What a gem! Stopped in for a 6 inch Italian sub and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of this place. Staff was super friendly. Sub was top notch! A+. The poppyseed roll was fresh, meat slices to order, delicious overall. If you are ever in the area, this place is a MUST try!

Soooo good! My roast beef sandwich was huge and absolutely delicious! Been thinking about it ever since. I had avoided this place in the past because it always seemed grubby. Heard Tony took over and now it’s nice and clean. All the food looked fresh and delicious, too. I’ll be back very soon! PS: no photo because I was busy savoring every bite!

The best sandwiches in solsr system!

I am not from the area but was in need of finding a sub shop to deliver food for 30 players at a local lacrosse tournament. Lou the owner was absolutely fantastic to work with. Well….we got subs for the team and they smelt so good I had to shoot over and get a sandwich on my way home. I am so glad I did….the chickens parm and chicken soup was amazing! This place is a gem and if I am ever back in the area it would be a definate pit stop! Highly recommend!

For more than 20 years, Mama Carmela’s has always been our favorite place in town to grab a breakfast sandwich or lunch. So when my daughter started planning her wedding, she and her fiancé (who has also come to love Mama’s) thought there could be no place better to hold their wedding send-off brunch. We contacted the wonderful Tony and, although they typically aren’t open Sunday mornings, he generously said yes(!) and agreed to host a private party for us yesterday. We could not have wished for a more perfect event! Mama Carmela’s opened especially for us, made their famous bacon egg and cheeses and bacon egg and sausages (or any other breakfast made to order on the grill), had the coffee and OJ flowing, and laid out a beautiful spread of fruit salad, muffins, bagels, and pastries. Everyone who came LOVED the amazing food (which constantly lives up to its well earned reputation for best BEC around), but especially the warmth and coziness of this wonderful hometown treasure. It was the perfect ending to a sweet wedding weekend. Thank you to the amazing Tony and the wonderful staff who made it all possible. We are so grateful!

Went at like 330pm they were starting to clean up the grill and the store. Disappointed that it was too late to get hot food so i got a turkey and tomato on a roll and daughter got Italian combo on a wedge and her other half got chicken cutlet with a ton of bacon on a wedge. Super reasonable prices I think it was 5.75 for my sandwich. My sandwich and the two on wedges I think was under 25.00. Next time I will take pictures

This place is fantastic! My father goes daily for morning coffee and a sandwich. We stopped in today for a quick lunch, and the jerk turkey is a can't miss!! Frank is hilarious.

In my opinion it’s one of the best deli’s around. Chicken cutlets are done perfectly, bacon egg and cheeses are done right with tons of bacon. Allot of Deli’s slack on the amount of bacon and it’s all egg, which isn’t very good. This place does it right.

Just wanted to give a shout out to the awesome people at Mama Carmela's Deli in Darien. I was just on my way to a client's house and wanted to grab a quick bite. I grabbed some deviled eggs, a buttered roll and a soda. Went up to register to pay and realized I left my debit card at home and had no way of paying. Guys could not have been more understanding. I gave them the three bucks I had in my wallet and they called it even. That just speaks volumes about the great people that own/run the Deli. Eggs were great and the hard roll was as fresh as could be. Thanks again for having a heart. I'll be back to pay my $8 debt and get some more food. Kyle M

A tradition! My friends and I cycle all over Stamford, New Canaan, Pound Ridge, Darien, and more …and about half the time they insist that we stop at “mother‘s” (as they call it) before we head to our respective homes. We always get rolls with egg, cheese, broccoli rabe, and bacon …and pancakes …and coffee and it’s definitely heaven. Thanks for the warm welcome and fresh coffee every time!

This is a classic CT deli. You can see that they really care about their community and engagement with the people. The woman who took my order was very polite, the food came out quick, and was quite delicious. Just wish my cutlet was a little warmer but I think that’s just a matter of preference. If you’re looking for good eats this is definitely the place.

Ordered a turkey club with American cheese on wheat toast. Could have made a better Sandwich at home. It came out with three slices of turkey and only cheese- no bacon, no lettuce, no tomato. Not worth the $12 dollars and not what I would describe as a “deli sandwich”.

These guys are usually spot on and their food is amazing! Unfortunately this time around they forgot my hash browns on my egg and cheese and I was still charged for it but fortunately for them- I’ll come back! It’s that good!

We ordered from here through Uber Eats. The prices were not bad, especially for the area and the times we’re in, so we had decent expectations. Unfortunately, the food was a big letdown. Everything arrived cold, overcooked, and burnt. On top of that, it was salty but somehow still had no real flavor. I also asked for cheese and it was not added. Portions were smaller than expected for some of the items. We ordered one platter, two breakfast sandwiches, fries, and two drinks. The order included two eggs with home fries, rye toast with butter, bacon, and a sausage patty, plus a bacon egg and cheese on white bread and another on a hard roll. The hot chocolate was literally a cup of hot water with one Swiss Miss packet, which was surprising. My iced coffee came black with no cream included and it tasted burnt. Overall, the meal was not worth what we paid and most of it was honestly inedible. I really wanted to like this place because it has great reviews everywhere, so maybe this was just a really bad day for them. Still, based on this experience, I don’t think we’ll be ordering from here again.

Bought a 16 ounce container of orange juice and was charged $.50 for using a credit card. Pathetic!

Extremely rude. I called to get a quote for catering and they asked me to call back later. I called back later and they told me to call in the morning. The woman I spoke to was completely rude about so I said forget it.

The food here is good it’s usually really busy around breakfast and lunch. Ordered food over the phone today bc I only have 30 min for lunch. Didn’t mind that the line was long when I got there and waited about 15-20 to get to the cashier. When it was finally my turn to pay and pick up my order the cashier acted as if I didn’t exist and let 3 High school boys cut the line and then after proceeded to let 2 more cut the line. Last time I will come here or recommend this deli to any of my customers,friends or family.

Sandwiches are very poor for the price. They skimp on all the sandwiches and the chicken cutlets are very very thin slices. No flavor. Skip this place and go somewhere else. Waste of money.

My first time there and I was so disappointed. I ordered an omelette, they forgot the toast and home fries. Also ordered a healthy wrap and was given a black bean and pepper wrap. It wasn't like they were busy so there is no excuse. But they did make sure to charge me full price.

On New Year’s Day, I called to ask what time they closed. The person on the phone said they closed at 2:30. I ordered well before the order time through the website. My order was charged and when I got there at 2:20, I was told that the deli was closed. My order would be refunded and that I had to wait for the owner. I have now tried to call six times to talk to the owner and he’s not been in and I’ve not been refunded for my $55 order that I was charged for when they were “supposedly closed”. If you’re going to be closed, close your ordering window so that you’re not gonna have unfulfilled orders that are not being reimbursed almost a week after the order was placed. I am very unhappy and I do not want to have to submit this to my bank because this is unacceptable.

Should’ve known when I walked in and saw how disorganized everything looked despite barely any people being in there, that my food was going to be horrible. Paid $27 for a ceaser salad with no dressing and old lettuce , with a side of the soggiest rawest fries I’ve ever eaten. Either they are very selective with who they give good food to, iykyk or everyone has been lying about this overpriced disgusting place.

We had a really disappointing experience at Mama Carmela's Deli. The sandwich we ordered was just not good—it felt like they completely skimped on the ingredients. The panini looked more like falafel bread. For the price they charge, we expected something much better, but instead, it was overpriced and underwhelming. Honestly, it felt like a total scam. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Used to be my favorite deli but since new ownership the prices have skyrocketed while the quality and quantity have plummeted. Sandwiches used to be full of meat now they’re skimpy and not filling(see my pic, not sure where the meat is). It also no longer has that personal feel it used to have. I guess all good things have to come to and end.
