Avis sur bar Bodega Aspe
Valentine's Day, 4pm, they are packed. We popped in for a little nibble without a reservation and we were seated quickly. This place is amazing. We'll be back for a ready dinner.
Such a good place, the paella is huge so I recommend getting one to share between two if you’re ordering other dishes. Their cheeses are fresh and such a tasty variety. The inside looks amazing too, small but very cozy and it feels more private.
My best friend and I went here for lunch right after visiting the cat cafe across the street and everything was WONDERFUL. We sat out on the patio (last summer when it was nice weather) and ordered a bunch of tapas including the jamon Serrano with manchego, croquetas, lamb chops, and more! The service was great and seating was nice for a nice day in Georgetown :)
My boyfriend & I ate here for dinner a few weeks ago. Booked reservations the same day. The interior is romantic & cozy. Great for date night. Servers are quick to bring out your food. The menu is varied & portions were generous. I like the tapas idea because of the variety of dishes one gets to try. We ordered paella, grilled octopus, lentil soup, sangria, and a few smaller vegetable dishes. I was so full be the end of our meal, and we still had enough food takeaway.
We thoroughly enjoyed Bodega! We have been to Spain many times and loved the tapas there. Bodega is a worm hole that transported us temporarily back to southern Spain so we could once again enjoy tapas. The atmosphere and pace was also very authentic. Service was fast but unhurried. The attention to detail was spectacular. I will return.
We had a wonderful meal at Bodega. We arrived considerably earlier than our reservation time of 5:45, but we were seated immediately. The food was fantastic and the service was prompt and helpful. We didn't choose anything wild. We shared 5 tapas including olives, garlic shrimp, octopus with potatoes, patatas bravas and short rib filled peppers. Everything was just right. We finished with the chocolate tart. Dinner with a beer and a couple of glasses of wine was less than $130.
100% recommend! I live in Florida, but i have gone back a second time just to visit this place again! I love REAL Spanish tapas and this is about as close as it gets outside Spain. The almonds...- my favorite! Gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas, quesos !!!, lamb chops etc. I forgot a bag at the restaurant this time around and had a flight out so couldn't make it back to get it. I called the restaurant and Maya so kindly offered to ship it to me. please give this place a try if you get the chance :) Also, the cute cat cafe across the street is worth a visit to support a good cause :)
Bodega is one of my favorite Spanish restaurants in DC to be honest I think it’s better than Barcelona wine bar. Their sangria is the best they make it in house. I love the Spanish top of style because you can share with your friends and loved ones. I’ve been here for a work events with friends and my significant other. Definitely a hidden gem in DC. You will not regret.
I've searched for years to have a paella measure up to what I've had in Spain. Bodega...I will look no further! The cooks are phenomenal, the seafood melted in your mouth. My husband and I went enjoyed the dinner for 2 which we got to enjoy cheeses, hot/cold tapas and dessert along with the paella. The price was a deal but it's truly priceless to enjoy a cozy environment where the staff make you feel like family, even singing at times, with food that seems simple but beautifully prepared with true heart and soul. Can't wait to return.
The food was fantastic and came out very quick. The ambiance was great, and they held our reservation for 15 minutes while we were sorting out parking. However, the service was lackluster. Left a lot to be desired. Barely checked on us throughout the dinner, didn't ask how our food was till the end, and we felt rushed to get the check. Overall messed with the experience.
If you are tired of Barcelona wine bar (as I am) this is a nice alternative for tapas. Similarly priced with a lot of different options. Favorites were the croquettes, steak, and the garlic shrimp! We did not get the paella but the people sitting next to us did and it smelled delicious. This restaurant also has a great deal where for $125 (for two people) you get a cheese plate, 2 cold tapas, 3 hot tapas, 1 paella, 1 dessert and half priced sangria. I think that is a great deal and will be doing that the next time we go!
Great place for happy hour or hangout with friends. Convenient location, easy access when in Georgetown, DC. Walkable with nearby parking garage if needed. narrow space inside , typical DC vibe, felt a bit tight especially when the waiters started to walking around in faster pace. Dark interior with slight European decor…interesting and fun to look at. We ordered steak, shrimp, lamb chops, rosters pepper and bread with cheese, along with drinks. The quality of the foods were great. Meats were juicy & not over cooked. Shrimps was tasty but not very special, so was the Spanish bread with cheese. Steak was full of flavor and easy to chew. Service was attentive but lack of warmth, missing the personal touch to it, we felt just like a number on the clicker. If you like tapas like I do, this place is OKAY, & not great. 仅供参考
This restaurant offers a wide variety of Spanish dishes and good service, but the food overall fell short of expectations. The garlic shrimp stood out as excellent, but the octopus, steak, and paella were underwhelming. The paella, in particular, was a big disappointment, flavorless and missing the signature crispy rice at the bottom, a hallmark of a good paella
Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge is such a stylish and vibrant spot—perfect if you’re in the mood for delicious tapas and a fun night out. The atmosphere is trendy yet cozy, with great music and a lively crowd that makes it feel special without being overwhelming. The tapas menu has a wonderful variety of authentic Spanish flavors, and everything we ordered was fresh and beautifully presented. The patatas bravas and the grilled octopus were particular favorites of mine! The cocktails were well-crafted and paired nicely with the food. Prices are on the higher side ($30–50 per person), so it feels more like a treat or special occasion spot rather than casual dining. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.
Nice atmosphere and accessible in Georgetown. We ordered the sauteed shrimp, chicken croquettes, sauteed mushrooms, which were all just okay, but the bacon wrapped dates were absolutely delicious. I don't recommend getting the patatas bravas, they tasted like home fries with Frank's buffalo sauce on top. The red sangria was very good and reminded me of a Spanish style cold mulled wine. The servers were very nice and attentive.
Mediocre experience, we ordered the salad, and the nuts were stale. When I told the waiter, he said that the taste is normal. Grilled prawns had good flavour, but texture was mushy. Octopus was decent but nothing to rave about. Lamb chops were quite tender and juicy, but overly charred on the exterior. Overall very expensive for the quality of food and portion size, not worth coming back.
