We called the restaurant a few weeks in advance to reserve tables for a large group to celebrate my birthday. I assumed they'd just seat us together in their dining hall so I did not expect for my party to be accommodated into one of their more private rooms and that right there made the experience so much more special! The food was delicious and our server was very attentive and respectful. Everyone in my party loved the experience and we will definitely be back. Thank you, KBBQ for making my birthday special!!
First server was mid. Kinda slow to get started but at some point our server changed to Taylor. He provided wonderful service. He was very friendly and super attentive. If you're looking for a solid Kbbq spot this is a good option.
I didn’t understand the concept at first, but my son chose this location for his birthday and took care of everything! We saw men sitting alone having their feast and I thought it would be too much food for me, but shared with 5 worked out great! Plates on the grill get changed out frequently from the char of cooking. I thought I could get away with a Bento box, but everyone at the table has to participate in the all you can eat. The sides were delicious
First time ever going to this place and it was amazing! My sister suggested it to my mom and I. So we went we to experience it for my sister's birthday. The atmosphere was family friendly. The servers and staff were very attentive, they helped us out with food suggestions. The spicy beef bulgogi was our favorite but we also liked the thinly sliced pork belly. And you have good amount of choices for sides. Definitely will be going back again. It's a must try experience.
It has been a while since the last time we visited so here we are and it didn’t disappoint. Today the family and I were craving Korean bbq and since we wanted to have good tasting sides we came to K bbq ( not to mention all the options we have for desserts in this area). The service was great our server was on track the whole meal. For appetizers we had the French fries ( my son loves those), Mandu and japchae. For the meal we had chadol, galbi tang and the spicy beef chadol, all of those were delicious. Of course we had the sides and salad. I really like the rice too, it’s clean and flavorful. Great job K bbq always on point!
My family and I had a wonderful time eating Korean BBQ. We got so full after 4 rounds of meat. The service was exceptional. Our server Jennifer was kind and took care of us the whole night. She was very attentive. We were already eating before I realized I needed to take photos. Again it's a wonderful place to eat at. We would a 1,000 percent recommend. Thank you for the wonderful time.
We arrived around 8:30pm on Sunday and were seated immediately, which was really quick. We always order option C from the menu. The service is quick, and the staff is really nice. They switch out the barbecue grill multiple times so it doesn’t get burned, and they check on us often. The prime beef is excellent, and the eel is incredibly fresh. After we checked out, they even gave us free rice water milk, which tasted really good. We’ll definitely be back!
UPDATE: At the urging of some people we know and trust, we gave this place a chance to see if the experience would be different now. It was completely different and far different from our previous visit. The staff was very friendly and professional while ensuring each customer was receiving great service. The food was excellent and easily some of the best we have had at a Korean BBQ in the Austin area. We will definitely be eating here again! Previous experience: We have tried a few of the Korean BBQ restaurants in the metro Austin area and decided we would give this one a try since it was close to where we were handling business the other day. While there are several positive reviews, it seems we should have paid attention to the more negative ones. It was shortly after they opened at noon, so we thought it would be a good time to beat the typical "lunch rush." There wasn't a line, but we were having to wait to be seated. It appeared that they were understaffed and the few staff members we saw did look somewhat stressed. It was at about this time a group ahead of us had an "unpleasant" exchange with a member of the staff and the group left. We won't go into details, but the exchange was handled so poorly by the staff member that we decided to leave and eat lunch elsewhere. While we obviously can't comment on the quality of the food, we can state that what several other reviews indicated about the "cleanliness" of the restaurant is something we did notice. Several tables did not appear to be properly cleaned and a couple of staff members were "rushing" to get them clean while we were waiting in line. It could be there were staff related issues the day we went there and what we witnessed is not the norm. However, there are other Korean BBQ restaurant options available that we haven't had this kind of experience at and we will be patronizing them in the future instead of taking a chance on this place.
We had a great time here grilling our meat. We walked in on a weekday for lunch so it wasn't crowded like it usually is and got seated immediately. We went with the Set A and we were stuffed after all the meat and sides. I enjoyed the all the sides we got especially the cheesy corn, tempura and glass noodles. We had to specifically ask for green leaves, wish they gave it with other free sides without having to ask for them. Our server was great and very attentive by changing our grills frequently. Great place for large groups and bbq but it is definitely a bit on the expensive side
Somehow we stumbled onto KBBQ, which is a beautifully straightforward name for a straightforward restaurant. We were greeted at the front and sat immediately for lunch. The tables and grills are clean and ordering was very quick. We ordered from the A menu which ended up being a pretty good deal for how much we ate. For meats we got quite a few options so I’ll run it down like this: Bulgogi - phenomenal, sweet and savory Pork belly - flavorless and tough Garlic pork belly - somehow worse Brisket - alright, very average Chicken teriyaki - good, as expected Spicy pork - amazing, a real standout Spicy chicken - same as the spicy pork Pork shoulder - good but didn’t stand out The marinated meats were by far the best offerings. We also got sides of steamed egg and corn cheese that were pretty good. By the end of the whole experience we were stuffed and had eaten some pretty good cuts of meat and for cheaper than we planned. Would definitely recommend KBBQ and we will be coming back.
We had made a reservation at Sazan Ramen, but when we arrived the restaurant was closed for repairs. We were interested in trying K BBQ, so we went across the parking lot to see if they were open, and to ask if they had ramen on the menu. They did, even though the manager warned us that it was not the same type of ramen at Sazan - it is Korean ramen. We totally understood and decided to stay and try a few dishes. The service was really wonderful. Everyone was very kind and helpful, from the host to the manager to all of our servers. They even offered to bring me a taste of the wine when I asked about their House Red. The only hiccup in service was that we ordered the chicken teriyaki ($24), but they ended up bringing us the chicken teriyaki bento box ($22), which is not what we had asked for. The restaurant’s atmosphere felt utilitarian. Upon entering, I wondered if we had walked into a restaurant that was closed to dine-in and only filling takeout orders. The main corridor that you can see from the entry door looks like in an assembly line for takeout orders. It was 3 PM, so I thought they might have been between their lunch and dinner services. I went to the host stand to ask if they were open for lunch, and the host said that they were. When we sat down at our table, we noticed that there was a can of anti-fire spray and a plastic gallon jug of water with a label that said “do not drink” placed on a shelf just above the table. As we looked around the space, we also noticed that there were bright red fire suppression systems located very visibly in every corner of the restaurant. We understand that most diners are cooking over an open flame and it was important to have all of this close at hand, but the anti-fire equipment could be better camouflaged. We could also see boxes of plastic containers lined up along a glass window next to the dining area. They served water from what looked like a child’s plastic water bottle with worn off stickers, but the worst part of this is that the spout area had little black spots of mold growing around it. The restrooms were not very clean either. The food we ordered was mostly disappointing. The ramen ($10) was $2 packaged ramen from a grocery store with a meager handful of onions, green onions, mushrooms, and brisket thrown in. The only reason that I ever order ramen at a restaurant is because of the incredible broth and fresh noodles - I can make great packaged ramen at home. The teriyaki chicken was in a spicy red sauce and seemed to be a Korean-style version of the dish. The only dish we ordered that we were happy with was the seafood pancake ($17), which had scallions, octopus, and small shrimp in an egg-based batter. While we really appreciated the service, we don’t plan to return.
Walked in to reserve. Easy! When we came in we were seated in a booth. Button accessible to call for help. Friendly staff. Just felt the all you can eat price wasn’t quality choices. Food with flavoring was only applied sauce on top which looked hurried. The fire wasn’t evenly distributed, the metal grill didn’t look like it was the right material? The food was not cooking right even when we changed to different temps. Clean but you see an area turned storage when you go to the restroom. Not sure if this is a clean hazard standard. Servers were nice. Been to several ones I hope it’s better next time we come by.
We visited KBBQ Austin at 12:30 pm for lunch and ordered the all-you-can-eat option. However, we were charged the dinner price instead of lunch. When we asked, the staff explained it was due to the holiday, but we weren’t informed about the higher price beforehand. While the food was good and they gave us a voucher afterward, it would have been much better if the holiday pricing had been clearly communicated upfront.
Last time we ate here the restaurant was dirty, a literal roach crawled on our table, and then everyone got food poisoning. Very disappointing as when they first opened it was nice and clean, and we came at least 6 times before this happened. The food was/is good, but I wouldn’t come back unless they improve on cleanliness.
FOOD POISONING! I ate there last night. I was nauseous on the drive home. Woke up in the middle of the night with stomach cramps and diarrhea. And, have been nauseous all day today. I called them to let them know, and offered them the opportunity to refund my money and avoid this review. They were extremely rude. The restaurant is very dirty and run down. The menus are gross, tattered, and dirty. The utensils were dirty. This place is not well cleaned or managed. We ordered the most expensive dinning option to try the better meat options. They are obviously using low quality products. All meat brought to our table was frozen solid when put on the table. Not necessarily the cause of food borne illness. But, certainly not fresh. And, what they claim to be ribeye, prime rib, are definitely not those cuts. I strongly suggest you avoid this restaurant! Don't get sick like I did.. and, paid $180 for it. Horrible and Gross!
I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone: Filthy restaurant. My table had multiple grease fires and there is inadequate ventilation. Our table was very sticky and had grease streaked across it when I sat down. Grills were not changed enough and the meat tasted freezer burnt and old. The water bottles were also very dirty and had a strange odor. I saw who I assume to be the manager (middle aged Korean woman, shorter hair) to be berating and yelling at her employees in front of customers. It made the rest of the dining experience very awkward. You shouldn't manage employees if you have anger issues! Also, reading the owner's replies to poor reviews... yikes! Instead of berating them, maybe you should ask yourself why they are leaving a poor review! If you can't handle valid criticism, you shouldn't be operating a restaurant at all!
My wife and I came in with our children hoping to have a fun first-time Korean BBQ experience. Unfortunately, we did not even make it to ordering before witnessing an extremely uncomfortable scene. A young employee was loudly scolded by (what appeared to be) the owner in front of all the customers. This immediately set a very negative tone for our family, especially our kids. From what we could gather, the situation started because a cockroach appeared on a table and the employee reacted out of shock—which is a normal reaction for anyone. When I asked the host what happened, she openly told me the restaurant has a cockroach problem but that it was “being handled.” The only action we saw taken was placing a tray over the grill after the customers at that table left. This did not give us any confidence that the issue was actually being addressed. While the pest issue is concerning, the owner’s behavior toward staff was even more disappointing. It was unprofessional, inappropriate, and created a very uncomfortable environment for guests. As for the food, the corn cheese was burnt, the house salad was overly salty, and the all-you-can-eat option did not feel worth the price. Overall, our experience was completely underwhelming. Between the unsanitary conditions and the disrespectful treatment of employees, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I would strongly suggest avoiding this establishment until serious improvements are made.
Came here a year ago and experience wasn’t terrible and I decided to try it again bc I was in the area. When my “waiter” first came to the table he didn’t introduce himself and overall demeanor was poor like he didn’t want to be our server and or be there at all. Food was good, honestly Kpot is better. Got a sprite, no refill. Never really saw much else of my server aside from passing the food out and when we ordered meat again. This man never cracked a slight smile, some of the other servers were actually nice and I wish I had been sat w them for the majority of it. When I got the receipt saw his name was Mario. Could’ve been a different person but he was like the only male server at that time. BS service and I will never come back 👍
We came in on Saturday it was a group of us We paid for the top-tier menu expecting better quality and service, but neither lived up to it. The meats didn’t feel premium, and the experience felt rushed from the moment we sat down. Staff brought everything out at once, checked in rarely, and seemed more focused on turning tables than letting us enjoy the meal. For the price, the value just isn’t there. I do like the variety of options but service and quality wasn’t there and this was our first time .
