Tip: Some reviewers have had negative experiences with the service and food quality, so consider this before visiting.
This place is sooo good. Been here quite a few times already and always find myself coming back. Food is delicious, service is great, and easy access and parking to the restaurant.
My experience has always being the best at el perihuete de paramount ived being craving empapelado and we were waiting for a few and I guess the owner notice it and he brought us a plate of botana on the house...a shout out to Paul the owner God bless you and your business...big shout out to Oscar his the best and his vibes are the best I known him for years and he always makes sure to give us the best service...love yaaa
Oh man hay Dios mio! Que rico la comida!! Mamasitas and mamasitos this place is recommended 👌 100000 percent omg I don't think I've ever tried fresh tuna like this this place is so delicious nice workers the owner has everything right here and the place is just beautiful I will be returning I love fresh raw seafood! Sushi amazing 👏 show your support ❤️ come here !!!
Delicious food! Usually busy and for good reason. The mariscos is really fresh and the service is excellent. The mixed ceviche plate with a side of agua chile hit the spot! Oh, and the micheladas we good as well. Mostly Jente there, so you know it's legit.
Enjoyed a really good grilled fish with shrimp on top, served with rice and beans and a small salad. Everything was so fresh and delicious, they serve you a complimentary cup of soup with a shrimp and it’s so good! Also a good ice cold beer. Whenever around stop on by!
El Perihuete is hands down one of my favorite masriscos places. We have been coming here for years and from the initial caldo de Cameron sampler cup they provide you with (one of my favorite parts) to the delicious micheladas and spicy but flavorful aguachile I could not recommend this place enough. Even if we have to fight traffic to get over here it’s well worth it. Parking can be a little tight but get there early and avoid the post church rush and you’ll be fine. Camarones al mojo de ajo also quite good.
Wow!!! I ordered the tacos gobernador and they're pretty good. The caldo de pascado y camaron is really really good. Michelada is good, could use a little more something.
Pescado Ceviche tray, pescado tacos and "fishcarrones" were all amazing! We went back a second time for more. Place your order on the phone to make it faster. Customer service on point! Overall 5 stars!
Great place to have some tasty seafood and adult beverages. The portions are big and the options are plenty. Be sure to ask for their sushi menu and try the "San Luis" if your looking for something new.
The food is great. However, they need to hire more waitresses. They take too long to check up on their customers. Restrooms are always fealty with no toilet paper, liner papers, hands tissue, or hand soap. The sitting areas are a bit too crowded.
Very nice restaurant, the food is delicious and they serve a lot of food.
This place is a very nice place to dine in. Lunch time is usually not bad to dine in since there's ample seating space. I like it because they don't have loud music blaring so you can actually have a conversation with whom ever you're dining with. Very friendly staff always. I Recommend it. Family oriented.
My favorite mariscos place!!!! Been coming to this restaurant for years, Paramount Lynwood & South Gate!!!
Love coming here, great sea food, from the empapelado to the cocktail, and sushi it's all good I highly recommend the place.....
This location is great. Went during the weekday (wednesday) and the people was great. I sat on the bar with my friends and the cook gave us a free taco to try and also a gift for being first timers. I would come back to this location. Thank you
I have been goingto this place for a long time and it is always great. The customer service is great. The atmosphere is good too and the food is delicious. I love coming here with my family.
Great service. I came here to eat with family since it is around the corner. I ordered some aguachiles here and they were very spicy, lots of lime, very delicious. 10/10. I have been here about 10 times. Always a good spot to go to on a Sunday.
Very delicious, fresh and authentic Mexican seafood! I’m Vietnamese and eat fresh seafood growing up so I can tell when dead food is fresh and done right. This place is a gem. Price and large portion are reasonable for a seafood place. Service is good. Vibe is a little loud but that’s the vibe right? I’ll always go here for fresh seafood from now on.
A bit loud for my 6 year old on an expected busy Sunday. However, food was delicious as always and the server did her best to accommodate my uncomfortably child and it helped tremendously. That server was intuitive and received an extra tip on top of the good food.
WOW! We have missed this restaurant for years, but not anymore. We will be back for more fresh fish dishes.
Many employees went out of their way to help me unlock my truck. This was a meet up point and i did not sit down to eat. I assume the food is good because the family I meet were going to sit down to eat. Many thanks to all that helped me. Gracias!!! I will come back to eat here.
This is one of my top 3 restaurants I love coming here, the food is amazing!! Definitely recommended 10/10
I have been coming here for years now, since 2005 and this is the only Marisco spot I eat at. SeaFood taste fresh every time. Oysters are delicious here. My fav plate is Filete a La Pioja 😍. Prices are great for what you get. Waitresses have always been friendly. I Don't think i could live without their Taliban ( that's the shrimp juice appetizer in the white cup) a lot Don't know this but you can buy it in bigger sizes 😉. You have to try their Micheladas...Victorias are the best. All I'm saying is, there's tons of seafood spots but nothing like Perihuets
Great food. Fast service. Been going to this restaurant for over 15 years.
Great little mariscos truck with huge portions and super fresh shrimp. The aguachile has just the right amount of heat and lime. Parking can be tough, but it’s worth the effort. The staff is friendly and even gave me extra tostadas. Don’t miss the micheladas if you’re staying to eat.
The food is ok, prices are a little high, but ok, music level it's ok to take your whole family. I will describe it as " a good mariscos (sea foid) family restaurant " One thing the pescado sarandeado taste is not that good, doesn't taste bad, but it doesn't have any flavor; Not recommend it.
Nos encantó la comida el ambiente el servicio y el cocinero que biene de bakersfield nosotros venimos desde haya solo a comer urge uno en bakersfield
Different style of making ceviche and shrimp cocktails. It was okay. Drinks delicious!
If you are looking for seafood (shrimp), I would 100% recommend. I had a filet of fish with shrimps plate and it came with beans, rice, and lettuce. They do start you with a small cup of shrimp soup, which can be spicy for some but delicious. I did have the horchata but, for me, it seemed watered downed. My cousin had a Michelada with a caguama (32 ounce beer).
The Food was great 👍 the service absolutely sucks! The music is extremely loud, you can't have a conversation without yelling. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because I absolutely love the Aguachile!!
My initial assessment was off by 100 miles. When I first walked in, I assumed it would be a dingy slow service place with mediocre service and food. I couldn’t be more wrong about that. The service was fast, the customer service was amazing - super friendly server, great quality food with tons of options. I started with a shrimp and octopus cocktail (two thumbs up) and then tried the Octopus Traviezo (so so). They have lots of sauce options on the table, so you can adjust the spice and seasoning level to your desired taste. Will definitely visit again, but I’ll stay away from the traviezo and emphasize more on the cocktails and ceviches.
The place is plenty of room and they have a patio.weekends is not easy find parking is the most busy days.most of the times I visit the place takes around 20to30 min the wait for a table.but weekdays i don't have to wait for a table, and many spots for park then car.
This restaurant is always packed, they greet you w a shrimp consume, tostadas n salsa we order a sea food tostada not that great but their empapelado & shrimp quesadilla were Delicious. Aguas frescas are good. They have tv's to see and music playing. Ladies bathroom was clean. Our server did not come to see if we needed anything, yes i left a tip
Food is great! All seafood taste fresh. Prices are affordable. The only downside about this place is that is that it's always super crowded which makes their servers overwhelmed. Overall I have no complaints in the food area.
Waitress wasn't attentive. Only brought food and drinks but never checked up on us. She would serve the table next to us and purposely turn her back to avoid us when it was so easy to ask if we needed anything else, this happened a few times. I had to wave her down for everything. Shrimp tacos and peach margarita was delicious as always!
So far, I never had a disappointing dish here. Good food and clean atmosphere. Waitress was good. Don't forget your complimentary taliban.
First time dining in, and let me say I give it thumbs up. 👍 Food was right on point tasty. We had the culichi shrimp plate w/rice and beans. The Chipotle shrimp plate, a campechana cocktail and a seafood tower, and lastly, a dozen half shell oysters. I will definitely be coming back even though it's an hour away from home it's worth the drive or when in the area.
The food is always AMAZING!!! I love coming here but the service Can use A LOT of work. It’s as if once you get your food you become forgotten. We had to be asking different servers for things we needed because our server was no where to be found and whenever we called her she would pretend she didn’t hear us. Wait time is usually not that bad.
They lack on service. Slow and inattentive Other than that food is good if you order sushi it will take a long time. Also the marisco here is not as great. Flavor could be better. Sushi and hot food plates are a good option. They also serve complimentary shrimp juice with one shrimp upon seating.
Sushi was super delicious! Tacos endiablados were good. Gobernador tacos were not that good. Torre was good. Breaded shrimp were okay. Pulpo was good. Has a sweet taste.
Hey guys Marvin here!! So here we have a staple of the Mexican Seafood Restaurant World "El Perihuete". Known for its "Empapelado" which is a shrimp n octopus mix steamed with butter it is served in aluminum foil so be ready! The secret sauce is great! The place is busy so be ready for a 20 minute wait. Theyve got good micheladas and seafood tacos with cheese on them. Looks like they just remodeled the place.
Love the food. Always fresh but the service is lacking to say the least. They had me waiting to be seated and when they finally put me through. The table hadn't even been cleaned. The last customer's dirty dishes were still on the table. When I asked the waiter to please clear the table he turned to me in disgust as if I was asking too much. Due to that experience I only take food to go. I've done so even before this pandemic.
The food was okay- mediocre. A bit over priced and overhyped. I have been to better places with lower prices. For a $9.99 dinner plate, I would expect at least the beans and rice to be done right. It has a bar atmosphere. It is not a family friendly location due to the loudness of the music and people yelling at each other because the music is so loud.
We found that the tables where not cleaned as we arrived. Took a few minutes for them to get the staff organized and have the tables cleaned for us to be seated. It was a very slow time of the day and it was not busy at all. They should have busboys available Once we order food our server was polite and fast but it was not clear what our plates would have for sides. It wasn't until our food arrived that we found out what we where having for sides. Food was average. Didn't disappoint but xiuod had been a bit better more flavorful
Food was good Service was not so great there probably because it was just me and my son. The waitress provided better serviced to the table across from me probably because it was full of men.
Great food! A little overpriced and if they are busy you will wait for at leadt an hour before your meal is ready. If you have the time and money, its a 4 star. If service improves, probably a 5star.
The food was great, But the waitress once we were seated, never came back to see if we needed something, I had to go and find her and asked to come back since we needed something else.. I'm not coming back..
My family and I were there for the first time, we went based on the reviews. Food was good. 40 minutes wait to get our food, I understand the wait because we came on a Sunday morning. But the Service was bad. Yolanda our server, not once did she come to us to see how we’re doing or do we need anything. So no tip for her .😊
Let’s begin with the atmosphere, it is family friendly, wheelchair accesible and clean. In my opinion the music is too loud and one can’t hear a conversation. I will blame the loud volume in my order being wrong, but later the waitress confessed she made the mistake and I paid the higher price. I brought it up yo the manager’s attention. I agreed on keeping the plate because I assumed it would go to waste and I hate to think that it went to waste, but she charged her error on my tab. The food came in episodes and it was a long wait. The tortillas came 5 minutes after the plate. My husband’s oysters looked strange, they looked to big for the shell and they were not attached to the shell. Soon after our dinner my husband began to feel sick. We shared the food, but I didn’t get sick. I ate from all that we ordered, except the oysters. He vomited more than 4 times, he had stomach cramps, diarrhea, high fever and chills. The next day he had, the same plus bloating. It has been 4 days and he still not feeling well. The prices are affordable, but I’m not sure if it’s worth going back.
Cocktail d camaron y pulpo had no taste. To many staff but had no personality not a welcome or a thank you. We seat at left entrance bar stoll and two of the cookers that were in front of us had no mask. They were literally just standing without doing anything just like the other stuff on their phones or having conversations between them. I 🤔 would had everyone doing a good deep cleaning to the restaurant that really needs it food quality 1 to 10 =4 Rest cleanness a 3 and staff service a 2.
Short wait to be seated. 30 mins to get a drink. 20 mins to get food. Was asked if everything was ok, once. Over all in our visit of 2 hrs there was little to no customer service. We got four different plates. Rating was good. Bland. Bland. Too spicy to have taste. Over all disappointed. There are lots of places I rather go. Specially with kids.
Wow. Got sat down and waited 20 mins for our order to be taken. Our drinks took 18 mins and half of them were wrong. Our food took 30 mins thank goodness it came out good. Won't be back here for along time.
Too noisy...waaaay too noisy. The service was mediocre at best. The 2 stars is because the food was ok. I wouldn't recommend it if you actually plan on having a conversation with someone while you eat. Maybe if you eat alone?...nah, or order to go.
The food at this place is just getting worse. The food is too bland. The service wasn't great at all. And their prices are getting higher and higher. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place anymore. It was good when they first opened this restaurant, but it's just average now.
I used to come here once a week, the food was great, the service was great, even know the music sucks (reggaeton on a Mexican restaurant?) now the food is just like the music, it sucks, the portion of the food decreased while the price for the food increased. They just raise the prices on everything, its just to ridiculous expensive. When the cost of the food goes up, so the quality, here, the cost of the food when up while the quality imploded. I won't be coming here anymore.
Let me tell you about my experience eating here@El Perihuete , we had a party of 5 people, we order different plates, The food was Cold out of flavor. I order the Costa Azul shrimp. My mother order a cocktail of shrimp and octopus, my nice tostada de jaiba , the food was Cold. When we left the place we all had diarrhea cause by the cup of juice with shrimp that the give you when you get there, Don't eat that your going to get sick with that cup of shrimp. I'm been honest. If you want to get sick try it your self. I give * one start. What a waist of money.
I try my very hard not to give a negative review on something, unless I’ve already visited the place more than once; and perhaps by doing that I’ve give a couple more shots before I voice my honest opinion. Other than the presentation of the food, I honestly couldn’t find anything good about this restaurant. Parking is very limited. Their customer service is not the best, they’re just doing a mediocre job, without going the extra mile. The food is bland. And I mean seriously bland. And what can I say about their drinks, they should put a disclaimer or something, I tried a different margarita this time thinking it was going to be better, than the last time I was here. And came to find out that they don’t even use real tequila, but only flavoring. This was my third time here, and just like before, I’ve ordered a botana as an appetizer; I’ve told the waitress that I wanted the appetizer to arrive before the main dishes. And they all say “yes” when I asked if that’s possible. Still, the main dishes arrived, and the appetizer came right after! Why is it so hard for this restaurant to get it right?
Ordered over $100 in food. Ceviches we’re good. But the rest of the food was not worth the price! The Huevos Rancheros we’re poorly done! The block of cheese was hilarious! Didn’t eat it! Quality has gone down! Waitresses focus more on trying to look good then provide quality customer service. Overall it was a disappointing experience.
The personnel in the kitchen are rude, crude, disrespectful to women. The managers ignore this very important factor." IT'S CALLED SEXUAL HARRASMENT!"! This restaurant may serve great food but it's an "ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK", AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, " IT'S A GET OUT SITUATION"! I GIVE THEM 5 👎👎👎👎'S DOWN!
Aside that it always takes an hour to get your food that is not the reason I am writing this review. I ate there 2 days ago had a tostada and two tacos of shredded beef. Later that night my son and I stated feeling sick, we can't eat much feel like throwing up and have to go to the restroom constantly. I have been here several times this is the first time this has happened. Seems like either something was not cooked right or the people preparing the food didn't wash their hands.
Food was alright, service is horrible. They took over 30 minutes to bring us drinks, waitress and male cashier at the front desk not Polite at all. Would not recommend this place to someone from out of town (like us) to eat here.
The staff is not friendly. The music is always on blast even at 10am so it's not a place to have a conversation. They offer coffee vut only powder cream. It wasnt very clean for being ioen so early. And the food was disappointing. Id pass
The food was cold. I asked for 6 plates of sushi and got 3 plates in a big platter and the other 3 in another platter when I clearly did not ask for that. There was a mosquito in the shrimp cocktail and the waitress only came by twice during the 2 hours there
This place was decent a long time ago, but with the crazy price increases, it’s just not worth the lack of parking and the fact that they don’t clean their shrimp out. It’s gross to always find the vein floating in your ceviche! I’m so done coming here.
Called to place an order and was told it'd be ready in 20 minutes. Got here 30 minutes after I had called and still had to wait 30 extra minutes. They keep taking orders and don't know how to manage all this. Asked a worker what was going on with my order and said she'd go check and never came back.
Avoid getting any of their oysters at all costs. I received the worst food poisoning ever . Staff had a poor attitude and were extremely unprofessional, lack of attentiveness resulted in forgotten drinks and food items.
The food was very good everyone enjoyed the food, but if you can deal with being ignored and the waiters not asking if you need anything just telling you to push the "call button" if you need help and them ignoring the "call button" then this is your spot. We sat down at a clear view of the front desk where the "call button" notices them that you need help and when I looked over I just see 3 waitress talking and enjoying there conversation as they ignore the "call button" Don't get me wrong the food is great, but it just has horrible service took about 20 mins to take our order when about 30 to even get the check and that's after we stood up and just went to the front asking for it so we can leave.
The service has declined. And I know there is a Labor shortage but this place had no shortage of labor. It looked like they had an abundance more than they needed as if they're hoarding employees. Tperiod the quality of the food has went down drastically and the prices have went up. I'm not complaining about prices I will still pay for good quality food but I can't say
Came here to eat with my family I got one taco gobernado on the side because I loved it so much the first time around. When I receive my food I did not get what I want instead I got a tacos that seemed to be camarón molido and when I asked the waitress she gave me an attitude when I told her “are you sure this is the right one because I came here last time and the shrimps where whole” waitress “yes! Im sure, you can go ahead and as the cooks yourself” bad services will take my money elsewhere.
Completely disappointed, tasteless, no flavor whatsoever in 3 different things that we order, camarones a la diabla , octopus with "especial" sauce , more like teriyaki sauce. And the tostada mix , The only thing that had a good flavor it was the beer 🍺 .
For my first time I had the worst experience ever. Me and my hubby was up and down doing errands. Went here to get some food. They took for ever for a tostada. Others came in got their drinks and food mean while we are still waiting then they bring camarones cooked for my hubby, but my simple tostada came after his food and the drinks after we got the food and was almost done with the food. I’m sorry Im good about here, makes me never wanna go back. To say it was my first time going and to say they really let me down.
Poor customer service waited 1/2hr to get our drinks and mayo and 1hr to get our food and some of the plates never got to our table. Use to be a good place don't know what happened. The quality of the food isnt the same either. Now I remember why we stop going to this place.
Don't worry about the high prices now they want to give you less for what you pay the mariscoco use to be for $10.00 now is $17.00 and super small this is the only place I have seen the smallest coconut ever now when they use to give you a regular coconut. Ridiculous I know that the owner wants to be rich but no me ingues guey...no mames...
Waiting times are ridiculous and food is not even all that not worth the wait
The restaurant I do not recommend because the service from the leader they’re not that good they’re constantly fighting for the tables to see who gets the more tables for tips and they don’t come back towards you to see if you need something else and plus the food if you order sushi It’ll take for an hour and a half for you to get your food even though the restaurant it’s right there next to each other the waiter doesn’t even check up on you to see if you need something else or your food or anything and then the guy who is right there in charge of the place doesn’t really care about what’s going on Sometimes if you order any other food like hot food, you’ll get it first then and anybody else who order the sushi and you end up getting cold because the waiter takes a long time to give it to you do not recommend it
I came here Saturday day 2 days ago with my wife and was looking forward for some mariscos . I got a 7 mares with my wife and hate to say it but it was awful not good tasting at all . But to make things worse when I left I went to use the restroom and left my phone on the chair while my wife waited for me at the car . I come back to look for my phone since inforoI forgot it and asked at the host's front if a phone was turned in and told me no . I later tried to track it on my find device Google and shows here it was the last place it was and leads to presume it was stolen here. Disappointed of this restaurant.
His quality has wind down drastically. Prices have went up drastically. I understand that staff but this place had an abundance of staff so there was no shortage. The food made me a little sick once we ordered I tried a little bit of it straight to the bathroom and we had to just get it to go unfortunately this was one of our favorite restaurants to go to after church now we're gonna have to find somewhere else sorry for the review Box review but it's the truth
Took my mom and brothers here to celebrate my moms birthday. I was very disappointed with the service at this restaurant. The waitresses were never around when I needed more tostadas or a to go box. When we managed to catch someone’s attention, they never brought what we asked for. Yet we saw that another table was being attended to very nicely. I’m only giving this 2 stars because we actually did enjoy the food. But I think a restaurant’s service will make or break my experience. I do not intend on going back.
I went with my girlfriend for dinner, she always goes with her family. but i've never been there. So it was going to be special for us. but it was so bad, i order a quesadilla, the server said it has vegetables. but I can't eat spicy. so i tried but couldn't eat. I ask for another quesadilla without spiciness but she tells me that I have to pay for it. I have been working in restaurants for 15 years. And we never do that. and it has never happened to me as a customer. Honestly this is pathetic and I will never go back.
This place is not good, i ordered chilaquiles and they were good but the eggs looked weird and didn’t taste as good, and the chilaquiles were good at first but then it made my stomach hurt BAD. Then my daughter ordered chicken nuggets with mozzarella sticks and the mozzarella sticks tasted like pure oil, like it was NOT good, then my son ordered Dino nuggets with fries as well and there was a piece of steel scrubber, on top of the food it was about like an inch long , the only good thing was the service and the pineapple water i got and presentation. honestly i don’t think i would come again, mind you guys this was our first time coming..
