Avis sur Pork Store Cafe Alameda
Had a truly epic brunch here with some friends. I will be back.
Update 2/7/2026: It is the minor details that count. The staff here are quite awesome; give us a small coffee while we were in line outside. Most of all, I like how the food taste. The toast comes per-buttered. The pork store special's ($19) pork chops have this smokey taste while retaining some moisture. It goes well with eggs and hash browns. We tried the eggs in a tasty nest $16 for the first time. This was good. Loved the sour tomatoes they put in. Of course, we also had the biscuits with gravy $4. So good, I was really happy eating this. Thank you everyone at Pork Store. Update 7/1/2023: The smog check for my Tacoma pick-up truck was due and I was in the neighborhood at Quality Tune-up on Fell St. Too bad their smog machine is broken and I went to the Pork Store because I knew they would be open early and I could sit down and find another smog check station. Although I wanted to try their other dishes, I often find myself ordering the same thing since everything taste better with country gravy. Biscuits and gravy it is. I mean, you wouldn't order biscuits and gravy and a cheeseburger?! That would be weird. In addition, their pork chops are just so darn good, it is hard to deviate. When I was taking photos of the beautiful biscuits and gravy, the young waitress recognized me from last time because of my Yelp photos. How funny. I've never had anyone recogize me before from my Yelp bisuits and gravy photos before. Regardless, the food was excellent. The chefs here know their brunch dishes. Better than their 16th St. location. Service was excellent. Good job everyone at the Pork Store. Updated 6/12/2022: Pork Store gets the Jeff H. award for best brunch spot on Haight St. The 2x pork chops were huge this time. Luck of the draw I guess. Last time, they were small. I arrived at 8:30am and no line! There's usually an hour wait if you come after 10am. My pork chops $14.50 were great. It had a smokey grill favor. Eggs were done perfectly and my hash browns weren't bad. The biscuits and gravy $4 were awesome. The gravy had lumps of meat in it. At these types of diners, I love sitting at the counter and watch my food get made. Service was excellent. Great job my friends at the Pork Store. Original review: Indoor dining 5/16/2021. Weekends are better with brunch! I love this location much more than their 16th St. location. The awesome waitresses are friendly and acts as though they are not at work here. The vibe is very relaxed. It reminds me of the diners I visited in the midwest where there's actual small talk between customers and waitstaff. There were tables available at 9am, but by 9:30am, the wait list was filling up. I had the pork store special with two pork chops. It comes with hash browns and eggs. I ordered gravy with my biscuits. The gravy is highly recommended. I soak the biscuits and then mix it up by dipping some of the pork chops in it. Sooooo good. Thanks Pork Store chefs and waitstaff for a terrific brunch! Now I'm gonna take a nap.
A classic diner atmosphere with a porky twist. Great food and service. I was promptly seated at the bar. It was nice because it’s right in front of the grill so you get to watch your breakfast being made. My breakfast quesadilla was incredible. Packed with flavour. Super filling. It was one of those meals I couldn’t finish but I kept picking away at because it was so good. Coffee is just regular drip coffee so don’t expect anything special. But it tastes fine and you get unlimited refills so no complaints from me. Service was great. My server was super friendly and quick. The person sitting next to me was a bit of a big personality and she handled things effortlessly.
A "typical greasy spoon" place with excellent bacon. I mean excellent. I also had some pancakes, light fluffy, and I swear a hint of vanilla. Great place.
Stopped by while on holiday in san francisco. Great service by keeping us topped up with coffee while waiting on our omelette. Would return to US just to visit here
Great breakfasts and great hang over cure! Staff is always gracious and efficient. Seems to be more tourists than I remember but still many locals enjoying their food. Try the Piggy special or the the pork chops and hash. Both great and sure to keep you satisfied until dinner.
Update: Was back first week of September and had breakfast and lunch several times. Was as great as always. My favorite place for breakfast and lunch in SF...! Update: Been already back several times in May and June when I was back in town. It was the same great experience as the last two times. The food is awesome and the staff the greatest I've seen for a long time. Will be back for sure in September...! ---- Were there twice during the last 10 days. The food is fresh made and absolutely delicious and with affordable prices. The service is very attentive and friendly. The business kept its charme from the good ole days. It's gonna be my favorite spot for breakfast and lunch in Haight/Ashbury. Highly recommended...!
I have been waiting to try this place out, lines out the door all the time which makes it more tempting. I finally made a visit, was greeted/welcomed in by their friendly staff and seated quickly without a wait. They offer both breakfast and lunch which is always a plus and I knew exactly what I wanted. The food and service was top notch, probably one of the best breakfast spots I have ever had. Very nice people with a uplifting atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a breakfast joint or just some where to be laid back. I definitely will be back to try out the other delicious options they have to offer.
Found this in google the night before looking for a tatsy breakfast option. I was skeptical since this place is in a touristy area but omg, our breakfast burrito was delicious. It was the perfect amount of heat and flavor. The service was super quick and looked like a one woman show. She was super attentive in filling our coffee and making sure our burrito was split in 2. I would recommend this place for sure!
They would prefer everyone in the party to be there before they sit you. Love the fact that there’s pork chops and other items like chicken fried steak on their breakfast menu rather than just the usually eggs and bacon that every other cafe offers. Food is really good and well worth the 20mins drive we made from the other side of town. Will be back again soon!
We grabbed breakfast here while on our visit to San Francisco. The food was fresh and very flavorful. I got the eggs Benedict with Chile piquin sausage it was super flavorful and spicy. The hashbrowns are cooked to perfection. I also liked the fact that I was offered a to-go box to donate the food I did not touch to the homeless if I wanted to as I was not bringing it with me. Overall great experience here and the staff was super attentive and helpful. I highly recommend checking this place out.
Great breakfast, many vegetarian options, fast and friendly service. The place needs to be cleaner though. The lady serving the food handles fruits, veggies and bread with no gloves and she has really long nails.
tl;dr: Hearty, classic diner brunch with a corned beef hash Benedict worth daydreaming about. Service can lag when it's busy, and the restrooms need some TLC, but the vintage charm and flavor-packed plates make it a satisfying stop for a leisurely weekend morning. If you are craving a no-frills American diner breakfast elevated just enough to make it memorable, Pork Store Cafe delivers. The corned beef hash Benedict is a flavor bomb with perfectly poached eggs over savory, crispy-edged hash, smothered in rich hollandaise. Portions are generous without being overwhelming. Service is warm but slow, especially when the place is buzzing, so this is better for a relaxed morning than a quick bite. Atmosphere is pure diner nostalgia with vinyl booths, laminated menus, and the comforting clatter from the kitchen. The restrooms could be cleaner and more accessible, but overall, it is a fun and delicious brunch spot for those who appreciate a classic American breakfast experience.
I have been to this establishment before many times but this is the first time I felt to leave a review. The server that took my order was lovely. I am assuming she is the child of immigrants based on her cut off sweatshirt. She was lovely. The reason for a 4 star review and overall 3 for the food was that my pork chops were not that amazing. They have never been and that is why I have taken so long to write this review. As a tip go early. There are less people.
Terrible avoid. Rude "service" and disgusting food. I ordered coffee and eggs in a nest what a mistake. The waitress decided to yell loudly about what I was putting in my coffee. Why?!? Who knows but be careful, if they don't like how you like your coffee they will serve you burned food. See pic. In fact, the waitress didn't seem interested in the pile of burned food that she threw in front of until I started this review and took a picture of her handy work. Burn toast and judgemental behavior what a great way to start a Saturday. Terrible. Well Mike the problem was the waitress and her attitude which you seemed to gloss over in your " response" . Thanks for the burned food and call out online. Why would I ever want to give you any more money ? Keep burning perfectly good food for people who drink coffee in a way that you don't agree with I'm sure that's what life is all about . As far as your food I'm sure if it wasn't burned it wouldn't have tasted so bad. -1 if negative reviews were possible I'm sure you have plenty.
