Burger by Day is, hands down, the best Smash Burger place in NYC. See, I typically only give 5 star reviews because I make it a point to only go to 5 star places. Burger by Day isn’t the cheapest spot, but the food is consistently great and you get a ton of options. It’s also right next to a boba tea spot that I always go to with my burger and fries. So good.

It’s very easy to walk by this place and not realize that it’s a burger spot. It’s probably the only burger spot in that area and I was very happy to find it. There are tons of choices of burgers. The service is great not a lot of seating but more than just a small area. they have chicken burgers too. The burger was flavorful juicy done the way I like it, and it was filling. Definitely recommend.

Stopped by Burger By Day and wow… so good! The burger was juicy, flavorful, and made just right. Loved the family-owned, friendly vibes.. you can feel the care in both the food and the service. Definitely a Chinatown NYC gem.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while visiting Chinatown last week. It was a great atmosphere, food made-to-order, and a good price for the food quality. Service was great and I’d like to compliment Tony L both on his service and his fashion. My wife got the BBQ Smash Burger with crispy fries and I got a bacon cheeseburger with tater tots. Everything was perfectly made and just what we needed after walking around on a freezing day.

Food and service were great. The highlight of the burger was sauce and this is not a slight to the meat patties. Fries were much better than expected. Use the potty before, because I’m not sure it has a public restroom. If it does, you have to ask, etc. If I worked anywhere near the area this is a rotational lunch spot.

I saw this place on a burger article and stopped by on a weekday afternoon to have something for lunch and dinner. I was surprised to see a burger shop in Chinatown out of all the places, but after speaking to the owner, I understood the purpose since the owner wanted to revitalize Chinatown after the pandemic but didn't want to compete with the existing Chinese restaurants. Found this pretty cool. The menu items were way cheaper than a lot of places in the city, so I can say that they are affordable. Popcorn Chicken: Reminded me of Taiwanese chicken bites. Batter was crispy with hints of black pepper and spices. Chicken meat was super soft. Same batter as the Chick sandwiches. Homemade special sauce added fun to texture and flavor. Sweet N’ Spicy Chick: Chicken thigh was big but it wasn’t overwhelming at all. Honey sriracha sauce’s sweetness and spicyness were just right. The spicy kick didn’t have me reaching for water but it was a surprise with each bite. Cole slaw did a great job of neutralizing the spicy flavor. BBD Burger: Tried and true formula consisting of great meat, veggies, cheese and special sauce. Buns were grilled just right, the patties held enough juice to carry a flavor punch. Combined with the special sauce, there was a good amount of umami which I thoroughly enjoyed. Seating might get a bit hectic around dinnertime since the tables are shared with a bubble tea shop sharing the same storefront on the other side. I would definitely visit again when I'm around Chinatown. Highly recommended.

Loved the burgers this spot is cooking up! They tasted super fresh and were loaded with bacon and toppings. Also a lot less greasy than I would have expected. The chicken sandwich here is also very legit and very delicious, ESP that Sweet n Spicy flavor! They even have some nice side options including onions rings, perfect fries, and popcorn chicken!!

Very nice burger place. Colorful walls and inspired photos. Staff was super friendly and brought us our food and brought us our water. Incredibly helpful and friendly.... Didn't just give us a bathroom key but opened the bathroom door for my son... Burgers were very tasty. Fries were crispy and delicious... All in all a great time and place to have a burger. There are seats for about 20 people... Will be back for sure!

was honestly surprised with this place and their burgers. it’s not as greasy as some smash burgers and they have a pretty decent sized menu. there is also a pretty great afternoon special deal for $2.30 burgers. will probably come again for some decent burgers.

I will say, the people are incredibly kind. They will go above and beyond to make sure you’re good. As for the food, I got the big boy 1/2 pound burger and my girl got the bacon cheeseburger. We both said the burger was good, just pricey. It was a decently big burger and you’ll be satisfied after you eat it. It’s just missing what makes a smash burger really savory. If they could toast the bun, or maybe offer a burger where the bun is smashed and toasted with the burger, it’ll elevate this place a lot. It’ll make it so the burger and bun feel like one, and the bites more savory. I’ll be back to try the chicken burgers for sure.

Very fine burger. I came here as I read online it’s comparable and maybe better than some other popular quick smash burger spots but it tasted very, just fine. The fries had no salt or seasoning so it was just crunchy oil.

The thing that I hated the most absurd this place is that they charge extra for the sauces and in my book that's totally unacceptable. I paid $50 for the food and on top of that I have to pay extra for the condiments and sauces. That dose not any sense to me. Ordered big boy and Spicy Chicken. Both the sandwiches r ok. The smash burger isn't that big. It looks big just coz it's filled with lettuce.

The people were really nice! I got the lunch special which was 2.30 per slider and I got three of them. The “patties” were extremely small, almost paper thin. I wasn’t expecting a whole burger but a little bit more meat would’ve been nice.They still tasted okay but I felt like I was mostly eating bread. I would come back to give the actual burger a try though.
