We have been blessed to travel often and experience many exceptional dining opportunities along the way; Bosq exceeded expectations in all of the important areas: quality, creativity, service, presentation, grape options, etc. The dark atmosphere and limited tables is intimate and not intimidating—makes for a great date night or a protected important conversation over a thoughtful meal. The team is aware of its (well-deserved) awards but simultaneously approachable and friendly. We arrived a bit too early and were still welcomed kindly by the Host, AGM, Sommelier, and Servers. There was a nice little welcome note from Chef’s wife at the table too. It’s always great to feel wanted, as if you’ve been invited to a friend’s home for a supper party. Highly recognized chefs and touted hospitality stars/brands can get caught resting on past performances but that certainly is not the case here with Chef Barclay Dodge & Team. They shined! I believe it’s best when asking for recommendations to actually order what is suggested… and what better way to do that than to try the entire Chef’s tasting menu. First impressions are important, and the primary takeaway from the opening presentation was care. The Bosq team cares, a lot, about each plate and each ingredient. We enjoyed 9+ courses, each showing off in a different way. Some favorites: The deer bark with a parsnip taquito-curl dusted with smoked & shaved venison was masculine and salty and part of a fun display with foraged forest items atop some alpine bark made into a beautiful board-plate. The prawn dish was “spot” on… with cherry blossom and pickled mandarin offering an unexpected floral & citrus cut to the rich creamy buttery feel. The striped bass used fat farce in such a creative way. There is nobody experimenting with food decor, custom casing for local fish, and cooking techniques like on this plate. The care for sourcing local ingredients and elevating them with fresh techniques was highlighted on this plate. The star of the meal is the dry-aged duck breast, cooked perfectly with an addictive glaze and the best mole I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried 50+ across the US & Mexico). The dessert showcase included a roadside Quintana Roo honey called melipona. To source this in Aspen is impressive enough before even tasting it, but when you do you’ll realize it’s the sweetest granular tropical fruit honey in the western hemisphere, and that made the meat-to-sweet transition of the dinner just right. Mauricio, the young Sommelier is very talented, well-traveled, and understands European whites and South American reds with equal passion. I highly recommend the wine pairing(s) with the Chef’s tasting menu. Bosq is a new favorite, and we’ll be back to enjoy the summer variation of this forest-to-table tasting menu too. Well done Team Bosq!

My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed the 5-course tasting menu and found each dish to be outstandingly delicious! The creativity in each dish is beyond one's imagination, and the flavors and execution are top-notch! All members of the restaurant deliver exceptional service and are knowledgeable about every dish. If the roasted duck is on the menu, it's a MUST try - cooked to perfection. Definitely order the inflated cabbage - an unexpected dish of deliciousness. The lobster grilled over juniper branches was luxurious and a melt-in-your-mouth dish. I cannot rave enough about Bosq. It simply exceeded our expectations and provided us with a meal of a lifetime!

We had the pleasure of dining here while celebrating our anniversary. I can confidently say the only downside to the evening was when it had to come to a close. We had the honor of being served by Emma who made us instantly comfortable as well as our sommelier Joe who expertly guided us through the pairings which felt very personal. I wish I could personally thank every person who made our evening special, the entire staff worked seamlessly and we were left without a want. Thank you all SO much for a wonderful evening, tell "Bear"nard we say hello haha.

I was fortunate enough to dine at Bosq in 2024, after receiving a glowing recommendation from a local I met at an event. When I knew I was returning to Aspen, I made it a priority to secure a seat for this visit. I make it a mission to partake in Chef's tasting menus wherever I visit and the Bosq experience is in the upper echelons of my dining life. The team moves seamlessly like a well choreographed dance, which complements the delicious and well presented food. The sommelier did an excellent job with the pairings, given the complex flavors presented. Bravo Chef Dodge and Team.

My husband and I had the five course tasting menu and it was phenomenal!! Amazing flavours and presentation. The chef even wrote us a cute little card for it being our first time away from our baby which was such a sweet and personal touch. We will definitely come back here the next time we are in Aspen!

MUST VISIT IN ASPEN ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I will always remember my time at Bosq. My Fiance had this as a surprise after our engagement on Aspen mountain. I truly appreciate the owners being so sweet to him, and helping get our dinner coordinated. We travel all over and have been to multiple Michelin star restaurants, but Bosq is & forever will be #1 on my list for multiple reasons. -the food embodies Aspen perfectly. The presentation of the food, the stories behind the ingredients, and most importantly: the taste. You guys nailed it. -I loved how personable this experience was for us as well. I collect the menus from all MS restaurants we go to and frame them, and Bosq gave us one with our names on it + a handwritten letter & a beautiful candle from the owners. Wow! What a night to remember. Thank you for your hospitality, Molly & Chef. We will be back.

My partner and I have dined here several times and it’s always been a 10/10 magical experience! The dinner service is artfully crafted from start to finish, in an elegant yet warm homey atmosphere that supports connection and conversation. The attention to detail is immaculate, right down to the personalized note from the Chef’s wife welcoming me to Bosq! I highly recommend the 7 or 9 course tasting menu. Even though the first few courses seem small at first, the dishes are all portioned in such a way that by the time we reached desert I was stuffed! Every dish is so unique and bursting with flavor, the duck liver mousse and Colorado potatoes are to die for, but the star of the show is their bread! If you’re looking for the fully immersive experience, definitely get the wine pairings. Each wine is expertly paired with each dish, and the sommelier showcases some truly unique wines that I would never encounter anywhere else. The cocktails are crafted with just as much care and creativity as the food, echoing some of the unique umami, fermented, and forest foraged flavors that are a hallmark of their cuisine. The bar tender is so friendly, handsome, and knowledgeable, and always takes excellent care of me. Bosq’s friendly staff and regular clientele makes this place feel like the “Cheers” of Michelin star fine dining!

Definitely worth the visit! We had a magical evening, the rabbit was tender, the wagyu melted like a dream, the drinks were so fresh and natural, and the views outside made it all feel like a little love story. ⛰️🍸❤️‍🔥

I'm finally writing a review from my visit here back in October 2023. To this day, I still ponder on the multitude of dishes I was able to taste during my experience here, and it was that, an experience. This was my first Michelin star restaurant and I was a bit nervous about proper etiquette and being allowed to take photos of the food and wine labels. I was quickly put at ease by the wait staff that let me know phone eats first is highly encouraged so that you can share your experience with others. I'll do no justice explaining the dishes I got to try but will simply say everything was amazing. If in Aspen you should definitely make reservations to try this wonderful dining experience. I'd suggest the chefs selection tasting menu with the wine pairings.

Outstanding meal. Definitely a must try if you are a foodie. We did the 5 course meal and you get to choose your 5 dishes. Was the perfect amount of food. Highlights include the squash flower for appetizers, duck and sea scallops for main dishes. Service was excellent and even brought us extra bread when we asked. Also this restaurant is the only chef-owned restaurant in Aspen! Highly recommend!

What a phenomenal experience. The tasting menu had wonderful choices, and the presentation was on point. I would not hesitate to enjoy a truly unique meal here again. Food was local sourced and brilliantly prepared. The staff love what they do and are eager to please.

Delicious food. Even the simplest things like the sourdough with butter were mind blowing. I wished the portions were slightly bigger because I just wanted to live in each moment longer. Wonderfully wintery flavors from spiced pumpkin breads and consumes. Each plate was a beautiful work of art to look at as well. Service was a bit slow and scattered at first but really not a big deal.

A quick thank you Bosq staff, from myself and my lovely partner, who had the pleasure of dining there last weekend. We were curious what the word "Michelin" would translate to in a ski resort and were pleasantly surprised to find it's meaning was alive and well in your restaurant. Everything we ate was "eye-rolling" delicious, but I personally want anyone who might read this to know that the artichoke dish is a Must. Not as a dish you share with your tablemates, but as a dish everyone should enjoy. My partner wanted to make sure that I also bragged about the Waygu dish, so also know that you'll be mad if you don't try it. The service and atmosphere was also exceptional - the staff was very informed about the menu and the history of the restaurant, and somehow were perfect on my and my partner's course selections. One thing I particularly enjoyed was that I didn't need to raise my voice to have a conversation - that isn't always the case in small establishments. The butterscotch dessert [when is the last time you've had a good butterscotch Anything] was a perfect size and end to an excellent evening. Lastly, the sommelier, like everything else, was informative while also being unobtrusive, which is not always the case... Thank you again Bosq for a wonderful ending to a superb day - in short, this is why we ski Aspen instead of somewhere else...

Outstanding service. Our glasses were always filled up and the table was often cleaned. Great food presentation. We were worried about the portion might be small. But we ended up eating full. Our favorites are duck 2.0, scallop, and the lobster. Things that could be better: I wish they can offer toilet seat cover in the bathroom The suggested tips seem to be calculated based on after-tax price, which feels not right.

An absolutely stellar experience! We cannot recommend Bosq highly enough. We have dined at Michelin-starred restaurants in London, Paris, Lyon, Los Angeles, Napa, Chicago… and we cannot recall ever having had a better meal. We enjoyed the five-course tasting menu, and found each course delicious, creative, interesting, and beautifully plated. Not only did Chef Barclay and the kitchen over-perform, but the wait staff and sommelier were warm, friendly, professional, and deft. Do not miss this Aspen gem!

Best. Experience. In Aspen. Came back for another round this year. Musts - Reserve seats at bar, have an open mind, let Daniel, Nick and company do the rest. The creativity and professionalism of the talented team here is world class. I say that as someone who has been blessed to travel all over and eat at some of the world's best restaurants. My favorites - the lamb tartare, mushrooms, lobster and duck. The caviar dish was also amazing. Do yourself a favor and get the wine pairings. Nick is excellent at pairing and seeks out some unique options. I know it may not be for everyone, but if you appreciate creativity and dedication to craft then you will absolutely love Bosq.

A MUST for foodies while in Aspen, CO. Chef prepares beautiful presentations/tastings a La carte (4 courses or more) which was fun for the 4 of us - 2 of us had dietary restrictions (gluten free, vegan) but there was something superb for everyone’s taste buds. Excellent wine list along with a delightful choice of creative and delicious non alcohol or low alcohol cocktails. An extravaganza of eclectic courses including caviar, elk, scallop, squash blossom, wagyu beef, elk, and more. Wow! High end service created an impeccable dining experience.

A must try fine dining experience in Aspen. If I were the Michelin, I would give Bosq 2 stars without hesitation. The food is superb and the service us outstanding. The highlights for me on the menu were the lobster and the peach dessert. The lobster was cook to perfection e, and the dish was as good as, if not better than the ones I had in some Michelin 3-star restaurants. I will finitely come back to Aspen soon, just to dine again at Bosq.

Intimate setting, attentive staff, and creative tasting menu. Our party of 4 felt the wine pairing topped this exceptional experience off, and highly recommend it.

I don’t have enough words to express how delicious and top notch the food is here. The bison was DELICIOUS, reminded me of ceviche de soya but 5x tastier. The oxtail mole is a must have, from the presentation to the taste, it was a 10. The mole was on the sweeter side, but it’s so perfectly balanced that I seriously wanted to lick the dish! I’m from Oaxaca and the mole I grew up with is based out of more dark chile chilhuacle and tastes slightly bold, I’ve always preferred Poblano style mole, not sure if this was the case but it was delicious! The staff were so kind and knowledgeable of the menu and made sure all our needs were met, Tyler and a guy from Ukraine were just fenomenal. Can’t wait to return!

Had a wonderful dinner at Bosq. There aren’t many vegan dishes on the menu, but tell the server and they will take great care of you. We always love having the chef go rogue and prepare something for us. The Chef and owner of Bosq did not disappoint. The mushroom dish he prepared as main dish over a hazelnut miso was absolutely fabulous. This gent has talent! The atmosphere is adorbs and def a family vibe - the owners wife was there and knew everyone. Cool place.

This visit was a little over year ago on our wedding day! What a special evening! My husband and I married ourselves at the top of Mt. Elbert this past fall, and we chose Bosq for our "wedding dinner," just the two of us. I had let Bosq know about the special occasion coming up, and they welcomed us with some champagne. The owner came out to chat since he thought we had a cool story, and they went above and beyond to make us feel special. The food itself was simply amazing. I've never had bone marrow, so that was one of the things we wanted to try. It was delicious! We tried a variety of things, and everything was delicious. The dishes are very "modern" and trendy, and the presentation was gorgeous. Thank you for a special evening, Bosq!

Wow. What a hidden gem in Aspen! I love the food in Aspen, but most of it falls in the realm of "classic". Very few restaurants push the culinary envelope, but Bosq is one of them. From Pork Cocoa tacos to scallops with horseradish crumbles, to one of the best roast chickens I've ever had, this is a MUST in Aspen.

L
Lusely Gonzalez

Service was great. The food was incredible. The only thing they should improve in is their wine list it’s not very big and they should have a wider selection for the amazing food.

M
Megan Kelly

I normally wouldn't go to a place as extravagant as Bosq, but when in Aspen! My partner and I arrived to town late, and most restaurants in the area closed at 9 or needed a reservation, but we were lucky to come into Bosq when there was some bar seating available. We loved getting to chat with the bartender, Justin; he gave fantastic service and great conversation. The food and atmosphere was exceptional. This was a very special experience and if you're comfortable treating yourself, I definitely recommend it. (Pardon the quality on the only food picture I got, it was dark, so it doesn't do this beautiful dish justice!)

I’ve been visiting Aspen for 45+ years and this is by far thee best dining experience I’ve been privileged enough to attend. I typically eat at Bosq twice whilst in town both for my winter and summer trips, always enjoying their patio on Wagner Park, people watching as well as enjoying sunset. This winter while their main location is under construction, we attended the pop-up at The Little Nell, which was ideal because we stayed upstairs for Christmas week. The food is exquisite, creative and presentation, whimsical. Their sommelier also did a fantastic job pairing the wine flight to the meal. The staff has all been with them for years so was both attentive and knowledgeable on each dish, which was impressive considering the amount of preparation that goes into each bite. We can’t speak more highly about our experience as it is the most memorable meal we continue to have in Aspen. We are excited about our upcoming ski trip President’s Day weekend and already made another reservation to bring the 2 other couples we’re traveling with, neither of who have been to Bosq yet. Keep up the great work, Chef Barclay and team! See you soon! -Christopher

The food here is absolutely outstanding, and the service is truly impeccable. Each dish feels like a reflection of Aspen itself—rooted in nature, beautifully balanced, and satisfying without ever being overwhelming. I chose the chef’s tasting menu with the mocktail pairing, and it completely exceeded my expectations. Every sip and bite worked in harmony, creating a memorable, one-of-a-kind experience. This is an absolute must-try in Aspen, and while I can only speak for the mocktail pairing (which I highly recommend), I can only imagine the wine pairings are equally exceptional.

We come to Bosque every time we go to Aspen. Our recent experience in September 2025 was absolutely extraordinary, just like the previous ones. Chef Barkley and his team really deserve the Michelin star and it shows in every detail and every subtle taste that chef creates. We look forward to returning as soon as possible.

The prices in aspen are crazy and bosq is no exception. With that said, it was one of the few meals that I think was worth the price. We were celebrating our engagement and the staff went above and beyond to keep me and my fiance happy. The food was exciting and delicious, the restaurant is the best location in town and very beautiful. Only thing to complain about is the price, but compared to the rest of town think it is fair price.

What a fantastic dining experience at Bosq! Each course was unique and full of flavor and the presentation was stunning! Particularly enjoyed the garden water with the squash blossom and wow, the maitake umami was so robust and flavorful. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Highly recommended!!

What a delightful and delicious restaurant. The staff are next level amazing and so very kind. The sommelier, Joe, created an experience that we have never had before, even at 2 or 3 Michelin star restaurants. The care and expertise given to the menu and the ingredients is nothing short of awe inspiring and tasted fantastic. Can not say enough good things about this restaurant, everything was top notch! 10/10!!!

Bosq: A Michelin-Starred Jewel That Deserves Three Tucked into the heart of Aspen, Colorado, Bosq is more than just a dining destination—it’s a sensory experience, a love letter to the land, and a masterclass in modern, sustainable cuisine. Led by the visionary Chef Barclay Dodge, this one-Michelin-starred restaurant sets a new standard for what fine dining should be. But make no mistake—Bosq is worthy of three stars. Chef Barclay’s culinary philosophy is deeply rooted in foraging, sustainability, and an obsessive commitment to pristine ingredients. Every dish tells a story, inspired by the seasons, the mountains, and the global flavors he has mastered throughout his career. Ingredients are meticulously sourced, often hand-foraged from the wild, and handled with an artistry that transforms them into pure alchemy on the plate. Expect bold yet elegant flavors, with fire, smoke, and fermentation often playing a role in the composition. The menu is ever-changing, dictated by nature rather than trends, making each visit an entirely new journey. Beyond the kitchen, Bosq delivers hospitality at the highest level. Every member of the team exudes a passion for their craft, providing polished yet warm service that makes guests feel both at ease and utterly indulged. The intimate dining room creates a personal connection to the experience, while the impeccable wine pairings and cocktail program add yet another layer of excellence. For those who seek an unforgettable dining experience in Aspen, Bosq is not just a recommendation—it’s a must. Michelin may have awarded it one star, but anyone who has dined here knows that Bosq is operating at a three-star level. If there were ever a restaurant poised for greater recognition, this is it.

Outstanding! Best restaurant in Aspen. Came here for Valentine’s Day. The food is both art and yet an incredible palate experience. Bravo chef Dodge. You made our night. Shout out to our amazing bartender Ryan who served us some incredible non-alcoholic creations as well.

BOSQ delivers an exceptional Michelin-level dining experience from start to finish. Every detail is intentional—from the warm, refined ambiance to the impeccable service that makes you feel genuinely welcomed without ever being intrusive. The cuisine is thoughtful, creative, and beautifully executed. Each dish showcases incredible technique, balance, and respect for ingredients, with flavors that are both refined and memorable. The tasting menu flows perfectly, offering surprises while maintaining harmony throughout the experience. The chef came out to introduce himself, which was a nice touch. Service is outstanding: knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate. The team clearly takes pride in what they do, and it elevates the entire evening. Pairings and recommendations are spot-on, adding depth to each course. BOSQ is not just a meal—it’s a culinary journey. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates excellence, artistry, and true hospitality. Highly deserving of its Michelin recognition.

Two of us each had the five course meal and were both blown away by the creativity, tastes, and experience. Service was exceptional - plates were paced efficiently (even quickly, compared to some tasting menus, which I don’t mind at all) and staff were very helpful and descriptive without ever crossing the line into pretentiousness. 5 courses was actually 8, with the chef’s additions. Well worth the cost.

Chef Barclay Dodge is one of the top chefs in the world, hands down. Unfortunately I was too young to have experienced his magic at El Bulli in Spain where he earned his chops, but I was lucky enough to know him through the Mogador days in Aspen where he turned out some of the most creative and exceptional dishes of our time. The guy is literally one of the top culinary artists in the world, and Aspen is exceptionally lucky to still have him on the gastro scene.

B

Very excited to go here at the end of last ski season. Menu looked interesting, making creative use of local ingredients with inspired presentations. Photos reflect that, but the flavors didn’t quite pop the way I had expected. Some greens were a bit bland. Lobster a bit on tough side. My opinion on that may have been skewed as bias just had fresh lobster in Maine. Overall still an excellent meal, but I was expecting more. Caviar bump was well worth the extra. My favorite dish. Wine pairings were all great and service flawless.

V
Virginia Huffman

The service started out amazing but sadly went south after our second course. Food also started out amazing with a tasty starter. The street zucchini was outstanding as well as the perfectly cooked lobster with a delightful sauce. The duck was flavorful but a bit tough. Most all of the presentation was beautiful. The fish was a 1/5 with both lackluster presentation and boring taste. Could have been a 5/5. But alas with the price should have knocked our socks off.

A
Adam Ellis

The tasting menu was very good, but not incredible, which it should have been for the price.

N
Nate Perkins

Ok TBH if I drop $600 for dinner for two, I expect to be pretty wowed, and I just wasn't. The good: Presentation! All the dishes looked great. Chef is going for the Keller vibe (yes been there). The smoked salmon crackers just looked beautiful in particular. The beef tenderloin was also great. Excellent savory flavors and the beef flavor really shined through. The average: Cocktails ("Buddy the Elf Dancing on Your Lawn") had a catchy fun name but is really just a slight spin on an old fashioned and pretty unremarkable for $25. The wine was a decent Burgundy Pinot, but not a great one and marked up 250% from retail. The below average: Flavors were often lost. For example, the smoked salmon looked great but the smoked salmon was nearly indiscernible. Similarly on the shiitake skewers the venison was microplaned venison jerky, completely lost, as was the pine touted in the housemade cheese. The grilled lobster was overpowered by the strong dill sauce, and the sweet lobster flavor was lost. The lamb harissa was dense and without much spice and not really any acidity. Overall I think the place puts a lot of focus on presentation but (at this price point) the layers and balance of flavors are not quite at par.

Z
Zach Maeser

Very disappointed. For 2 cocktails, the chef tasting menu and the basic wine pairing (plus tip) the total cost was about $1,400. This food would have been disappointing for half that price. The rabbit was very tough, the lobster was rubbery, and none of the courses were all that impressive which is expected from a Michelin star $1400 meal. Overall would not recommend.

Z
Zilu Zhou

Service and atmosphere are good. Food-wise, I have to criticize the portion. It’s outrageous to spend $300 (per person) and ended up hungry (the empanadas next door is amazing btw). Disappointed. (The photo is there ny strip under the sweet potato chips and it’s their main course. Please show the oz next time :) )

N
Noah Jackson

This is a restaurant that it’s going to charge you a 3% kitchen appreciation fee, a separate “green” fee, and $20 for tapwater that has been filtered. Absolute clowns are running this place; unfortunately almost made me the bigger clown, but I have made them remove those items from my bill. Worst Michelin rated place I’ve ever been to.
