This cafe serves all kinds of pies, quiche, pizza pie banana cream pie, and Spinach hand pies. The array of coffees and teas is extensive. The vanilla latte complements the spinach hand pie. Yummy. The staff is quick with the king line today just before the busy 4th of July holiday. Great outdoor accessible seating in open air venue Van accessible free parking nearby
Venus Pie Trap in Aptos Beach is a charming spot known for its coffee, pies, and pizzas. We stopped by for a quick bite and were thoroughly impressed. The cappuccino was fantastic—rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. We also tried the quiche, which was soft, flavorful, and well-made. The cozy ambiance and quality offerings make this a great place to visit. We’d definitely come again!
Whenever I’m in Aptos, have to stop here grab a coffee and an amazing pastry. Coffee shop and locally made pastries by morning and take away pizza by day. I hear they get lines, but I have never encountered one in 20+ times I’ve been here. They currently have 11th hour coffee and pastries from Manresa bread
Had the pesto pizza with chilis, very good! I have had the coffee here before and it was good. Wanted something to eat so decided to get a pizza, exceeded expectations.
I got their pizza with mushrooms and I loved it. But I substituted for the red sauce. #Bombdotcom 😋 😋 🤤 🤤 And to go I got their Chorizo and potatoes empanada. It was really good but the price was too high for such a little pie
Great place by the beach for coffee and multiple types of pies. They had pizza pie, hand pies, and dessert pies. We stopped and had the earl grey pie which was a ear grey milk tea custard in a flaky pie crust. It was awesome though the bottom crust was a tad soggy. The coconut cream pie had a great coconut cream to whipped cream ratio and was a graham cracker crust. There were also flakes of coconut mixed into the cream. We’d come back for pie alone but looks like they also have a soft serve machine
Stopped in for a treat. Got a slice of the amazing Mexican Chocolate pie. So good we took a whole pie home with us. Nice little outdoor seating area
The Keylime pie is divine. Back today for sticky bun. Also delicious. The outdoor seating is nice view of the ocean. When you ask them to heat up a baked good, they don’t microwave it, they put it in the wood burning pizza oven.

Charming little coffee shop right on the beach. My breve latte was expertly made and delicious. I’m already looking forward to trying their locally made pie next time!
This place was in walking distance from vacation rental and when the coffee situation was lacking at the house, we were very pleased to find the Venus Pie Trap. We went here two mornings in row for mochas and food. The quiche was tasty and the chorizo hand pie was delicious!
Small cafe on the beach with some of the best pizza ever, who would have thought. love the pepperoni, especially the square pie (pan pizza so there’s yummy pan friedness along the edge), crust is amazing, tomato sauce is great, cesaer salad is simple but also pretty yummy. The dessert pies are also delish, especially the key lime. Eat here!
The staff was helpful. I bought a slice of pecan pie to take to my husband. I had a savory pie slice. We ate outside to see what was left of the cement boat. My friend had the Mexican Chocolate pie. The coffee was excellent too. All the customers talked with us as well like we were in a happy village or on Sesame Street. What an awesome atmosphere. We took artistic photos of the beautiful mural too. Part of a perfect, happy day.
My daughter brought me to this cute coffee shop. Had a cup of their brewed coffee and hand pie(Chorizo and potato). Tasty! Staff were friendly and service was good! Lotsa puppies which is a plus hahahah!
Should be 5 stars! Coffee is good, pizza was SURPRISINGLY good(impulse bought a slice because of the name) and now I’ve been craving it 🙃 The staff is young but cute and bright eyed and the location is unbeatable. Sat outside a few times on the patio and all the clientele seems like a community making friendly small chat to each other in a non annoying way. I have a friend that lives nearby and I look forward to coming in every time I’m in the area. Can’t wait to try one of those sweet pies for my next impulse buy!

Exceptional baked goods. Not a lot of seating but there's the beach a short walk away, and it's hard to complain about that!

This is a small place right across the parking lot from Rio Del Mar beach. The pizzas are all 12 inches and ended up ordering a pepperoni pizza and a chorizo and potato hand pie. The pizza was made to order in their brick oven. I took the order to go and didn't realize until I got home that they gave me the spinach hand pie instead- easy mistake I guess. The crust was really good but the filling wasn't what I wanted. The pizza itself was ok. I'd probably come back to try some of their other offerings, but there are better pizzas in town.

Came to this place several times. The food can be good, but it can also be substandard. The service, however, has been consistently substandard. Today we ordered a quiche and the girl being the counter told us we would be called when it’s ready, and then she told us we couldn’t wait inside because it ‘made her feel uncomfortable’. I mean, we are customers - it’s a serious problem if the presence of customers makes her feel uncomfortable. The ladies sitting next to us ordered pizza and it was soggy and practically inedible. To top it all, the Parmesan was moldy! The manager was nice enough to refund them (hence 2 stars, otherwise it would have been 1 star).

Lukewarm coffee, high prices. Sometimes they have obnoxious messages on the whiteboard coaching patrons on etiquette and how to address your severs, “say please and thank you to your server”, ask your server about their day, etc. Usually out of common coffee choices. Location and pizza are great.
Coffee prices are outrageous if you stray from the norm. Ie substituting to oatmilk, soy, decaf, paper cup etc will be additional charges.. Young staff. Some have malaise attitude. No atmosphere inside but you can take your Coffee to go and walk the beach which is just across the parking lot.
Staff was friendly and the vibe was good, but the coffee was worse than Peet’s. Pastries were definitely decent!

This morning (8/23/25) my wife and I entered Venus Pie Trap at 10:50am. We have eaten at the restaurant several times after beach walks as it is a fun setting. There was no one in the restaurant besides us and the 3 young ladies working behind the counter. We browsed the pastry/pie case for a couple of minutes and decided to order a slice of Mexican chocolate pie and Key Lime pie. We moved over and stood in front of the cash register for 4-5 minutes. The 3 workers NEVER made eye contact with us or spoke a word to us. One girl made herself an iced coffee drink, set it on the back counter, and continued speaking with the other 2 girls. Another girl was making drinks for some guys who were waiting outside. The 3rd girl just conversed with the other 2. All three displayed Zero customer service / 100% cluelessness. We walked out of the restaurant without saying a word. We ate at the Venus Distillery/Restaurant next door a week ago and had great service. Quite a contrast to what we experienced today. All three young ladies were lousy ambassadors for the Pie Trap.
