Avis sur Costa Del Sol Austin
My Husband Loves the food & they have the best pupusas ever!
I always love going to Costa, their pup pupusas are unmatched!
Food that tastes like home and service beyond welcoming. Everything on their menu is made fresh to order with more than enough to satisfy. I’m grateful I found this place by my work. It’s a great place to go for comfort food.
Pupusas! Try them! The queso y loroco AND the chicharon y quseo are what you want to order. If youve never had these(pupusas) Salvadorean staple, you'll be impressed. Pupusas are corn Masa stuffed with the ingredients of your choice and are then grilled/pan fried to cook and crisp the surface. The come with a house made cabbage slaw and red chili salsa. Inexpensive and delicious. Go for it 😉
Literally the most mind blowing food for a great price. It takes just like a mother’s love straight from the kitchen. Don’t be discouraged by the location or any looks because this is some of the most amazing and authentic food you’ll try. Would forever eat here and would travel cities AGAIN just to eat here. Major find!!
I tried for the first time Salvadoran food and I was nicely surprised! The pupusas and Plantin were excellent! It's a bit expansive but you have so much food par plate, I had enough leftovers for dinner! The servers were nice. The atmosphere is very Salvadoran! I felt I wasn't in Austin anymore. It was a great experience overall. If you like trying new things you should definer go there!
It depends on the time, that's how long it takes to get the order, the waiting time is normal. What they should improve is the cleanliness, bad cleaning generates bad smells, I know that sometimes not all of us perceive or have the same sense of smell, but this time I couldn't eat well because of a bad smell in the restaurant. The food was super good and the service was good, but that point that complements it is missing.
Pupusa's were amazing the plantines were ok didn't taste fresh and were a little over cooked. The restaurant is small and stays busy our waiter when we 1st arrived was Jaime which did upset me to see her rubbing/touching all over her stomach and back while taking our drink orders to me that was rude and unsanitary
My fam of 5 visited this weekend from out of town. I ordered the pupusas.. pricey but oh so good! The salsa was lacking but curtido was on point. Def recommend 👌 My husband had the bistec plate which could've been better. Atmosphere dining in was not that great. Paint chipping everywhere and women's bathrooms out of order. Our waitress seemed tired, but with this ecomony..who isn't? I'd order to pickup pupusas again tbh but probably nothing else.
The Food here isn't bad. I think there is some room for improvement but over all it will satisfy an itch for something special. The pork was fried good but it was old pork. The Pupusa were decent the flavor was there like I have had at other places where you could taste the loroco. These tasted mostly of the Masa. The Cabbage wasn't bad pretty run of the mill and the salsa was ok. I think that both can be improved but it's pretty standard. Nice thing was it wasn't over powered by Oregano. The salsa was very similar to tomatoes sauce. I have had other versions that just stand out way more. But over all not a bad place to eat.
In my opinion it is one of the better places to get pupusas in town. The staff are friendly and willing to answer questions about the menu and check in when you need them. Food arrived pretty quickly and even had some of our team going back for seconds. Only thing holding me back from rating this place 4 / 5 stars is the limited parking and that they had a minimum charge to use a card.
I've been twice but will probably pass on this place and try other Hispanic places around here next time, because the service is too slow. I've only had the pupusas here, three different kinds. They're fine, definitely affordable. I waited 10 minutes for one pupusa, and another time I went I ordered two pupusas and it took 20 minutes from ordering for my food to be served. The restaurant was half empty both times.
My recent visit to Costa del Sol Restaurant was far from the enjoyable experience I had anticipated. Despite its promising reputation, my experience was marred by several significant issues that left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.
This place was fine. The wait was long, something was dripping from the ceiling (it was rainy), I didn't quite get what I ordered (enchiladas were supposed to come with beans and salad, but came with rice instead. [Ironically the rice was probably the best part]), my fiance ordered horchata and received some mango drink instead (also really liked it, so maybe they mess up on purpose?), and I'm pretty sure we were overcharged by around $5. The food was alright.
Edit 8/20/17. I'm pretty bummed to have to edit my review just the day after I posted 5 stars. I dropped down to 3 stars because my husband ordered 15 vegan pupusas the night of my birthday. He was very careful to specify and confirm that we didn't want cheese because the whole party is vegan. He ordered well in advance and confirmed the order more than once before he went to pick it up. Well, they messed up the whole order and put cheese on everything. They refused to re-make the order even though there was more than an hour left before closing. I was left with a house full of waiting party guests and no pupusas. Everything my guests brought was intended to complement pupusas, which were to be the main dish. I am never going to return because I think It's very poor form to leave a loyal customer hanging like that. I have been telling everyone about this place, but I feel very disappointed in how they treated us. -end edit Best vegan pupusas! If you are vegan, you may assume this place doesn't have anything you can eat. When I first saw the menu online, I was very dismayed. Rejoice! Not only do they make vegan pupusas, they make them better than any other pupusaria I have been to, and they don't use lard. Order like this. "Dos pupusas solo frijoles y loroco (a green vine that tastes like spinach), sin queso. Con guacamole." My Spanish may not be very good, but this gets the job done. Most of the people there do speak some English. Please be polite and speak slowly if you order in english. "Two pupusas with beans and loroco, NO cheese. Add guacamole." Two pupusas will fill up most appetites. One plus half a serving of guac is more than enough to satisfy me, and when you eat in, it comes with free chips and salsa. 4 pupusas costs about $9, so two hungry people can get full on $10. Guac is like $2.50 for a generous scoop. Be sure to leaver a tip. If you call your order in, be aware that vegan pupusas take a little longer to make. Call in advance and allow about 20 min or more, depending on how busy they are.
I would give it zero stars if I could. The service was terrible . The food wasn't good and we waited for over 40 minutes to get our food. When we did get it we had 4 pupusas that were de chicharrón but they smelled so bad. When we told the lady in the front that they were bad she said that "yea they do smell smoked" we asked her to remove them from our bill because we had only eaten a small piece before the smell hit us. That's when we noticed they the meat had gone bad. We where told that they can remove them from the bill but when we went to pay the lady not only did not take the 4 pupusas off of the bill she was trying to over charge us. DO NOT GO HERE!
No online orders available I like the food but I don’t wanna go to the restaurant always to pick up I prefer order through DoorDash and they don’t have it
The food is good but the financial practices need to be investigated 6 pupusa 1 jamica 2 small rice 56 dollars and than they used this excuse for 6 people we don’t have change so they would keep extra or you use card. Wait time is extraordinary 30-45 minutes. I’m a baller so don’t really care charge it to the game I won’t ever be back. They had a chance to have another customer but naw they are questionable
