showcasing the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The flavors were perfectly balanced, making every bite a delight. Beyond the exceptional food, the warm and welcoming atmosphere truly made the experience memorable. The staff greeted me with genuine friendliness, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. Their attentive service throughout the meal only added to the enjoyment. Overall, Kigawa Bistro offers a fantastic dining experience that combines delicious sushi with top-notch service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in a warm and inviting setting. I will definitely be returning!
I had a to go meal here and it was delicious. Tasty flavors and freshly prepared the meal was pretty good.
Came into town on a fishing trip and saw this place driving down the road. Came in an hour before close and was completely empty which made me a bit hesitant. Got seated and ordered. To my surprise the food was pretty damn good. One of the top sushi places I’ve been to. Nice aesthetic cozy place to eat. Service was great as well. My server was very nice. Will definitely stop by again when I’m in the area. Pics below: 1. Spider Handroll, (nice and crispy, could use more a bit more sauce to balance the heaviness of the fried soft shell crab, still really good tho ) 9/10 2. Chirashi Don Bowl, (Tuna, Salmon, hamachi, and some unknown white fish I believe) they use real BLUEFIN tuna btw most sushi places serve the cheaper blackfin tuna which isn’t as good in my opinion. Comes with a bowl of rice. Super fresh and plated very neatly. Only downside is the slices weren’t as thick, but they weren’t small either, they were perfect bite size but I do prefer thicker slices. 9.7/10 3.Bento Box (chicken teriyaki, tempura) chicken was juicy and flavorful, tempura was light and crispy. Comes with salad and soup. Solid dish 10/10
This was exactly what I was looking for. The food is excellent. Lots of great flavors and textures going on here. Good sized portions too. Very nice crunchy texture on the tempura. Stayed crunchy even as it cooled. Good variety of shrimp and veggies. The chicken teriyaki was marinated so the flavor was all through the meat. Moist on the inside, nicely seared on the outside. A big portion makes it a great main dish for the bento. The side salad was even made of real greens, not just iceberg lettuce. House dressing was enough to cover the salad but not smother it and leave the bottom half swimming in dressing. Actually a nice refreshing side. The ramen tastes as good as it looks. They will adjust the spiciness if the broth to your taste or leave it out entirely. Topping are great. I always appreciate a perfect medium boiled egg. No complaints whatsoever. I wanted some delicious Japanese food and that is exactly what I got. Everything was beautifully cooked and seasoned. I was very happy with my meal. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Japanese cuisine. I will be back for sure.
I have to say this is probably my new favorite spot for sushi in the bay. It’s in a cozy little house style place with few tables on the inside. A great spot for friends or family. I’ve seen some reviews saying there are basic rolls here and I couldn’t disagree more. If you order the basic offerings than you can expect basic… But their special rolls were phenomenal. The Gymnastics roll is crafted well and it’s fun to pick a part and share. Has ‘mixed fish’ in it which seemed to be cooked tuna and hamachi! Very good. The Honey Walnut roll was really fun and delicious as well :) Don’t sleep on the garlic edamame and the squid karagge. the edamame had amazing depth of flavor and wasn’t just your average bowl of steamed and salted edamame. The squid karagge was crunchy, lightly salted and came with a good dipping sauce, the fry on it was perfect and not boring. Overall this place is really good, don’t let bozos who don’t know about food tell you different
This was a very good experience. The food was great and the atmosphere was nice. Overall if I could I would give this more than five stars ⭐️
Kigawa Bistro is an awesome little spot for fresh and delicious sushi. The restaurant is a bit on the small size but the atomosphere is very nice. The portion and quality of the sushi was fair and reflects the price-point.
Ordered a few dishes including black garlic ramen, sushi combo and 15 pcs of sashimi. They all tasted so good. The fishes are so fresh.
This is a very nice place the food is good, the atmosphere is good, and it has an overall really good feeling. The ramen was very good and it was very friendly. I recommend the black garlic ramen because it has so many flavors, and it tastes very good.
Me and my buddies always come here for drinks and the sashimi boat. It's awesome. Superb service!

Don't miss out on this place!! Delicious food and drinks mixed with excellent service. Tina and the rest of the staff do a wonderful job creating a great experience based on high level of skill, and fresh ingredients. You won't be disappointed.

Did a little pit stop and found this place convenient. Parking isn’t bad but we beat the lunch rush. Great service and not ridiculous prices. We didn’t get to try the ramen but our choices of selected special rolls and appetizers did not disappoint us. We will come back!
Ordered the chirashi bowl and about half an hr for the food to arrive. The portion of the fish was on the smaller side, and the rice was a bit too vinegar-y. There was only 1 server managing the entire restaurant.
The food was amazing! But with 8 rolls and 4 apps you only give me 2 chopsticks and 4 Soy sauce packets...... would have gave 5 🌟 if they didn't cheap out.
We arrived for dinner on a Monday evening and had to wait a few minutes for dirty tables to be cleaned up before being seated by a lady. We were placed on the other side of the counter, and promptly ignored for another 15-20min. :( Ultimately, another couple who arrived after we did had their order taken first, which was a bummer. Another employee (a man) eventually took pity on us and grabbed our orders, but apparently didn't seem too familiar with the market pricing ("MP") of some of the fish (specifically, neither "uni" nor "toro" have their prices listed on the menu) and informed us that the uni would be $22/$24 for 2 sashimi depending on whether "San Babara" (per the sign, but I'm assuming from Santa Barbara) or "Japanese" in origin, and that the toro was $15. With this information, we ordered a Chirashi Don ($23), a Hamachi Don ($23.50), and a toro sashimi. For the most part, we loved our fish! It came served atop a bed of ice to keep it nice and hydrated. The hamachi was a winner, as well as the tuna in my chirashi. The salmon was decent, but the amberjack and other white fish in my chirashi were a little more chewy and just OK. We still felt a little hungry after our bowls, so we added on an additional Dragon Roll ($14.50) to fill up with. Texture was good and the flavor wasn't anything to write home about, but decent and filling overall. We love fish and enjoyed our meal, but were disappointed to find at the end that we were charged $16 and change for our toro sashimi, with the staff adamant on not honoring what they told us before. Ultimately, this price difference wasn't killer, but it was still a bit of a disappointment in our experience of this joint. At least the lady came by often to fill up our tea after we'd gotten our orders, I guess. I'm not sure if service is hit-or-miss on different occasions, and whether our one server was just one-off uninformed, but I'd probably give them at least one more chance for their tasty fish...
Been here twice. Food is delicious and price is reasonable for the portion. The place is clean and there are plenty of parking spots right outside the restaurant. Just be aware that 18% service charge is automatically applied to the bill.
I am tourist here and this was the nearest sushi place near my Airbnb. Food as good, the girl who served me was not warm at all. The moment I walked in she looked confused if she should serve me or not maybe because I was alone. I loved the food. Green tea ice cream not so much. I wanted a bottle of water to take back to my Airbnb but they didn’t have any which is fine. I asked the girl where can I find a bottle of water near by “she said I don’t know” I paid my tab and walked out and saw hundreds of stores who sell bottle of water . Being a tourist I would have appreciated a little courtesy of just saying “ hey you can get water down the street” I wasn’t asking for much. But anyways I am glad I tipped her only $3.
Dropped in for a few rolls and really liked the food. I thought that each of the rolls we got were diverse in flavor and interesting. The restaurant is small and feels nicely modern and clean. I enjoyed the cpop music and natural lighting from all the windows. The service was okay, maybe a bit pushy at first. They close in the afternoon to prep for dinner I think but it did not appear to be the case on Google so thought that was strange
This place was just a happenstance for me and i really like the ambience right of the bat. It wasnt crowded and that's how i like it. Food: i tried the tempura udon, tamago, inari and all were amazing. I tried the cold sake sampler and was satisfied enough. Service: the staff were very polite and professional, they helped us choose right food for us and the food came out in the right order and on time. I don't eat meat and so I've already had all the vegetarian option they could offer, otherwise I'd definitely go back to this place. Or may be I'll just go for sake and some appetizers.

Cute little place. Food was really good. New place in Bay Area for Sushi
My children and I frequent this place because of the good food and reasonable prices. This last time, however, the ramen we ordered was not good at all. The broth was warm, almost cold even. It tasted bland, like it was diluted with hot water. The pork tonkatsu tasted old and gamey. The sashimi is always perfect, the tempura mix was ordinary, but these were ruined by the Tonkatsu Ramen fail. Might not come back. ☹️
Was recommended this spot for date night. There was one server when we arrived (right at opening) and she was nice, she came by making sure our water was refilled and took away plates as we finished them and as she brought us out the rest of the orders nothing to write home about but she did her thing. The food we ordered for the most part was really good but with some minor complaints and one big thing. The goods, the sashimi and Lion queen were delicious. The wagyu and uni nigiri was also delicious just the cuts of the wagyu weren't as clean (nit picky) for the price. The omakase has a great chef choice selection of nigiri's for the most part I enjoyed them all but found that some of the cuts of fish still had some bones in them. The temperature was on the warmer side and the shrimp weren't sweet like other spots you'd get them from and just tasted more like raw white frozen shrimp.
This is Chinese/Japanese, usually like a more "authentic" place but this place is real good. Bento box beef teriyaki had a sour taste for the sauce not really what I expect from teriyaki sauce but it was okay. Everything else we're good.
It was ok. Ramen wasn't all that flavorful. Lady there was really nice, and certainly meant well however. I do not believe however this place is worth going back to. It is a decent place, but I feel like if you're going to go here for ramen, you're better off going somewhere else. If you're going for General Sushi / Japanese food, it's pretty good.

Ordered the Poke, Fire Rainbow and Kamikaze for delivery and it arrived warm. Sashimi just don’t taste good unless the temperature is right. I would not recommend ordering any types of raw fish from here.
We ordered the Lobster Ramen, 8-piece Sashimi, Katsu Chicken, Vegetable Tempura, Lion King Roll, Kamikaze Roll, and Sake Nigiri. We arrived an hour and a half before the kitchen closed, and they were happy to seat us and take our order. The service was as expected, and overall, the food was enjoyable. The sashimi was fresh and generously portioned, while the Lobster Ramen had a rich, flavorful broth with tender noodles. The Katsu and Tempura were fried to a light golden perfection, and the rolls were well-prepared. However, I'm giving 2 stars because the Sake Nigiri was never brought to our table, though we were charged for it. When we asked, the server mentioned it was included with the sashimi, but it clearly wasn't, as Sake Nigiri is served over a mound of vinegared sushi rice, which was not in the bowl. Unfortunately, they didn't adjust the bill or bring out the missing item.
Let me tell you about this restaurant. I will go over the pros first The ambiance and set up is great. Led lights, tvs, dishes, cooking area, and painting style. Looks great. Parking was easy and great location. And that's all it's got going. Cons. We got our salad and soup fast. Then after 2 of my rolls of 3. And my brother beef and chicken teriyaki. But the last roll took 20 plus mins to get to us. A communication should of happen on the time. The design on the 3rd roll is beautiful and amazing. But, that's all it's good for. The roll was over cooked and didn't tell you what was in it. Just stating. Mix fish. Just give explanation of what fish. That's a misleading thing there. The rolls were ok but something you get at Safeway sadly. And my brothers chicken and beef teriyaki. Was bland and seem like they just threw salt and pepper. And overdid it on the teriyaki sauce. Overall it's a good ambience and good staff. The two things that they can approve on to make it better is there food quality and the communication to customers of if time will take on a roll to be made and they can surely make it up to a five-star restaurant.

I saw this place on YouTube offering their all you can eat menu and it got me really excited! However it became one of the worst sushi experiences of my life. I came in at around 6:30pm and I waited until 8:15pm for only the first round to finish! They even only limit you to 15 dishes at a time. The place wasn’t even packed. There were only 4 tables in use. On top of the slow pace, the sushi tasted really off. To the point that my friends didn’t want to eat it. The uni was bitter, the toro had tendons in it, and some of the fish just tasted off. However the fried chicken and the fried rice was good. At the end of the meal we had half fried rice leftover we didn’t want to finish and our waitress scolded us for ordering too much. I thought that was really rude and told her we have been here for 3 hours and none of the food was coming out, who eats continuously for 3 hours? Overall, a really disappointing experience. It just felt stingy and as a customer I feel a little cheated.
