Avis sur El Primo Austin
Walked up to a friendly face who took our order quickly. We sat at one of their tables set up under a tree. Gentleman making food was fast and the food truck looks clean inside. Waited for about 10 minutes as they had a lot of orders coming in. Once we got tacos we were pleasantly surprised by the homemade taste as if I had made these tacos at home. Chorizo and egg only and migas only taco are delicious. Don't be scared of the red salsa. 😆 4 tacos regular size flour tortilla $16. Will come back!! Buena comida y muy amable la señora tomando ordenes.
Awesome tacos and very friendly service! Highly recommend the migas and the pastor, and don’t skip out on the salsas!
Definitely delicious breakfast burritos! We ended up trying 15 places for breakfast tacos and they were able to compete just fine. Their prices were great especially considering how tasty the burrito tasted. Their prices service was friendly and fast. They had great options for their burritos to make it special. Everything was definitely fresh which could easily be noticed. I’d highly recommend checking them out.
Everything you’d want from a taco food truck. We split: 2 breakfast tacos (migas and the chorizo & egg), 2 tacos (asada and pastor), then the pastor torta. All were delicious and fresh. The migas breakfast tacos and the pastor taco were favorites, but the torta takes the prize as favorite item! Very friendly place, easy parking, and two large tables (mostly shaded) if you want to sit and eat.
I’ve been to a handful of taquerias here in Austin. This is by far the best spot in the city, 10/10 recommend! Workers are so nice, food is delightful. Worth every penny!
Outstanding tacos, with astounding service. Hard to beat a good bean and cheese taco. But this place is up there both in flavor and delivery. Worth a stop in one of many of Austin's taco spots
This has to be one of the most unassuming trucks/stalls in Austin and yet the food is incredibly good. We had Pastor, Chicken, Asada, and Barbacoa tacos and all were delicious. There are a few different parking lots and a convenience store to buy drinks from and use a bathroom if needed close by. There are two picnic tables that are well shaded.
Apparently in an interview Elijah Woods, when asked for the best breakfast in Austin, recommended El Primo! This is such an unpretentious little food truck (or stall?) There aren’t any vegan options but I got the egg, bean and cheese taco and the torta. The torta had the best bread I’ve ever eaten. The green salsa was my favourite. Really flavourful and I think they make it here themselves! The red salsa was quite a bit spicier, so be careful not to drown your food in that! The establishment is cash only BUT you can order online! Which is what we did! Can pay online too and then get your warm tacos right as you pull up! There’s two small picnic benches near a tree where you can sit and enjoy. It’s a little noisy with the cars passing by so close by but it’s a real authentic Austin experience! Definitely try the breakfast tacos! The beef was “literally melt in your mouth” And although not the Best Tacos Ever, these are really solid and up there in the ranking!
Such tasty and flavorful tacos! I went at lunch and had the al pastor, barbacoa, and carne asada. The pastor was very good and flavorful. The barbacoa was very flavorful and tasty as well. The carne asada was good but nothing too special. The corn tortillas here are very good - a little thicker then other places so it had a good bite to it. The salsa are also 10/10. The verde is mild and the rojo is a perfect level of heat. You can actually buy the salsas to go as well! El Primo is CASH ONLY as well!!
Was told I absolutely needed to get breakfast tacos while I’m Austin, so here we came. The tacos in Austin are so huge, so so big, here including. This truck is cash only, FYI. If you want something to drink, it is parked in a convenience store parking lot that they point you to when you ask. For a great cost, I got three huge tacos that were warm, delicious and filling. I tried the chorizo, sausage, and bacon. Of the three the sausage was my favorite, but this is going to come down to your tastes. I’d say you are not going to be disappointed no matter what! Great service!
The flavors are great but the portion sizes are small for $5.15 tacos. I’ll get a torta or burrito next time to see if it’s better bang for your buck.
Fast fun and friendly! Chorizo wasn't spicy so if you like a kick def get sauce! Migas and ham burrito was a great option too! So good, you know it's worth the wait when a small food truck has long line, was still pretty and food stayed really hot when we got it to go. Will be back for more.
The place was very well recommended. When I got there there was no one and I wondered if I was at the wrong place. Shortly after I got there there was a long line. The little truck is in front of a very small plaza, it has some parking but there is more on the other side. The lady that took my order was very friendly. I got a breakfast taco; sausage, eggs and cheese and a asada taco. I enjoyed them both very much. I didn’t expect the beef to be shredded but it was a very nice surprise. They were big tacos, very fat… I love that. I thought that it was a good price for what I was getting. I would definitely eat here again.
I ordered a migas and a chorizo breakfast taco. The tortillas weren't great, and neither taco really tasted like their fillings. The only flavor that came through was the egg and cheese. On the plus side, highly recommend the green salsa.
