Food was great! I had the Low Rider with fried okra. It took a little longer than I hoped, but they were also busy and I am impatient. I will be back!
Great atmosphere and good was delicious. Very attentive, cordial and efficient staff.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spoons, a charming little diner that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. For my meal, I decided to try the meatloaf—and wow, I was not disappointed! It was absolutely amazing. The meatloaf was perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. It had a delicious homemade quality to it, and the sides complemented it perfectly. If you're a fan of comfort food, this dish is a must-try! I also have to mention the service. My waitress, Kimberly, was an absolute delight. Not only was she attentive and quick, but her kindness really made the experience special. She had such a warm and welcoming personality, and she made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her customers. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Spoons. Whether you're craving comfort food or just want a relaxed, friendly place to eat, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to return!
Cool little cafe in the heart of downtown McKinney. The food was really good. I had a pimento panini which i had never had that sandwich before and a cup of chili which was good. My wife had just avocado toast. All the food was good. And the atmosphere was nice and cafe-ish. My concern or low rating was on the person waiting on us. From the start she was very cold and not very personable. I dont know if it was just because it was after a big rush during the holiday season or the fact we were a two top that was sat at a 4 top at the end of her shift... but she was very abrupt and not friendly. From the get when we were asked if we knew what we wanted or needed to look at the menu, i stated it was our first time there and would love to see what they had... No recommendations nothing just walked away.. When we ordered our food i asked how big the panini was she said like the size you would make at home in a condescending manner. I normally dont make paninis at home and i make triple decker peanut butter mayo sandwiches so now im concerned .lol. but it just wasn't very helpful of a response. Just over all not friendly and or personable at all. So i will chalk it up to the holiday rush and maybe some customers were bad in front of us, but it would give me pause before coming again. We did drive over an hour to get to the square with this as our lunch choice. Overall the food was good and we had a good meal with that respect.
Our server Stephanie was an absolute pleasure this afternoon at Spoons. She was friendly, attentive, and made a perfect IPA recommendation—her description matched the taste exactly. She ensured our order was just right and made us feel truly appreciated as guests. Service like hers reflects so well on the establishment.
First of all, a HUGE shoutout to Christina! She made our entire experience phenomenal. TOP TIER customer service. I cannot recommend her enough. Friendly, kind, mindful, remembers, smiles, light hearted. Literally the most perfect waitress! Thanks girly!! Also, the food was good! 👍🏼
I ate here for the first time with my mom for early lunch/dinner. Our waitress, Christina, was polite and amazing! The food was so good, fresh and delicious. I had the chicken fried chicken sandwich and my mom had the BLT. Dessert was so good, made in house! Definitely will go again! 🥰
My wife and I are scouring the metroplex for the best breakfast date places, and Spoons is one of our favorites. The Chicken & Waffles is my personal favorite, with the chicken being perfectly seasoned and the waffles deliciously fluffy. My wife had the biscuits and gravy, and enjoyed them. I came back for another visit with my son (who is a very picky eater), and he had the Chicken Fried Steak and loved it, too.
Spoons is such a great place to grab a bit to eat. The staff is normally very friendly and helpful. I love their Chicken Fried Steak sandwich, it is so great (and cheaper than getting the actual chicken fried steak, and their both the same size). The mac and cheese is so creaming and delicious. The pepper fries is a great appetizer to dine upon while waiting for the rest of the food to arrive. I have had their breakfast burritos which are HUGE, and taste great, and made from fresh ingredients. We like getting the Spoons Punch as it has a great array of flavors that just pop with each and every sip. A friend got the Old Fashioned and said it was delicious!. We had a new waiter on Saturday, and he was very nice and helpful to all of us. We had three kids total with us (ours and our friends two kids). Our baby started getting roughty and loud (hey she is only three months), but they didn’t mind at all since the place was crowded with kids. The one thing I didn’t know is that ‘The Garage’ is only available to people if the entire party is 18 years of age or older, so it looks like we will not be visiting that area again anytime soon.

The wait wasn't too bad to get a table even though it's a smaller space, but the wait gor food was about 45 minutes! Our waitress had so many tables she wasn't super pleasant. Not awful just too rushed to care. The food was amazing! Best fried pickles I've ever had, the meatloaf sandwich was amazing and the burger was great! Skip the mashed potatoes- they gave zero flavor. Aside from that, it was great. I would recommend eating here.
McKinney has cute downtown, the cafe is like a cozy diner in an old 1920s building. We sat at the patio which welcomes pets too. There’s even the garage out back, a chill spot for drinks and snacks with the full menu. The place seems to be full usually. We had the not so simple breakfast which was tasty. I love their espresso shots! Will look forward to coming back as the service waas great, the lady was so nice. There seem to be lots of regulars who love this place !

The food was alright. My fiance's food came out cold, and severely underseasoned. My omelette came out piping hot, but my food also was underseasoned. The coffee was the best part of this cafe. It was delicious and I would absolutely recommend it. Another thing I experienced is although the menu says it is $0.50 to add a flavor to a coffee, I was charged $1.25. I did not mention this to my server, I paid my tab and left. I won't bother staff over 75 cents, I was just caught a bit off guard. Perhaps their prices have updated and she forgot to mention it to me. Either way, I am not sure if I would return for an almost 8 dollar coffee. The atmosphere was fantastic. I loved the look of it and it was lively but not too loud or crowded.
My wife and I heard about this place, and the ratings were good. When we got here, it took the waitress some time to get our order. The food wasn't that great. The only thing that tasted good was the greenbeans. It had sautéed red onions, which gave it a very good flavor. What was annoying is they kept the front door open and lots of flies were coming in. Kept shooing the flies away. Won't be coming back.

I'd be very curious to know if Spoons is one of those places that get most/all of their food from Sysco. They have some items that are pretty decent/interesting (fries), but some other items are really sterile or even odd tasting. (Chicken fried steak, chicken strips, burger) Owner/management - I don't care what you tell others, but if you AREN'T a sysco ran place, I really encourage you to go try some of those dishes at other local places, and realize how mediocre some of your main options are. It's kind of embarrassing. My family(60+) like this place, but to me its pretty inferior to other nearby options, and a bit expensive for what you're getting. $20 for chicken tenders, fries, and a drink - AND it tastes bad is kinda crazy.
Spoons Café - Downtown (McKinney) Nothing really to brag home about. Food was average, if you can qualify it as average. Home cooked meals taste better. Service was ok, not great. Came here with my family to enjoy a good lunch and service. They have a large picture of “D Magazine” claiming that they are good. That’s certainly not accurate. I did like the old feel to it, with old brick throughout interior. Made you feel like you stepped back in time. However, service was poor. As new customers were walking in, including my family, they would sit us down at a dirty table and ask if we wanted it wiped clean. That’s very unprofessional and I’m surprised the health department hasn’t paid them a visit. The pink rose cake looked very creative and delicious on the display. The old and foggy cover on it, wasn’t. It looked like it was purchased from Antique store. Food was very blend and average. Not sure in good faith I’d recommend this place.
