I recently hosted my daughter-in-law’s baby shower at Castillo Craft Bar & Kitchen, and I can’t say enough about how incredible the entire experience was. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. I worked closely with Amy throughout the planning process, and she was an absolute dream to work with. She made the entire process effortless. Her professionalism, kindness, truly helped me bring the event to life. The wait staff was beyond exceptional ~ attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. Every guest felt taken care of from the moment they arrived. And the food? Impeccable! Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious ~ our guests are still raving about it! Our group had the most memorable day, and I could not have asked for a more perfect venue or team. If you’re looking for a place to host a special event, look no further than Castillo Craft Bar & Kitchen. They helped create a day our family will never forget. Thank you again to Amy and the entire staff — you made this celebration truly magical. 💖
Oh. My. Gosh. Came from Grand Rapids, MI. To celebrate our 15 year anniversary & IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The drinks at the bar, 30 min before our reservation were incredible. Johanna was PHENOMENAL. Drinks were well worth the price and service was great. Kendall, our server- so sweet and attentive. Offered us a complimentary dessert and champagne/ took advantage of the champagne - she took a photo and was so so great. DANIEL. The manager, chatted with us twice- as business owners, we were blown away by the attentiveness and hospitality and enthusiasm and genuine enjoyment he had while chatting it up. 10/10 recommend. Make your reservation and expect an amazing time.
Had a great experience at Craft Bar and Kitchen! Our server, Phoebe, welcomed us right away and sat us down with such a friendly, warm vibe. The manager on staff was absolutely on top of everything — she noticed our food was taking longer than usual, checked in immediately, and realized the kitchen hadn’t received our order. She handled it with so much kindness and professionalism and made sure everything was fixed quickly. Excellent service from start to finish. We really appreciated how attentive and thoughtful the whole team was. Highly recommend! I forgot to get picture we were hungry had beet and goat cheese salad and it’s amazing!
I have tried to make it in several times to dine at Castillo Craft kitchen and today the stars aligned properly. I was looking for something different for breakfast and this spot did not disappoint. I chose the braised short ribs with a fried egg and potatoes. I’m not sure who gave these short ribs their award winning designation, but it was well deserved! Great flavor, egg was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were spot on as well.
So delicious 😋 I’m glad we came to a real restaurant tonight. This was a total different experience from last night at Craves restaurant in Flagler Beach. I’ll consider this my birthday 🎂 celebration 🥳 the evening was perfect
Kristen was our server and she was amazing! I asked for a vegetarian dish and there was a small discrepancy but kristen fixed it in seconds! The drinks were absolutely fabulous! Im a bartender and I'm telling you...get the espresso martini!
I had a very good experience here in this restaurant. The food was simply delicious and the staff ate great. Jack is the best server ever and Daniel is a wonderful manager. I really recommend this place! It’s perfect!
This is one of my favorite restaurants to come to! They have amazing food and delicious drinks — I absolutely love the espresso martini. Daniel and the entire staff are always so friendly and accommodating, which makes every visit such a great experience. I recently went to their Fall Beer Dinner and it was incredible — the food pairings, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. Highly recommend visiting!
Wow, phenomenal. The flavor in every bite, cleanliness, efficiency of the staff, and experience was exceptional. Our server, Angelica, really went above and beyond and added to our experience. The Brussels sprouts were absolutely delicious, bourbon salmon was rich in flavor with broccoli and cauliflower, fish and chips were the perfect mix of batter & fish, and the key lime cheesecake was a light sweet treat. The drinks were also exceptional! Highly recommend.
I can't really rate on the atmosphere cause my fiance went and ordered the food and brought it to our room. I ordered the chicken wings with a rub. Those are probably one of the best wings I've ever had in my life. I also ordered the shrimp cocktail. Great food all around!
The restaurant was super pleasant, clean, and organized. The waiter was really attentive and made sure we had a great time. The food was delicious and tasty! They should add more coffee options, though. They only have black coffee, no iced or matcha.
I was a little leery about eating at this restaurant because it seemed too ritzy. Sometimes restaurants that are on the high end side, tend to serve less food and the experience is just okay. We were hungry and needed to find a breakfast place and decided to give them a try since it was close to the hotel we stayed at. We were seated immediately, yes! Our server met us at the table quickly with a huge smile. Everything in the restaurant was cutely designed. Even the small touches were not missed when they added the sweeteners in a cute little container on the table. It was almost missed because I thought it was just decoration. We ordered biscuits and were told that it may take fifteen minutes. It was no problem for us. But, it was a nice touch of class when they brought us out a bowl of fruit for the inconvenience. My omelette was so delicious. The meal was so filling that we bypassed lunch!

A beautiful atmosphere within the Historic Renaissance Hotel in downtown St Augustine. Grayson was a fabulous waiter, very attentive to accommodating & inquiring into allergy & food options. The brussels sprouts and Parmesan truffle fries were amazing.

We booked dinner here and were coincidentally staying at the hotel. I saw that this restaurant had great reviews and wanted to check it out before I realized it was attached to the Marriott Renaissance. It was delicious and I would recommend it even if you’re not staying at the hotel! We started at the bar and got the smoked old fashioned and the Matanzas Mist! Both were equally delicious! When we sat, our waiter Graham, was so helpful! He helped us pick out the Spanish Onion Soup, the Chopper Caesar del Castillo, and the Citrus Slow-Braised Short Rib. The croutons on the Caesar were some of the best we ever had, as they were perfectly crunchy, but still soft enough to cut. Then the short rib is award-winning, and it was easy enough to see why! It was amazing! We mentioned in our reservation that it was our anniversary, and Graham brought us out glasses of champagne to celebrate! It was an amazing evening and we will definitely be back!
So my husband and I went to Saint Augustine for the evening. It was just a normal Tuesday date night for my husband and I. We chose to head to Saint Augustine to look at all of the beautiful lights during the Christmas season. We decided to go to this restaurant, we walk into a very friendly atmosphere greeted by smiles and welcomes. We decided to sit at the bar where we met some very talented and knowledgeable bartenders. The drinks were wonderful, well-made and had some great conversations with other guests. When our table was ready we went and sat in this beautiful room .The service was impeccable. We were even met with the Manager who came over and said hello. Now with the hundreds of restaurants in Saint Augustine, all the same price point this one is worth a try. They go well beyond and they understand the meaning of hospitality. My husband and I would like to thank the entire staff. Wonderful job!!!!

Definitely recommend advanced reservations on the weekends but well worth it. We wondered in on a week night and we're absolutely impressed. The apps were delicious, especially the steak tartare, and the beet and goat cheese salad were phenomenal. The braised short ribs were also ridiculously good. Kids menu has quite a few options, all good. The service was impeccable. Dasha was one of our servers and she was absolutely on point. We ended up eating there every day of our vacation. Probably gonna stay at that hotel as well next time, just so that's our on-site restaurant. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely time and our server, William was absolutely AMAZING and kind and gracious. He (and our family and friends) is the reason we had an amazing time - hence why he was tipped as well as he was 😉 We had walked in without a reservation and the receptionist said that while they were fully booked, we could sit on the patio and she’d let the server know we were out there. After about 30 minutes, we finally went in and let them know we were still waiting. Then William showed up and made up for the lack of initial service. The food itself was mediocre - my sister and I’s flounder was below average for such an upscale restaurant, borderline inedible, way overcooked and rubbery. The short rib was incredible according the men in the party. The beef tartar was ok, a whole lot of sauce and not a whole lot of actual meat - and we’ve had better at a less expensive establishment where expectation was not as high. I hope that the management and owners pour a lot of more energy into ensuring quality of food. Just because it’s a tourist heavy town, doesn’t mean the food can’t be excellent. We go to St. A several times a year and would have enjoyed dining here if it was better food because we truly enjoyed William’s attentive hospitality and allowance of dogs on patio. Thank you William for making sure we were happy the whole time after we met you!
10/13/25: torched apple salad… delicious! The strong blue cheese offsets the sweet dressing, dried cranberries and dried cherries. I would have like to see a little more savory added to the salad, like maybe Kalamata olives instead of the dried cherries, but overall I enjoyed this salad and would order it again. The crab cakes however, that’s where I’m removing a star. The price is listed at $32, it seems like an upscale restaurant; so I was expecting lump crab meat with little breading. As soon as it arrived and I saw that it’s 3 crab cakes and I barely saw any crab meat popping out from the breading, I knew it wasn’t going to be what I was expecting. The description does not say the number of crab cakes; maybe that would’ve given me a hint it wouldn’t be chunks of crab meat. So yeah, it was basically traces of crab meat with a whole lot of breading. The remoulade sauce was tasty, but I would not order these again. The staff behind the bar, a gentleman and a woman named Katie, were great. They kept following up with the kitchen to make sure my food was coming out. They both asked me how my food was and I gave them my honest opinion about both dishes. They both understood what I was hoping for and so we chatted about making good crab cakes at home. They’re definitely the kind of people you want behind a bar, social, pleasant, and follow through.
You will love this place. Attached to a beautiful classic hotel in St. Augustine, this restaurant and bar will not disappoint. Also, sit outside on the wrap-around porch.

The service and atmosphere here is wonderful. The servers are very kind and attentive. However, the food was not as good as we expected it to be. We tried many different plates, and out of them all, the shrimp cocktail was probably the best. The others, a couple appetisers and the cavatelli, seemed like the chefs put too many strong, powerful flavours together. Rather than flavours being complimentary, they clashed and in our opinion, ruined the dishes. Presentation was fantastic, but taste wasn’t too great.

Honestly they missed the mark at this place. The bread came out hard and tough and it was $8 for 4 Hawaiian style rolls. The ceviche tasted like they just used a squeeze lemon bottle of juice to soak some chopped fish and the toast was highly burnt for the appetizer. My water glass had stains of lipstick and food on it from the people before me. The steak and frites were decent, and cooked exactly how I ordered it, and the short ribs had great flavor, I recommend the brussels sprouts. They did remove the items off the bill that were not great, and the service was absolutely phenomenal our wait staff was super friendly and attentive (great job there) The best part of the meal honestly was the pumpkin espresso martini and it's only seasonal, I would go back for a drink but def not the food.
As much as I wanted this to be a great dinner, it was not. On a positive note the scallop appetizer was pretty good and the staff was very nice. From a food standpoint …, my short rib was decent , but have you ever had a meal that had plenty of gravy, but was still dry…. That was my short rib. But that was not the issue . My wife who loves duck ordered the duck, medium rare…. When it came out, there was zero pink. When it came out the second time one piece had a little pink. The second piece had no pink. This time they covered it in sauce, which continued to cook it and hide the fact that it wasn’t mid rare…. Read that again we paid $36 for a duck dish that had two slices of duck , one was pink, one was brown. not even half of the breast was on the plate… Pictured is the first plate that came out, see there are only two slices of duck, and both have no pink let alone mid rare…. I will give them this, though the accompaniments were pretty good, and the sauce on that dish was amazing… hence I didn’t put one star For a place with decent stars, we were very disappointed
