I spent the last 4 months working in the area and I would stop in 3 nights a week to have a drink, eat, and chat with the staff and regulars. They made me feel welcome immediately. The place seems to always be filled with laughter. I'm going to miss this place, definitely stopping by whenever I'm in the area. Food is great too! 10/10

Went for breakfast, the food was very good. I had a western sandwich- thick, cheesy and served hot. Server was very polite, quick service. The restaurant is clean and tables well spaced out.

I ordered for my family. The fries had waaaaay too much seasoning salt on them, couldn't enjoy them. My kids shared a poutine and they wouldn't eat them because of the amount of salt on the fries and in the gravy. My mom had a crispy chicken sandwich and she loved it! I had the grilled sandwich and it was perfect! My boyfriend had the hot wings and they were amazing! We will be going back to try breakfast sometime! Good service 👍🏼

They have great entertainment but lack staff for food. Generally the food is good. The Christmas in July meal was disappointing. Thin slices of cold turkey, a smattering of mashed potatoes and enough green beans to keep a toddler happy. The dessert was small squares of Nanaimo and something else which was too sweet even for hubby to enjoy. Their fish and chips are very good and I understand they do great pizzas. I don't eat gluten or dairy so the menu for me had to be a very boring iceberg lettuce salad with chopped chicken. An option of field greens would have been nice. There's practically zero beneficial content from iceberg lettuce so as a meal, it wasn't. Luckily friends let me eat their fries which at least held some calorific value. I do enjoy their band nights, open mic and trivia nights which bring the community together and are a lot of fun. I really want to say nice things as they try so hard that I wish I could give them more stars for just that. I feel for them when they get a boorish group of men in there who expect the best of treatment. I do want to play pool one day as they do have several pool tables and those playing have fun. The surroundings could be upgraded for a better feel. I'd like to be positively critical here because I do think the place could do so much better and be a very nice social hub for the community. I know people stopped coming due to the length of time it took to get orders in and food to the table. If they could get loyal, punctual staff they would do so much better. A note to those picking on staff, back off and give them a break, they can only so do much. If you're in a hurry, let them know. Otherwise, kick back and enjoy the entertainment.

I was passing by, and the only thing I found nearby to eat was this place. I decided to order pasta, which arrived an hour later… the place wasn't full… to wait so long and end up with no chicken, and the menu mentioned that the pasta came with chicken.

The menu listed a pretzel bun but the sandwich came out with a white bun. I had to go and ask a different server about it and she just checked the order, said “sorry the server put in the wrong bun” and then just stared at me and I had to ask them to swap it out. When it was brought back it was super cold like not just luke warm the bun was cold. After this we had no attendance to our table and we’re long done our meal before she came back to bring us the bill. We were the only table this server had so it was a bit surprising the lack of service. Side note the bathrooms were gross and very under maintained. A huge contrast to the beautiful decor in the dining rooms.

Drove to the French on Sept 11. Rented a cottage near by. Online menu was nothing like they had. After driving 7 hrs, we were tired and hungry. We sat and waited for a menu for at least 20 minutes. Got in at 7:10 and got our food at 8:25. We’re done.

When we approached her and asked for drinks we got nothing but attitude and were told the other girl would bring it and she huffed off. As this manager was talking to another table about their cold food, she was very rude when she asked if they wanted it made again. Then she told another table that the complaint box is in the back, have at it. At this point we got up and left. She rolled her eyes and gave nothing but sass to anyone who spoke to her. I emailed their website asking to speak to the owner to make a complaint but I'm assuming "Bri" the manager sees and deletes these messages.
