I've eaten at many good places, but this probably beats them all. The food is excellent. The staff is incredibly friendly and always available. The dishes are prepared quickly. The restaurant is rustic and very informal, but once inside, it feels like you've gone back 40 years. That's not a bad thing; on the contrary, it's one of those places that preserves memories of times gone by when everything "seemed nicer and simpler." But the best part is the price! For a first course, a second course with side dish, dessert, coffee, water, and house wine, we paid €15 each! I recommend it to anyone passing through because it's absolutely worth it. I hope to return in the future and find nothing has changed!

I came to Altare to see the glassblowing museum, and when I was done I discovered that my train back to Savona wouldn't be for several hours, so I had more than enough time to walk the narrow road up to this place. I speak a moderate amount of Italian, but nowhere near fluency, and the owner tending the bar was very kind and welcoming. I had a nice salad and a great plate of roast beef and a big side of fried potatoes. When they labeled this place as 'home cooking' that evocation is absolutely accurate and I couldn't have been happier walking back to the train station with a full stomach and a spring in my step, and for just €10. However many years later in my life, when I come back to Altare, God willing, I'll make sure to pay this place another visit.

This is the quintessential inn. Don't expect great luxury or unnecessary frills; here, they get straight to the point: a decently long menu, good, simple dishes, rustic decor, and friendly, welcoming staff. Five stars because, for this type of restaurant, they're truly excellent. You can eat à la carte or on request, or for lunch on the weekend, enjoy the set menu (abundant appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, drinks, dessert, and coffee) for €27. Today, I had a first course, a second course with a side dish, water, and coffee for €12. Establishments like this need to be preserved because they care about substance, and they do it honestly. When it came time to pay, the POS wasn't working, so they waited for us to withdraw cash without any problems. Of course, all with a receipt!! 👍

Se cercate un ristorante elegante e ricercato, la Trattoria K2 di Altare non fa per voi. Se invece desiderate un'esperienza autentica, in un ambiente spartano ma familiare, dove la sostanza e la convivialità la fanno da padrone, allora questo è il posto giusto. Appena varcata la soglia, si viene avvolti da un'atmosfera d'altri tempi, accogliente e informale . Il patron Fabio, vero personaggio e anima del locale, ti accoglie con simpatia e ti fa sentire subito a casa, come se fossi un vecchio amico . La filosofia qui è semplice e chiara: cucina casalinga, abbondante e di qualità, a un prezzo onestissimo per piatti sono quelli della tradizione, semplici ma gustosi . Il menù a prezzo fissa è un vero e proprio trionfo di sapori con una buona scelta di antipasti, primi, secondi, dolce, caffè, vino/acqua . Il tutto con un rapporto qualità-prezzo che definire imbattibile è poco. Certo, non aspettatevi lussi o fronzoli perchè qui si bada alla sostanza. È il luogo ideale per una pausa pranzo in compagnia di colleghi, una cena spensierata tra amici o un pranzo della domenica in famiglia. La Trattoria K2 è una di quelle realtà che andrebbero preservate: un posto genuino, gestito con passione da una famiglia che porta avanti una lunga tradizione. Consigliatissima ma è meglio prenotare.

Quei posti veraci in via d’estinzione. Manco le insegne (la proprietaria / cameriera “ce le hanno staccate con i camion”). Pieno di locali e non. Pasta un po’ troppo cotta ma tutto genuino e prezzi d’altri tempi.

Non so se ci siano due locali con lo stesso nome, nella stessa via, o nello stesso posto due sale una tipo mensa e una ristorante, oppure a mezzogiorno per imprese e gente che lavora funziona come mensa e la sera e i festivi in altro modo. Niente di quello che si vede nelle foto qui è stato offerto.. il cibo che abbiamo mangiato noi è da mensa (scarsa) mezze maniche precotte (e stracotte), sugo messo sulla pasta a cucchiaiate. Ordino roastbeef loro lo offrono con pomodorini lo dico ok. Mi portano due fette molto grosse e con i pomodorini buttati alla rinfusa sulla carne e conditi con olio aceto e leggero sentore di aglio (vedi foto). Conto totale: due primi, un secondo, un contorno, e un litro d'acqua €20. Unica nota positiva molto veloci nel servizio e noi molto veloce il mangiare ed andare proseguendo il nostro viaggio. Forse perché non eravamo del posto ma gente di passaggio? Altrimenti nessuna corrispondenza con le recensioni che ho letto e le foto che ho visto e nessun menù alla carta c'è stato proposto. ... e il POS è sempre non funzionante...
