Avis sur Da Angelos Albertson
It's been a while since we've gone there. They did a great job renovating the restaurant. We just went for pizza. Their grandma pie is the best
I live in New Hyde Park, and this is still my go to spot for my favorite pizza. Regular pies, Marinara, and of course Grand Ma pies always get rave reviews from us, and from all our family & friends who we share with. Been coming here for over 15 years, and always look forward to pizza night!
The pizza is amazing and a really good price. I'd say the pizza is an easy 8 or 9 out of 10. Only about $20 a pie.
Whenever I'm in the area I always drop by, the calamari and linguine white clam sauce is delicious
The place is small and always busy. It's simply delicious. It's very hard to resist Arrabiata pizza. Good luck getting a seat at the restaurant.
Great service, they can custom make you almost anything. Grandma pizza is amazing. Owners are real nice and classy. Steve, Angelo, Pete, Sergio etc. are amazing. Hats down to the chef. The northshore pizzeria to be at.
They have the best rice balls in LI. I have never had a rice ball with a nice amount of beef. This place nails it! 10/10 pizzeria. Amazing.
Been my families go to place since they moved in the neighborhood in 2000. Had all my childhood pizza parties from here and I just love it! Best pizza in Albertson!!!
This pizzeria is the BEST in town! The food is absolutely phenomenal and so is the staff. The owner Angelo and his son Steve are amazing. I consider them family now. HIGHLY recommend .
This place is OUTSTANDING on every level. It doesn't hurt that I live across the street!!! Perfect for a high quality meal at a reasonable price after a hard day at work. Keep up the GREAT work fellas!!!!
Great food and great service. I order the fettuccini Alfredo for take out once a week. Their sauces are rich with flavor and quality is great too.
Good food and great service. After dinner, I realized that I forgot my wallet and credit cards. I ordered a cappuccino for my wife and went home to get my credit cards. When I came back the waitress refused to charge me for the cappuccino.
We just ate a quick lunch there. Very simple place, very clean. Good service, good foods, good price.
Always excellent Italian Food! They are always so nice and really care about their customers. I highly recommend!
This is our favorite pizzeria in the island. It gets better with each visit; the grandma pizza is succulent eat it slow and savor it. I don't review often but the grandma pizza needs its own pedestal as a previous reviewer mentioned!
Great place, great food, great hospitality. The price may be just a little high but you get quality food for it. Located in a little place with next to nothing around it with a parking lot that has limited spaces. Definitely a place worth checking out and to be your regular... just mind how much you are willing to spend here.
No doubt some of the best pizza you can get in all of Nassau County. Grandma is of course incredible, but you'd be missing out a lot of you didn't try everything they offer. Everything is up to and better than expected, and their standard slice is absolutely perfect!
A really nice local pizza and Italian food spot. Always enjoy the food here. Shrimp scampi was great and my wife's chicken parm was also top notch. The chicken was sliced thin and was very tender. The marinara ssucecwas nice and sweet. A great selection of fresh baked rolls and garlic bread are also brought to the table. The Margherita pizza here is also excellent.
New to this pizza shop but I just wanted to say.. both times I have visited I was taking care of immediately. The food is fresh and the place is immaculate. My family had pizza and I ordered Calamari and Garlic knots. We will definitely be back!
I visit this place at least 3x's a week, and boy let me tell you I am so pleased, the staff is great, the atmosphere awesome and the restaurant is set in a very nice town. I could not ask for better food. I'm always being serviced wonderfully by the nice young lady at the cash register, she has pretty eyes but more importantly she is very kind. The place stays crowded & in these days and times you want that since the struggle with covid, we can use a place that offers good food & nice attitudes to go along.
The food was awesome it was my first time inside the pizza place omg the pizza was great for me hopefully I'll be able come by again .
Great food and top notch service.
Every single thing that my family and I have ordered from here has been so insanely good! The food is incredible!! The grandma pie needs to have monuments erected in its honor. You really cannot go wrong!
Never really go here, unfortunately! On the other side of town is the best way to say it. I'm just never over there! The pizza is awesome! I can only imagine how the rest of the food tastes!
Best pizza in the area hands down. Skip Gino's, Vincents, Frantonis, Spuntino etc. I order take out only but I can see how dining in may feel a bit intrusive. Grandma pizza FTW.
Just a good casual Italian place. Everything is done pretty well with good prices. I really like their calamari, garlic knots, and pasta. I also like that they give free bread, it's a nice snack while driving. It's a lot better than other pizza places in the garden city, mineola, Roslyn, Williston area and I've tried a lot.
This is the real deal of great home cooked Italian dinners. Everything is made to order. Nothing is frozen and thawed. Pizza is the most delicious of all of Long Island. Friendly staff all around. It's your new go to restaurant for home cooked Italian dinners.
Incredible food everything's fresh, staff were on top of things (ask for Kim she was the best )...friendly atmospheres, comfortable, and casual ....has been around for 20 years, there's a reason,👌 they're always good.
The best Italian Food I've ever had. You can't go wrong with any dish, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. I eat there at least 3 times a week. I love Da Angelo's, it's the best !!
Love this place. Their Grandma pizza is my favorite crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor. I get it almost every time.
Good pizza! A little difficult to park though
Hopelessly addicted to the margarita pies. The guys here are good dudes and always have no problem with my unusual orders. (I order pies with the cheese unmelted and cold to eat later)
Da Angelo Pizzeria: A Hidden Gem of Pure Pizza Perfection Da Angelo Pizzeria isn’t just another pizza spot—it’s a place where flavor, tradition, and quality come together in the best way possible. Every bite here feels like a love letter to real, old-school pizza-making. The Grandma Pie? Absolutely flawless—thin, crispy, and loaded with rich, tangy sauce that keeps you coming back for more. The Sicilian Pie? Light, airy, yet perfectly crispy on the outside—exactly how it should be. Their classic Pizza is everything you'd hope for in a New York slice, and the Sicilian Pizza (yes, I had to go for both) is just as incredible. The Garlic Knots? Soft, garlicky, and packed with flavor—dangerously addictive. And if you’re in the mood for something special, the Pizza Pescatore is a seafood lover’s dream, bringing a perfect balance of fresh toppings and bold flavors. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the rest of the menu is just as amazing—because when a place does pizza this right, you just know everything else is top-tier. Da Angelo Pizzeria is the real deal, and absolutely worth the visit!
Best grandma pizza that exists. Period. It’s hard to find a place where the pizza and restaurant food are equally delicious and I can assure you, this place is the best. Staff is friendly and the food is out of this world.
Been having lunch and or dinner here the 35 views. It is always fantastic. The staff of the best the pizza and the food on the best
Outstanding food and service. Love the grandma and Sicilian slices along with various entrees. Never had a bad meal here. Crowded so you have to have patience if waiting for a table.
Neighborhood staple. Good pizza, although a little bit pricy for other items.
I used to be a weekly customer here, recently i couldn't go because i changed jobs. Always had their margherita and it never disappointed me, I've tried so many different pizza place but never got the taste similar to this. The owner is very friendly always happy and friendly with customers. I was always greeted with a smile by the staff members. I really hope i find time to visit this place again in the future
Food was unexpectedly very good.
Great neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently good with good selections and variety. The gems here are the employees particularly the guys that make the pizzas. They are friendly and pleasant. Mimo has been there for years making pizza and is an asset to the owners. I can say that he is the magnet for our family to come back time and time again.
We absolutely love this pizzeria. It has become a "go-to" for us and order often (perhaps too often, lol). The food, the staff, the delivery, and the prices are excellent. So happy that they are in my neighborhood! Great Job Folks!!!!
The pizza is one of the best on Long Island.. my kids can’t get enough nor can my brother. D’Angelo is a family own business and local that I love and encourage you to support as well.
Delicious pizza, friendly staff and looked nice for a pizza place.
If you want the best pizza, here is your spot ,I mean its that damn good
Great food. Big portions. Awesome servers with a good attitude. I will definitely be going back for more!
When you’re New to the area and you find the place that feels like Home! best attitude and especially the best food, it makes you feel good. These guys are amazing , Andy and peter let my daughter make pizza and always treat me like a regular much respect ! ✊
Ordered a Rigatoni with meat sauce. The pasta was nicely boiled. Very nice texture. (Actually Al dente haha) The meat sauce was really good. Very homemady with the peas. Delicious . I have ordered baked clams before and it was as delicious and well prepared. You can tell they actually care about their products.
This price for a pizza was disturbing for some reason. $27 is just too much for half cheese half pepperoni. The pizza was rushed too which meant the pepperoni was not cooked enough for me. I dont know. Still giving 5 stars for the effort of the crew. I will try again one day. If not better it will be 4 stars.
da-Angelo was kind enough to sponsor food for our organization’s event. The children finished the pizza so quickly and it was delicious. Everyone was appreciative! Will definitely continue to support this local small business. Thank you
My son has been raising about this pizzeria for ages and I never had the opportunity to stop there. Recently, I was in the area and ordered a grandma pie as well as a Sicilian pie. Well, sons know best and his opinion was spot on. The best Sicilian pizza I have ever had, hands down and this is not my first pizza rodeo. Superior crust! The grandma pie was also a home run. The staff was super friendly as well. This is pizza big league!!!!!
Da Angelo strives to be that neighborhood place which is cozy, staff like family and food which is close to home made . If you love it spicy, ask Sergio to make that special hot sauce ( garlic- olive oil- crushed red peppers) and it will surely fire up your taste buds. The quality of food is much better than some high end Italian restaurants in our area.
Really nice place here stopped in for a slice and saw a margarita slice and I was amazed how delicious it was! So much sauce very flavorful nice amount of fresh mozzarella and a nice crisp to the pizza it was as perfect as you can get can’t wait to try other slices and food definitely will be back!
Very traditional pizzeria. The grandma slice is excellent! The traditional Napoleon slices however are average, large but average. Unfortunately I found it a little soggy.
I got a Sicilian pie from here. While it was the same price as Vincent's nearby, the Sicilian pie here was a lot thinner and smaller. However it was more flavourful and the quality of the food was overall better. If money isn't a concern, then Dangelo is a great choice, however a more economic and tasteful experience can be made nearby.
Excellent service. Wonderful people there. Food was very good. I didn't love the crust, but my husband did. I'd go back.
Classic pizza. Busy takeout. Dining area full at peak times with lots of regulars. A local eatery which has soft shelled crabs (When in season, made 3 ways or your choice) on the menu. Professional cook & wait staff. Parking lot is small but parking on street is never a problem. Been going there for 15 years.
Food was good but they rushed us through our meal. Didn’t wait for us to finish our salad before bringing our appetizer then rushed us by bringing our main course. The table was small so I could not finish the course I was eating because they were bringing out the next course. People need time to eat. They should watch to make sure you are done with one course before bringing another. Otherwise the food was good.
Classic long island pie done with very good ingredients, very, very solid taste. The place looks like a neighborhood staple., Lots of people there.
Great experience! Friendly staff and a very cozy vibe.
Wasn't given bread (possibly because we only ordered pizza). Water was warm, pizza was wonderful. Lovely atmosphere, male paid for our lunch and asked if we wanted desert. Highly recommend.
I've visited da-Angelo pizza several times and they serve decent pizza at a reasonable price. They have a small selection speciality slices and rolls that are heated to perfection in just a couple of minutes. The restaurant is small but well-kept and inviting. The decor is a mixture of a classic Italian pizzeria fused with wood paneling making it feel like you are also in a cabin in the woods. They have a beautiful fireplace as a centerpiece and a somewhat spacious dining floor. I would not come here with a big party since they only have one large table in the back. The staff is very kind and makes it feel like you are part of their family while you are there. They are quick to take your order but still take their time to talk to you and make friendly conversation. They have a small parking lot but I am assuming that it gets busy during the weekends so you may have to park on the street. The reason I gave this place four stars instead of five is solely because of their pizza taste and quality. Although it is good, I have had better slices in the area and have also had many more options to choose from in local restaurants. I have heard that the dining menu is very good here so I may come back for that, which can possibly change my rating. -------- PLEASE READ: I am starting a new Pizza Review Series in which I will be rating slices from over 30 different pizzerias in my local area in Nassau County, Long Island. I will use a regular cheese slice as a baseline and a specialty slice as added depth to the review. These rating are solely based on my opinion and taste preference so please do not be offended if one of my ratings does not align with your opinion on the pizza. I am excited to have da-Angelo as my first review in this series! #1 da-Angelo Pizzeria Cheese slice: a solid slice with a generous amount of cheese and sauce. Sauce could have had more seasoning. Crust was thin and crispy but a little dry. Not too greasy and minimal oil drip. Overall, I would rate this slice an 8/10. Specialty slice: For my specialty slice, I ordered a white slice. This was a full cheese slice with no sauce but in my opinion, there was too much ricotta and not enough mozzarella. The ricotta was overpowering and it felt like there was too much mush on the slice. There was also no hint of garlic, which would have gone perfect on this pizza. The crust was a little thicker and softer compared to the cheese slice. Again, not too greasy and minimal oil drip. I would rate this slice a 6/10. For more ratings please see my Pizza Ratings Collection on my Yelp profile.
Expect your pizza to be a little bit burnt. Great potential for 5 star pizza place, if they would turn down oven temperature and take more time. Love the Grandma and Grandpa pizzas.
Sadly need to update my review (keeping the OG below). When I first started coming here, I’d order the pepperoni pie on occasion, which came loaded with pepperoni and warranted the price but each slice now only has 3-4 pepperoni slices, which in that case, I’d rather save my money and order a regular pie. —— Order from here on occasion and I’m ALWAYS impressed. The staff is caring and energetic, and the PIZZA is delish! My go-to is a plain pie but will occasionally get the pepperoni which is just as good. They have pastas and other entrees. Great portion sizes for the price. Havent sat down and ate but every time i pick up my order the place is packed! Will definitely continue ordering from here.
When you order a pizza there, you must remind them the following. 1. put sauce. 2. Put sauce. 3. Don't burn the pizza. I used to have a good pizza from them.
Update - giving 1 star for service. Guy in the glasses is extremely rude, impatient and obnoxious. I was deciding on whether to order another item or not and he couldn't wait 10 seconds, loudly made a rude comment to his coworker while I was standing in front of them, something along the line - this guy can't make up his mind while rolling his eyes. If the pizza were just decent and not great, I would've left. He should be fired. Along with the coworker who stood there and didn't say anything. Horrible customer service. ----- Must try pizza. So good and represents that NYC style of pizza so well. The tomato sauce on the pizza tastes unique to this restaurant and I like it! Even the basic pasta has flavor with chunks of real garlic. Love the crispy yet chewy pizza crust. Presentation makes you want to eat a whole pie by yourself. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Restaurant is clean. Definitely a place to add and save.
I went in to what seemed to be a relatively small restaurant to pick up a pie and a few other things. I was not even greeted at all, the three men behind the counter acted like they had a chip on their shoulder and didn’t seem friendly because they wanted to be but because they had to be. The pizza was fine al though grossly over priced, the stromboli wasn’t even cooked all the way through. For a slice, a half of a stromboli and a large soda it was over $13, that’s nuts for food that’s not even cooked all the way through. I’m not sure if it was a bad dining experience one time or that’s how they always are but I thing I’ll go elsewhere from from now on.
Everything was extremely cold and this sausage and broccoli rabe hero I got was the smallest hero ever. Shouldn’t be charging 12 dollars for that. Grandpa slice didn’t even feel like it was in the oven. Never again.
You're going to read a whole lot of reviews about this place from those who have been loyal to them for years or even friends and family of the place. They have been in the area for a long time and about 20 years ago when I first tried them they were great. 10 years ago they were good. 5 years ago they were "meh". You cannot the seafood to be fresh, but every time I get seafood here, it seems to be so overly frozen that it falls apart during the cooking process. The clam sauce. Over seasoned to hide the age of the shellfish. An 18" plain measured 16.6" (doesnt shrink during bake, no). No I do not expect them to measure the dough once it has been worked but I do expect them to use enough dough so that they can make an 18" pie. I think the pie was pre-baked because the cheese was coagulated, the pie was over-baked (too many dark spots) and the oil from the cheese was being released by the time it arrived. I have some extensive experience with pizza and I know this was not what I would call "fresh". For nearly $20, this I find bothersome. Their chicken parmigiana with spaghetti. I feel as if the chicken was premade at least a day before because it was tough, not at all tender. I thought the portion was a bit small but I was assured that the container was too large and gave it that illusion. So being the pragmatic individual I am, I decided to deconstruct the dish. I remove the cheese (not hard, it was barely room temp when it arrived, cheese was already hard) and stacked all the fillets on a scale. 0.68 lbs in total. This was equivalent to 2/3 of a half a chicken breast. Let's put it more into perspective. a high price for chicken breast would be $3.99/lb. So technically this was $2.71 worth of chicken. I'll give them the additional $1.28 to account for the cheese, breading, sauce and container. Considering the spaghetti was low-grade pasta, I would guess that in bulk it costs $1/lb and the quantity provided was about 1/3 lb pre-cooked. So for $4.29 they charged $20. Also when you get a platter, do NOT expect bread. They give you 2 of these old, tiny baked knots of dough and some sort of wanna-be garlic bread. This is not bread. This is what I expect at a massive chain/franchise who has not a clue about Italian food, not an Italian-owned Italian restaurant/pizzeria. Rice Balls! Who can screw those up? Well... No. They didn't. They were okay. Not "WOW these rice balls rock!", no not that. They were decent. A bit small but decent. The Eggplant rollatini... Still very good. The sauce I am bothered by. It used to have real tomato and garlic flavor but now it seems that someone in the back just popped open a can and heated it up. Still this dish is one of my all-time favorites and they do it pretty well. There are many places lately who are up-charging. I get it. You have workers, utilities and all, but considering the sauce was straight out of a can (really unimpressive and plain) and again the food seemed old, I am sure I will be throwing away the menu. If I owned a place like this, I would ask myself, would I be proud to serve this to my family and call it authentic? Oh no I would not! That is the goal. I always believe that if I can make a perfect dish once, I have NO excuse for not making it perfect every time I make it. I would consider it a personal insult to myself if I did not and I would not, could not fault anyone else for my failure. Sorry to say I believe Da Angelos is on their way down that road. They seem to have given up on providing quality food. They probably believe at this time it's simply a business to pump out edible (or barely) food and charge market prices. Market prices are subjective and that they should remember. One of the considerations for market prices is quality and that is lacking here. I know they can do better. I've had better from them in the past. I do believe they can bring that back if they truly wanted to. But for now, I will rate them on what I can and sadly only one dish stood out.
I wish I could of enjoyed the pizza but there was spit in between the layer of the pizza Taste good Just couldn't eat very Disrespectful and very disappointing My mom most of the time Would buy your pizza And I used to be so excited to eat your guy's pizza Because it's was my favorite pizza restaurant All will Anyway's have an amazing day And God bless And please try to do better
I really enjoy the Pizza for Da Angelo's. I decided to order dinner from here tonight as well and was very surprised with what I received. The lasagna I got tonight was very bad. The pasta was dry and seemed to have been made a long time ago. It wasn't fresh at all. I tried eating it but to be honest I couldn't. They are great people at the restaurant but definitely need to do better when it comes to this. Hope this was a one time mistake. I hope to be able to update this soon with a better review but I don't recommend it at this time.
I’ve been ordering and doing walk-ins for awhile now but yesterday was an ordeal. I had friends who just arrived from Canada and ordered some pies. After over an hour I called and was told it was delivered... to the wrong house!!! I don’t know if they were lying about it bc they didn’t make our order but our address is one and only. He kept insisting he delivered to that address. We order out a lot and never had an issue with having another house with our same address. All I really wanted was an apology but it was hard to get one. All he was saying was “ok” and “ok”. He finally apologized and was even told that they couldn’t resolve the issue and I had to deal with it. All he could’ve done was apologize from the beginning and maybe offered to get another pie started. But none of those. Very bad customer service. Unfortunately, I’ll have to find another go-to pizzaeria bc they won’t get my business again. It’s a shame
Terrible pizza, the buffalo chicken tasted nothing different than I've tried in other restaurants and the bread on the pizza tasted like it was sitting out for too long. The chicken tasted so artificial I would've been better off eating ellios pizza. Never coming back to this place.
The owner Angelo had a great restaurant, food was always fresh and good size portions since his son has taken over the prices are high servings are much smaller and the attitudes are horrible especially from the the pizza cook with the red hair. There are many other restaurants in the area that are much better without the attitude.
The man (cashier), the one with the glasses is really rude. Don’t come to this place ever. The owner should fire him, all I can see he doesn’t care about the business nor the costumers.
We always order from DaAngelos in Williston Park. Getting tired of Pizza my husband and I each tried a pasta dish linguine with red and linguine with white clam sauce. It was horrid!!! The clams tasted rubbery no flavor!!! I will never order anything more than pizza from here again.
The Cesar salad was really bad for the price. The chicken was cold, the Cesar dressing was more like ranch than anything els & the croutons tasted like they were store bought and that was just a salad I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon.
I ordered a chicken panini a few days ago. Food is great. Initially I had wanted food to go, however after a minute I changed my mind saying that I wanted food to stay. The guy at the counter got super angry and mad. Then he told me "I'm not a mind reader". What kind of customer services is this? Terrible as far as customer service. Not a big deal if a customer decided to stay instead of taking to go. Won't be visiting here again due to lack of decent customer service. Also, my manager had a terrible experience there to for take out order. Usually when someone calls an establishment you say " "Da Angelo". You don't say "Hey" on the phone. It doesn't sound like a pizzeria establishment or sound professional.
I ordered chicken panini today, food is great. Initially I said I wanted food to go, went to my car and came back only a minute later. I then changed my mind and said I wanted it to stay. Owner got furious and seemed very angry. Then he told me "I'm not a mind reader." Thats now how to treat a valuable customer, been coming there for a few years now. Im still confused at his reaction, makes no sense. First time I had a bad experience as far as customer service is concerned.
While staying nearby at a hotel I had a dinner delivered. I called and explained that since I was in a hotel I would need utensils included with my order. The order arrived without any utensils. I called twice but they just hung up on me.
Horrible experience. Waited 25 minutes for an order I placed 45 mins ago. Chefs are lazy and rude
A hair was in my rice ball and the manager said there was nothing they could do.
Recently raised prices on the entire menu. Used to be great food at great prices. Now, not so much. The sauce used to be unique but now tastes the same as every other pizza place around here. Sad they seem to have decided to cut corners to save a few bucks and ruined what used to be the best pizza place in town. Good things don't last forever.
We’re proud of who we are, just like you’re proud of being Italian — and respect goes both ways. When Indians come into D’Angelos, we expect the same courtesy and respect that we show every culture here in Long Island. We believe in dignity, empathy, and pride. That’s how we carry ourselves, and that’s how we treat others. So let’s keep it simple — be respectful, and you’ll always get respect back. We’re all guests here, and there’s room for everyone when there’s mutual understanding.
"Bad food, even worse service. A complete letdown. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone We were charged $8.00 for sauce on Raviolis!!! absurd, unacceptable and shame on them!! $20 for raviolis????
Went herd simple dinner asked for ravioli with pomodoro sauce instead waitress up charges the ravioli from $15 to 18 then charges another $2 fee I asked why I busted changed sauces ? They were rude about trying to up charge unprofessional and nasty . I said fine I will pay your fee next time you should tell the customer before hand it’s that big of a deal ! I will never go back and make sure I tell everyone I know how horrible this restaurant treats its people who are good loyal customers. Shame on you ! As far as the guy manger black hair and glasses go back to charm school …. Mr unprofessional manger causing a scene in the restaurant over a change of sauce !
So I asked to be delivered to my job a pizza and garlic knots through uber... Came in Uber driver very professional Pizza came burned and tasting like burned Called to complain and the person that answered the phone doesn't know English I've waited after requested to wait for another person and the person answers me like if I was a new call that just came in .. BAD BAD BAD NOT ORDERING AGAIN
