BE AWARE, THE BEST I was BORN IN JAMAICA. I tried three Jamaican restaurants in Austin it don’t compare at all . The flavor, I tried oxtail, curry chicken , rice and peas. And it is so delicious. This is ORIGINAL GRANDMA COOKING JAMAICAN FOOD. YASSS Big up
This restaurant is one of my Austin staples! The jerk chicken, rice with oxtail stew and plantain bowl is incredibly flavorful and delicious. The staff are always very friendly, food comes out quick, and prices are very reasonable for the quality.
Best chicken I've had in 8 years...since the last time I had Jamaican style chicken, except that time I was in the British Virgin Islands. The flavor is just INSANE, y'all. BBQ sauce was next level, distinct from all the Texas styles I've had before. Rice was and veggies were a perfect match—and I was skeptical about the veggies I'll be honest, but they were bomb. Anyway, I'm going back...today.
If you're looking for some really good Jamaican food, this is a good place to go and get it. I recommend it highly
Based on reviews, I couldn't choose between the oxtail and goat curry - so I got them both in the pick two combo. WOW. The curry packed a punch of flavor and the tender oxtail meat slid off the bone. The rice soaked up all the spices and even the cabbage was seasoned just right, to balance out the dish. The owner shared that the recipes are from their grandmother and that each family has their own spin on the dishes, which I love. Add a patty and one of the Jamaican sodas to your order to turbocharge the tasting experience.
Been looking for good Jamaican food in Austin for awhile and this place is definitely it! Came with a friend and we ordered oxtail and curry goat. Both were packed full of flavor and the meat was perfectly tender and falling of the bones. This place is ran by a couple and they're currently the only workers there so there may be a small wait for food, but it is definitely worth it. Highly recommend!
.OMG. This is some of the best Jamaican food I've ever had. We ate the Curry Goat and the Oxtail with the traditional rice and peas, plantains and veg. It was so good we had to take out to go just so we could have more later. As a bonus, everyone who works there is so nice. One of my new favorite places.
Authentic And Full of Flavor! Quality over quantity.. Fresh ingredients Quiet and Intimate environment Wait Time was a breeze 9.7 experience
This is a special place. There's a lot of good food in Austin, but it tends to fall into the same few categories. Bikkle offers something totally different and is some of the best food you'll eat in Austin. I got the curry goat when I visited and found myself cleaning the bones by hand once I was done. You're not getting a Michelin star atmosphere and plating, but the quality of every bite of food is excellent. 100% planning to stop by here every week or so to try the rest of their menu and get some Jamaican flavor in my life.
Food is fire! I had oxtails, jerk chicken, cabbage, rice and peas, potato salad and a couple of Red Stripes. A little bit pricey, but they give you big portions and it's totally worth it. Very nice guys that run this place. Fast and friendly service. I will definitely treat myself again soon. Ive tried 3 or 4 other places for Jamaican food and this is the best in Austin imo. Thanks boys!
Perfectly cooked chicken with a flavorful crisp on the outside and delicious soft inside. Oxtail gravy was also fire.love me some Bikkle
The food here was delicious. Reasonable prices they even have legit flavored sodas, tty the grapefruit one. I had jerk chicken very flavorful. The rice that looks like wild rice and herbs was extremely good I highly recommend. My first time trying Jamaican I recommend and will definitely come back.
this is my new favorite spot, the oxtail was cooked beautifully so tender and flavorful the jerk chicken was cooked to perfection everything was delicious. the customer service was amazing this place does not disappoint !
I will definitely be returning the best authentic Jamaican food. You will definitely get more than what you would expect and more than what you pay for, friendly staff rastas in the back cooking the aroma and seasonings in the air alone make you feel like a kid that just can't wait to get your favorite food
Some of the best Jamaican food around, and great friendly service. We tried the beef and veggie patties, goat curry, stew chicken, and ital stew, peas and rice, and cabbage. Nothing was less than very tasty. The goat and chicken were both perfectly done fall-off-the-bone tender and the flavors were rich. Peas and rice were tasty all by themselves but even better soaking up the gravy from the meats. The beef patty was possibly the most flavorful I've had anywhere. The ital stew (new to both of us) was a very pleasant surprise. I would (and will) be back to have it all again.
The food here is absolutely delicious. My cousin got her beef patties and I got some of that mm mm mmm good curry chicken. Next time we go we sitting down to eat and taking the whole family. I promise you won't be disappointed.
So so good! Food came out fast and was delicious. Got the jerk chicken, rice & peas. Very large portion of food but you can easily eat it all by yourself bc of how good it is! Give them a try
The food was amazing!!! The best Jamaican food/food in general that I’ve had in Austin! The service was fast and friendly! Ms.amber brought out the food quickly and it was hot and delicious. The stewed chicken is soo flavorful and the portion sizes are fulfilling! The chicken was fresh and fell of the bone and was juicy!! I will definitely be back to try everything on the menu one by one! Thank y’all for the great experience!
The food was great and had an amazing flavor! I got the jerk chicken. And the person who took my order was very kind.
My boyfriend had been really wanting to try this place and took me after we both got off work. We got there about 30 mins till closing, so they were out of a lot of things...however, the wonderful woman behind the counter (who was literally doing everything by herself!!) helped us pick out something we'd like from what she had left. We ended up getting a curry potato plate with coco bread + a chicken patty for my boyfriend. It was phenomenal! I was shocked at the quality, flavor, and quantity of the plate we received. We shared it and still had leftovers. Please, even if you've never had Jamaican food, try Bikkle! You can really tell how much love is put into the food.
Was recommended this spot during my visit to Austin. Food was fantastic! I ordered the Oxtail.. falling off the bone… highly recommend A++
First time having Jamaican food and this did not disappoint! The flavor was amazing and cooked fresh and hand delivered to your table. The owners are very nice and were kind enough to substitute the rice for cabbage. The jerk chicken eggrolls are a absolute favorite and a MUST try if you visit. The prices are reasonable and good parking. I will say it does look closed when you enter into the parking lot but their entrance is on the parking lot entrance. Try this place!
Fast service. Had the jerk chicken and oxtails dishes. Excellent flavors and generous portions in regular size. Could probably share one large dish between two people just fine. About $40 for two including tip but money well spent!
I've been here many times since I first discovered this restaurant a couple of years ago. This is the best Jamaican restaurant in the area as far quality and service! I've eaten many of their entrees and they're all really good. The oxtails are delicious! You get big pieces and a heaping amount of rice and red beans or rice and gungo rice peas. The oxtails is well flavored and the gravy is scrumptious! I highly recommend this entree! I've also had the brown stew chicken which is always delicious with it's unique flavor and gravy you can go wrong with tenderly and very tasty chicken. One of my favorites it the jerk chicken. It's well seasoned not too spicy, but the accompanying jerk sauce adds a nice savory mix to the flavor. I did have curry goat entre but I wasn't too fond of it. It just wasnt flavorful and tensor to me. Last bit not least the Jamaican beef patties! This is definitely a go. The crust is how a Jamaican patty is supposed to be flaky. The beef is so delicious. The chicken patty is just as delicious! However please support this local eatery and enjoy the wonderful food. Don't forget to check out the Jamaican sodas and the festivals which are delicious!
My favorite spot for some great Jamaican food! I always get the oxtail meal and it just melts in your mouth -- I'm drooling just thinking about it now. I am obsessed with their rice and peas, they're always so well seasoned and has a slightly sweet flavor that I love! Their beef patties are also delicious and flaky.
Every Jamaican place I’ve been to since moving to Austin has been great, but this one is the best so far. The rice+peas taste homemade. The jerk chicken was perfectly cooked and the beef patty was fresh. Can’t wait to come back and try more!
The oxtails and jerk chicken did not disappoint!! They were so good and the portions were VERY generous you don’t need get extra of anything because they definitely hook you up ! The food was hot and fresh, it took maybe 10 minutes to get our food the dining room was clean and the cashier was very patient explaining the different kinds of food to me and what was in it. I definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for some good Jamaican food !!
We got the ox tails they we delicious and not fatty flavor was good sauce made the rice and peas better even though the rice and peas were good on their own. I should have got them to put sauce on the rice and peas I'm a sauce girl.
Atmosphere is nothing to brag about but people go for the food. All the food is great!! Oxtail on point!!!
I’ve ordered from here twice and both times the food was amazing! It was very easy to order online and my food was ready upon arrival even though I was early. After a 10 minute drive back to work, the food was still very warm. Jerk egg rolls, beef patties, coco bread, jerk chicken, oxtails, gunga rice, cabbage, and plantains were all high in quality and taste. The only thing I didn’t like was how the jerk chicken leg quarter was roughly chopped. It causes a lot of bone fragments that downgrades the eating experience for me since I have to pick them out. A simple slice on the joint should suffice instead of chopping it all over. Kinda hot inside and the door handle needed to be fixed when I last visited, but none of the conditions were unbearable, especially since my online order was already ready. I definitely plan to make this spot a weekly lunch spot for me.
Man this joint is good! I ordered the Jerk chicken and they threw on a chicken curry gravy over the rice that was fantastic. Lots of food, super comforting but vibrant Jamaican flavors. Come check it out
Food is GOOD! I’ve had it three days in a row. It’s great for when you’re craving back home and want something very very close. I agree with others- it’s the closest I’ve found to tasting like my granny’s back home. The atmosphere is ALRIGHT. No napkins etc and it seems like they’ve cut back on portions based on what I received in comparison to a photo of the same meal from a year ago. I can’t fault them for that though because costs have gone up but they’ve maintained quality. So I commend them on that.
I don’t typically leave reviews but I had to for Bikkle. The food is so authentic and flavorful. I literally have only had food this good/authentic in Jamaica. I had the curry goat/potato combination plate with gungo rice, steamed cabbage, and coco bread and and was in awe. I usually get oxtails but I stepped out and tried something new and it was so worth it. The Coco bread and as the perfect addition to the plate. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back again soon!
I had got the jerk chicken egg rolls, a large oxtail plate with a side of rice and peas and cabbage it was delicious! very flavorful! this is definitely the best Jamaican restaurant I’ve tried out here in Austin I will be returning!
Just dropped in from Dallas for a wedding. We were craving something different, and Jamaican came up in conversation. We decided on the Jerk Chicken, rice and peas, & vegetables & plantains on the side. 1) Right out of the gate, the Jerk Chicken was the best I've had: tender, juicy, and well seasoned. My only constructive feedback is I picked out a lot of little bones; but, I feel like the bones added to the flavor, so it was a sacrifice I was willing to make! 2) The rice and peas were a perfect compliment to the chicken. The gravy on the rice topped it off perfectly. 3) I had cabbage, and my partner had plantains. Both were an absolute refreshment. The chilled cabbage was a nice palette cleanser, while the plantains made a delectable dessert. In summary, we love to support small business, and if you live in Austin or just visiting, please check them out.
We had the jerk chicken from this place and the only word I can use to describe it is ... Fantastic. The flavor permeates through to the bone. A balanced mix of smoke, spice, heat, sweet, and savory. It's a delight for the tongue. Then the dipping sauce just takes it even higher heights. I like my rice with ample gravy and the amazing and friendly staff are always able to oblige my preference. The oxtail gravy is a perfect compliment to their rice and cabbage . The staff are a joy to talk to and you know they are passionate about what they do. It is apparent in how they treat their customers and the quality of food the put out. We are such fans we didn't mind making the 20 minute drive 3 times in two weeks. If you want great authentic Jamaican food this is the place to come to. - Food 10/10 - Service 10/10 - Atmosphere 10/10
Loved they have actual parking! Loved the food! Service was a bit slow, but food came out hot and fresh. Decor was lacking with just tables and chairs. I tried the Jerk Chicken with potato salad, rice/beans and plantains. Everything on my plate was flavorful! I don't eat everyone's potato salad, but this one was decent. I actually ate it. The plantains were cooked so perfectly probably the best plantains I've eaten. I will definitely return!
I've had pretty much every dish on their menu and each one is delicious. The cuts of meat are flavorful and high quality. My go-to is the oxtail and jerk chicken. It's the most authentic Jamaican food in the city. The other reason why I'm rating this place a five out of five is because of the service. The owners are always prompt, professional, and kind. The staff is welcoming and put the customer experience in the forefront. I'd recommend checking it out, but be careful you may get as addicted to the food like me 😁
Got some food today and was very happy with the flavor and the portions. I'm originally from the Caribbean and lived in Jamaica for 2 years. AUTHENTIC!!! Not watered down at all. Everyone should try! Some of the items are made when ordered so make sure you pre order your fish or ackee and saltfish to cut down the wait time!!! P.S. the jerk chicken egg rolls, Nice.....
Had Bikkle for the first time this weekend and it was amazing. Being of Caribbean descent and being a native of the northeast where there are tons of quality Caribbean food spots; it’s been difficult to find authentic Jamaican cuisine here in Austin. Bikkle is doing it right! I had the Jerk Chicken plate with cabbage and rice and peas, great smokiness and spice on the jerk chicken and the option to add oxtail gravy to your rice was a great perk. My wife had the oxtail plate, oxtails had a unique sweetness to them, we’re used to a bit more spice/heat, however it didn’t take away from quality or taste at all. Just a different iteration of a classic dish that was very delicious and perfectly cooked. The owners and staff were very kind as well. We’ll definitely be back!!
Everything here was absolutely amazing. The jerk chicken was just the way I liked it (crispy outside, tender inside with a slight smoky taste). The patties sandwiched between festival bread were also incredibly tasty. After my meal I ended up buying another large serving of jerk chicken and a bunch of the jerk chicken eggrolls to take to a get together I had later that night.
Came to visit for something different after school. Bikkle has a great selection of menu items to appeal to a less adventurous eater (like stew, curry, or jerk chicken) as well as more interesting choices, like ackee and saltfish, curry goat, and oxtails. We had the curry chicken and the jerk chicken. The plate included plantains, potato salad, and a very generous helping of rice and peas. The food was flavorful and delicious. The meat is not off the bone so it was a bit difficult to eat, but the taste definitely made up for it. We also had a spicy beef patty, which both of us thoroughly enjoyed. The prices were very reasonable, only $35 for the amount of food shown below. Service was friendly and quick, and staff was patient with answering questions about menu items. We will definitely be back!
The food and service was great. The atmosphere could be worked on. The music was great. The windows were dirty. They could use a good window cleaning, some plants and some pics of some reggae artist, some pictures of the Caribbean or something like that to make it aesthetically, pleasing and enjoying. But if you’re just looking for a good place to eat or carry out, this would be it.
I am from the Caribbean ,Trinidad to be exact and I highly rate their consistency and it’s the best oxtail I have tasted in Austin. Pricing is generally fair for the amount of preparation it takes to produce these meals. Bikkle is a solid 4/5
We ordered the New Years feast for a birthday dinner and loved every bite of it. It’s rated for a small family (2-4) and we were two adults and two teenagers and it was the perfect amount of food for us…especially since we added on the rum cake for dessert. I think my 13 year old would eat the fish every day if he had the opportunity…and I hope they start selling the spicy pickles that we got with the fish, because the taste on those was phenomenal. We cannot wait until their physical space is open.
The jerk chicken was great. Plenty of flavor. The cabbage, rice and pease with the chicken curry sauce were also good. I would definitely go back.
Highly recommend Bikkle if you're looking for casual no-frills spot to eat the most authentic and delicious Jamaican food in Austin. The atmosphere is laid-back, with good vibes, good music, and a friendly family who clearly puts love into every dish. We love eating Bikkle because it feels less like dining out and more like going over to a friend's house for home-cooked food.
This has definitely got to be one of the best Jamaican places in Austin. The jerk chicken with stew chicken sauce and rice was incredible. The rice, mixed with beans, was outstanding—so flavorful it could be a dish on its own. Combined with the sauce, it created my favorite flavor pairing. The chicken was smoky, tender, and packed with flavor, while the oxtail was melt-in-your-mouth tender and absolutely delicious. The standout for me was the jerk chicken eggroll, which I could eat every day. It had hints of sweetness from the fried plantain flavor, and the jerk chicken inside was perfectly cooked—better even than the chicken plate. The fresh vegetables made a great side, and I can’t wait to return and try everything on the menu. They do run out of plantains quickly, so get there early if you want it. For the quality, I’d say the price is more than fair, and their late opening hours are a bonus if you’re craving a meal when everything else is closed.
Visiting from Philly, Jamaican food is not the first thing that comes to mind in ATX, but I urge you to make a stop As the owner and I discussed, it’s his grandmothers recipe and you can absolutely taste the layers of love Some of the best oxtails and gravy I’ve ever had. Rice and peas, cabbage and plantain wonderfully cooked and perfect texture. Everything is well seasoned in the layers of the cooking process, so it’s seasoned without being overpowering The owner at the register also has a loving spirit and clearly takes pride in his dishes. Please make a stop! You see my smashed plate!
This was by far THE best Jamaican food I’ve had… and I’ve been to Jamaica! First time trying curry chicken and I literally thought I died & went to heaven because it was so good. I wish they would have had the goat in stock when I visited. Oxtail were amazing & everything else I had. Love that it seemed to be family owned & operated. This place should be PACKED out!!!! Go and try it all (-:

Small place, friendly, hard-working family, cooking up great food. It was warm in the lobby, and they were out of several things. We got there around 6pm. We had the oxtails, curry chicken & jerk chicken. All were very flavorful. I also tried the chicken patty, which had a good spice to it. It's always a good sign when you see a mix crowd of folks waiting to order in line. Go see them...
First time dining here, but it has been on my bucket list for a while. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious. I ordered a small jerk chicken plate and ate it all . I will rate food at the end. The atmosphere was basic, nothing fancy. It was cool with me since it reminded me of the spots I would go to in Philly Just a small space with a small kitchen. There is a sign stating that it is a small establishment with a small cooking station and please don't argue with the cashier's. I am assuming it is because they may run out of food. For instance today when we arrived at 430pm they were out of curry chicken and had only enough cabbage for 1 of our plates. After we said what we wanted the cashier stepped away to make sure there was enough. The cashier was pleasant. I would go back because the food was authentic and delicious. Rating in order of my taste buds favorites 1. Stew chicken with cabbage and rice and peas 2. Jerk egg rolls 3. Jerk chicken with shredded veggies cold salad, rice and peas. I definitely will be a repeat customer.
This place serves delicious Jamaican food - with all the spices and flavors you would expect. Portions were perfect for a single meal. As far as price, seems comparable to other places in the niche. There isn’t a soft drink stand, which would be nice. Jerk chicken wasn’t too spicy, and the goat had plenty of spice for those who enjoy spicy things that don’t overwhelm the flavor. The cabbage was more of an earthy flavor, which was surprisingly good. Food was quickly made (within 4 four minutes of order). I would definitely return.
Went here yesterday and tried a plethora of dishes, and nothing disappointed. The jerk chicken was full of flavor and just the right amount of spicy. The oxtail was so tender and tasted great. All of the sides that come with the meals were amazing. Rice was great, slaw was great, and the plantains were perfect. A little bite on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. The head chef knows what he’s doing !!! This place just exudes authenticity. Can’t recommend Bikkle enough if you’re looking to get a taste of Jamaica !
Decided to try for first time, we stopped in and food was AMAZING. The Jerk chicken & Beef Patty were off the chain..!!👍 Wife had Oxtails, she loved them. The cabbage was fresh, and rice and peas with ox gravy was delicious. Absolutely recommend, especially if you want some good food, nice portions, and great service!!!
I think I recommend it? Ordered to dine in and two of the employees seemed very unhappy with a guy they were working with BUT THEY IN NO WAY took it out on customers, they were kind. They seemed to have had an issue with the cook guy. One employee girl had enough of him and just left on the spot, the man was furious and was cursing in Jamaican and getting loud, myself and other patrons looked at each and as his anger carried on we all in the dining hall packed our food and left. Thankfully the foods already served in to-go containers. Aside from the work place drama the food was amazing even though we couldn’t eat it fresh there at the restaurant. Had the oxtail and jerk chicken, delicious 🤤
We had 4 jerk chicken egg rolls, bammy, and the curry potatoes as well as three bottled drinks. The food was good and the sorrel ginger was excellent. The cost was $40 so it’s not cheap. All restaurant prices seem pretty high right now now.
Really solid food! I love beef patties but the curry chicken patty was even better here -- our 7yo could've eaten a couple of those on her own! The jerk chicken is very flavorful (maybe a tad salty). The oxtail was similarly delicious, though the sauce was on the sweet side. The owner was very nice and came out to speak with us. We'll definitely be back for more. Can't wait to try the goat.
This food fed. My. Soul. I got the double chicken plate with stew and jerk chicken, and both were fall-off-the-bone, perfectly seasoned, with the most balanced, delicious sauces. The callaloo rice and steamed cabbage were well seasoned and garnished. The portions were amazing, you will have leftovers, which is perfect because you won’t want this meal to end! I will be returning and telling everyone to go here! I took off a star because I never received the side of plantains that came with the order and it was delivered, so I couldn’t rectify the issue, so I do recommend going in-person to mitigate this, but everything was so delicious that I still whole-heartedly recommend it.
Overall good experience, the worker was super friendly but unfortunately they didn’t have the jerk chicken or stew chicken when we came which was a bummer. Overall food was great, I got the curry goat and a ginger beer. Weirdly they didn’t have tap water? I asked for some and they said they didn’t have any cups for water and I had to buy some.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bikkle Jamaican Restaurant in Austin, Texas, and I was thoroughly impressed. I ordered the large Jerked Chicken with peas and rice, along with a side of Oxtail, and every bite was packed with authentic Jamaican flavors. 1. Flavorful and Authentic: The Jerked Chicken was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of spice, delivering that authentic Jamaican taste I’ve been craving. The Oxtail was tender and rich, complementing the meal beautifully. 2. Generous Portions: The portions were generous, making it a great value for the price. I left completely satisfied and even had some leftovers to enjoy later. 3. Friendly and Welcoming Staff: The staff wasn't incredibly friendly and welcoming. I didn't speak to the manager about this. 4. Fresh Ingredients: You can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The rice and peas were cooked to perfection, and the flavors in each dish were well-balanced. 5. Promising New Spot: As a new business, Bikkle Jamaican Restaurant has so much potential. They’re off to a fantastic start, and with a bit more time, I’m sure they’ll become a staple in the Austin food scene. The only downside was the lack of desserts, but I’m hopeful they’ll add some classic Jamaican sweets, like Hummingbird Cake, in the future. I highly recommend giving Bikkle a try and supporting this up-and-coming gem. I can’t wait to visit again in the next six months and see how they’ve grown!
The chicken was really good and flavorful! The other sides- Cabbage, rice and beans were meh. The rice was dry (was offered gravy but declined tbh) and i foubd it odd there were peppers and carrots in the cabbage (a bit off putting). The plantains were good though. I'd go again, but omit the sides!
I’m grateful for Bikkle. I come from New York City, where there is an abundance of Jamaican restaurants, so my standards are pretty high but Bikkle satisfied my cravings the one time I went. I got the curry goat (bottom image) and my acquaintance got the oxtail (top image) both regular sized plates (altho he wished he got a large after). Pros: - The rice and peas are my favorite, because it tasted the most familiar. - My friend says the beef patties are good. Cons: - My other friend says she thinks they use too much black pepper in their food and - their coco bread tastes more like a hard biscuit lol. - I did not get enough goat meat—it was mostly bone and large pieces of ginger in my plate—and - we both only got two pieces of plantain. - And it’s more of a take out place. Not very cute to sit down in, unless you don’t care or are with a large group. The oxtail was a bit sweet, which I’m not used to, so take that how you will.
You need to update your favor and DoorDash app. Because people are able to order on days when you are closed. This is the 3rd time I ordered and waited and when the delivery person goes to pick up you are closed. Update your delivery days in these platforms so people are not wasting time and money. Why are you closed on a Thursday??
I love the food here but half the time I come here they’re not open which is super frustrating. How do they expect to survive in Austin with expensive carribean food and barely open? I had my mind set on curry chicken only for them to be closed on a Tuesday. This has to be a joke
Good food, but overpriced… the potato salad is always slightly on the going bad side. If you’re going to charge over $30 for a plate, at least increase the portion size… for that prize I need my oxtails to be “tendernism”
I had the oxtail. I’d never had oxtail before, so it was interesting. The sauce on the oxtail was tasty. The cabbage was sweet, which I didnt like. Overall it was okay but I won’t get it again, especially considering it was $22. Much better meals nearby at Aster’s or wherever. The indoor decor was pretty barren tbh. No photos or anything. I wouldnt bring a date here.
Back in 2023, it was great spot! The food quality declined which made us search for great tasting JA food elsewhere. I recently came upon a gem in Pflugerville called Kings and Queens which took me back to the authentic flavor Bikkle used to have. So, yes, I'd highly recommend this other great spot! It's a bit far for me, but worth the drive! You're welcome! 😊
For Austin standards, I suppose it was ok. But I mean no harm when I say this, but these were the WORST oxtails I've ever had. 90% fat, no flavor. Grateful I can make my own, bc this was not it AT ALL. Almost $35 wasted.
When I got my food from DoorDash two days ago,I bought goat curry i open the container, the first thing I seen was the bones with a little meat on them and fat I was not pleased with the presentation that I was given. I felt like they did not gave me with the picture had sold me on. not happy with the 35.66 plate….i wonder if i had labeled my name as Keith Lee on Doordash would it of gotten better quality lol
Been to Bikkle a few times and I must say I'm just consistently disappointed. Whenever I order a dinner this is pretty much what I get. Those black things on right side are plantains with minimal stew chicken and a while lot of rice. I love spicy food, however there is such a thing as to much spice. Its overpowering and just takes away from the dish. I will just stick to the sides the curry potatoes are always good. Otherwise not sure I will order much else from here.
I’m not leaving a 1 star because the food wasn’t bad but it was incredibly overpriced.. I ordered food to share with my wife it was the 2 chicken plate and the oxtail plate with 2 patties a curry chicken and beef patty, 68$ the chicken was good so was the oxtail but like some of the reviews were saying it didn’t seem super authentic, just another style of food spot on the strip, this is one of those places that you try once, and move on, it’s not worth the price at all 4 pieces of barely medium size oxtail and the double chicken was just 2 pieces of the leg with thigh piece and 2 strips of plantain and not that many sides, the patty’s were just average, just saying paying almost 70$ for less than 10$ of ingredients is pretty wild…
I got the oxtail plate with steamed cabbage, rice/peas, & plantains. I was disappointed with the oxtail; they were tough and very fatty. The oxtail gravy was perfect, well seasoned, but not too salty. Rice/peas were great and cabbage was a little crunchy for my liking but still pretty okay. Customer service was average and the atmosphere was average. I might give it another try at a later time.
Placed $200 order on door dash and was cancelled after waiting over 30 min. Called the store to see what the issue was and basically no one cared to explain or hear my concerns. This is the second time this happened. Needless to say this will be my last time ordering food from them and with customer service like that I can’t see them staying in business much longer.
This is my first time coming here and I spent 25$ for 2 damn oxtails. I didn't even realize it was only 2 until I got home. I'm so annoyed with people like you charging so much for little to nothing. Yal are gonna have to give me a refund. This is ridiculous!
Save your money just go to In N Out. This place is guaranteed to be out of something. That was the only authentic Jamaican thing about it. I got the curry chicken the oxtails and a beef patty. I came for the jerk chicken eggrolls but the chef didnt want to make em. I deffinitely wont be back and i wouldnt eat it if someone gave it to me for free.
Food’s great! But if you drink at all and try to be responsible and leave your car in their lot (DURING THEIR CLOSED HOURS, after I just bought food from them), they put a boot on it or tow it. I guess they prefer people to drink and drive… not the best morals over here :/
I’m from Jamaica from Spanish Town and I wouldn’t call this Jamaican food Bought curry chicken and rice and peas Brown stew chicken and festival and beef Pattie’s and none of these dishes taste authentic . The food isn’t terrible but you can tell they aren’t using the right spices for the flavor. They got the color on the curry but doesn’t taste like curry and it’s almost sweet for some reason Same thing with the brown stew chicken —doesn’t have the right flavor or spices. The festivals don’t even look right but i have it a try and immediately spit it out. That has more of a dried cinnamon roll flavor — which festivals shouldn’t. honestly all the food is kind of sweet not sure why. Like i said, wasn’t bad… It’s probably tough to find the right spices to buy here in Austin anyways but Probably wouldn’t order from here again if I’m looking for authentic Jamaican food because this is absolutely not it
First time trying them they messed up my order ate their food and I don’t know how long they had to jerk chicken heating up for, but after eating their food, started to feel sick. You get more bone than meat Their oxtail sauce it’s way too thick. I’m an actual Jamaican and I just moved out here from Florida honestly, just feels like a rip off no love no life in the food was really disappointed and sad I thought it was a place that was gonna remind me of Least taste good, but it doesn’t For people that gave this anything but a one star you guys just haven’t had good jerk chicken before or been at a good Jamaican restaurant.
