Everything you’d expect from a stumptown vendor. Excellent espresso, perfectly steamed milk. They’ve got tasty pastries as well.
Really good latte! I tried the vanilla latte and loved it. The cappuccino was really good too! Super creamy and velvety texture
Best drip coffee in this neighborhood, even better than the Coffee Project in this category.
Walked in on Wednesday morning in full construction gear, guy at the counter was welcoming. He took my order ice read eye with oat milk, he suggested the raspberry filled croissant. It was fresh & flaky filled with the perfect amount of raspberry, my drink was great definitely tasted the expreso.
We stayed for several days in the Park Slope neighborhood and tried out several of the nearby coffee shops. This was one of our favorites. There were several small tables set up to sit down and enjoy the coffee and breakfast items if you had the time after ordering at the counter. The room was a nice size and we didn’t feel crowded by the other breakfast guests. The room was clean. Service was nice and helpful. The coffee was good. What more can you ask for!
I found it to be a perfect respite in a ratchet or otherwise unsoothing neighborhood. Their food options are on the thinner side. Totally pointless if you want a meal, but great coffee, cozy atmosphere despite rather uncomfortable seating.
Got a latte with the mocha flavor and it was smooth and flavorful! There’s no indoor seating, only outdoor seating, but there are ledges indoor where you can can stand and work on a laptop or read.
This place has a nice, clean, and asethetic interior. They serve Stumptown Coffee and Kombucha - both on tap. Bc I am lactose sensitive, I usually use milk alternatives. I was pleasantly suprised that they had oat milk and I got an iced oat milk latte. It was perfect and the barista was warm and welcoming as well! Would definitely come back!
Great staff with nice outdoor seating for warm sunny days. Coffee is fantastic and can really get you going depending on how strong of a brew you want. Lots of choices.
As we 'spring forward' this week, the hour loss has left me feeling a little tired and I needed a boost....so I ordered a Cortado. The barista was super friendly and prepared a delightful beverage. Pastries, sandwiches, vegan selections, and healthy parfaits sold here. Hungry ghost uses the Stumptown Coffee brand and they dispense hot beverages and cold coffee brew on tap. I can't wait to go back and try it. Fabulous little spot.
Great coffee. The baristas usually do some nice latte art too. There is no seating, just a small counter you can stand at.
Great coffee, great people. The music is WAY too loud! Can’t even be heard when I order. Turn down the music, keep the cool vibes.
I used to go here when I used to be in the area. Came here after many years passing and wow- coffee still tastes just as amazing :) delicioso! Bueno provecho! (I got the honey vanilla cinnamon latte)
A small and kinda hidden coffee shop, I grabbed a coffee before heading to work. Don’t really have much options in their menus but the coffee tastes good. I like how they keep everting nice and tidy. I’ve latte was good and they use the stumptwon coffee bean, one of my favorites!
Had a quick coffee stop at Hungry Ghost Coffee during my NYC trip and enjoyed the delicious flat white. Service was fast and friendly. The store is pretty small and neatly decorated. There are a couple of standing bars by the window and two benches outside.
A cute small coffee shop, more for “to go” than stay but they have a few chairs next to windows. Coffee was excellent and pastry as well.
A little bit pricey but their latte tastes quite smooth and creamy. The atmosphere is quite nice. Was about to complain that I didn’t see any ghosts at all, but… How would I even know @-@
First time here and it exceeded my expectations! The lattes are delicious. I appreciate the options of oat, almond, and soy milk and I'm sure others do too! One of the better coffee shops I have been to. The vibe has a relaxed and calm feel. The staff is also personable which is a huge plus!
Really fantastic coffee shop! I got an iced latte and the espresso was fantastic; really bold flavor without a hint of bitterness. It was so smooth that there was no need for any sweetener. My partner got the nitro cold brew which was also quite good, very refreshing. I also got a chuckle out of the decor, they were using old Chemexes as flower vases.
Coffee was perfect- I had a cappuccino. While coffee is notoriously bitter (not a bad thing!), their espresso was very smooth... Overall, would definitely visit again and recommend to others!
Amazing coffee. Gives me a real boost of energy and i honestly don’t even crash later on. I always get a flavored Oat Latte and its so delicious
Nice coffee shop. Good pastries and coffee. Only thing is there’s no where to sit at this location.

Nice coffee shop. Good pastries and coffee. Only thing is there’s no where to sit at this location.
I walked into the café right at 5 PM after a long, difficult day at work, feeling completely drained. Claudine greeted me with the warmest smile and genuinely asked how my day was going. Her kindness immediately lifted my spirits. She was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and went above and beyond to make me the best hot chocolate I’ve had in a long time. I left the shop feeling lighter, reminded that there are truly kind people in this world who care. Thank you, Claudine — you brightened my entire day. I will definitely be back!

Nice coffee and staff. Would be better if the food was not exposed, maybe sliding door? Will be back for the delish coffee
great coffee, and really friendly baristas. The inside is too small for you to sit inside and drink your coffee, but they have a few tables outside you can sit at. Bonus: they usually have dog treats! 2025 10/10 update to my 2021 review. I went in at 4pm and was told they have no espresso Because “it’s too late” and they only have iced coffee and hot coffee. I said ok, left and checked the hours and they don’t close until 5pm. Not sure if this is a new policy or what the issue is but “closing” espresso drinks an hour before the shop closes is unprofessional.
Decent iced mocha latte. Could have used a bit more mocha in it. Pricey for the location. Would need to check out other options in the area before I would come back to this spot. It has a nice space on the inside but it’s incredibly small with no chairs.

Cute little grab and go/standing coffeeshop. Love the vibe, clean, and simple. The Barista was by herself, hard working, very kind, and friendly. They had stumptown coffeebags, so I assume thats what they were using.

Got coffee here during a visit to the city. The iced coffee was nice as was the scone. The living wall is a lovely feature. Friendlier service would go a long way. The name of the shop is terrific!
I looove their croissant, I get one every Saturday morning and their service be great. However, on Saturday morning the 26th of October the server was nasty. I said good morning he ignored me, this morning he just dropped my two croissants in the brown bag, with no clear bag. Just bad service at
I came in for cold brew but found out they can’t serve it in the winter because the cafe is so cold the machine is frozen. The staff also has to wear their winter coats. The staff is great but it seems like a problem to keep the cafe that cold
I used to manage a coffee shop, and I had to train baristas in pulling a good shot. There are two things I’m experiencing in drinking the coffee that concerns me: 1. The coffee tastes sour in both the espresso and the drip. The grind size should be adjusted regularly, usually finer if sour, coarser if bitter. 2. I watched three different baristas spin the tamper in the portafilter and press at the same time. This can cause issues with pulling the shot as well. One sharp, firm, but not heavy, press of the espresso should be enough. Otherwise the espresso grounds may shift and not have even distribution so the water can flow through equally.
Good for a quick cup of coffee, no wait for service. There was one small table outside and a bar area where people could stand inside and eat/drink, but otherwise, a very small place that may not suit dining-in. There was a small selection of pastries available.
Mediocre coffee and food. A coffee and a dry on-the-stale-side mortadella sandwich was $19. I shoulda gotten a giant madeleine which looked yummm! Seems a more pick-up place as no chairs were out at the high tables. Bench outside. Cream and milk containers empty. Employee was super lovely.
Smaller hungry ghost branch with no table. I was excited to try this coffee for the first time but it was just aiight.
Nice small cafe with a small breakfast menu. My latte wasn’t very strong - more milky. 5 x small tables inside. No WiFi. Strong cooking smell inside so you don’t want to hang around too long but it’s ok to stop by.

I just arrived in NY yesterday and a friend recommended Hungry Ghost. The coffee was amazing and such a shame about the lack of chairs and the sullen baristas whose actions will prevent me going back into that particular shop. Will certainly try other Hungry Ghosts
Decent coffee! But the staff needs to pay more attention. I ordered a cherry oat scone and ended up with a rhubarb scone that I didn’t realize until I got home. Such a disappointment. They weren’t even busy…

Last week, I went into this location and asked the barista if one of the muffins contained nuts, as I have an allergy. She said no it did not so I ordered one to go. When I took a bite later, there were actually walnuts in it. Luckily my reaction was mild, but for some, this mistake could've been fatal. I reached out to Hungry Ghost about it, hoping for at least a refund, and they never replied. I wish they would put up some sort of signs about allergens but for now I'd recommend being very cautious when ordering the pastries here if you have a food allergy.
1) Coffee is to acidic, not a huge fan of that stuff 2) When you ask for “less water” / “ leave a room” you want to get a coffee with less water lol I wish the barista be more attentive
Overpriced and awful products. The counter girl was nice though - nice enough to make sure that I wasn't stealing from their tiny storefront. So, they're bad at consumerism and bad at profiling. Just plain awful.
I’ve been a barista of 10 yrs and hungry ghost is one of my faves. I occasionally pop in for my morning coffee and had loved it in the past because the baristas seem experienced. I came in this time and asked for an extra foam latte but instead of aerating the milk more, the barista over steamed the milk it was bubbling from the milk burning. I paid money expecting good coffee but instead I got disappointment.
I felt profiled the whole time I was there, cashier was nice enough to not ask what size we wanted. Won’t spend my money where I’m made to feel uncomfortable.
