I've been to a couple of Melting Pots before because we love this restaurant as a date night. Reston, Annapolis, and even one in PA. Our most recent visit at this Arlington location was the best experience yet. The food was delicious from the cheese all the way to the chocolate. Our waitress was very attentive and came back to offer more food whenever we were running low. There was so much cheese for our first course that I was satisfied from that alone! The entree meats course had huge portions and large quantity, more meat and biggest size we have seen yet. It was definitely worth the money and I was so full I almost couldn't finish! I'm normally not a huge fan of the chocolate because it's too overly sweet, but this one was perfect! We had a party of 8 and I thought that would be too much and too hectic, but everything was super smooth! Will definitely be back.

Great date night spot that doesn’t break the bank. The highlight was our server Sam, who made sure we had enough dippers for the fondue and answered all our questions. The plum dipping sauce was excellent

My server Morgan was the best server ever. Her fondue? STUNNING!! Beautiful, DELICIOUS melty cheesey meaty goodness! I will be returning to enjoys Morgan's fondue!!

This was the best anniversary date genuinely ever. Pricey but worth it in every single way. Our server was conversational and fun, the food was incredible, the atmosphere was insanely nice, romantic and private because of the booths. 10/10 cannot recommend highly enough!

Had a great birthday dinner at Melting Pot in Arlington! Morgan was a phenomenal server. She was very personable and made a delicious s’mores fondue!

Definitely go when you're really hungry! Took my fiancé here for a dinner date because of a Groupon we had. It didn't disappoint! The food was delicious and all the sauces were too. I can recall that the service was a bit slow transitioning from the cheese fondue appetizer to the main course but everything else was wonderful. I've had the veggie stock, mojo and red wine cooking broths and recommend the mojo the most! The s'mores chocolate fondue was the perfect ending to the night. We definitely plan on coming back

Food was amazing. I took my wife here on Valentine's day and was delighted by the atmosphere and menu. Everything was amazing and at the price we paid it better have been. Great waiter and would like to do it again next year.

We went for an office birthday dinner, and everyone had a great time experiencing the variations of veggies and breads and meats and sauces and dips. Thankfully the server helped us all understand how to cook our food appropriately. 10/10 recommend for everyone at least once! Take your time and have a blast.

My husband and I came here for the first time to celebrate Valentine’s Day during the Thursdate special and we loved it! The table was decorated with real rose petals and candles and it was so romantic. We enjoyed every part of our four-course dinner - especially the chocolate fondue. Our server, Brandon, was very knowledgeable, funny, and kind. We left the restaurant gushing over how amazing an experience it was and will likely come back for future holidays or just to get another taste of chocolate fondue!

Gabrielle is an awesome server, cheerful, efficient and even remembered extra lemon slice in the 2nd drink. The food and atmosphere were perfect for an easy date night.

I always love coming here! It's a very intimate place, very unrushed and always delicious! The service was amazing as usual. Our drinks were fantastic. We had the love drink and a chocolate drink as well! Not an overwhelming alcoholic taste like some cocktails have. Food and broths all came quickly as we requested! We will be back soon!

Our server, Diego, was AMAZING! Very funny, very accommodating, and very well-mannered. He found out it was our anniversary and brought a cute dessert plate to our table with two champagne flutes - his treat. All of the staff wore masks, and patrons had to wear masks when not seated at their table. No one was seated in any of the booths immediately near us, and there was hand sanitizer at the entry points. Loved it.

6 stars for service, Sam made our experience far more memorable than any other Melting Pot visit we’ve had! He was super attentive, friendly, asked engaging questions, and made great recommendations that matched our preferences. We’ve enjoyed meals at several Melting Pot locations and this was by far the most top-notch service we’ve ever received, even for a busy Friday night. I didn’t take any photos since we were expecting a standard experience, and regret not taking any after having received such great service. Huge shout out to Sam, we will be back just for him!

First time at the melting pot and Sam our waiter was great! He was beyond busy and was so on top of everything and exceptionally efficient! He knew the whole menu, had amazing recommendations and made a possible overwhelming experience so calm and fun. I’d definitely come back! Thank you so much Sam! From my family to your melting Pot family! Sam rocks!!!

Sam is the best!! My husband & I finally had a chance to go on a date night and our server, Sam, made the experience nothing short of amazing. He was on his A game the entire time. He explained everything to us, answered all of our questions, and made sure we were having a great experience. Overall 10/10. Will definitely be asking for Sam next time we visit. Wish we could get that kind of service everywhere we go. Thanks for making our night so great!!

As a returning Melting Pot customer, I enjoy the promotional events that the franchise has started! On this visit I had made a reservation for a table for their Sunday Brunch event. As usual each course was filled with a new flavor experience. We especially loved the Garlic Parmesan Potato dippers and the Alpine Benedict Fondue option was beyond delicious! Now as tempting as the dessert event flavors were, I personally had to try the seasonal DulChai de Leche off the main menu, the substitution was no extra cost either! Let's just say not a morsel of that chocolate was left. Lastly for drinks my husband tried the Bloody Mary *extra spicy* and for me, I tried the Basil Berry Refresher at the recommendation of the waiter. His customer service was exemplary and we hope to be seated with him again! The establishment was calm, sanitary and cozy, perfect for quality time with friends or family!

Great service, yummy food. Three thumbs up... I'd give four thumbs but I already had to steal the 3rd thumb for this review and I should probably give it back before they notice it's missing. P.S. I would have shared a better photo but to be honest I was too busy eating & stealing an extra thumb to worry about fancy photos.

We had a spectacular experience at The Melting Pot last night, for drinks, we ordered NA Pineapple Cobbler and NA strawberry Basil Lemonade; then we ordered Fiesta Cheese Fondue. For salad we ordered MP House Salad and California, California was so good! For entrée we ordered The Classic BRC and Steak Lovers BRC; for deserts, we ordered The original SM and Yin & Yang SM, we enjoyed Yin & Yang far better, but all the food was really good, so was the service. They offer their customers and guests a discount on parking, we payed $2 only!

I would love to give this restaurant a million stars! My husband and I booked a reservation for 8:30, our waiter was named Adam, he was very attentive. His energy and way of explaining the dishes to us made it an extraordinary night. This was our first time at the Melting pot, it was perfect. Each course was delicious, we enjoyed every bit of it. The seats were also secluded and the restaurant was not noisy, so you really get that romantic feel. The place was very clean and elegant and all of the staff were kind. We ended up being the last guests in the restaurant, thank you for letting us take our time to dine. We haven’t dined in anywhere since Covid, and this experience was as perfect as we could have hoped for. Thank you thank you!

This place was amazing! It was my first time and we loved the experience. We went on a Wednesday night for the BFFF Fondue menu which started at $30/person. After choosing the 4 course menu and splitting a bottle of wine, we spent about $50/person which was very reasonable. The atmosphere is nice, and everyone was very pleasant. Our waitress was excellent, even though she was working multiple tables at once. She was thorough in her explanations and made sure to check on us frequently. You have to pay for parking, which is about $5 before validation and $2 after validation. They have a large selection of items, and there are even vegan and keto friendly options! Even if you just stop by for dessert, I highly recommend and would visit here again in the future.

M
Maria

The waitress did a wonderful job of explaining the menu for us as it was out first time. We got the four course option with lobster and it did not disappoint. You get free dipper refills for both the chesse course and chocolate. I choose to get the romance package which includes rose petals with tea lights and a photo at the end.

Classic fondue. Grill for chicken is the healthiest option though you don’t really come here to be healthy. Cheese is always good. Fiesta or wisconsin cheddar. Chocolate ask for the Oreo they always have it off the menu. Don’t flambé it makes it taste like 151 alcohol.

The food is great, but the service is the real winner. I took my mother there for her birthday and she loved it. We were seated promptly, the food came out fast, and the waiter was able to read my note on my phone stating it was my moms birthday. Now, it might have looked a bit like I was asking for help in some hostage situation, but he discreetly read the note and came out with the happy birthday written on the plate (in addition to the regular dessert). For me, the waiter made a good experience great and it is one my mom will never forget.

Amazing service was provided tonight! I had reservations at 8:45pm and didn’t leave until 11pm despite them closing at 10pm. In fact, we ordered another round of drinks after 10pm with ease. When I first walked in (with my sunglasses on suffering a huge headache) Louis picked up on a customer in need. Attentive! Ordered a martini w/coffee for the caffeine ;) and he came out with sealed travel sized ibuprofen. LIFE SAVER. My experience was much more pleasant once my headache subsided. (Thanks again Louis!) We ordered the Dinner for 2 special and Adam was fully engaged with us during the entire stay. Extremely accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our girls night out tonight and it wouldn’t have been so seamless without the amazing service provided by Louis and Adam.

I would suggest making reservations before going. We did the 4 course meal dinner for 2.The only seating they had available at the time we went was at the bar. After while the seats was uncomfortable. I also suggest cooking all the food at 1 time if not the grill will be caked up with the seasonings and then your food will take a long time to cook. Over all everything was great 10/10 we left with full stomachs.

Just came for dinner and was not expecting such an amazing experience. It was so fun. The food was delicious and we had so many options. Our waitress, Lawrencia, guided us thru the menu and gave great service. My favorite was the teriyaki steak. And the dessert course was out of this world!

Reserved table on open table, super easy! Triston was our server. He was very personable and enjoyable. He gave us great service, making sure our drinks were never empty and checking in often. He was very confident in his answers about allergens (peanuts specifically), which made us very comfortable eating there with severe allergies. Triston also mentioned validating our parking garage ticket, which was helpful because I didn’t know that was an option! Highly recommend this location.

Went for Halloween date and I must say it was the best idea! Everything was wonderful from the hosts at the front down to our server. I’m writing a review to please keep the poison apple martini from the Halloween feast menu on the regular menu, because it is just that good. The bartender is very consistent! We had a lovely evening… will definitely be back soon. Edit: Luis made our date special! Thanks for all you do! Came back again and he’s recognized us 🥰 love it.

Marie was our server and she was absolutely fantastic! She made my partner and I feel so comfortable. We haven’t been to a Melting Pot in ages and it was a fun thing to revisit. I wish we had remembered how big the portions were because we DEF had ordered toooo much food, lol! Our cute waiter Brandon (sp. ?) was a gem and ever most attentive without becoming over bearing. The venue was so cute, clean, and huge! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves 😊

The Melting Pot restaurant chain is consistently good, and this location is no different. [Personal favorite is located in Denver, CO where they placed the restaurant in an old mill] The Arlington, VA location has a standard restaurant atmosphere, but the quintessential fondue experience. We just wrapped up a wonderful four course experience lasting three hours. Food - Great and you can't blame the chef if the food is overcooked Can't say enough about the cheese and chocolate fondues... Service - Knowledgeable wait staff. Not sure why service this evening was particularly slow. Possibly very busy or short staffed. Parking - Plentiful underground garage parking this evening. They VALIDATE! I highly recommend reservations. Allow 3+ hours and the more in your party, the marrier.

Quiet, intimate, a good time! The portions were more ample than we thought they'd be. We got the 4 course "Big Night Out" Dinner for 2. The Spinach and artichoke with the bread and veggies was yummy! #gobroccoli The sauces were REALLY good! The Gorgonzla Port Sauce and Green Goddess sauce was a winner with pretty much every protein. The Coq Au Vin broth added good flavor with a red wine broth with garlic, mushrooms and a kick of something spicy! Really fun experience! Wells was a great server! Thank you so so much!

This place is located in BALLSTON area of Arlington va. Parking was very easy to find. I took my fiancé here for our anniversary! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The romance package was a great deal and truly worth the money . The food was phenomenal and service was exceptional. The package I got was dinner for two, included roses, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne. Which really set the mood! I would definitely recommend this place for date night anniversary birthday or anytime you want to make someone feel special. Definitely check out one of the specials they have during a weekday with friends in the future.

5/7/2021 Who needs ambiance when every other category is 100%.  My wife and I were celebrating our 11th anniversary and wanted to do something different.  I've always heard of the Melting Pot but always opted for elsewhere. Not this time!   We literally had the best fun date in years and in the process almost ate ourselves into oblivion. Special note:  Fabiola our server says she has been working there for 2 months.  She seemed like a seasoned veteran.  She was always there when we needed and invisible when we did not. Her understanding of English was a little challenging but she was still a "5" out of 5. We ordered the THE BIG NIGHT OUT for 2 and there was enough for another person.   The food was great as were the drinks.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE this location. My husband and I came for our wedding anniversary. I called ahead to have rose petals put on the table. Turned out beautiful. We only wanted dessert. Our waiter was very helpful about making sure with the kitchen that nothing contained cinnamon which I'm allergic to. The host even walked around to check on us and ended up giving is a few extra brownies. Will definitely visit this location again. The staff and overall experience were awesome!

I had never been to a place like this before. My family and I made a reservation here to (unknowingly to me) celebrate my birthday since I was only in town for the week. Our server Quin(?) made everything super pleasant and enjoyable. He answered all our questions and was fantastic at preparing the fondue thingy. The atmosphere was great and the food and drinks were delicious. Only sad thing is that I wanted a souvenir Moscow Mule cup but they did not have any left to sell.

I came for the restaurant week menu and was surprised and delighted by a literal killer happy hour menu. Half off cheese and chocolate hello?!? 55$ 4 course experience was insane. We had never been to a Melting Pot before, so decided Valentine's weekend to visit this one in Arlington. So when we walked in we were asked if we had a reservation, our response was no, and they told us they were full. We then looked at other places but didn't know where to go, the bar was empty so we asked if we could sit there, they said yes, now why wouldn't your front of restaurant staff suggest that to begin with?? We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and had some good suggestions. We decided to their full menu for two. This comprised of a cheese fondue, two salads, and entree fondue and a chocolate fondue. Each one was accompanied with different things to cook and dip. The salads were very fresh and tasty. Now this is a lot of food, but never having been before it was a great way to try everything. This option is $110 for two, plus drinks, so something you may not do every time you go out but for us a nice Valentine's meal. The place is very nicely done and we really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely go back but perhaps do a salad and entree next time or stop in for their dessert fondue. You won't be disappointed if you go.

Just wanted to give a huge shout out to this place! Between my wife and I we have several food allergies and the waitress (I believe her name was Rachel) Was so kind and patient with us as we asked a million questions. My wife has celiac and I was scared there wouldn't be a lot of options for her but there were plenty! The staff took all the proper precautions for allergies and my wife and I were able to enjoy a lovely meal!

My first time here or at a place like this was on my birthday in October. Our server was Jeremy and I appreciate him for his knowledge and service! He was so patient and sweet. I still feel like “cooking for yourself” places are a little scammy lol but I had a great time. And they have some of the most delicious sauces. I’d love to try it again and get one of the courses.

The Melting Pot offers an unforgettable dining experience where friendly service, delicious food, and an exciting atmosphere come together perfectly. From the moment you enter, the warm and welcoming staff make you feel right at home, always attentive and eager to guide you through the unique fondue-style menu. Their friendly demeanor enhances the overall experience, making it as enjoyable as the food itself. The multi-course meal is a true adventure, with each course—cheese, entrée, and dessert—being interactive and delicious. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavor combinations are outstanding, making each bite a treat. It’s more than just a meal; it’s an experience that invites you to savor every moment. The restaurant’s setting is equally impressive, with a cozy, intimate ambiance that’s perfect for a date night, celebration, or simply a fun night out. The dim lighting and comfortable seating create a sense of relaxation, while the interactive dining keeps the energy lively. Overall, The Melting Pot provides a wonderful, one-of-a-kind experience that leaves you excited to return again.

The place is really cozy and the service very friendly. The food is great, from the salads to the cheese fondue and the desserts. We had the meat lovers and it was amazing, really recommended! And for dessert the chocolate with rum is really nice. Definitely a place to visit as a couple for a romantic meal or with family and friends!

The Valentines Day meal was totally worth it! The atmosphere at the Melting Pot location in Arlington is super cozy and romantic. Lots of small rooms divided with partial walls, giving your table an intimate feeling with not being in eyesight of others. The meal was preset and a bit on the expensive side. However, if you’re willing to splurge for the whole experience - the food was great, its fun to cook yourself and the staff does a great job checking in, making sure you have everything you need. Definitely would recommend trying for a special night out!

We always had a great here, the service is very good, the food is good too. This is a fun experience for kids and for the family in general. They have a kid’s menu, we had plenty of food, we were 5 and actually if you go with people that not eat that much you can actually share the protein. The cheese was good, a lot of bread and veggies, the seasoning was great on the meet, and the dessert was good too. If you like spicy I highly recommend the Fiesta cheese Fondue, it’s very good, if not the Wisconsin cheddar is good too. Our entrees were Steak lovers, land and sea, Pacific Rim and just chicken, they are a very good portions. And to the end, our chocolate fondue was pure chocolate and banana foster and this last was amazing. The drinks were good. At the end they surprised my little girl with a happy birthday piece of cake and a wonderful decoration.

I had the best birthday dinner in a long time here! The artichoke cheese fondue was just out of the world and the yin and yang chocolate fondue stole my heart. On top of that our waiter Wells gave us an excellent service and great recommendations. 10/10 would come here again!

We came in on a Friday night and they weren’t super busy. The parking is right underneath the building and requires the restaurant to validate your parking pass to make it only $2. Our server was friendly and responsive, always checking in with us. We went with the first option for the course meal which was $106 for two people. We had the garlic cheese which came with fruit, veggies, and bread. I think that was the best part of the meal! We then got California and Caesar salad, which was okay. Coq au vin with the classic and pacific entrees, the portion size was much bigger than I thought. The meats were seasoned well and tasted fine without the dipping sauces. For dessert we got the yin yang which was white and dark chocolate that came with fruit and other sweet things. Personally I thought it was too sweet. If I came back I’d order a la carte and get the cheese and entrees, as those were the best part of the course meal. But overall had a great first experience!

We ate here on a Monday night so it was pretty quiet but we had such a lovely experience!! All of the fondue was great, I think especially the cheese (we had spinach & artichoke) and chocolate. The meat tasted fresh and we really liked all of the sauce options (variety and quality). Everything was fantastic, it's always a treat to come here. Also I can't remember our server's name but he was wonderful to us and really made our experience fantastic!! Thank you!!

We've been here a few times now, the kids love it and it's fun. But the facility feels old and not so clean and not so cared for. The staff is very green and customer service isn't top. Like there was a skewer on the floor in the hallway by the check in desk with a bright blue handle and no one seemed to pick it up. The desert and cheese fondue is great. The meats never come out that great. We always get the meal for 2 for the 4 of us and then add a portion to the dessert. It's pricey but fun for a special occasion.

The experience was nice! The appetizer, dessert and seafood were great. The old fashion drink strong 💪🏽. The chicken was ok. The only thing that was disturbing was the cost of a 3 year old being approx $30. Even though she didn’t eat anything and had a drink, the fee was an add on we weren’t aware of!

Fun experience which is definitely on the pricey end. I highly recommend the cheese and dessert options, the entrees were under whelming and not really worth it. We got unlucky this time around or there was a mix up with our order but there was waaaay too much wine/cheese ratio in our fondue that we would get these horrible mouthfuls of burnt wine taste. But the first time i had it, it was delicious so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt.

A bit old but good friendly atmosphere and nice place to try fondue with family.

Excellent service, friendly staff. Had a great date-night. Lots of fun to take someone who's never tried fondue. Quality is up to your skill and comfort with a fondue pot. The slower pace means you won't eat as much as you think you will; found out we over-ordered a little. For us, this is a "special occasion" option, but not a regular stop. It's totally ok to treat yourself and just go for dessert!

Fun place to enjoy fondue! Nice place to bring a date and enjoy a relaxing evening having fun over a meal! Also a good place to have young kids to play with food and cheese yum yum!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary for dinner. It was ok, I don't think there was enough flavor in the broth we chose so that made all the meat a little bland for my taste. We ordered the bigger night out that comes with lobster. I wouldn't recommend this for the price.

Came for restaurant week. Nice & different dining experience. Great service. Too much food...nice problem to have but food wasted unnecessarily (asked for modifications but still brought food we knew we weren't going to eat). Garage parking ended up more than advertised on the website. All in all, a good, unique experience!

First time here and honestly it’s a nice experience. The food was good though, definitely enjoyed the steak ! My favorite was the house salad but the best part was the chocolate fondue for dessert. The espresso martini was just the right amount of sweet and chocolate.

I went there for my sister birthday and it was our first time. It was such a great experience. We choose four course dinner for 2 and TBH it was a lot for us and be prepared to spend not less one hour there if you chose it. Everything was really tasty and delicious. The service was good.

The martini was really good and the server was polite and very helpful. Since everyone has to decide on one kind of fondue, it would be good if there were a little more offerings for dipping. A few bread pieces and raw vegetables just isn't at all worth the price. Would be nice to be able to try a few different cheeses without everyone at the table getting charged :/

This place looks more run down and less "upscale" every time I am there. We arrived and multiple tables sat dirty waiting to be bussed. Food was okay, but staff clearly didnt want to be bothered, and did the bare minimum to serve dinner.

Be smart with order, don't order the 5 course dinner. They charge $100 per person but you don't get your order you are still sharing at $200. You can get a 4 course dinner for $116 that is sharing and it's very similar. That's $86 cheaper but missing 2 things a lobster tail and a Chocolate explosion you can add on for $24 so now your bill is $140, $60 cheaper for the same thing but missing one course. That one course is 4 grape tomatoes or cherry tomatoes with bacon crumbs you would put in a salad inside, not worth $60. You can use that $60 for your beverages. I am so happy I figured that out getting to the restaurant, my wife ordered two lemon drops that cost $28 and tipped $35 the savings bought 2 drinks, and paid most of the tip. The waitress said I was right about the 4 course dinner I explained above compared to the 5 courses. The restaurant sure makes their money selling 4 cherry/grape tomatoes for $60. I'm looking at these reviews and see so many plates saying Happy Birthday to people and that's very nice of the restaurant. When sitting down I mentioned to our waitress that it was a celebration for my wife's birthday, she did say happy birthday to my wife. I wonder why she was treated differently than others I see here. It's not that big of a deal it's just a plate saying happy birthday might need to be requested.

Interesting experience but could use an update and deep cleaning. Nice service.

My husband and I, 75 years of age, chose "Thursdate" for our anniversary dinner. We were seated at a tiny corner table with three candles and rose petals, but told that the restaurant had NO HEAT! We wondered why it was open at all and I lamented the fact that I had not worn my fur-lined boots: my feet were freezing. Nighttime temperatures have been in the mid-teens; daytime temperatures in the low 20s; however, we had been cooking so much at home that we thought it would be nice to have someone else cook for us, for a change. After a first course of cheese fondue with mostly small rounds of bread, to which four small pieces of carrot and celery and two each of broccoli and cauliflower and some cut green apple were included, we considered taking our leave: It was really cold. But we decided to stick it out. Our waitress, Brittany, should have at least been supplied a sweater or jacket. She did her best, though her training should include offering fresh ground pepper on our salads: She had the pepper grinder with her, but it was difficult to get her attention, being tucked back in a far corner. When Brittany brought ice water, we asked for water that was not cold; it was cold enough, inside and out! She returned water with no ice, but it was still very cold, and we moved it as close as we could to the cook top. The chill didn't leave for a long time. Management might consider offering a hot, non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated drink for cold winter nights—especially if they open the restaurant without heat! My martini was good, but it was some time in arriving, even though we were the only patrons in the restaurant when we arrived. I did request Absolute vodka, as I'd never heard of their bar vodka. Unfortunately, there is no non-alcoholic beer available, which would have been my husband’s choice. The main course followed our salads--Caesar and spinach, and they were good enough and sufficient, given the amount of food that is included in the four-course meals. One serving plate included broccoli, potatoes, and two pieces of zucchini; the other, the meats. I attempted to carefully time everything, and there was a lot of it. A huge problem is that the cooktop was not within my reach without my having to stand up, reach over, add things to the broth, fish for the things that were done, and sit down each time. I had to do all of the cooking, as my husband has hardware in both legs and a shoulder replacement: Not a candidate for the calisthenics that I endured. My husband enjoyed the potatoes; we each enjoyed our single piece of zucchini; the broccoli became too salty, having spent too much time in the pot. The mushroom ravioli—one each—was tasty, and we enjoyed the shrimp and salmon; however, we didn’t get a lot of flavor from the chicken, the filet mignon, or the teriyaki-marinated steak. Fortunately, although we were stuffed, the dessert saved the day: fresh strawberry and banana slices, chocolate-covered marshmallows, blondies, brownies, rice crispies, and waffles pieces, all of which we dipped into our favorite: dark chocolate. We laughed a lot, because we always do, trying to find the humor in everything, and were glad for the diversion. During the night, I had a horrible reaction in my right sinus from the extreme cold and I was unable to sleep more than a couple of hours. The following day, I developed significant muscle pain in my buttocks from all the standing, leaning, cooking, scooping…and last night—two nights later—unbearable pain from my sciatic nerve continues as of this writing. In conclusion, I would suggest that management CLOSE THE RESTAURANT if there is no heat in sub-freezing temperatures; that the small, awkward, corner tables not be used, as it is not possible to reach the cook pot without more athletic ability than I have; that some consideration be given for older people so they do not have to do said gymnastics, and that beverage choices for non-alcohol drinkers and for winter be considered. Update: Management asked me to contact them. I did. No reply 10 1/2 months later.

The Melting Pot is a chain restaurant line that specializes in fondue style dining. You are seated at a table that features a small cooktop in the middle of the table where you basically cook your own food in a boiling pot of broth. You choose your protein preferences and the flavored broth you would like to cook it in. The selections are steak, chicken, seafood and veggies in any combination! They also feature a dessert option that serves different types of melted chocolate, i.e., milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate and a half white half dark chocolate combo. Your dipping choices are served in an oval dish which features, strawberries, slices of apples and chunks of angel food cake. Definitely the most popular item. I have dined at many locations over the years as it was, and in some cases still is, a specialty restaurant for romantic evenings and celebrations. In my opinion, the food has gone downhill since the earlier days of the Melting Pot. Quality of food used to be the star of the show. Not so much anymore. The meat is dry and tough and in smaller portions then it used to be. It used to be a restaurant where you would dress up a bit and the vibe was slightly upscale. Now, diners wear shorts, sandals, raggy jeans, dirty T-shirts and quite frankly, the restaurants stink of dirty carpet. While my recent visit wasn't terrible, I don't think I will be dining there in the future. One thing to note is that our server was awesome! Not his fault. *** Side Note: Not a good place for small children for obvious reasons. If left unsupervised, burning accidents can definitely happen! Maybe 10+ would fine, with supervision.

The food was great as always. We had the 4 course meal with the Wisconsin cheese fondue which was delicious. The dippers for the cheese were plentiful. The California and Caesar salads were really flavorful. We did the land and sea mojo style for the entree. I feel like that's the least exciting part because you have to cook it yourself and the process takes a while. We ended with the cake fireworks explosion chocolate fondue. That was disappointing aside from the cool fireworks but the cake crumbled a part in pieces and the cotton candy was doused in some inedible solution so we couldn't even eat the cotton candy. It was just okay, not worth the extra money. I had the Love Martini which was really good. My overall rating is mid because the service was SUPER slow. The waitress was not very attentive to our needs and took forever with our requests which made our dining experience long and dragged out. Hopefully next time it will be a better experience.

UPDATED REVIEW: I truly hate to give negative reviews, especially to a place where I normally love to go to with my family but after tonight, I have to revise my previous positive review. My family and I have been visiting this location for the past 20 years and the food and service is usually consistent. The last two times we dined here we have had bad experiences with tonight being the worst. We were served by a young man by the name of Sam B. From the moment we met Sam, it was very obvious he did not want to be there and we did not feel welcomed. His service was VERY slow and he couldn’t answer some of the simple questions we had asked regarding couple items on the menu. The two cheese fondues he prepared for us were extremely watery and to make matters worse, we found hair in our food that didn’t match the color of any of my family members. When we informed Sam of this, he never apologized and just walked away. When he came back, he sort of slid the new item on our table and walked away again. His actions were very rude. When you’re paying $50 a person, you expect good service. If you visit this location, do yourself a favor and make sure Sam isn’t your waiter. He clearly lacks customer service and has no personality or warmth.

It was hard to cook everyone's food at the same time and the whole process was over 2 hours and that was with rushing the server because we had plans. It is very pricey.

This not my first time at the Melting Pot. I actually used to work there along with a location in PA. Decided to book a reservation for a date night for myself and my husband. I already let them this was date night and added the touch of romance package. The host was lovely kind and sat us fast. After waiting 10 mins our sever Shawn greeted us. We got drinks and waited another 10 mins. Shawn starts to make the cheese. He walks over dumbs the bear and salsa in. Doesn’t tell us what he’s doing and walks away. Another 10 mins goes by. He brings out the rest of dippers and starts making the cheese. Doesn’t say much, doesn’t tell us what he’s doing is doing. At this point I’m thrown off especially due to me having being employed there I know how the experience works. Shawn was also taking care of the party beside us, as going over chocolate with them he’s explaining everything, entertaining them and we get known of that energy. After awhile my husband I felt unwanted. Shawn brought out the pot and never turned the burner on. After eating several minutes I was wondering why isn’t the pot getting hot, I turned on three myself. Cooked all my food, asked to go boxes, and chocolate to go. Spend 200 dollars and tipped this man out of respect for service industry and left. Extremely disappointed. Mine you this gentleman claims he has worked their for three years. So he knows what to do and decided to give below average service. I went there a month ago with friends and got a new server that was going their for a couple weeks that showed more hospitality then him. Waste of money, waste of time.

Way overpriced, will never be back. Food was horrible. Service was terrible also.

The AC was broken on father's day. I called an hour before my reservation to make sure everything would be perfect. They failed to tell me the AC was broken. They waited until we arrived at 6:30 to tell us. We stayed because it was too late to go any where else. Then, to top it off, all of us had food poisoning the next day. That was my very last time at Melting Pot.

Came here for my partners birthday and it was - underwhelming, to say the least. For the price you pay there is definitely not much you get. We asked our server (multiple times) if the "refills" they mentioned were included or additional and they advised they were included in the price - then proceeded to charge us when we got the check. This chain has gone down hill over the years and this experience, especially it being for a birthday, was disappointing. Would not recommend to anyone - unless of course your money is burning a hole in your pocket and you need to spend it on a lackluster "experience".
