I would eat here for pretty much every meal if I had my way. I love the wait staff and the food is great. They hold amazing hours compared to most places and that's rad too.

This place is a diamond in the rough. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but our breakfast tacos were delicious and the waitresses were smiling and friendly on New Years morning. My best friend and I both ate for less than $8 total. Can't beat that!

Great , i had eggs, bacon and potatoes and everything was delicious, i especially liked the Bacon better flavor than anywhere in Austin. Restaurant was clean, reasonably priced, great waitresses. I'll be back.

Good little hole in the wall place with some real Mexican food and some "Gringo" food mixed with a little Tex-mex. I would not call it clean and I do not know the hours. I tried the Migas the were very good and made with real cheese however they must have 5 eggs they were huge, the refried beans were different than most as they had some seasonings instead of the plain mashed beans most affordable places serve. Overall this place is worth the visit if you do not Spanish there is a lady that speaks English.

My plate was full of food for a reasonable price. The fajitas was savory with plenty of vegetables and sides. It looks like an old gas station converted to a restaurant but the atmosphere was definitely original Mexican decor. Went on a Friday and they had a someone singing the whole evening karaoke style. Drinks were hand crafted and tasty!!

Had the bacon and egg burrito. Was good. Has lots of eggs. I love eggs, but it was just a little too much eggs for me. Should have added something other than bacon like potatoes and cheese. Will do next time. Still was good and lived the green salsa!

I am local and brought 3 friends in town for ACL. Breakfast was outstanding. I had the migas and they are the best that I have personally had in Austin. Homemade fresh salsa was delicious. The service was excellent and the prices were on point.

I've been going to DJs for almost 10 years now because it's close to my job. And lucky for me it is, because I eat there all the time and tell my friends about it. I only go for the chicken fajitas and my GF likes the gorditas. They just upgraded to more comfortable seating and a chill atmosphere. The staff is also fast and friendly. The food has stayed the same for nearly a decade. Perfect. The salsa is good and full of flavor, too, but not too spicy at all. I am glad business is good for them and they continue to invest back into the restaurant. This place also kept me sane during the pandemic and I am glad they were able to survive the storm. When I dine out, I am a man of casual routine. No surprises at the restaurant for me. Don Juan's has been consistently tasty for years and won't ever break the bank. It's not very crowded at certain times, so if you can push your lunches out a little bit you may have the spot all to yourself. Five out of five stars for me. A true hidden Austin gem I will hope one day you will find.

I’m from out of town and just moved nearby and they made me feel very welcome. AMAZING BURRITO! It’s very rare in big cities for people to be kind even at restaurants but they have genuine Texas hospitality. I will definitely be back. You got yourself a new regular!

Little dive Mexican restaurant. Got some breakfast tacos. Hot and fresh. The little Mexican ladies reminded me of my aunt's. Very nice and attentive. Nothing fancy at all but for 2.50 a taco you can't beat it

They have a daily special! I might have to eat here every day. We had the regular enchilada plate and the mole enchiladas. Both very delicious and fresh! We love the drive through.

Overview: Food was great, service was amazing, booths could use some work. I was hesitant at first because of some other horrible taquerias, but this place was great! Food was 100% authentic and absolutely delicious. I’m a bit white so I order cheese enchiladas, and I’ve gotten used to the tex-mex version of them. But here you get the most homemade style enchiladas you can get outside of your actual house lol. The man serving us was very enthused and very happy to serve us. His english was quite rusty but he was still somewhat able to understand. I did speak to him in spanish though so I dunno. The booth we sat at itself was kinda cramped (and I’m a little 5’3 lady) but it was also free-seating so I’d recommend sitting at the other tables. All in all I’d come here a million times again. But don’t come if you’re too white tbh you won’t like it as much as I did.

The Carne Asada Don Juan was delicious, the service was really really good. Try the Tequila Cazuela drink, it’s amazing. A table of four walked out deliciously satisfied for not too much money. Highly recommend.

I'm typically not a huge fan of Mexican food, but I enjoy this place religiously. The drive thru makes things so much more convenient than anywhere else. Definitely a staple for morning rush hour and there's never any wait! Best part is that the lady who always has the perfect lipstick always has such a bright friendly smile, even before the sun rises. Her kindness and good mood is always so infectious; it magically cures the blues of an otherwise stressful morning rush hour and work day!! You're sure to have a great day if you start it here; their breakfast menu is pretty extensive, too. Pancakes, porkchop, bacon egg and cheese, you name it! The Migas somehow always stays crispy. Even the tacos are pretty big, and everything is such a great price!! Today I'm trying the Milanesa. Phenomenal ❤️ i love the texture and portion size! Inside, they have a bar with unique and eccentric drink options. The decor is adorable and unique as well! Very cute interior, with Custom Don Juan booths, chairs, even high chairs! I almost wish the patio was as cute, but I'm glad they at least have that option; it's a beautiful day.

Food was fantastic! Even though there were a few bugs in the place, the food was too good. One swing at the bugs, though, and they stopped coming by. Maybe they've been trained. Loved the green salsa. The chips (homemade like everything else) were light and crispy, and they weren't overly salted. The barbacoa wasn't greasy, was tender, and tasted great. The beans weren't too heavy either. Everything in my order was great, which was the two-meat taco option. The flour tortilla loses its softness quick if not covered in its container. Always wondered why those containers were there. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Service was quick. However, I was the only table. The place is pretty old (like all else in this area), but looks well maintained. Would definitely revisit when I stay nearby again.

The service was good but it ( the place)was also real slow. Food was ok. Not like oh my god I got to eat there again but not bad. The nachos were huge. The meat on the nachos were very yummy and they put that weird red salt (like michelada salt) on all margaritas even the fruit ones. I think that's an authentic Mexico thing because they put it on their snow cones and fruit cups too. I don't care for it but you might, lol. It was perfect for me and my friend to sit and yak and snack and drink

6am-11pm 7 days a week?! Most awesome. I enjoyed breakfast here today, Eggs Ranchero. I liked the ranchero sauce but their salsas are great too. Came to this place from Kyle used to be my favorite spot food is great! But they are starting to become stingy with salsa! I asked for another bowl and the girl told me that she wasn't allowed to. Also, the micheladas are so delicious. The only problem was that at the time to pay, they were not able to split the bill. They were having issues with the internet. Order than that. Everything was great.

Just average for breakfast tacos, but really cheap, which is great. They have a three for $5.25 special, if all three tacos are the same. I did three chorizo and egg on flour. Tortillas were fine. Not too thick and warmed up. Filling was fine. Green salsa has a medium kick. Probably three stars for the food, but a bump for the price.

Nice people, good food but kind of pricy. The place needs a face lift. Parking lot almost requires a 4x4 to get through due to all the damage to the concrete (sarcasm but you get the point).

Let's just remenesce on when this used to be DQ lol. I love coming here for random taco runs. But the parking lot is becoming quite the obstacle course to maneuver around in to find safe parking for my small spark. Hopefully they can invest in fixing it soon. Also. The prices have gone up. But kind of expected with everything else going up in Austin.

This place has been my favorite for a long time, but it seems within the past several months, things have gone downhill. Today I left hungry after spending over 30 minutes waiting for my food. And eve. When I tried to just pay my chefk and take it to go when ready, I was told that would take another 20 minutes,so i had to leave with nothing and no time left to eat. I can speak some degree of spanish, but they act like they understood me and then dismissed me enturely with no apology or explanation. This has been happening lately. It seems like they replaced the entire waitstaff with two waitresses that consistently underperform. Three stars for the great food I know they have but didn't get to eat.

Don't let the exterior and parking lot fool you into not trying this place. And old Dairy Queen building that has seen better days, but the food more than makes up for the low ambiance. Very delicious food, made from scratch; generous portions; very reasonably priced; and friendly staff.

The food is good but don’t ask for more salsa. They make a great salsa but they don’t like giving more than a couple ounces. Waitress will even be rude when you ask for more. So rude that I left and went elsewhere, leaving my plate untouched. I will not go back.

Ordered some chicharones tacos through takeout, and boy what a disappointment. They went a little skimpy on the amount of chicharones. Had been there the day before with the same order, and those tacos were much better. Must have been a different cook. Better luck next time, if there is a next time.

Depending on what you get, you might rate it differently. Service was good. The quesadilla and burritos are very good. Their mole not so good and my pork chop with chipotle was not good. It was over cooked and maybe fried to much not sure. They have a large menu so lots of options for everyone. They even have burgers and fries that were very good.

This place is right around the corner from where I work so it a good place to stop at for a breakfast taco. The only problem is that they have difficulty getting the order right. It's a 50/50 shot whether they get your order correct.

Pretty disappointed with my order. I called in an order for my breakfast tacos to be individually wrapped for people at the office. Not only were the tacos poorly wrapped together, some tacos had less filling than others. I wouldnt be so mad about having more tortillas than eggs, but some tortillas were also hard.

Worst place every I'm Hispanic but I don't speak Spanish, I was completely overlooked by the staff of nothing but women who catered to the other Hispanic men who flirted with them. If this is how they want there busy model to be they should be strippers not slinging what they call Tacos, but I guess either way you'd still end with nasty taco in your face

I wish there was a way that I can leave them a no star rating. I tried making an order over the phone and the woman that I spoke to said that I need to harry up because they’re about to close and I called at 10:15 PM. On their website it says they close at 11 PM she was so rude but I would love to try their food one day, if they decide to answer my calls.

Worst food I've had in a very very long time. There's nothing 'authentic' about throwing frozen shredded cheese on top of eggs and oil bathed corn tortilla chunks, cooked in a microwave. The vegetables we're so bad, I'd rather dig through the produce Walmart threw away. Although, the quality of the product doesn't matter too much when you can't even peel an avocado efficiently. Diced potatoes were edible - horchata tastes exactly like that fountain machine horchata at gattiland.

Charged me $9 for a cheese quesadilla once, I forgave them and next time they tried to charge us $1.99 PER taco when the menu clearly stated you get 3. Like the review below, I'm also Hispanic and not Spanish speaking and they treat me and my white boyfriend like dirt.

Saw a parking lot full of cars today!! Thought this will be a good place to eat! They brought me iced tea and chips and salsa!! They took my order and 40 minutes later waitresses realized my food had not been ordered. I had to leave!!

I just went there and ordered their 3 breakfast tacos for $3.75 deal to go. She tells me it's going to be a little more since it was past 11am. I said fine and proceeded to point at the menu what I wanted. 3 of one kind and 3 of another. I get home and one taco short. I call them to let them know their mistake and they tell me oh I charged you per taco. But the lady clearly yelled out when I was there "the order of 6 tacos!" BS place. And the tacos were extremely greasy. Won't be going back. For that price I rather go to a better place. Count your tacos before you leave.lol

I hate to say this, but this is possibly the worst Mexican food that I have ever had. I ordered a taco salad off of UberEats and got three chicken tacos. I got a refund for that and attempted to eat the chicken tacos anyway, the chicken meat was almost soaked in salt. I also ordered queso and it was not edible. I don’t know what was done to it, but it was horrible. The guacamole was the only thing that was decent, but was missing some key flavors (no salt, missing sockets). Just tasted like mashed up avocado. I will never order from here again.

I have eaten here off and on for about 6 years and all they seem to care about is how to milk your wallet with their complex menu which had different prices depending on the time of day. I always order migas. Made the mistake of ordering them after 11 a.m. the other day and was charged $11.99!!! Could not believe they had the audacity to do this. I used to pay like $5 for them. I will NOT be back to this place !!!

Since my last visit, new custom furniture, bar, complete make over BUT! Abysmal service, screwed up order, complete with an overworked waitress who yelled at me! Plus, whoever is cooking now sucks. Otherwise, great. Ha. I can't imagine coming back.

Ordered Menudo and Barbacoa Tacos through UberEats. The menudo tripe taste like it wasn't fully cooked. Taste was bland, watered down. The Barbacoa tasted like it wasn't fully cooked, also. It was a waste of $50. Very dissatisfied. I won't be a returning customer. Recommend change cooks, recipe or have someone taste it before service to your customers.

There was a price discrepancy on the website, and when I questioned the lady at the window while getting the cash to pay for some 15$ Nachos that I thought was 11$, the lady at the drive through got frustrated in 0.5 seconds, slammed the window, walked through to the back while ranting in Spanish with her coworkers. I was holding up the money looking puzzled and her coworker tapped her to show her I was trying to pay, but when I realized what was happening I drove off. Too many other Mexican restaurants to choose from. That lady is hothead. I just wanted to see if there was a smaller order of nachos available.

The food is good but the service I got from the lady at the drive thru was horrid I asked for 2 tacos with beans she said it would be cheaper to get 3 and I said okay give me three then I remembered to ask if she put beans and she went and fixed it, she didn't ask if I wanted anything else just closed the window and left to fix my order so I asked her if I could get a drink and she got mad and said that she had to fix my order again and slammed the window, at this point I'm upset because she's not asking if I was anything else she's just closing the window and assuming that's all I want. So rude of her I hope she's not like that with everyone else

We came here based on reviews o the food. The waitress was rude from the jump like she didn’t want to be here. They say they are open till 11pm so we came here at 8:30 for a bite. We are literally the only table in here and they have been trying to push us out since 15 min after we got our food. They have it smelling like chemicals so strong in here and I have a toddler. They are slamming chairs and it’s just the most horrible experience.
