Avis sur Corner Bar Austin
Friendliest staff in Austin. Easy parking and crazy affordable drinks. This is my go to after work bar. There is typically a food truck with yummy food open most days.
Husband wanted Brown's today, because it was so hot out I stopped in CB to get a drink. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and SO quick. She was on top of her game. I ALWAYS ask the bartender for suggestions, sometimes I get the ehhhh well we have this.... blah blah blah. Today I wanted something light and crisp, she immediately knew what to try. I was SO impressed that right off the bat she got me something I loved! (Never happens) It was a weird time of the day so only a few other patrons were there, but I have a feeling the service is always great. Jiame - the manager was also great. He was running around doing bar stuff, but made it a point to come over and talk to us and introduce himself. I am going to come back for the michelada ya'll got me stoked for and that bloody mary bar. Thanks for the overall GREAT lunch experience. It is MUCH appreciated. P.s. I'd let ya'll know the bartenders name if I remembered, I am SO bad with names.
What a friendly neighborhood bar, plus they have El Tizon Mexican food truck. And on Sundays at 3pm with a $10 bar tab you get a free plate of great BBQ.
Stopped by Sunday, Great Neighborhood bar! Lot's of parking available, Free BBQ on Sundays (it is delicious and plenty to go around) and super friendly bartenders, especially the Sunday night guy.
My favorite martini/cocktail bar in the ZR. Excellent service from the staff. Small place so can get quite crowded.
Such an awesome place!! I absolutely love the atmosphere! Jacob the bartender was super fast and friendly!! I've worked several bartending jobs before and I think he was amazing!!
Great place to hang out anytime. Staff is friendly and fun. Definitely have to try Brown's BBQ food truck while here.
Bartenders here are a whole vibe! Specialty drinks are so good… the guys got to watch UFC fights and us girls got to hang out and listen to the spot on playlist👏🏽
You come here to watch sports, eat Brown's BBQ, and catch up with friends or make new ones. Great spot in the 78704. This isn't an east side style bar and it's refreshing.
Great little place to hang out with friends. Their mezcal cocktail is amazing. The service is fast and the bartenders are friendly.
My experience here at the corner bar is a very comfortable environment on any given day. Most of my friends and I usually pick this place on a Monday when there aren't too many other places to go. I love this place.
This bar is awesome! Bartenders are fun, drinks are great, and they even have a few food trucks around! Love it!
Great local Austin bar with even better Barbeque from Brown's bbq trailer. Parking is tricky. Sunday's ask about the bbq special!
Old timey small gas station turned into a cozy bar. Excellent large 65 inch TV's for the sports nuts.
Fantastic local bar with a good beer selection and good specials. Their free Sunday BBQ with a $10 tab is an awesome deal
Great low key bar with the best BBQ in town at Brown's BBQ food truck. Excellent business combo
Awesome spot to watch NFL games and the food trucks outside run cool promos like after 3pm on Sundays, a $15 bar tab gets you a free plate of food.
Happened to be walking down the street past this place, stopped in, had a couple of beers. Friendly people (especially for Austin), cold beverages, nice atmosphere.
The neighborhood bar you want to live near. Tons of options, awesome local food trucks and the excitement of being right on Lamar. The BBQ trailer is OG and I'll be here often because it's in a good neighborhood.
The bartender makes an excellent Grapefruit Margarita and is a good talker. Just a bar but there is a barbecue truck out front & you can take your food into the bar as they don't have drinks.
Huge bar with indoor/outdoor areas! We have always had great customer service and the menu is pretty extensive. Great location too inside the JW Marriott in the heart of downtown Austin!
Super cool and by cool I mean amazing cold AC and cold beer! Love the Golden tee and other fun games. Best crawfish boil and outdoor patio. Dog friendly fun Austin vibes!
Great bar with a great rotating beer selection and their mix drinks are always strong. The staff is friendly and they have free popcorn! They are dog friendly inside and outside too.
Corner bar is my neighborhood go-to (I go way too often probably...) . Bartenders are great, space is good with lots of seating, nice patio. Food trucks are great, too
Nice bar for hanging out watching sports or just chilling the food trucks outside serve some delicious bbq or Thai food. Beers are cold and the staff are very nice and attentive.
The Corner Bar is a little slice of what Austin used to be before the fascists in the city council destroyed most of it. You still see guys with Stetsons and all manner of odd people who you just know have marvelous stories to tell, and guy out back that tell you how to peel a crawfish. Go there. Even if it's just once.
The corner bar has become one of my go to places. It is a bit small if you are a club kind of person, but just right if you like the neighborhood bar feel. It does not hurt that they have a Golden tee machine as well. The bartenders are friendly and remember you when you go in ( if you have been there a few times:)) They have food trailers on site and have things going on like crawfish boils or bbq's on the weekend. See you there.
The staff here are great! So friendly and want to make sure you like your drink. Great variety of options for beer and cocktails, and they have some good specials during the week. Wine options aren’t great, but that’s not surprising for this type of bar. They have the MLB package so we come here a lot to watch the games. Staff is always happy to switch the channel to the game you want to watch. The food truck outside, Browns BBQ, is phenomenal and you can get a free plate on Sunday with a $10 bar tab!
Just next to Browns Barbque. I got food at Brown's and sat at the bar here. Very friendly staff, decent drink selection, and the friendliest customer base I've meet since being in Austin. Great place. Get some good food and enjoy your visit. A must visit if your from out of town like me.
Good beer selection and friendly staff. Very small parking lot but street parking behind it is often available. Ring toss, Cornhole, Golden Tee. Popcorn machine. There's normally a BBQ food truck out front that serves lunch. Plenty of indoor + outdoor seating but it can definitely get packed. One of our favorite neighborhood spots.
Dog Friendly!! They put out water and treats for the pups, the service is outstanding, the fries (which I usually don't eat) are a human treat! Even tho the temp was 98-100 deg its nice and breezy on the patio very tolerable aka no sweat. I will be back soon!!
Great bar and great vibes! Stopped in for the world series expected a crowd, but it wasn't terribly busy wich was awesome. Service was super quick and a big selection. The food trucks out front had some great food too!!
This is a Must Stop! Brown's BBQ is amazing and they are right out front. The bar itself is small inside, but offers a patio with picnic tables & standing room area with darts. It is a great bar to drop by for a quick one, or arrive early and catch a game or fight. Always worth stopping for BBQ, since you are there anyways.
Superb staff.... something about the vibe there is light and airy, aside from the ceilings. Feng shui on point, though. Also, I took my New Orleans friends there for the food trucks when visiting and they RAVED. It just happened to be the crayfish boil time, too. I did NOT expect it to compete....sorry, but it is kind of a thing there in Louisiana. Curry + crayfish - I do recommend. Kiindi can't be better.... I literally ponder the quality of the ingredients and the separation of flavors. It's really something. The onion...tastes like onion. Shouldn't be a rare thing, but it is.
This bar is neat, well kept, with decent selection. But I honestly only go there for the amazing Brown's BBQ food truck out front. They let you take the food into the bar in hopes to get you to buy some drinks to accompany your bbq, and it works every time.
This place has an amazing vibe, great cocktails and very friendly bartenders. Alex, in particular, is very friendly and helpful. I’ve never been to this city and he was very generous with his time when giving me recommendations for places to visit. It’s always best to get your info from a local. If you’re in the area, check this place out for a nice daytime lunch!
Excellent atmosphere, encompassed with true Austin Weirdness. Plus it's local owned & operated completes its place in my life. Great staff with decent drink specials. A definite Austin EXPERIENCE that shouldn't be over looked. CHEERS.
This is quite honestly my favorite bar to visit on a Sunday. They have the best deal I think. A $10 bar tab earns you a ticket to get a healty serving of BBQ from Brown's which is right infront. They also are very dog friendly, meaning you pup can sit inside and enjoy the A/C during our hot summer days.
Great bar, one of my favorites in the area. The beer selection is incredible, staff is friendly and great place to bring the dog. The only negative is the parking but that’s not uncommon on South Lamar
Great choice for a relaxing Sunday. Wide selection of beer on tap (local and domestic). Bartenders are patient and helpful! Make sure to grab some bbq at Browns
We came to corner bar for my birthday and the food was amazing. My waitress gaby was also phenomenal. We ordered nachos and burgers and the food was delivered quicker than I expected. If you come here I highly recommend the nachos and the tres leche cake for dessert 😊.
Nice small place with a good vibe. The staff were friend. We had some cold tap beer and cocktails. All were served and prepared well. U Will love sitting on the front porch as much as Joe.
Great neighborhood bar with friendly staff. Perfect place to watch a game. Great food from Trai Mi Thai out front and Potato A Poutine fries out back. On Sunday afternoons, they offer free Browns BBQ while you're drinking.
Low-key one of the best neighborhood bars around. Atmosphere feels more local and relaxed than a lot of other bars on South Lamar. Food trucks here are worth checking out as well, especially Brown's BBQ. Great place to watch the game, although it does get crowded on Sundays during football season.
Love the atmosphere, food and staff. This isn't only for hotel guests come on in and enjoy the fun! Great options for lunch and dinner from sandwiches to a healthy portion of salmon. The food was cooked to perfection, intricately plated, so much flavor and just delicious! I also recommend coming on a nice day to enjoy the covered patio it has a great lounge vibe perfect for happy hour after work. I also enjoy working with the staff for private corporate events, the space inside is much larger than meets the eye and is great for hosting events.
I loved this place.....cool little bar with very friendly staff! We actually went to that location to eat at a BBQ truck (Brown's) BBQ. After getting our food the BBQ truck staff told us we could take our food inside the bar if we wanted to sit in AC, or we could sit on the bar's covered patio. I was also told that of we wanted an adult beverage with our meal that we would need to get it from the bar. I went in to get a beer (we opted to sit on the patio) and I was amazed at how clean and neat the bar was. The bartender was extremely friendly and the beer was cold. After eating, we went back in to get a cocktail. They had a list of specialy cocktails and I chose one that was a Blackberry something (the name was a spin on daiquiri, although it was nothing like a daiquiri..more like a martini). Bottom line is that it was delicious! Just wish it were closer to home so I could be a "Regular".
Great little locals bar. I wish there were many more like this. Two amazing food trucks in the parking lot. I don't know which is better.
Junior is awesome at Corner Bar. Service is always on point, food comes out right, and he keeps things running smoothly even when it’s busy. Super professional but still friendly and easygoing. Always a good experience when Junior’s working.
Actually visited Brown's BBQ food truck outside of Corner Bar. Great BBQ, great service. I hear that Corner Bar and Brown's have a great relationship. You can take the bbq into the bar.
We had drinks at the outdoor bar. It was a hot day, but cool air was blowing. Our bartender was super friendly and attentive, $7 grapefruit mimosa was yummy!
Went there for the first time last night and Sydney was my bartender! She was AMAZING and I loved the drinks! Will definitely be returning
Great bar. It’s not huge but there’s plenty of seating, a ton of great quality tvs to watch sports on, and they let me drink out of a tower so if I need refills I can just pull a nozzle. I once lost my wallet and the owner found me on Facebook to let me know he found it which saved my tail because I had just gotten back from New Orleans and had just won a fat wad which I hadn’t quite yet deposited in my bank because carrying all that cash made me feel like a cool old dad. Great community feeling and a great staff. I will gladly spend money and brain cells in this establishment.
Michael is the best experience I have had at any bar on South Lamar. The previous bartender started shutting me down as soon as I came in and I didn’t want to came anymore. I came in with some friends, a little wary at first, and loved meeting Michael and Houston. I have been back ever since just to see the both of them. This may be the best bartender and bar back duo. They have created such a great experience I am happy to come back to see them.
I can't say enough about the exceptional experiences I've had at Corner Bar, thanks to Moby and the incredible team. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warm smiles and attentive service. The staff here really knows how to make you feel welcome, and their efficiency is unmatched - you never have to wait long for a delicious drink.
Perfect bar on a Corner, wether watching Da'boyz get beat...again. or stopping in for a cocktail after yoga class. Hanging with you're friends and getting some awesome food form one of the 2 food trucks outside. Put you're phones down, make eye contact, actually listen to the words coming out of your friends mouth. It can make all the difference in the world, for you both. We ordered the Austin Collins it was good, a little sweet but refreshing. Had some food, shared a laugh. Then I got to walk my darling love back to the car, holding hands, snuggling each other for warmth. It's Totally true, what they say. Everything does taste better with Love!🖤
My friend and I were looking to get out in the nice warm evening weather but didn’t want to go somewhere that was COVID central (ie indoors w/lots of ppl crowded inside) and we came across this spot. Plenty of outdoor space to sit and have a brisket sandwich along with a strong cocktail. They were also playing great music—for a couple of hours, life felt normal. It was a great experience and a small escape. Had their seasonal Cranberry Thanksgiving Margarita and it was 💪🏽 I would def go there again.
Bartender was not very friendly. It's a decent looking bar. I didn't eat here so I don't know about the food.
Good service, friendly neighborhood bar with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of TVs for a relatively small place. BBQ food truck outside smelled good.
Actually I visited Browns Bbq. My favorite food truck in Austin. Brisket is great but the peach cobbler is the tasty delight. Try some!!!
best place for pulled pork and 2 DOS XX on tap at lunchtime. ...,not to mention the bartender is smoking ass hot!! \m/ Go Horns !!
Small bar with great drink selection (beer and cocktails). Nice place to catch a game or bring your dog to hang out with friends. Small number of staff, so you have to go to the bar for drinks and it can often be slow with a busy crowd. Try Brown’s BBQ food truck in the parking lot
I've driven past Corner Bar countless times, always thinking to myself, "that bar is so close to my house but I have no idea what it's like inside. It could be scary. It could be weird. It could smell faintly of wet dogs and then what would I do?" I finally got over my fear of the Bar Unknown and stopped in the other night. So, what did I find? Well, it's really nice inside! The bartenders are super friendly and attentive, the bar itself is made out of concrete and recycled beer bottles (we sat there playing "guess the beer"), and the patio is way bigger than it seems. I was pleasantly surprised, and will definitely make my way back for one of their great daily specials.
Great place, great selection of draft beers and spirits. The music seemed a but loud, although i haven't been there before i don't know if that is the norm or not but i felt like my friend and i were trying at each other to be heard.
Pretty chill spot. Not a glamorous bar but they have ample outdoor seating and friendly staff. Also having Browns BBQ out the door is a huge plus for the munchies.
Access and parking are a bit of a bear, but the drinks rock; the service is friendly; and the food from Browns trailer outside is unparalleled.
For the most part I dig this place. It's a neighborhood bar I can walk to. Wouldn't wanna park there as number of spots are limited. The main feature for me is the Browns BBQ trailer. They most certainly know what they're doing when it comes to"Que". Can't remember what day of the week your bar tab comes with a free plate. Thursday maybe. I said I dig it for the most part. It can get too crowded (for my taste) very quickly. Beyond that you should try it.
Nice little (really- it's pretty tiny) bar. Good beer selection and prices are pretty average. BYO food is nice also as the bar doesn't serve food, there's a bbq truck out front- although it's never been open any time I've been here, thinking it must just be daytime hours. Austin's Pizza and a taco truck are next door. The draw here is they generally have all the main PPV sports and events on, and don't charge a cover. If there's something you want to see, get there early, tables fill up quick.
This is a great neighborhood bar. The drinks are fuss free but cheap and there are games on the outdoor patio (ex.darts). There is normally a BBQ food truck parked outside. it's a great bar just to relax with friends.
UFC fights shown here. Seems like one of the few bars on South Lamar which do that. Austin has sudden dips in cold temperatures, so I was a little disappointed that there were not more heaters in place considering half of the place is outside. But, the crowd seems to be a great mix of people and very warm and welcoming
We went here for St Patricks Day, it's a relatively low-key, fun bar with several oversized "bar games" (think Connect Four and Jenga). The prices were reasonable and they had a small band playing. Nice ambiance and a view of South Lamar. The parking situation is pretty bare bones but they've partnered up with a few surrounding businesses to use their lots after hours.
This is a fantastic local bar to meet up with friends, though I wouldn't recommend it for large groups, as it's rather small. There are food trucks outside if you get hungry, and the bartenders give great recommendations for local beer. Parking can be a problem.
Seems like it would be a cool bar on a weekend night but during the week I would say it's just okay. It's in a weird location so you can't park nearby and there are no real other bars you can walk to from here. All of the food trucks were closed so we didn't get to try those out but it's nice that it's next to TacoDeli.
Pretty much a standard bar, though with a nearly non existent parking area. Call ahead to see if the weekend ‘bar tab of 15$ for food’ specials are going on, as they don’t seem to always rub them.
Just kind of par for the course neighborhood bar. A more or less average collection of liquor and a mediocre beer list. The biggest things to recommend about it is the flavored popcorn and the poutine trailer around back.
Too loud, where's having manners anymore! Margarita was good! And they say that the barbeque is great, it was closed when I was there ~
Used to be a great place to have a drink and chill. Unfortunately, they open all of the windows and doors here and all the smoke outside fills the bar. So if you like to smoke, this may be your bar. Not so much for me...
Came here with my pals last week to have some drinks and watch the UFC fight. At first it started off great, good atmosphere the bartenders were friendly and then it just went South from there. We got a spot outside we were trying to enjoy the fight but there was absolutely no sound on the fight and at the same time they were playing loud club music?? Why not just have the music in the background but still have the fight sound on? That would be a way better balance. Things got worse when the blonde bartender came outside and gave us a snarky message saying “We’re not gonna turn on the sound until the main fight” which is ridiculous for one fight?? Seriously. Going to take my group of friends to another bar that actually plays sound next time!
Bar tender was cold came for happy hour after reading $4 off $8 dollar cocktail on google menu photos Bar tender did not know the prices as he had off the top of his head said $14 a cocktail and all cocktails had different prices but were not listed in the menu so had to ask how much they all were and then said on only $2 off instead of $4. not a broke person but i came for happy hour left confused after only one drink it was mixed good but full of ice so 5 swigs and it was gone Honest review feels like a bait and switch On a another note the two who sang that afternoon were silk 06/10/2024
Great drinks and good options of beer. Bartender at that time was ok, he waiting on certain tables and not ours. It was early around 4p so it wasn't busy but it looked like he had people he new at tables and was waiting on them. We were the only table at that time that had to go up and order at the bar. There was only 3 other tables besides us with one person sitting at the bar. Probably won't go back. Its a "been there once and won't go back" type of bar.
The drinks, awesome! The drinks, and BBQ Sunday's deserve a 5. There was a time when we went each weekend religiously...But last weekend marked the FIFTH time that we have gotten screwed on our bar tab. They won't let you pay cash and insist on taking a card. Each instance has gone as follows: we ask for our tab, have to haggle with the bartender over other people's drinks on our tab, get it cleared up, pay cash and leave. A couple days later, our own tab, as well someone else's tab ends up charged to our bank. That's THREE tabs we end up paying for. Only once have we been able to get it cleared up. We have spent so much money there covering bogus tabs because they can't keep them straight. The one free "free BBQ" plate ends up costing us as much as two or three would. I caution you to always get a receipt. Shame on us for returning time and time again and allowing this to happen. It's a bummer because we truly liked this place and eventually just got over the parking situation, and got used to being blocked in every time we tried to leave. CB has lost some loyal followers.
There are hundreds of other bars in town, give them a try before you go here. This place is unsafe.
Walking distance from my house but I won't be going back. Very awkward seating and lighting. EXTREMELY rude and entitled "regulars", they can have it. Hello Horseshoe Lounge, Black Sheep Lodge, One 2 One, Opa, Saxon Pub, Gibson, etc. If you're looking for friendly, laid back, old school South Austin go to any of the above except Corner Bar.
Seems like a decent place. Sat at a table. No attention. Went to the bar.. twice.. no attention. Here watching the game. No one asked me if they could bring me anything. Girl behind the bar seemed more interested in one particular customer. That's all cool. I didn't need a drink anyway. Good game
Well that was a pretty cringy response to your Patrons there bar manager. I was also there last week with my girlfriends and we were outside trying to enjoy the fights too. Not really sure if you understand what’s going on here. Your customers are not saying don’t play music at all, we’re saying consider separating the inside club music from the outside sporting events. You can have the music with the TV sound on at the same time, this is 2022. Would you want to watch the Super Bowl with no sound or the World Series? Make your bar stand out from the others and be a leader!
I really wanted to like this place but the bartender ruined it. The bartender who was wearing a red designer bra on valentines day had an unwelcoming and overall trashy attitude, that too, over beer & sprite! Later on around 7:45 pm she blasted the music so loud, as if it were a club on 6th street on Saturday. There were only 3 tables occupied there, everyone sitting around and trying to talk to each other over the super loud music. My total bill came to $12, before tip, for a beer & sprite. Won’t go here again.
They currently have a deal on Sundays that they advertise on their instagram for a free plate of bbq from the excellent Brown's BBQ in their parking lot if you spend $15 at the bar. What they don't advertise is they only have a limited amount of these to give away. I arrived at 330 when the deal said it runs from 2-5. The bartender told me they only had 1 ticket left for it. I said okay, great, I'd like to take it and will order over $15 of drinks now if that's okay. The bartender said yes. Then before I was even given a chance to put my drink order in another woman walked up and said she'd like the ticket please - the bartender gave it to her without even looking at me first and then turned to me and said sorry there's none left. This was quite rude. It's also quite rude to advertise it being from 2-5 and then stopping halfway through. Bad look all around. Won't be coming back here again.
The male bartender was rude and seemed a bit racists. Had an attitude from the time I walked in, stared me down and sized me up. Then low and behold a 9 year old walks in which led me to believe they serve children liquor.
