Friendly staff, excellent donuts.

This place is great and the owner hilarious and personable. Try the BLUEBERRY fritter and the breakfast sandwiches (AM only). My wife swears they have the best plain glazed donut in town! Easy parking, seating, good supply of donuts in the afternoon but no grill food.

lovely local donut shop. they have all the classics covered, and they have special flavors too - ube is my favorite! they also have red velvet doughnuts and maple bacon donuts 😮🤯 very cheap, affordable, and most importantly delicious! the customer service is fantastic. they're warm, friendly, and down to earth.

I love this happy donuts, it's the best. The staff is always friendly no matter what time you go, but my friends and I usually go at odd early morning hours in the middle of the night, and the gentleman that works there at night is such a nice guy. Always a great experience there. Plus the donuts are awesome.

In California on vacation and found this donut shop on the way to brunch and it would have been uncultured to not bring something. Picked up a dozen variety and a dozen holes, glazed. These were just what I had wanted the whole vacation, perfect California donuts. As far as donuts are concerned the coconut was crisp on the outside with a soft, moist cake. Icing on the strawberry M&M and coconut were not overpoweringly sweet and firm enough to gold the toppings without spilling them as you ate. The glazed risen donuts are airy and round, not the greasy, sickly sweet things you get at krispy. Normally I would have gotten a lemon filled but today they were out so i will amend the review after i do. The only downside was that we had to leave most of them behind at the brunch but now we have plenty of reason to go back.

I've been searching years for a local donut shop that is comparable to my favorite from childhood. So happy to have finally found one. And if I'm being honest I may like this one more since they have AMAZING unique flavors like blueberry, red velvet and buttercream. Great spot and you can't beat the hours!

At 4:42 Saturday the 15th, we got 4 donuts, 11/10 staff the donuts look great, the one lady working there was very kind and explained everything perfectly. If you are anywhere near the bay, get in a car asap and go to this bakery. Will not disappoint.

I love happy donuts. They've been open 24/7 since before I was born and have never failed to deliver delicious, mouth-watering treats. It's hard to encapsulate all that is divine about this place. It is a true salt of the earth establishment, whose weathered but welcoming shell is reflected in their donuts' crispy exterior and feathery interior. Few experiences compare to an early morning or midnight affair with a chocolate cake donut, the icing still aglow with the oven's heat. Happy donuts sits innocuously at the welcome corner of a strip mall on an altogether forgettable tract of San Pablo. However, should you find yourself passing through Albany, this place is worth the visit.

Yah, the donuts must be pretty happy because they taste so good, but the I think the real happy ones are the customers. I was here because my other favorite favorite donut shops were closed for the day, before it was even 5PM. Wow, display case is packed with glistening, fresh gumminess. I could hardly even see the twists I had on my mind, but when I hesitantly asked about cinnamon, the proprietor pulled one out with a fiendish look of pride as my mind reeled with relief and joy. Luckily I had taped my mask to my face which kept my jaw from hitting the floor as he held it up with his tongs, rotating it back and forth slightly for my inspection. Oh, yes, please! There was something like six pots of coffee on tap and he mentioned at least four varieties - I had already looked and they were all mostly full and fresh looking even as evening approached and my large size cup did not disappoint. He even gloved up to handle filling my cup! Fast and efficient with the usual X pattern on the floor and all the other customers becoming quiet and cooperative as they, too, fell under the spell of the donut fumes. You can see from this review what that cinnamon twist and the follow-up chocolate buttermilk item did to my mind. My doctor would be upset if he ever finds out, but I'm going back tomorrow. It's not my fault; it's been over two weeks since I've had a donut of any kind. I do love my twists at my regular place, but I'm going to be unfaithful again.

I should hate this place because they make it impossible for me to think I can cut donuts out of my diet. They're better than other donut shops by far. I even showed up a half hour before closing and a fresh batch came out of the oven! So light and delicious that my self control didn't stand a chance!

We're so glad to see Happy Donuts open after being closed for 3 1/2 months due to an automobile smashing through the wall and into the counter. Grand reopening was yesterday, July 31st. We're sitting here at 5:36 AM scarfing down their delicious donuts... Off to bed!

The location or area is a little rundown, but the food and service was excellent. I think this are the best donuts I had in a long time. One thing I like about this donuts is that the bread is denser than other donuts I had before. Almost the same density as muffins. They also have a variety of flavors. I am a mail carrier in San Rafael, and one of my business customer gives out donuts every Friday. I finally asked him where he got them from and he told me it was from this location. so on the weekend, we made a 25 minute trip to this place, got donuts and then went to the beach. Perfect day for a picnic.

The staff is friendly and makes sure everyone has been helped. Breakfast sandwiches are fresh. Once you order them they start cooking it. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant. It was the perfect temperature. The cheese was nice and melted. The croissant was just the right amount of crisp yet still soft enough. Highly recommend for morning trips.

I would like to express my gratitude to the young man at the front desk, whom I believe is the owner. This morning was quite challenging 😂, and I'm sure parents with children can relate. In short, my son had a potluck at school, and we decided to bring donuts from a place we have visited before. I had ordered 28 donuts for my son's classmates, but while placing the order, I realized that I had cancelled my card, thinking that I had lost it. Consequently, my card was declined. However, the young gentleman, who happened to be of Asian-American descent, overheard the situation and kindly offered a solution. He didn't want my son to be late for school, so he suggested that I take the donuts now and return later to pay. I was pleasantly surprised by his act of kindness, and I genuinely felt that he meant it. Since I live only 4 minutes away, I accepted his offer. Writing reviews is not something I do often, except in circumstances like these. The gentleman took a risk on me, although it wasn't a large sum of money. Yet, for a local business, every risk matters. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to him for trusting me. As promised, I went back to the shop 15 minutes later to settle the payment.

TRY THEM! I am not big on sweets, but this place is a gem. Our family comes here often. They are so fresh and delicious! They are so cheap! The owner ran this place from 5 am to midnight! He also brews very good coffee! They are much better than most coffee shops in Berkeley!

5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid fresh donuts and food. I get donuts from here semi-regularly, because I try not to eat too much donuts 🍩 haha but they're so yummy! I stopped by today to get a box to share with friends. I was in a pinch so I also decided to try one of their breakfast sandwiches. I didn't expect much because most quick breakfast is just okay. But I was so pleasantly surprised at how yummy and homemade it tasted. Also add that the staff is soooo friendly. I really enjoy coming here. 😄

The staff is very welcoming, be it your first visit or your 20th. Cronuts and cronut holes are the best!!

I try to give credit where credit is due. When it comes to pastries, I’ve yet to experience one that stands out among the rest. That is until I walked my happy self into Happy Donuts. I would have taken a picture of what I ordered but they were so moist and delicious it was gone before I knew it! It seems to be a husband wife Braun and Brain power duo running the place, playing their parts seamlessly. There were two aromas here; fresh clean and fresh baked! I’m not from here but I’m glad I made the detour. It was well worth it! PURPLE YAM!! They have a purple yam donut. The coffee cake donut will make you want coffee as an excuse to get the donut. It’s delicious in its own though. It’s worth saying more about HOWEVER, I need to devour this glazed donut! You can always tell how great they are if they have good specialty and standard donuts. I was told they have multiple locations however I recommend to is one. It was worth the drive.

Your classic, good-ole donut shop. Has good donuts all day, with friendly service. My favorite is the old fashioned, but they have good chocolate donuts as well. If you're feeling donuty but still have the sweet tooth, there are some good pastries as well.

Had a line of patrons as I walked in but the employees there remained happy and happy to see us. They took our orders and within a few minutes we were all walking out happy as can be with breakfast orders, donuts, cold drinks and coffee. Delish too!

I come here on a weekly basis usually after midnight because of my job in Richmond. The coffee ☕ is always hot and fresh, the donuts are good but you have to try their bacon, egg, and cheese Croissant... DEELICIOUS! 😂

Used to have the best donuts and decent prices but I'm sure over a decade the rent has probably gone way up & price reflects that. Have a feeling it's the oil quality that's gone down. Still better than Krispy creme though;)

Donuts are great. Service is not. They will shove as many donuts as possible into one box even if they're frosted so by the time you've brought the donuts in for your family to eat the frosting is all over all of the other donuts. If you ask for an extra box or a bigger box, so they possibly aren't all smashed together, they give you a nasty look and an attitude. Pretty disappointed at my visit today.

Don’t order avocado toast at all. Too much feta cheese and one avocado $10. This is really bad.

Careful this place. I bought 6 cuisines. Each coast $2.00 one tea $1.50.00 They charged me $21.00 I was talking to my buddy and l didn’t pay attention at time. State tax is 6% local 1.25 I never go there again. I came this morning 7/20 around and there are two Asian women. I paid cash. 4/8/24
