Avis sur Elmo's Drive Inn Amarillo
I hadn't been here in years. Honestly, I had forgotten all about it. My wife and googled good hamburger spots and this popped up. Took me back and it was just like I remembered it. Great food! Nostalgic drive in where they come out to your car and take your order. Staff was great! Our new "Friday After Work" place!
Every thing was great! Everything is soo expensive it was over $50 for my husband and I
One of the best cheeseburgers I’ve even eaten. I’ve traveled the world for work and I always eat. Chicago, St. Louis, Miami, china, England, Russia. Excellent service , a little extra money I felt but well worth it. Only the best stay in business as long as this place has. A++
Great food, great service. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
Best burger in Amarillo Friendly staff and old school drive up vibes Highly recommend
Burgers and fries were delicious! I got an ocean water which was also sooo good!! 32$ for 2 double burger combos, fries and a large drink and supporting local? Absolutely an ace in my books🥰❤️
Trucker friendly no trailers good atmosphere been here back long time ago still here good food friendly staff quick service
Don't skip the ocean water. It was a nice surprise. Service was top notch. We stopped by on a slow afternoon and really enjoyed it here!
This is an old-time real drive-up hamburger place!! It was started around 1954-1959. The "car-hop" waitress came out to the car to take our order. It was very quick and very delicious! We got the steak sandwich, tater tots, and cherry limades. OMG!! We will be back!!
We ate here for the first time. We tried the cheeseburger, mushroom n Swiss, fries, tots, onion rings, mushrooms ,poppers and shakes. The burgers were juicy and great. Now that’s what a burger should taste like!!! The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside…..nice. Everything else was good too but the burger and fries were our favorites. Don’t be put off by the outside…cause it’s some good food being cooked up inside:)
Talk about a blast from the past. If you want to step back in time and experience a good old fashioned hamburger, this is the place for you. Onion rings and fried mushrooms were on point as well. Whenever I need a touch of Nostalgia, I will be returning for sure.
Amazing. I am so impressed and surprised. Looks can be deceiving because I thought this place was closed down! As soon as we parked we were immediately assisted. Ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with grilled onions and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had in my entire life. Also ordered steak fingers and fries with gravy, all delicious. Great service and great food, very filling. The only thing I can see needs improving is the menu sign to include prices. There are no prices and while the food was reasonably priced it is like ordering in the dark. For $20 we received the Swiss burger, large Coke, fries, steak fingers basket that came with fries and gravy.
Always give these guys a 5 rating.. They have been in business a very long time and are very consistent on their low prices.. Every order is always as you request and you always see a smile on the faces that take your order.. Very fast order out. So if you are just traveling through or your a resident; give this wonderful drive-in a try. HINT: Their double meat cheese burger w/fries is totally awesome...Go try it
The lady seemed bother , when I was waiting for my order and ask if she could put with my order a LG Cherry Limeade. Plus when she took my card she kept it until she brought my order out. Had I known she was gonna keep it the whole time I would of said either charge my order now and give my card back or charge when ya bring my order. I did NOT APPRECIATE it being kept that long !!! The food it's self was pretty good, But she didn't seem so nice.
Facebook exploded a couple days ago in a local restaurant group where someone asked about a good hamburger at a family-owned place. This was not the only place mentioned but it was possibly the most often mentioned. It made me want to go try them out again. I had come here a couple years ago but it was right before closing so I felt like I didn't get an accurate experience. The hamburger was good, definitely better than just about any fast food hamburgers but I didn't think it was as good as Coyote Bluff or Golden Light or Furrbies. The tater tots were wonderful and only $2 but there were only six or eight of them. Then again, I didn't really need any more. I tried their poppers which were only $3.50 for the smaller size. They were good and worth the money but a bit on the spicy side for me personally. Next time I want to try their chocolate malt at the recommendation of others but they were having problems with their ice cream machine this day so I couldn't order that. I've also heard good things about their cherry lime drink so I will get that another day also. Their prices are very very fair. Well worth the stop and a fun experience since it's hard to find drive-in restaurants like the old days just for the experience.
I've came over here only a few times but when I went yesterday, We ordered four burritos with Chili and Cheese, these are the small deep fried burritos that you can purchase from the store. The prices as of right now were saying $2.50 each on the outside menu (Might be different on the other menus) but somehow rounded up to be $24 for only four burritos, either we was charged too much or the prices are wrong on the menu. Overall the assistance was decent enough, the people were friendly and the food was alright, but probably will go elsewhere for cheaper burritos
Ive been coming to Elmos for years since i was a child! Today i call to order nachos because the lady was taking forever to bring my daughters card back. So I CLEARLY asked for nachos with meat and asked if it only came with meat and cheese. She asked me if I want peppers I said yea on the side. I get my nachos with no meat. It then takes forever once again for her to even acknowledge im calling her back. When I started heading towards the building she then asked me if I needed something and I told her I ordered my nachos with meat. She tried to tell me that I did not. I’m the one that called you. My daughter was sitting right next to me and heard the whole conversation. Instead of simply saying oh, I’m sorry I missed that she says well I’m going to have to charge you for the meat so I’ve been sitting here with my nachos for 20 minutes. My cheese is cold so now I have cold nachos. The correct way would’ve been oh, let me remake those for you. Worst experience ever! Have they changed owners?
