Just went tonight. Food quality are good. It’s a more Americanize Italian food restaurant. There are a lot of choices for pizza and pasta. I think the choice of main dishes are not enough. 1. I had the fettuccine with prawns. I think the sauces are very tasty. But the taste of shrimp has no surprise. 2 The meatball spaghetti is fulfilling, the meat ball is strong and solid. 3 Linguine with Calms is good, but a little spicy. 4 fried calamari is great
Looking for a bite to eat a little later in the evening than usual, I got a craving for pizza, and decided to finally stop by this place that I have slept on for decades. True. Even after closing in on 6 million views, and having reviewed over a thousand restaurants, I am sadly, or on the other hand joyfully, just now discovering Italian cuisine. Cugini, has an incredible menu of House made pastas, calzones, and of course, wood fired pizza. I ordered the Sicilian, with mozzarella and sopressata, and watched it sizzle next to the open fire, while I drank a glass of delicious white wine, recommended by my server, a Berkeley local who was super cool and informative and new her way around the menu. I generally have to be careful when I eat in the East Bay since it is a rare occasion when I do not run into 10 people that I know, and I usually end up spending more time talking than eating, which kind of gets in the way of my restaurant enjoyment, which is why I don't really eat very close to where I live that much anymore. However the place was thinning out, I was there last customer, and in the end had this beautiful place all to myself, with a delicious wood fired pizza, and ended my night with a cannoli, and a cappuccino. There are a lot of different kinds of pizza, and several different levels of quality when it comes to Wood-Fired pizzas, and this place is top tier. The ingredients all tasted super fresh, the atmosphere was great, and I intend to go back again. Highly recommended for people who want delicious, almost exotic tasting food, without so much spice, or without always depending on the local Asian restaurants which are incredible in their own right. The Italian thing is just a completely different vibe, and I'm glad I finally discovered this spot on Solano which until recently was a secret to me. Five stars.
The Staff @ Cugini really make you feel like family. Whenever we are in the mood for Italiano Food, No questions..... Cugini it is.
Everyone is always welcome at this fun neighborhood eatery. Owners Becka and Armondo make you feel like honored guests every visit and the chefs never disappoint. Difficult to decide on what to order because everything is delicious.
I highly recommend this Italian restaurant. If you’re looking for delicious flavorful food, cocktails, attentive and efficient service please visit this restaurant in the cute little town of Albany, Ca! This is a family owned, small business… which I will always support. You can see the hard work and dedication this family puts into their business. Date night approved!
Great little place for Italian. Great Calzones, gnocchi, and fettuccini. Quiet and cozy. A few tables with a street view. Excellent service and a very nice bar.
Just dropped in for a quick bite with the niece after a long day of hiking. It hit the spot. Chicken Limone was delicious especially the mushroom caper sauce. Have a reasonable kids menu, where my niece was able to enjoy a nice sized personal pepperoni pizza for $8. Service was great, will def be back if in the area.
Excellent Italian food in a intimate neighborhood setting. The eggplant parmigiana appetizer was great as was the pasta pomodoro. Dessert wise you can’t go wrong with the tiramisu. A+++ service
Really delicious pesto and calzone. Attentive service, nice house wine, nice environment and a lovely evening!

The food was great. The tuna salad was amazing. The service was exceptional, we had 4 different waiters coming to make sure we were doing alright. The acoustic in the restaurant is pretty bad. Felt like we had to yell to hear each other and the loud music did not help. The TVs are pointless and such a distraction. But the overall experience was nice. We may be back.
I celebrated my birthday here recently and was eager to try their risotto with ribeye, as this is one of the few places I know in the East Bay that has it. Got a table for 4 outside since I had my dog with me without any reservations or wait time. Complementary bread and balsamic vinegar and olive oil was brought out as a starter. My group had the fried calamari appetizer, seafood penne, crab ravioli, and pepperoni pizza. My risotto was excellent but the ribeye was minimal and a very thin cut. Everyone in my group was happy with their dishes. As a bonus they brought out gelato for my birthday. Prices are kind of expensive but their service and food was great. Will recommend and will be back to try other items on their menu.
Everything you'd want in a good Italian Restaurant - good food, good service, nice atmosphere and friendly.
My Chicken Parm sandwich was delicious. I picked up and took it home so I wasnt seated and served
Among the best salmon salads I have had. The service was excellent and the ambience bright and fun!

Wonderful lunch. Their bread is fresh and soft. Best Ive ever had. The waitress was absolutely amazing and very helpful. Definitely will return. Try the ravioli and the spaghetti!! The fresh fruit tart was ok, but the crust wasn’t completely cooked.
Yummy and great quantity. These pictures are of takeout at my home during Covid sheltering in place. In person it is even better.
Pricey but tasty. Happy hour menu has some good offerings but we ordered off the regular menu. Pizza was very good pesto raviolis were a hit risotto was delicious.

Delicious Choco lava cake! The Nutella cheeecake felt a little too sweet and low on quality.
Food is good. Has the clams and spaghetti with meat balls -delicious

Fries are reheated trash. Or just trash. Stingy, skimpty, greasy.. What a let down.

Home style is correct as in I should have made this food at home. It would have been much better and I wouldn’t have had to deal with how rude our waiter was. Best part of the dining experience was using the restroom.
The food here is so overpriced for what it is. The food had no flavor, service was awful. I have no idea why it’s busy. Huge waste of money
This used to be one of my favorite places on Solano or all the East bay. Since new owners the food has become so gross. My chicken parm was served in a soup of marinara sauce. Noodles stuck together. Food is so hot is has to be microwaved. Can’t keep draft beer hoses active. Wait staff seems overwhelmed by 50% occupancy and are completely transactional, zero love. But have time to do shots in the dining room w their friends. No neighborhood feel like the years past. Sad sad sad.
