Carthay Circle is a contender for the best restaurant at Disneyland. It is hands down the finest restaurant. They lean into seasonal ingredients harder than any other establishment on the property, and utilize more advanced techniques. This makes the menu absolutely excellent, and always interesting. The standouts are the parker house rolls, served with a seasonal compound butter (the calabrian chili was my favorite), as well as anything that takes international inspiration. They know what they're doing and respect the origin and the craft. The wait staff is obviously trained in hospitality, though sometimes can feel stiff. But your water glass is never empty, and they are meticulous with the silverware. Add all this on top of a beautiful location that pays homage to some of Disney's earliest premieres in an elegant setting, and of course you're going to have a great experience. It's hard to pick a favorite between here and Blue Bayou, emotionally; but Carthay Circle is absolutely technically better. And as a side note, it's the only place in either park where you can get an espresso martini made with real espresso!
Dominic! This is an absolutely wonderful restaurant with food that will blow your mind. Let me start at the cocktail! I had the best Old Fashion in the State of California, and third best in the world! The bread rolls and butter were unbelievably good! My pork-chop was the best I’ve ever had! The ambiance is Disney outside and upscale quiet restaurant inside. I lead with Dominic so I could say, he was absolutely wonderful. I took his advice for my main course and he helped me pair a nice glass of wine to accompany. He was perfect! Definitely recommend!
BEST RESTAURANT IN THE PARKS We have never had anything less than an exceptional meal here. They are great for food allergies and go out of their way to give impeccable service.
This was my first visit to this restaurant. The restaurant is very nice for an in park restaurant. While I realize that it’s supposed to be a finer option than Blue Bayou, my family and I still prefer Blue Bayou over Cathay Circle. The staff is very friendly and responsive. We started our meal with the Oaxaca style braised short ribs. Everyone in my family enjoyed it. The Tetela was crispy and delicious. The meat was incredibly tender and well seasoned. The cheese and sauce really bright everything together. We ended up getting a second order. My eldest daughter got the grilled half chicken shawarma. She wasn’t super impressed by it. She let me try it and I agreed that it was nothing special. My younger daughter got the yogurt with granola and the rigatoni pasta. She enjoyed both. My wife got the hanger steak. I tried it and it was just okay. I got the special, which was seated tuna that night. That was fantastic. The dessert followed the trend of most of the rest of dinner and failed to capture our imagination. For the record, nothing was bad, the service was great. It’s just that there are better options at lower prices points at the Disneyland resort. We will most likely try it again next time and see if other choices work better for our tastes.
It's easily the best Mojito and Steak I've ever had. I can't complement this place enough. We had fantastic service and food, and the atmosphere was top class. I got a reservation 60 days out, at 6:30 pm out for my wife and 3 kids. We were able to walk right up and go in within about 5 minutes. The host led us up the elevator and to our table on the way he told us some of the history of the Carthay Circle Restaurant. I had the Char Siu New York Steak. $70 and worth every penny. The staff were very friendly, the place was spotless clean. The lighting was soft and warm, and even with it being quite full, the noise was very respectful and low. Honestly, I didn't even feel like we were at Disney California Adventure from the very second we stepped through the threshold. 10/10 would recommend, this luxury comes at a steep cost. We will absolutely be back.
Carthay Circle Restaurant is one of the nicest restaurants in Disney California. They have a rotating menu so it does change throughout the year. Our waiter was top-notch and the atmosphere is like an old Hollywood high-end restaurant. We got the Spanish Potato Croquettes as an appetizer and they were amazing. For my entrée, I got the steak and I loved every bite.
Felt like you were stepping into the 40s. Design of the restaurant breathtaking. Pictures of old Hollywood stars and a real historic feel.
Food: 4* Service: 5* Ambiance: 5* Enjoyed lunch here with colleagues. Unlike pre-Covid, there is inky a prix fixe menu for lunch on weekdays at $62 per person. However, you get to select an appetizer and a main course. Appetizers: I ordered the green chickpea appetizer (think falafel), it was tasty and surprisingly ample with 4 discs provided in a roasted red pepper sauce with pomegranate seeds 5*). My partner had the gazpacho, which was melon (cantaloupe) based. It wasn’t orange but tasted of cantaloupe and was white-ish. He said it was good and gave it 4*. A friend ordered the prosciutto bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes. She said it was fresh and juicy but small (4*). Main course: I ordered the chicken schnitzel. It was crispy and tasty, well seasoned and ample with two large flat chicken breasts it was filling (5*). My partner had the Santa Maria marinades trip-tip. I had a piece and it was pretty well seasoned, a good temperature, but was a very small portion (4 small end pieces). He and I would give it 4*. Another friend ordered the shrimp with gochujong and friend rice. They provided 4 lathe tail on jumbo shrimp and it was tasty. She gave it 5*. I tasted it and I agree. Dessert: the only option was a Mickey ice cream ‘pop’. It was fantastic. It tasted like a Ferrero Roche candy (minus the chocolate) over a vanilla ice cream scoop. As one would imagine, it was delectable. 5*
Our party of ten had the pleasure of dining at the Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney's California Adventure, thanks to a wonderful concierge at the Grand Californian Hotel who secured our reservation. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with exceptional service and promptly seated indoors on the elegant second floor. While the entire experience was delightful, the standout dish of the evening was undoubtedly the incredible pork chop. It was truly a showstopper – enormous, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. I wholeheartedly recommend sharing this magnificent cut with another person! My own entrée, the fresh black sea bass, was equally impressive. It was expertly prepared and absolutely delicious. Carthay Circle certainly offers a sophisticated dining experience and a taste of old Hollywood glamour within the park. While this was the most expensive meal we had during our Disney vacation, the quality of the food and the overall ambiance were undeniable. Our only minor note is that the prices felt a touch disproportionately high, but the exceptional pork chop alone makes this a restaurant worth experiencing. We'll definitely be recommending Carthay Circle to others!
We have been to Club 33 and Blue Bayou. I have to say I like this better. Great place to check out and the food was really good.
During a visit to California Adventure Park, I had the pleasure of dining at one of the restaurants, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The restaurant is super clean and has a very elegant atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was excellent—attentive and friendly throughout our visit, ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was equally delicious, with every dish we tried exceeding our expectations. The drinks were fantastic as well, perfectly complementing the meal. Overall, it was an awesome experience dining here, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting California Adventure Park!
I will never understand why anyone gave this restaurant less than 5 stars, it is absolutely incredible in every way possible. Carthay Circle was the best luxury restaurant I've ever been to, hands down. Their food? IT WAS THE BEST FOOD I'VE EVER HAD AT A RESTAURANT. I wish I could eat here every day. We simply went there because we were hungry and it was time for dinner, but little did we know, our minds were about to be blown out of the Galaxy. A huge bonus, we didn't need reservations! It was luxury, quality food served inside a beautiful restaurant with incredible history and absolutly wonderful staff. Even the bathrooms are beautiful! The waitstaff was out of this world. We were already enjoying ourselves and our waiter made everything so much better! He was so careful about my friends food allergies, incredibly knowledgeable about the restaurant history and LA in general (we got so many great tips on things to do). He also made so many Disney puns and jokes, I was laughing so much, it was wonderful. Plus, two of our friends even had upset stomachs from a day of rides and our waiter brought them ginger ale with bitters -- he was the very best. I wish I could remember his name so I could give him all the praise he deserves! If you're reading this and remember our group of 5 from 6/14/19 (we were celebrating two birthdays that neither person wanted to be celebrated haha), thank you SO much! We could tell how much pride you take in your job and your joy was infectious. The salmon was the best salmon I've ever had and everyone else felt the same about their respective dishes and drink choices. All good and drink here was expertly made with quality ingredients. Pro-tip, if you do go to Carthay Circle, don't just disregard the receipts and other papers, it helps you get into a special reserved spot for the World of Color!!!
Shout out to hostess Teresa and server Jay for the most magical dining experience! I mentioned this was our first visit to Carthay, and hostess Teresa gave us a wonderful table inside the lounge in a quiet corner. Our server Jay was quick to provide drinks and his best food recommendations. He was such a delight to talk to in between drinks and dinner, his charm and expertise were much appreciated! I highly recommend dining alfresco to get the Disney experience while staying in budget. Hubby's North African chicken was so dense and juicy!! He loved the rice and hints of lemon in the sauce. My pork belly baos were the perfect size for me (light eater) and were surprisingly filling as well. Overall we had an incredible time at the lounge. Hubby and I were so lucky to be amongst a warm and festive atmosphere; we loved the history behind the theming and hope to come back again soon to try the full menu!
Made dinner reservations 60 days in advance when the reservations released. Reservation was at 6:20 on a Saturday, the Disneyland app lets you check in 20 minutes early. We checked in at 6 and one minute later we got the confirmation to go inside. We checked in with the desk inside and a few minutes later we were walked upstairs to a table. Our waitress Jill was awesome, she answered questions about some cocktails and proactively tailored the drink to my fiance's preference. We had the house cheddar bread, very reminiscent of pullapart bread. It wasn't bad on its own, but calabrian chili butter was a delectable balance to the bread My fiance ordered the thick cut pork chop and loved it. The meat was cooked to perfection, just the right doneness. The sauce and apples were a great compliment to the pork chop. I ordered the special, a cavatelli pasta with lamb sausage, a kale pesto, butternut squash and mushrooms. Not something I would normally gravitate towards but it seemed interesting. It turned out to be a good choice. I cleaned the plate. We also had tea and the pumpkin chocoflan. The desert was small but amazing, unfortunately no pictures could be taken fast enough before it was devoured. The oranges and pomegranates paired eloquently with the flan. The pumpkin flavor got stronger in the middle which made the dessert even more enjoyable. Add the amazing service from Jill who kept the drinks refilled and genuine helpful demeanor and you have a perfect dinner. I was worried it would just be decent food with atmosphere at a Disney price, but I would put it on par with the quality of Hell's kitchen.
This was a one of a kind fine dining experience. We enjoyed their summer menu. It was so refreshing and rich. Our waitress Jill was so pleasant. I will come back to Carthay Circle any day. The chicken arepas are a great appetizer. Cannot skip their churro cheesecake for dessert!
We had heard that trying the Pear Martini at the Cathay Circle Restaurant was a must -- so we gave it a try. Definitely not disappointed. It was excellent and worth the wait and price. We paired it (no pun intended) with some appetizers (eg spicy crab spring rolls and lettuce wraps) that were delicious. Just know like with everything at Disney parks, the bill can be expensive. Overall, a great pit stop during a fun-filled day.
Wow what a place, the food, drinks, and atmosphere is so delightful. Felt like you were transported into time. Loved the vegetarian and vegan options, the drinks alone are worth the booking. Highly would recommend I have eaten here both inside and outside, I actually pretty outdoor dining since you can people watch and have a private experience.
Missing this magical place. Went for my birthday last year, pre-covid, pre-cancelling of annual passes. Food was phenomenal. Drinks were so good. Dill gin and tonics are life! We tried a few things, and it was delicious. I think they're only seating outside now... Not 100% sure. But can't wait for things to get back to normal and return for another great meal!
If I could give this a 10 star review, I would. This restaurant is beautiful and the food there was super delicious. The servers were really kind and very helpful. I love the customer service here, I felt very welcomed. Everything was super delicious, especially the spring rolls, ceviche, and pasta were my most favorite!!! (Seated on the first floor) It was so delicious that I had to tip the cooks. Not only that, since I loved the customer service, I wanted to tip them as well. :)
One of my favorite places to dine in Disney is Carthay Circle. 🍷 Surrounded in beautiful Art Deco architecture, Carthay Circle stands as the upscale dining option in California Adventure. The menu includes SoCal inspired seasonal flavors, courtesy of Chef Sutton. The restaurant itself is inspired by the Carthay Circle Theater, which was built in 1926, and played a wonderful role in the beginning of Disney. In fact, it was this theater which first showed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. But, what about the food? This glazed salmon was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly, the sauce mixed perfect with the crisp crunch on the outside of the salmon. There was the perfect amount of noodle to compliment the salmon. But the real winner of this meal were the tacos. Oh. My. Goodness. They were so delicious, I had to order a second round! Have you ever dined with Carthay? #DineWithDavi
My wife and I stumbled upon this five star oasis in the middle of Adventureland While wandering around Disney adventure land we found this impressive restaurant. We didn’t have reservations so my wife and I went to the front where they referred us to the inside counter and Ashley said she could squeeze us in if we were patient. Shortly after she had a table ready for us upstairs. Luke took us to our table. He was very friendly and informative gave us a brief history about the restaurant. Then we had a wonderful server in Eileen we both had martinis white Seabass wine we had amazing desserts one of each. And we were actually sad to go back out into the park as we were in this five-star restaurant oasis
We were spending 2 days in Disneyland and 1 day in California adventure and wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner in the park. We splurged and went to Carthay which is near the front of the park. It is true fine dining but they don't make you dress up. We were in normal park wear, shorts and t-shirts and were fine. We were escorted upstairs and seated in a luxurious booth. It's fine dining with an extensive wine list. The restaurant is old school decor with hidden snow white theme. It's a small menu so take a look before you go if you have picky eaters. The server recommended 3 dishes which we went with. Potato crocette, pork chop, and lemon grass chicken. All were amazing and devoured. They also had a kids menu which went over well for our 6 year old. It is fine dining. You need to expect to pay for it as it is also park rates. The food is delicious but it is fine dining portions as well. Good for couples, families it's good too but adds up quick so may not be worth it if they don't appreciate the cost and fine experience. $$$$
Rudy, our server, was great! We were there for drinks, but as soon as I smelled garlic, I had to have whatever it was. Pasta with Mariana (which I normally don't care for, but it smelled so good), extra garlic on mine, basil and a dash of love. It was amazing! So glad I got it. It's lovely inside, and a perfect place to literally chill out. It was blazing hot outside, I came in a sweaty Betty, and was quickly greeted with a cold glass of water and the cool embrace of the amazing A/C. My only complaint, they don't have virgin drinks.
Wow, wow, wow. Call me biased, but this is the best restaurant in Disney. It was pricy but trust me, it was worth every penny. Such an ideal place for a cute date. The Manhattan I got was fabulous. The rib-eye was great. Saw people complaining about the portion, but it was way more than what I was expecting. Last but not the least, the dessert, you have to try the molten chocolate caramel cake. One of the best ones I’ve ever had. Great service, and wonderful environment. There were also balcony seatings available, but you might want to reserve ahead. 5 stars well deserved.
Carthay Circle is one of the best restaurants in Disneyland. If you are going to be in Disney California Adventure you should definitely try to get a reservation or on the wait list to the alfresco dining or better yet for the upstairs dining. Both options will be a great experience, every time I've been here the staff was so friendly and helpful. I often go here alone to the alfresco dining and sit at the bar, you get to watch all the different drinks being made and if it's not too busy have some conversation with the bar tenders and other patrons at the bar. Sitting at a table downstairs is nice too and the interior is just amazing. The upstairs dining room is the best experience though and on the ceiling of the main dining room is a scene from snow white. The food is delicious, most everything I've tried I've loved. The only thing that wasnt to my liking I tried was the pork chop but that could just be me. They also change the menu seasonally or maybe just for winter and summer so there is an opportunity to try something new if you can make it during those times of year. It is a must try at least once but more than likely you'll want to go back.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in California adventure. Service is outstanding and the ambience is just so classic and calming. Their wine selection is lovely but also they got full cocktail menu as well. I tried their unique gin tonic and all were amazing. Potion of the food is fairly large even the filet mignon. There was definitely no room for dessert after appetizers and entrees. This is perfect spot for a date night for sure. Don’t forget to make reservations ahead.
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here, and the food was outstanding. I ordered the swordfish while my wife enjoyed the pork chops, both of which were excellent. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional service from Holly. She was knowledgeable about the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and brought a genuine warmth and enthusiasm that made the evening feel special. We deeply appreciate the care she put into our experience and will certainly be returning soon.
Most of the Reviews are not for Carthay Circle Restaurant, but for the Al Fresco Dining Area. Carthay is no restaurant for tired, cranky children that want Chickenfingers and a bed, please keep this in mind when you reserve a table. This is an upscale dining experience, for people with appreaciation for Chef's Art, the prices reflects southern California and its fine dining Etablissements. Including the prices. Our Waiter MiMi was fantastic, she was kind and caring and always had a smile on her face. The table was a little tight for 4 people and should only be given to groups of 3 max. We were 4 smaller people and fit, but it was not comfortable du to the shape of the table. Especially with left and right handed beside each other a little challenging. The Chefs accommodate allergy restrictions very carefully, this was definitely a huge plus. The food was fantastic. I had the Ravioli, flavor was fantastic. I loved the sweetness of the squash compared with the tangy flavor of the greens. The Lamb was a little gamey but generally super tender and very well cooked. One Ravioli more would have been a huge plus, the portion was on the smaller side and might not fill everyone. Other portions were more reasonable. The Porkchop was prepared very well, a little dryer but I know Americans love their pork different than we Germans so it is not a negative mention. It was seared well. The Crouquettes were very delicious and paired well with the Porkchop. Same with the Brussel Sprouts. (They were a tiny bit bitter, I guess they haven't gotten any frost before harvest to break the bitterness.) I will come back to try some of the other Dishes.
Seriously one of the most amazing dinner experiences. Michael was phenomenal; his service, attention and enthusiasm was second to none. He made my birthday dinner and drinks wonderful. Highly recommend the Carthay Manhattan and Scallops. Oh and the iceberg is wedge with whipped blue cheese, nothing like it …and I don’t like blue cheese but this…heaven
Phenomenal food, exquisite service, and a captivating atmosphere. Carthay Circle is well worth the extra expense if you're looking for an amazing dining experience at Disney California Adventure. We had early lunchtime reservations. (11:10 a.m.) The restaurant was not crowded at all, which was very refreshing on one of the busiest days of the year at the park. The lunch menu is prix-fixe at $59 a person and comes with two courses. Most cocktails are around $20-25. Expect to pay around $100 per person here. I had the Harvest Squash Bisque and the Tri Tip. Both were absolutely delicious. However, I did not love the Soba noodles that were served with the steak. Our server, named Mitch, was very knowledgeable of the menu, prompt, and had a good sense of humor. We usually don't spend this much on one meal at Disney, but I would gladly do it again. Highly recommended.
We had a great experience at Carthay Circle Restaurant. Our server (James Cameron I think was his name) was hilarious and did some great impressions. The food was wonderful. Got the pork, steak, and fish. Got the apricot cake for dessert. The bread service wasn't much so probably skip that. The berry non-alcoholic drink I got was very tasty. Very cool place to eat and has ties to Disney history and California history.
We have frequented this restaurant since they first opened. We love coming here. Tonight we started off with a bottle of Pinot Noir from Skywalker Ranch. We ordered their house bread. For our entrees I ordered the Signature Thick Cut Pork Chop and Jovita had Roasted Rocky’s Free Range Chicken. Both were delicious and well prepared. For dessert, I had the Strawberry Sorbet and Jovita had the Hazelnut Crunch Mickey Pop. We always leave happy and full.
My husband and were delighted to dine at Carthay Circle restaurant and believe me it did not disappoint. We had dinner reservations and were seated fairly promptly in the main dining area. All around this dining area are private dining rooms with various Hollywood names to them. In the center is a circular dome showing Snow White's enchanted forest. Dress is casual here. Carthay Circle is modeled after the original theater that housed the premiere of Snow White and the seven dwarfs. Scattered about are various pictures of Walt Disney at the premiere of the movie and with various celebrities such as Shirley Temple where he received that special Oscar that had 7 little Oscars attached to it. Take a moment to browse. it is truly fascinating. We had a very attentive and informative waitress. Knowing pretty much everything was ala carte we ordered warm cheddar bread Parker house rolls with Chili Pine Romesco butter. These alone were worth ordering. They were delicious and filling. No need to buy dessert after this one! I had the beef of NY schnitzel-never thought of doing a schnitzel with beef but it was so different. It was prepared schnitzel style and the beef was very tender. It came with warm potato salad. Almost like an early Oktoberfest. My husband had the rigatoni pasta with Italian lamb sausage. It came with flava bean and sungold tomotoes. He told me he enjoyed it very much. Meal preparation was a bit slower but good things come to those who wait. Carthay Circle also offers Al Fresco dining and reservations are hard to come by for this place. Nevertheless I was glad we were able to secure one and have a delightful dinner in CA Adventure. Located at the roundabout by Hollywood land an Buena Vista St you can see it from the park entrance.
This is a great experience. The staff are phenomenal, the food amazing, the drink pours fantastic. We went for my birthday and they do a free dessert. We ordered a bottle of wine that they paired perfectly with mine and my wife's dinner. We sat and enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant and it was a nice quiet escape from the park. It is definitely not cheap. Dinner for two, an appetizer, a bottle and one extra glass of wine was over $200, but worth doing at least once. Make reservations months before your trip!
I’ve been there twice recently, and the service was phenomenal. The hostess took time to give some details around the restaurant, which is beautiful, and the server assistant was very attentive. The service both times was prompt and personable, and I felt that they really cared about the customer. The food was amazing, I had a tuna dish that was huge, and a fish of the day another time that was a seafood cioppino that was fantastic. I love getting the bread as well, and my daughter devoured all her food. The pear martini which I got both times was phenomenal. I will always make time to go back there no matter how busy the park is.
Fantastic high scale food option within California adventures. One of my favorite food options within the park. The service and food were phenomenal but definitely an expensive dining venue. Would highly suggest a reservation as it doesn't seem highly probably that you would get a walk up table. Overall, a great experience for those looking for an upscale dining option within the parks.
I loved the old timey Hollywood feel of this restaurant. It is on the higher end in terms of dinning experience, and the kid options are limited. Nevertheless, the food was outstanding. You will not regret getting an old fashioned soda like a Roy Rodgers or a Shirley Temple. The pork chop is huge and exquisitely cooked. I will always have a special place in my heart for this must try gastronomy experience in California Adventure.
Best restaurant in all of the park for a higher-class dining experience. Reservations are regularly required to be able to be seated and eat here. The service was amazing!! There was a waiter that came back to our table probably every 5-7 minutes. I recommend this place if you are looking to have dinner of celebration or for a date night away from the park's chaos. I ordered a "Twin Bill" as a drink which was practically an Arnold palmer(lemonade and ice tea), warm cheddar Parker House Rolls which were delicious and buttery even with the additional butter it is served with, Spanish Yukon Potato Croquettes that were really unique but delicious, and Grilled Beef Filet Mignon for a main course. The Filet Mignon is a must try, it was presented on top of very mild green chiles, yellow cherry tomatoes, chimichurri sauce and with black berries giving it a savory sweet flavor.
Easily my favorite restaurant compared to all the other ones in the two parks. Seating is nice and the food is solid! Every dish was delicious and I would recommend trying whatever you want as you cannot go wrong. The house rolls was delicious with a kick of spicy aioli on the warm bread with some cheese. Pork chop is solid and in the menu year round but I went for the peas raviolis, and it was delicious! I never had it before with pea filling, and I was pleasantly surprise. Appetizers were also all solid! If you can get reservations, I recommend trying :) nice to sit down after walking so much at the park. To top off the review, we booked for 6 people but ended up with 8 due to last minute additions and they were able to accommodate when we stopped by to ask when we arrived at the park. Amazing service and accommodations!
We will never forget the hospitality of the staff at Carthay Circle. I showed up an hour before our reservations and explained I was really tired and requested a place to sit quietly and wait for the rest of our party. First they sat me in a quiet alcove by a Christmas tree in a comfy chair. 15 minutes later I was taken to a table in the lounge where I ordered a glass of wine. My waiter was attentive and kind. Wish I could remember his name when my party arrived we were taken to our table upstairs in a beautiful dining room. The food was top of the line! The service was exceptional! I felt refreshed and ready to see a few more experiences. Thank you does not seem like enough. But thank you all so very much
Great dinner at Carthay Circle. Very nostalgic experience. Loved the Zorro display! We sat in the upstairs overflow section by the balcony (a little disappointed that we couldn’t sit in the main dining room as it is beautiful). Our table started with the Blue Lump Crab & Marscapone Stuffed Squash Blossom, and the Spanish Yukon Potato Croquettes. The main entrée we decided to try the limited time Beef of new york schnitzel, Kids Filet, and Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes for the table. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. We ended our dinner with some desserts. The limited time mango cheesecake and Mickey hazelnut crunch ice cream pop for the kids. We were all very happy with our experience.
Wow, what an unforgettable dining experience at Carthay Circle Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the exceptional service and warm ambiance set the tone for a magical evening. Our meal was a culinary journey, with each dish expertly crafted and presented. The Peruvian Sashimi and Squash Blossom Filled With Braised Short Rib starters were bursting with flavor and freshness. The sashimi was incredibly tender, and the short rib filling was rich and indulgent. For our main courses, the Pan Roasted U-8 Scallops were cooked to perfection, with a delightful crispy exterior and tender interior. The Grilled Certified Angus Rib Eye was cooked to our liking, with a beautiful char and served with a rich demiglace. But the pièce de résistance was the Valrhona Chocolate S’mores Bar - a decadent and creative twist on a classic dessert. The combination of textures and flavors was pure heaven! What truly made our evening stand out, however, was the impressively attentive customer service. Our servers Juli and Julio were knowledgeable, friendly, and anticipatory, making sure every need was met with a smile. Carthay Circle Restaurant has earned its reputation as a Disney California Adventure Park gem. If you're looking for a special night out or a romantic evening, look no further. Book your table and get ready for a truly exceptional dining experience!
We were visiting from Singapore and made this reservation 60 days in advance. We were looking forward to this as this place did come with lots of hype. And certainly the food didn’t disappoint, in particularly the pork chop. I often feel that it’s not difficult to execute a nice steak but to get a pork chop right, it takes skill and experience. This pork chop was so lovely that it made my night (think accompanying kids to Disney for 2 days and so I needed a good dinner to pat myself on the back 😊).
Had lunch here for the first time and I was not disappointed! The restaurant was beautiful and I really liked the table/chair set up. Felt more like a lounge. Our server was very nice and attentive. Food and drinks were fantastic! Had the scallop appetizer, which I definitely recommend! I picked the salmon for my dinner which was delicious!
Enjoyed this restaurant with my family. We can do DL for Halloween and decided to try some new places we hadn't tried for food. This place has fancier, more upscaled food. Unfortunately the menu changed from when we were planning to when we went, but out table was still able to find things and we were also able to order off the kids menu in adult size portions. The servers were awesome and so friendly.
What a great place! Delicious and interesting food, tons of drinks to choose from, and a world class ambiance. The interior is like time travel- back to the 1920s. Definitely a bit pricier, but hey, you’re in a Disney park, celebrate! I strongly recommend the spring rolls, the Brussels sprouts, and the pork belly bao. All the drinks are gourmet, delicious, and strong!
Glad I finally had a chance to come here. A friend got the reservation for us in the Disneyland app about a month ago. As expected, the food was great. We enjoyed the lamb kabobs and asparagus salad to start. I had the duck. For dessert we had the Japanese Cheesecake which was okay, not great. I would probably skip dessert here next time and get something out in the park instead where there are a lot more options. Our server Dominic was fantastic!
I believe this is the most expensive restaurants in Disneyland or California adventure, but it is still a wonderful experience. The theater is a replica to the original movie theater that played Walt Disney’s first film Snow White and the seven dwarves on opening night. The service was excellent, the restaurant was immaculately cleaned, and even using the restroom was a fun part of the experience. The kids were happy with their menu choices, the cocktails were delicious and our meals were cooked to perfection. The only criticism I would leave about this restaurant dining experience is that the portion sizes of our menu choices were a bit small. The gentleman next to us having the pork chop however look like he did not have a problem with his portion size. Probably a good idea to ask the server to help you with the size you prefer.
Such a solid dinner spot inside Disneyland if you want something elevated without feeling stuffy. The ambiance is classic, warm, and very “old Hollywood,” which makes it feel like a true sit-down escape from the park chaos. I had the Tequila Daisy and it was perfect 🍸 light, delicate, not overly sweet, and super refreshing! One of those cocktails you finish way too fast because it’s well balanced. Huge appreciation for how thoughtful they are with food intolerances. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, and made the whole process seamless without making it feel complicated. I felt genuinely taken care of ◡̈ Food-wise, everything hit: - Roasted winter mushroom & gnocchi. It was cozy, flavorful, and comforting without being heavy - Roasted Brussels sprouts - crispy, well seasoned, and addictive (I could have eaten 10 plates of this) - Sustainable fish cioppino - fresh, rich, and deeply satisfying! My partner and I loved the dish more than we even thought we would! Honestly loved everything we ordered. The food felt refined, intentional, and actually worth sitting down for which isn’t always the case inside a theme park. If you’re looking for a dinner that feels special while still being inside Disneyland, Carthay Circle is absolutely the move. Highly recommend booking ahead and taking your time here.
They sat us outside. Little slow service, we have just couple drinks & an appetizer to share (the beef skewers). Was good, The upstairs looks great.
Cheese bread - 3/5 (should've been warm, not cold) Pork chop - 3/5 (overcooked) Chicken - 4/5 Paella - 4/5 Steak - 3/5 (underwhelming) One of the more upskilled restaurants in Disney if you're looking to enjoy a nice meal. Dishes are hit or miss, but I liked it overall. The main dining room is beautiful, and the service was good.
I have been to this restaurant twice this year. I am giving a four-star rating because they decided to charge $10.00 for a serving of bread, which was complimentary back when I went early this year. Bread does not cost that much; therefore, I am not sure why the management now decided to charge for it. I find this petty. Other than that, the food was excellent. They changed the menu, and one of the dishes this time was out of this world. The red snapper was a fantastic dish and a recipe that I have not encountered in other restaurants that I have visited. Everything was delicious, the service was good, and the place was beautiful. There are options for vegans and those with health-related dietary restrictions. I highly recommend this place. I hope the restaurant considers providing complimentary bread as it won't break the bank for them. Otherwise, I can say that it is probably the number one restaurant in Disneyland.
This is really five stars for the decor, vintage feel, the excellent kind service but prob a 3 star or less for the food and prob a 2 star for value. Food is very very average at best, some of the food like the duck wings were horrible. And the prices are really steep. It’s Disneyland I get it and you have to get charged a lot for the fine dining. But it was not very fine and not cheap either. I have to call out the service, these guys are the real deal. Quick, efficient service and super thoughtful. I hope Disney is paying these servers well.
$74/ person for a 3-course dinner. The food is okay, I like their soup and salad. Wish the portion could be bigger. There are not many of dessert choices and they also running out of the popsicle so we choose the chocolate mousse instead. Kinda sweet to me. The perk of dining here is you get the reserved ticket for the World of Color show at Pixar Pier @ 10 PM. That’s the best part!
Beautiful Hollywood lounge like ambience and a fine dining at the helm of a church like spire in Disney California Adventure park. Service as you would expect for this pricey restaurant. Was able to accommodate almost every dietary restriction. Limited menu at dinner time too with just a few entrées to choose from. Hard to get reservation and very pricey.
( All my reviews are overall) Starting in the lounge our reservation was at 1740, we tried to check in at 1723 to which the hostess said she only checks people in 10-15 min before. 2 min difference kind of irritated us. But we stood there for the 2 min and then checked in. We waited till 1750 to be seated. Even with the reservation, still had to wait. The system to find people to be seated is complicated for them as they need to search the lounge for the party. Which makes the process slow. The atmosphere is loud but nice seating. Going up to the restaurant, our waiters were absolutely amazing. Great hospitality, helpful and courteous. The atmosphere is much quieter (if kids are not around) and almost romantic. I don't know the exact name but from the current summer menu, I had the duck pasta while my company had the strawberry chicken. My pasta was absolutely incredible. A little spice to it but gave it that nice kick. Filling and cooked to perfection. My companies chicken was very well cooked but he complained it was a little under seasoned. At 185lbs he said he was still hungry at the end. Personally I was stuffed and happy. Restrooms were very clean, well maintained and had personal stalls for extra comfortability. If seated outside you will get a very nice view of downtown Disney and if staying late enough, a great view of the parade. All around very good.
Probably the nicest restaurant here in Disneyland. Was told to wait up to 45mins but I got my table like in 10? I don't remember there is a lot of variety of food to choose from. But we had a decent meal there. Portion (or the plating to create a visual). can be more generous. Despite so, the taste was excellent! Remember to get a virtue queue before heading to the restaurant.
Make sure to make a reservation to avoid long wait. This is a beautiful sit-down place, and it's very helpful after a long day of walking. The food is good, a little bland but a great experience. We sat at the Buena Vista room. It's like a VIP section. it's a very nice and quiet and amazing service. I would come here again.
(December 2025) My wife and I canceled a reservation here back in the summer of 2023 for there wasn’t anything on the menu that was appetizing. So now on this trip, we had to make it in. Dora was our server and she took good care of us. She gave us a brief history of the original Carthay Theatre and suggested we look at the photos on the walls. For dinner, I ordered the turkey and she got the braised beef ravioli. Dinner was good but the serving sizes were small. We may be back on a subsequent trip, and we hope to try the Carthay Circle Lounge.
My wife and I used to regard this as the best restaurant in either park, but last time we were here we were a tad underwhelmed. The new bread doesn't hold a candle to the old biscuits they used to have (Disney, BRING THEM BACK), and while most of the food we ordered was certainly good, nothing exactly wow-ed us like on previous trips, and some items (like the brussels sprouts) were just downright kinda bad, with an overpowering taste of burnt sesame oil and a less-than-stellar texture. Still the best place in Disneyland to get a cocktail, though. We may just limit our future trips to only the lounge until we find that the food's improved.
I was excited when we were able to get a table despite not having a reservation, but I was a bit disappointed with my overall experience, especially given the cost of dining here. My husband and I were seated at a table close to the wall, which is understandable given the fact that we didn’t have a reservation. A party with a crying baby was seated next to us, which is not entirely their fault but still takes away from the experience. But again, the table we were seated at may have to do with the fact that we didn’t have reservations. They don’t have any vegan options listed on their menu, but I read in the reviews that they had off-the-menu vegan dishes and decided to give it a try. The two vegan options they gave me were pasta or gnocchi with veggies. I ordered the pasta, but ended up being served gnocchi, which I wasn’t too mad about as the gnocchi was delicious! Everything about this dish was perfect. I saw some reviews complaining about the serving sizes, but they may have changed that as I was served a big portion as you can see in the photo. Our food took a bit long to arrive, but the staff was very attentive and nice. I wasn’t very impressed with the place itself, but that may have to do with the table we were seated at. Overall, the food was great, but I don’t think I’d come back given the limited vegan options and my overall experience.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, great Walt Disney ambiance! Our server was superb! We ordered $500 of food, ordering a wide variety of entrees from the menu: appetizers- rolls, Brussel sprouts, artichoke hearts. Main dish: prime rib, pork chop, ravioli, turkey dishes. Everyone in our party agreed—the menu was over priced, and the food was mediocre. Nothing was a wow for anyone. And we so wanted it to be! It was our Christmas celebration dinner! The food taste really was such a disappointment for our family. We would not recommend Carthay Circle to friends for the price.
Having an ever changing menu is amazing and I love the unique ideas that go into each dish, but that doesn’t mean every dish will be a hit. Pork was best of the dishes along with the dessert. Our server either James/Jason (don’t remember) was incredible through out the whole night. And other servers kept the magic of Disney alive by never allowing my water cup to be empty. Priced exactly how would expect of a restaurant located in the heart of California Adventure. I do prefer the view of Lamplight over Carthay’s beautiful historical decor.
I hate to leave a less than great review for this place but to be honest me and my bf were both a little underwhelmed. For the prices we paid, the steak and pork chop were not incredible. The rolls were the most disappointing. While both the meats were still "pretty good", (like a 7.5/10) they weren't worth the $70 and $55. I am glad I came for the experience, but I don't think I would pay to come back. When we go out for a nice date night at home, our favorite steakhouse has unlimited steaks for the same price, and is way better. The waitress was very nice and the drinks were strong though!
We were excited to try out this place as it was our first time. Made reservations for 3 instead of for 2 because they can sit for fewer people, they can't sit for more people. Somehow the app didn't have any availability for 2, but there is for 3 so that's a little trick we learn. We also insisted on wanting to sit outside as we felt it was too dark inside and it's more appropriate for cocktail/alcohol drinking than eating. We came to eat. For appetizers we had moroccan roasted chicken meatballs and the spring roll with the spicy crab. Definitely thumbs up for the meatballs and thumbs down for the spring roll. The spring roll wasn't bad but nothing out of the ordinary to me. It tasted like something I can grab from grocery store. The entrees we went for the north african roasted organic chicken breast and sea bass with soba and kombu broth. We appreciated the fact that the chicken breast was still moist, not dried out at all. But for the price that we got charged, we expected more taste wise. Maybe this place is fitting for those looking to relax and drink some alcohol after bright sunny day in the park, but it is not to feed you full. It has upscale look and price, but if you're looking to get fed then maybe go elsewhere. My Chef Remy could cook better :) Service was great! We asked to be seated outside and at first we were seated inside. Felt way too dark and uncomfortable if we stayed (had to bent down to eat because the table is coffee table height.) So then we were asked to move back to the lounge area before they can find us a table outside. Once they did, it was high chair. Again, felt uncomfortable so we asked if we could sit at the regular chair as we saw there were 2 tables available. They were able to do so and have us moved. So for their service, 10/10! For the atmosphere, the inside is not my cup of tea. The outside is much better as we get to do people watching, that feeling that you're still in the park, got to see characters walking around. It was much more exciting to us sitting outside. All in all, it was an ok experience. We will not go back though. Only recommending this if you're looking for a place to drink and sit inside with a lot less kids crying/screaming noise level and if you want to do some people/characters watching when sitting outside.
This used to be my favorite place in the park, but my last visit for my birthday was less than stellar. We attempted to check in early, and were told no. Ok no big deal. Asked host if we could get a drink in the bar, and we’re told we should come back or wait outside. Ummm ok? There were like 4 people in there and lots of empty tables seats. And lobby seats were empty as well. All of my other visits we were encouraged to have a seat in the lobby or grab a drink while we waited. Blame it on the panini? We asked a bar staff member if we could grab a drink and they said sure no problem are you dining upstairs? Yes. Ok great you’ll just need to close out before you head up. Ok no problem. Ordered drinks. Closed our tab immediately Nearly finished them. Table was ready. Finished drink & checked in Taken upstairs, host was nice, took us to our table near the patio but inside near a very large (and loud) party. Service was fine, not exceptional but fine. Food was mediocre. My pasta was both over and under cooked and underwhelming flavor wise. Definitely not what I’ve experienced before. Husbands dish was fine. Check was brought without asking if we wanted more drinks, coffee or dessert, weird. (2 drink limit here unless you get a bottle of wine? And then who knows we didn’t get one). I asked about dessert (because it was my birthday 🎉) and we ordered dessert. In the past it’s come out with a candle and /or a happy birthday written in caramel or chocolate or whatever. I didn’t expect anything but it’s happened on several occasions while celebrating either mine or friends/family members birthdays. Dropped the dessert without saying anything and the check. We paid and never saw him again 🤷🏻♀️ Used to have a higher level of service, better quality of food and just felt like a nice little luxurious break from the madness. This just felt assembly line like and not special at all. I don’t know if we will be back.
The food was delicious, no complaints there. Our server was nice, very friendly. But… she brought us bread and we didn’t ask for it and we ended up having to pay for it. We thought it came with the meal or she was just being really nice. She also poured us extra glasses of wine and charged us for those even though we had said no more wine. The bill was ridiculous because of these extra charges. Kinda killed the buzz. The place was beautiful so I’m sad that it was ruined by the huge bill.
My Server Tricia was AMAZING! She was understanding with our little ones and showed courtesy. I thank her for that. It made the dining experience that much better. However the host Meg and others I didn’t happen to get their names are the total opposite! If I didn’t set a reservation I wouldn’t have ate here because they were rude. I checked in 3 times and not one person told me to check in again inside the location to be seated. I thought it was inconsiderate and they were rude about it knowing I was sitting there for over 30 minutes with my kids! They talked about you right in front of your face and stare while they do it. Jaime was not talkative when thanked. The food was good the bread was super soft the meat for the roast beef was cooked so well it just fell apart when I got a fork through it, the kids meal chicken was delicious without the sauce. Again my server was amazing but everyone else was unprofessional and unwelcoming!
Service is great, I really appreciate my server James for the experience and top tier service. However; the portion size for the cioppino was insulting to say the least. My gf says I should have taken a picture and she is correct, but for $60+ dollars you would have expected more than 2 shrimps, 1 mussel, defrosted mini scallops, and the smallest portion of fish and crab imaginable. The duck confit quesadilla was also insultingly a small portion; with 3 micro quesadilla portions. If you have a magic key, go to the magic key terrace for food worth the money. I feel like the google reviews have got it flipped.
Finally got a reservation here because it was so hyped as one of the best places to eat. I recommend just using Mouse Alerts to get dining updates for any cancellations. Initial impressions: The atmosphere and ambiance were spectacular and it felt so exclusive and fancy to dine here--even though it wasn't. Service was also top notch being equally attentive and friendly. Pork chop (skip this): Only ordered because the server recommended this classic menu item. It was very flavorful and tasty, especially with the sauce and some of the fattier pieces. However, a lot of other bites were quite dry and chalky. I would not order this again. Croquettes (definitely get): These were amazing fluffy and gooey balls that were complimented with fun bright notes as well. Really really enjoyed this and was the only dish that saved this meal for me. House rolls (skip this as well): Bread was wonderful fluffy, soft, and buttery. The chili butter that comes with it is utterly disappointing and I really should have just asked for regular butter. Old fashioned (skip): It was generally a balanced old fashioned and I enjoyed it. However, for $20 dollars it's completely unremarkable and I could make this at home. Overall, I left thoroughly disappointed and my expectations were not even close to being met. I wouldn't really recommend coming here unless you want the experience. Food: 5/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 8/10 Value: 2/10
Beautiful venue, okay food. While the atmosphere and history inside are great, the actual dining experience was overrated and underwhelming. The food simply doesn't justify the cost. It seems like Carthay Circle gets a pass just because the other food options in the park can be so subpar. You are paying for the location, not the culinary excellence. It’s "good for theme park food," but that’s where the praise ends.
A disappointment. Was lucky to get a reservation here on Thanksgiving weeks in advance. My family and I wanted a different Disney dining experience on the holiday rather than cafeteria style turkey dinner or other grab and go options. The ambiance at Carthay is lovely and nostalgic. Ordered the glazed turkey breast and bread pudding - I think this was supposed to be their version of stuffing. The turkey breast was moist, that was great, but my entire meal arrived cold. The food wasn't hot, not even warm. The dish was accompanied by bread pudding - their version of stuffing. Maybe because it was described as bread pudding it was supposed to be cold? The next time I'm in the parks over a holiday, I'll go with the flow of a completely casual dining experience. At $50+ per person and all the hype this place gets in blogs and other online reviews, I expected much more.
The server, Scott, was great and attentive. My drink was really tasty but the gochujang au jus on the prime rib completely overwhelmed any other flavor such that I wound up scraping most of it off and it still was too much. My husband's short rib ravioli was a better composed dish.
Food: 3 star Server: 5 star Hospitality: 1 star Dined at the Carthay Circle Restaurant Lounge. Food was good but nothing special. Small, appetizer like, portions. Front of the house and managers were not too friendly but what saved the experience was our server Mimi who was terrific. Hustling and polite. Food came out timely and was warm (not hot) and fresh. Arrived at 6:15 for a 6:40 reservation and hat to wait until 650 to be seated - and there was no line and the restaurant seemed to not be too busy. We were greeted by a less than friendly check in and were later accosted by a manager at 1901 lounge next door for waiting in the wrong area. Additionally for what you get this place is kind of pricey and is really not meant for kids. I don’t recommend and will not be returning. Food: 3 star Server: 5 star (Mimi) Hospitality: 1 star
I really wanted to love this restaurant and I was so excited to treat my family to a new Disney dining experience, but it ended up falling short in some ways. I will say that it is a beautiful restaurant. I love the Disney history they honor and it really has a great atmosphere. Although I felt our waitress was nice, her trips to the table were few and far between. It seemed busy that night so that could have been part of it. I don’t need a waiter or waitress waiting on us constantly, but the waitstaff completely abandoned us for a long while to where I was sitting with my card in my hand to just give when they eventually came around. Again, everyone was kind, however we had amazing service this entire trip, but our trip to this restaurant was a low for the entire trip. I also didn’t like where we were seated. Although we were located more in the center of the room, my chair was awkwardly placed where servers are zipping by and I felt like I was in their way. I never have a problem paying more for excellent food but the quality and portions did not match the pricing. I’m even okay with smaller portions, but for that amount of money, those portions need to hit it out of the park and we just didn’t get that. It’s not bad food, but you walk away feeling as though it’s not very memorable. What is memorable is the pricing. It’s so incredibly expensive for what you get. I knew it would be a pricey meal, but it didn’t feel good spending that kind of money for the experience and food we received. Overall it felt like a restaurant trying to pretend to be a fine dining experience when it just fell short.
Wow, this place has gone downhill substantially. We’ve been coming for 13 years since our first time on our honeymoon. The server was nice but it took 20 minutes for drinks on a not busy day. My husband’s drink wasn’t even correct. Unfortunately, this was our last traditional visit.
We unfortunately were very disappointed with our experience at Carthay Circle and won't be returning. We've gone in the past and have always loved it, but the quality has just gone down significantly, with prices rising. The raviolis were only okay, and the cost was $10.50 a piece for each small ravioli! My meal which was actually an appetizer was half the price, and tasted much better. We were seated in a room off to the side of the main area so we did not even get enjoy the ambience of the restaurant. Definitely not worth the price you are paying to eat there. We have been very disappointed with just how much Disney is lowering the quality of everything.
Food quality did not match the flavors of the dishes. Quality of the protein was very poor. Although at Disney you would expect better quality for a farm to table restaurant. Server was irritated and seems like needed a vacation.
Very expensive for a tiny portion of chef boyardee type food. Sparkling water they charge $8 for is moldy tap water that comes out of a soda machine. Can't recommend.
Not kid friendly AT ALL. I’m ashamed of Disney for their new policy saying kids above the age of nine are FORBIDDEN from ordering from the kids menu. They are just money hungry and they force kids over nine years old to order from the adult menu, which has around four options. Not kid friendly, and I warn anyone with older kids or teens to avoid this restaurant at all costs. I’m honestly so disappointed.
Very very disappointed in the food portion. Beware!!! We both had the swordfish, which was $52/ea. Portion size was less than 3 oz. Tasted great but less than 3 oz. Just wrong anyway you put it. Ordered 2 appetizers that were wonderful. Would I ever go back? No. Do not order the fish!!! Wish I took a picture, you’d be shocked!!
Came for dinner with the family. First the side dish we didn’t order came out. Then we finally got the side dish we did want. Then my Korean bbq prime rib came out (server did not ask me how I wanted it cooked) and it was damn near frozen. Sent it back, came back just as cold. Didn’t eat. They took it off the check 1 but seriously disappointing. I can get a corn dog in the park hotter than the meal I was served.
We dined at Cathay Circle today (around 4 PM) and, unfortunately, left disappointed. Although we were seated on time and the staff were polite, the service felt lackluster and rushed. No one checked in on us after our food was served — no offers for drink or water refills, and very little attention paid to our table overall. What made it more frustrating was seeing nearby tables receive attentive, “white glove” service with frequent check-ins and refills, while we were largely overlooked. We’ve always considered Cathay Circle a favorite and were excited to return after several years. In fact, this visit was part of deciding whether to purchase an annual pass (Magic Key) for dining experiences like this. Sadly, after this experience, we’re rethinking that decision.
Edgar the waiter truly made this a terrible experience. While we were checking in he was weird about my name (it's a very normal name so I don't get why). He brought us to our table then just left. We saw him a total of two times and he was rude or standoffish both times. All of our food came out before out drinks which was a little frustrating. Then I order the scallops for an entree instead and he fully rang everything in then came back after to say there was only a single scallop for $26. I said that's okay because at this point I ordered it already. Didn't see him once during dinner and after we were done and had sat 20 minutes with empty plates, he checked on ever table but us. Took us another five minutes to flag him down and get the check. Also if you are coming here to get a semi calm break from the park, don't. Lots of kids running around screaming and playing in the restaurant and on the elevator and stairs. I highly recommend the Cozy Cone food area instead. Amazing options at a great price!
Major problems and generally good food. First, no crayons for the kids. Every restaurant has this and Disney should make it magical, not ignore it. Then, $35 KIDS MEALS??? Two spoonfuls of tomato soup? 1/8 of a grilled cheese sandwich? Small portions taken to a new low. Then errors on the menu. “Mac and cheese” does NOT mean deep fried Mac and cheese balls. Carpaccio is NOT cooked. 7 people at a table for 6? Two people had to eat “on the cracks” between tables. Long time between courses, bread has cheese which made it a problem for one in our party. Very inflexible when they should be catering to individual guest needs and wants. Had to wait 10 minutes to be seated with nowhere to sit while waiting.
I made a dinner reservation for Carthay Circle Restaurant back in December for Feb 3rd which is my wife's birthday. Neither of us have dined there before so we thought we would go to the trouble of paying for DCA tickets just to have a special birthday dinner at Carthay. 2 hours before our reservation they called me to cancel our reservation saying the restaurant would not be able to open that evening. So we blew a few hundred dollars on DCA tickets, and a few more hundred on a hotel stay for absolutely nothing. Embarrassing levels of customer service.
No complaints with the service or atmosphere but the food is most definitely OVERPRICED. Definitely hit or miss with the menu items but would not recommend the Jamaican chicken curry with rice even to my worst enemy. The rice was well past overcooked it was basically mush. The curry itself was bland and lacked any resemblance of a Jamaican curry. I’ve had better airplane food than this. Only redeeming menu item was the Bao buns. Also overcooked pasta was just ridiculous… just get yourself a corn dog for these prices…
Extremely disappointed in the food. My last visit was some time ago and it was amazing this current visit was a huge disappointment. It was a birthday dinner and having to leave the park after dinner altogether to hunt down a cheese burger was not in the plan. The dish we both ordered had ingredients not listed on the menu and the dish itself was so incredibly sparse of any actual ingredients we were shocked especially after we were recommended it by the server. Service was great and very polite but when you’re paying Disney dining prices you expect something a tiny bit magical.
