this review is more so about the service than the food. A young man named Kaelob was taking orders and bringing them to vehicles while waiting in line. Now I know that is not unheard of, but you could tell he really takes pride in his job. I witnessed him being sent back twice by a customer who said she forgot to ask for honey & then she remembered that she needed ketchup. He did not hesitate to run back in either time & get those things. As for the food, I had a truly complicated order & they did not miss anything! The food was hot & fresh.

As always if you want great chicken tenders Chicken Express is where you want to be! They were accurate with our order. Food was hot and we waited about 10 min total in line to drive off. Employees wire proper PPE facial coverings and were polite. Food was great!

Okra was over cooked and should not have been served to customers. Chicken was okay. The order taker was very friendly and the person who brought my order out so I didn't have to wait. I'll give it another chance.

I went in mid afternoon for a late lunch. The kids behind the counter acted like they were counting the minutes until the end of their shift. They weren't rude or anything but they weren't real enthused to be there either. I was pleased to see livers on the menu and so I ordered a liver plate, with white gravy and Cole slaw. The kid behind the counter told me that it would be a 15 minutes wait for livers, okay I replied, I have no where to be. The livers were done in less than ten minutes and I sat down with my food. The livers were delicious and hot if not a bit under seasoned, nothing that some salt and pepper wouldn't fix. Their Cole slaw was pretty good but the gravy was a bit bland. The diet Pepsi from the fountain didn't taste right and it made me wonder when the last time the fountain and lines had been cleaned. Overall the livers were pretty awesome, the slaw okay and the rest left something to be desired. I'd go back again just for the livers .

I stopped here to get an iced tea and decided to get an order of cheese sticks for $2.59. I got a medium size box with only 2 cheese sticks and nothing to dip them in. lol $1.29 each is a little steep for small cheese sticks. They weren’t bad but it seemed like a rip off.

Great service is very friendly, but the chicken tenders were so bland. No flavor at all. There is no flavor for the gravy as well. The tenders were room temperature, not fresh at all. The mini poppers were the best items served.

I was so disappointed. It was supposed to be me treating myself to catfish but it was overcooked, dry, and gross. I didnt even eat most of it. Even the mashed potatoes were bad. I'm not sure what happened that day but I'm certainly not craving that anymore.

We went there Saturday, because my sister wanted some water. Many years ago, we used to come to Aubrey for some chicken, in fact we bought an order and took some home! At the time, it was good, but given quite a few of the bad reviews --it's questionable-- As we were waiting for the water, and the other 2 ladies wanted tea, we waited quite a long time, hot as it was--one of the ladies had to call in as we sat in the drive-thru and tell them about our order, and the lady brought out the drinks. So again, given the bad reviews, I wonder about the 2 ladies' tea, if it was of good quality or not, since some have complained about the taste. As I said before, we used to eat there years ago, and it was good. But I see now that it went down-hill, and I doubt if we'd eat there. We get our chicken in Hickory Creek, and it's pretty good, or sometimes in Denton, since we live close by. Chicken Express--I cringe eating there in 'Old Aubrey since your service is pretty bad!

I ordered okra from there tonight and you was clearly able to see that they read deep-fried to get it hot. I should not have to pay for food that is not prepare it right. Also maybe the staff needs to be replaced or retrained for us customers to have a better experience.

Haven't been to chicken express in a while and not sure if I'll go back. Evidently they cook the corn nuggets and okra in the same oil as the spicy stuff? We don't do spicy. Ended up throwing away more than we ate. And all locations should learn to not cook fries first. While waiting on livers and okra fries got cold. Threw most away. Didn't taste fresh or we would have reheated them. Temperature on livers okra, corn nuggets was hot. Veggies just had a spicy aftertaste. Employees were friendly.

I visited this store on a number of occasions and have come to expect "poor quality chicken." When fried chicken and fish is all you sell, I expect High quality product for my money. I've noticed it's difficult not to get old product that should not have been sold to the customer because it was past its Window of quality and freshness. This store has to do better.

Made an order online, got to store, and a nice lady said, "It's not ready yet." I've been waiting for 50 minutes. The point of an online order is to start it when you get the order, that way people aren't waiting around in your lobby. Do better Chicken Express. First I want to say the person at the front counter was great. Unfortunately, the people in the back I cannot say the same about. I ordered my food online at 12:57 arrived at 1:10 because they texted me and told me it was ready. I checked in with the lady at the front counter and she went to the back and said they were still working on it. Which is crazy because I only ordered a four piece tender combo. But I told her thank you and took a seat and then at 1:28 My order finally came out after the seven people that were in line behind me had already gotten their food. Apparently, at this location, if you order online, they don’t give a damn about your order and will make every single order for the dine in before they work on yours. I checked my order before I left and they forgot all the condiments I asked for so I had to go back to the counter again, My fries and corn nuggets were cold…. Over a 30 minute wait time for cold food is pretty unacceptable… This was my first time going to chicken express in about five years, and I will not be going back probably for another five.

The bigger problem is that they don't always pay attention to your order. Or they just ignore it to move the line along faster. If I order 25 regular chicken strips, I don't expect to get a mixture of regular and spicy. While I just find it annoying, my 6 year old just won't eat any of it. That results in a lot of wasted food and money.

Writing this sitting in the parking lot while my husband returns inside for the 3rd time to retrieve our entire order. 1) they couldn’t do a 12 piece but could do two 8 piece??? What? Then I was asked would I actually do the 8 not the 12 because they would have to cook more chicken. To which I replied sure I’ll not feed a couple of my kids. Ended up getting a 12 piece. 2) only have Mac n cheese and corn for sides. Nothing else. Find out we didn’t get corn as a matter of fact we received no sides. Husband returns to retrieve sides. They said oh we didn’t have any so rather than ask us what we would like to replace that with they said they just didn’t give them to us. Excuse me what🤯 3) No rolls husband returns to get roles they apologize but they send them home with staff? What? We paid for them. Not sure why 3 teenagers were left to work a closing shift if they had zero regard for the customer. I know many teenagers who are fantastic and use critical thinking. This was a mess. Typically our favorite place to eat not sure we will be back till we know we will get what we actually pay for without returning multiple times.

Only gave this place a one star to be able to create the review. I called the business today for two issues, one I didn’t have my fries for my number one and two we had a huge hair in our food. The young man was extremely defensive and asked me to bring my food all the way back to “show” him after I had already made it to my kids lunch to eat. Worst CE and customer service ever!!!!

Service was decent but my main problem is with the manager, Chris. He is rude when he is there and that's rare because he leaves constantly while on shift. None of his workers have their food certification meaning they're not allowed to work. Half of the employees there are rude and forget parts of your order. I ordered the 2 fish with a roll and french fries and I never got my roll or french fries and it happened numerous times.

Walked in and stood in front of the register for a few minutes. 2 guys were in the back playing on their phones. After a while some guy walked out of the bathroom and walked to the back of the kitchen. No one was taking orders so we left. After reading g these reviews looks like we dodged a bullet.

At 7:30 last night I got a 16 piece mixed chicken with an extra mashed potato I got home they had what looked to be like they scooped a little bit of our mashed potatoes out. and my okra was really cold and damp so we had to warm it up in the microwave, the chicken was so salty, I was very upset I will never go back again for now… you pay for a good meal and you get cold food and can’t feed all your family because there’s barely anything. 50.00 dollars for a meal that didn’t even feed my family?? the manager said if I could bring our food back up there they would replace it, like you want me to bring the food back up there after we put it on our plates and ate it already? No we threw it away because it was horrible we’ve never had this problem before..

Update: went again today. Had family over so I decided to get the family meal. 16 piece, with 3 sides and a big gallon of sweet tea.. Checked that sides, because they always mess up. They had everything correct. Got home, they gave me 12 pieces, still rang me up 16 pieces. Tried to call, but no luck and by the time I would of drove over there it would of already been closed. Place used to be good. Stopped by today to order. Have a truck and trailer so I can't fit thru the drive thru. I politely knocked on the doors so I could place an order to go. That's what I've done with evert other location I've gone to and they're nothing but polite. These 2 wouldn't even tell me to phone in or go through the drive thru carless. Just laughed that I couldn't go in and ignored me.

Order 2 Large orders chicken gizzards. Why over cooked and were like leather. Are at the Frisco Chicken last week food was Awesome now I know why the Aubrey store had NO customers. I will not be eating at that store ever again. Call them and told them our food was horrible we were told to enjoy our food and have a good evening!

Food honestly just keeps getting worse over time. They constantly screw up orders, serve overcooked chicken and under cooked sides. The one in Sanger is so much better. Train your staff better or hire new employees.

This Chicken Express location needs to be close. Needs new management, manager, and knowledgeable employees. I arrived at this location today, ordering the food at the drive-thru. After placing an order, nothing was stated about a waiting period on receiving the order. I pulled up towards the window where one car was ahead of me. The employee was holding a conversation with the driver, no big deal. 5 minutes or so pass, and the drivers order comes out. The employee continues conversation with the driver for another min or so, then drives off. I pull up to the window, at which time the employee states it will take 20 mins for my order to be completed, and would i wait. At this point, I was hot. To think from the time I ordered and waited, I should wait no longer than 10 mins or 15 at the most for chicken to be ready. I said no and drove off. There is no way this establishment should remain open. The value it brings to this community is absurd. From over cooked to unqualified employees (minors running a franchise). I give the respect for doing what they can but there need to be better food and service in this area. I will be taking my business else where till there is a new establishment in this community.

I've never had a problem with Chicken Express, but today we ordered 3 of the chicken strip meals with a side & a drink. We ordered 3 large unsweetened teas & when we got them to the house to get ready to eat we found out all of the teas were sweet. When I called to explain, the manager just said, "sorry about that." He didn't offer any type of solution to the matter nor do I think he cared to resolve it.

This is my second time coming here and last. Let’s start off about the rolls🤮I don’t understand why would you want to serve that. I have been to other locations and the food was good and fresh. Lastly the Fries and Chicken 🤢🤢either get someone that cares about presentation and quality or keep loosing Guest. I wish it was 0 stars because 1 star is pushing it🤣!!

We came in to eat. Order a 7 pieces tender meal and a 2 piece chicken. Went up once and was told it had to cook 11 minutes, waited again, total wait was 30 minutes, canceled order and left. The girl at the front counter was no help. We love Chicken Express, but we will not be going back to this one. Horrible service.

If I could leave a zero I would. We’ve gone to this location at least 5 times. The last straw was when we got unsweet teas and chicken strips. My sister kept telling me hers tasted like it had chemical in it. Mine tasted fine and I kept telling her she was wrong. Later on in our trip she told me to taste hers. It was terrible! It was like they left cleaning chemicals in the machine from the night before and put tea on top of it. It was awful. We got there right at 11:00 and all of the tables were dirty as they opened. I had to say something when I walked in as heard people talking in the drive thru and was there for 10 minutes before they would acknowledge me. I will not go there again. Terrible experience and people that work there just don’t care.

It’s pretty sad we ALWAYS have to check the food to make sure it’s not burnt and make sure it’s correct. When we order the fried pickles, this is what we get most the time. Not often do I actually get a full “family” size and it cooked right. The one time I send my husband to get food, he didn’t check the box. Sadly, I wish he would have because we would have made them redo it. This store is disappointing quality wise. The service at the window has never been an issue! They are always nice and helpful. But I hate that we paid almost $6 for this. I was looking forward to the pickles, but sad to say it fell short. The box was mostly empty and barely had any pickles that were edible, they were dried up completely and broke when you touched them. I’m honestly tired of not getting what we pay for. We do try to make sure to speak up when things aren’t right, but this is just happening too often to wanna go back. Please do better.

Came inn today to get the gizzards. Only go to chicken express cause I thought they always made fresh to order gizzards but this one in pilot point i guess didn't get the memo. Cold gizzards for 20 bucks no bueno

They usually take forever if you go through the drive through. And there is often bits of hair or twine. The sanity is disturbingly low and the chicken is rarely ever hot, only Luke warm most times.

Ordered a 4pc tender meal and 2 nuggets were apparently considered tenders. After eating one tender I took a picture of the 3 "tenders" I had left. We ordered a 4pc spicy tender meal that didn't have gravy served with it so they asked for BBQ sauce and had to pay for bbq sauce! The mashed potatoes with both meals were not hot, I'd say lukewarm. Apparently gizzards aren't served with gravy. We had a problem with the water button on the soda machine where it got stuck so as water kept pouring out the order taker went to tell the manager and the manager never came out to assist the situation. I ended up fixing their issue and guess what? STILL no sight of the manager. No paper towels in the bathroom. Ugh. The remodel was a joke! Ever since the prices have been raised and you would think the customer service would at least be better but now that they don't have 50 cent tea, this place is just one of the FEW places in old Aubrey and I feel like thats the only reason they even still have a place here.

I come here pretty often, but after today I’m not sure I’ll ever be back!!! The management is disappointing and lazy. Whilst I’ve been coming here, I’ve learned the blonde girl is the manager and her name is Holly. I went inside to get food for my family. It took about 20 minutes, maybe more, and for all those 20 minutes not a single person was boxing orders. I could see a girl in the drive thru, and the nice girl who took my order at the front, and in the back, far from the food, was Holly and another girl. They were probably talking the entire time I was waiting on my food and more, and did not once come to check any of the orders. The only reason why I got my food at all was because, again, after 20 or 25 minutes, the girl who was in the drive thru came over, I’m assuming because she noticed these girls just chitchatting and not working for such a long time, and made all the orders for the dining and drive thru. She was switching between making boxes of food for the customers and taking orders, and still during all that time, nobody bothered to come do so much as help. Thanks a lot to the drive thru girl, and no thanks at all to the manager Holly and whoever her friend was in the back. I don’t really know what her job is, since she was just talking my entire time here. This is not how a restaurant should be run! Why do the managers sit around while the lower employees do all the work?

I placed an online order for later pickup and received a text for picked up between 8:05 pm - 8:10 pm. It's 8:40 pm and I still don't have our order. Four cars have came and received their before us. The young lady excuses the girl at the window did tell them I was at window and the guy didn't drop the livers. No more Chicken Express for this household.

Horrible experience. They told me I couldn’t eat inside the building because they had to start cleaning the last hour they were open. Never mind I was inside the building ordering my food. Then they said they couldn’t get their credit card machine to work and asked if I had cash. I only had a 100 on me and they said they could t take it. So basically I was told I had to wait (inside the entire time) while we kept trying to make the card machine work. 3-4 attempts and it finally went through. I’m sorry but every time I eat here it’s just a bad experience. I will not return. The previous time my chicken was cold and another time my dinner roll was hard because the yeast didn’t allow it to rise. Why would they serve me a roll that was tiny and hard like that? Popeyes is a little further down the road but from now on I’m just driving there. Last, I’ve been here 15 minutes waiting for a two piece chicken combo without a single other person here or in the drive through. Get it together people. There is no other chicken express that is run as poorly as this location is and I doubt corporate will be please with your overall reviews. It’s sad at best.

Far and away the worst fast food place I’ve been too. Rude employees and 75% of the time the order is incorrect. I keep going back cause the kids love it but it just never gets better. We need another chicken e in crossroads so I never have to come back to this dump again.

I drove through at 5:00pm yesterday. Ordered snack pack and okra. The young lady was sweet and very helpful but it appeared she was the only person there. She took my money 14.90$ and left for a while. I got all ordered but the okra was not edible . It was obviously reheated cause it was hard. Potatoes as my side had a weird taste not edible. Roll was stale. It is sad when we have moved into the community and trying to eat to have this bad of an experience. So many people have moved here please let’s get it better. No mistake! Cashier/cook was not at fault!

Well, I went here with my friend. He got chicken, and I decided to go with the fish dish despite the restaurant name, Chicken Express. But damn, what a mistake! When the food arrived, it was the worst fish filet I had ever had. My friend tried it too and said the same. The fish had no fish taste whatsoever; it tasted like water. Very nasty, and the crispy layer was baked way too long; it had the same color as the chicken, really, really bad. And the chicken was also not the best. The only thing that was eatable here was the fries. So this, combined with the high price, means we will never come back here again.

I come here pretty often, but after today I’m not sure I’ll ever be back!!! The management is disappointing and lazy. Whilst I’ve been coming here, I’ve learned the blonde girl is the manager and her name is Holly. I went inside to get food for my family. It took about 20 minutes, maybe more, and for all those 20 minutes not a single person was boxing orders. I could see a girl in the drive thru, and the nice girl who took my order at the front, and in the back, far from the food, was Holly and another girl. They were probably talking the entire time I was waiting on my food and more, and did not once come to check any of the orders. The only reason why I got my food at all was because, again, after 20 or 25 minutes, the girl who was in the drive thru came over, I’m assuming because she noticed these girls just chitchatting and not working for such a long time, and made all the orders for the dining and drive thru. She was switching between making boxes of food for the customers and taking orders, and still during all that time, nobody bothered to come do so much as help. Thanks a lot to the drive thru girl, and no thanks at all to the manager Holly and whoever her friend was in the back. I don’t really know what her job is, since she was just talking my entire time here. This is not how a restaurant should be run! Why do the managers sit around while the lower employees do all the work?
